Still dreaming of her after several years (7)

I am still dreaming of my first love on an on-off basis. Sometimes I can go for several days straight dreaming of her and sometimes not. However, every single times I dream of her, we are never in a relationship. In real life, we are not together, we never call or see each other. When our relationship ended, she broke with me I would say about 3 to 5 years ago.

Does this keep happening to anyone besides me? Also, can anyone help me out to figure out why this keeps going on in my dreams?

Took me something like 6 years to forget my first love.

Don't worry, you're in good company. This happens to me too, and my situation is in about the same timeframe as yours.

>>1 you have come to idealize your ex, and fell even more for this mental projection.

This is a toxic situation because what you are interested does not exist (even your ex is someone different from your fantasies).

I suggest you meet real people. They are much less perfect than your dreams, but also much more rich and interesting.

I suggest http://www.dreammoods.com/, it has some pretty interesting symbols and meanings found in dreams.

Whether it's true or not is something else, but I'd say it's worth looking at.

Uh, no. The only true advantage they have is that they're real.

That is enough to imply the rest. Reality is inherently richer than fantasy.
