Speaking as someone who has no experience in this: In an extended kiss or make out session, when do you breathe, and do you stop to do it? Is it all right or bad manners to breathe through your nose and keep going? How do you know if you're dragging it on too long?
Don't think; feel.
Speaking as someone who has had a small but not insignificant amount of experience: I was too busy to notice exactly what I was doing.
Hehehe... Aged for truth. Despite what some people might say, a kiss, a real, passionate, knock you out of your socks kiss, is going to come as too much of a shock to your system for you to be able to try and worry about anything else.
I breathe through my nose ;(
First kisses usually come by surpise and are best if not planned out.
However certain situations are conducive to kissing.
pull back and think of something randomly romantic to say while you catch your breath. that way it doesn't make it obvious what you're doing. but yeah these guys are right. it'll just come naturally. you'll know when to breath if you just stop thinking about it.
Kisses for me are a trance-like experience. You shouldn't think about anything but the kiss. Breathing through your nose is fine.
When normal kissing gets boring, try breathing through your ears for a bit of variety.

I would wait until the significant other is ready. As I am a guy, I can give info on the "fairer sex". If she's cuddling up to you, you're good to go. Don't be nervous, just think about everything you love about her. Believe me, you'll like your first kiss more if it's a little bit spontaneous. (As in, not "I'm going to kiss you now")
Fuck making out, butt heads really hard then spend the next ten minutes staring into each other's eyes in agonizing pain.
what kind of advice is that! Anyway I too have never had my first kiss yet, so I suggest you watch kissing scene's from romantic movies. Surely they'll help
I guess in perspective of timing your breath...I find that when you're both into it, you automatically breathe, especially to breathe the person's scent in. Yay for yummy pheremones!
