Seems like everyone gets some contructive input here. I mine as well give it a try. Well you see, right now I'm not in the best condition. Only 4 or 5 years ago I was 200 lbs. 10 percent bodyfat. I was is in the prime of my physical life and my self esteem was throught the roof. Right now I'm 320 lbs., at the worst shape of my life. And I feel physically unattractive. Before I was very well liked by females. Girls were always wanting to get to know me. Now I'm in a major slump. I can't wear the nice clothes I used to. I don't have the same strut as I used to. Although people do tell me that I have a great looking face and that I have a great peronality. I'm wondering should I put in effort into finding a great girl in my current state or should I diet and exercise my heart out and wait to find a lady then?
My best no bullshit advice:
Don't worry about it. You sound like you want to get back in shape because you want to feel better. Please do that.
Don't worry about it, live your life and talk to people. Steer clear of grumps and assholes. Eventually you will get what you want.
RIght now, you feel disappointed with yourself because you are not in great shape. As a result, your confidence might be low. It's always important to have a lot of confidence and self esteem so you should work out and make yourself feel good.
What do you classify as 'finding a girl'?
First off, thanks for the advice guys. As for "finding a girl"..I guess I mean...Boy thats a great question. Now that I had a chance to reflect... thats pretty tough...umm lets see. You see, I feel like I can't get a great girl right now cus my self esteem is low. I used to think it was just a matter of my looks...but honestly, i feel i won't be confident unless i'm fit. Others have told me to accept that I'm fat and find someone who will look passed my weight. But I think physicalities really do matter. There has to be a physical attraction. And I think in the current state I am, 120 lbs heavier. I couldn't get the quality of girl I could have gotten if i was in shape. Hope that clarifies things.
well if u meet someone the go for it, but in the mean time just lose weight and do whatever u do. Still try to be confident eventualy you'll get back in shape but that might happen after you meet a girl.
It sounds to me that you only desire a purely physical relationship. And if that's what you want, I suggest you get in shape. You shouldn't be on 4-chan to ask for romance advice, but for dieting and exercise tips.
Well a purely physical relationship is definitely what I'm NOT looking for. If I'm going to be with someone I want to be physically attracted to them. I've never met a female so charming that I overlooked her physical appearance. For me, looks and physical appearance are both very important.
correct me if im wrong, but looks and physical appearance are the same thing, i dont understand what your trying to say.
C'mon you couldn't get what I was saying from the paragraph. You guys should help people not judge people. Thanks for your help.
I was confused as well while reading that paragraph.
I still don't understand what you mean by 'finding a girl'. You mean going to clubs and parties, or just generally keeping your eye out?
well its obvious that you should get fit again unless you want a girlfriend the same size as you. I have a friend whos fat and all his girlfriends were the same size as him. He didnt seem to mind.. whenever he talks to me about her i dont have much to say
"Whenever he talks to me about her i don't have much to say". That's hilarious! But you guys are right. To get the girl I want, I'm going to have to make some sacrifices.
You're just another normal guy needing to feel confident. When you see a pretty girl it makes you see yourself and lose confidence. It's normal, and you know what? Just go for it! Don't feel like you can't do it cuz "Any man can get any girl."
However, You should take care of your diet. People in America are more propense to obesity since they don't have a healthy food culture (Americans think carbs make you fat and Atkins works). I got some far-east cultural background and Japanese/Korean food makes you thin and is healthy (oriental rice as the staple). Yeah, work out too.
