in which we discuss eiji otsuka's translated manga and why there isn't more of it

'Kurosagi Delivery Service of Corpse':
Note, i only have the one chapter that has been (to my best knowledge) translated. Interesting characters, meh art, excellent cover design, fun concept. However the people translating it called themselves 'the juppon gatana' which gives me reason to doubt their sanity and sense of taste, plus they used silly fonts

'Leviathan':
Strange, psychadelic, stellar art buy yuu kinutani, loads of different mysticism things mixed together and a badguy named Nietzche, can't go wrong with that. Translated by omanga & the hawks, the later volumes seem quite shoddily translated and are occasionally incoherent, quite good fun nonetheless.

'MPD Psycho':
Strange, makes little sense, bizarre cast of characters, again, cool covers, stellar art, immaculately dressed host of characters. Translation by omanga & the hawks, is good for rereads because the first one (for me at least) didn't really make a lot of sense.

'Madara':
Old, generic concept, generic characters, reminded me of claymore, in a bad way. Nothing special really (although this is judging by the two chapters i have so maybe it gets better). It's licensed too so who cares. Omanga project, yeah.

'Japan':
Another Omanga & Hawks project, again only one chapter done. Decent art, hard to comment seriously after only 33 pages so meh.
