I picked it up the first few volumes in December for flight reading and its been an addiction ever since. This is the first entire manga story I've attempted to read and I'm almost done (currently Ch. 69, Volume 15). I checked out the first few episodes of the His & Her Circumstances anime, but didn't like it (maybe it was the sucky english dub?).

But the manga is awesome and I love all the characters. Asaba is my rolemodel ^_^.

Kare Kano is great, I always hated Asaba tho - especially at the end.

I've read the first volume. I tried to read the second volume online but I disliked Arima. I guess he's just not the sort of character that appeals to me.

The end huh? Well I'm almost there

I read the entire series and I can guarantee you a good read. Its sad when it ends. The anime isnt as good because Anno tried to make another Evangelion out of it and failed horribly. They didnt even finish the series in the anime for obvious reasons.

Well I finished Volume 15 today. Wow....Arima's past got intense. Really sad too.

You should really give it a chance again Sen.... Arima's not my favorite either, but Miyazawa should be enough to pull you in.

I watched the first volume of the anime and I didn't get the same feeling from the manga at ALL. Everything went to fastpaced it felt...they shoulda just sticked with the material. I like the opening theme though.

Another problem with the anime is that there's about a 5 minute recap at the beginning of each episode. Totally unnecessary. Also, paper cut outs. LOL.

Arima keeps getting better as the series goes on so stick with it.

I'll give it another go. Of course I will, Kare kano is one of those series that seem to be a 'must read' if you like shoujo!! I'll probably grow to like him later on in the series.
If his past gets as intense as you say it does, I will have to read it!! I'm a sucker for characters with dark pasts. ^_^

He doesn't remain 'perfect' all the way through does he, though?
Because he's really annoying in that way.

No he doesn't lol. The first half is most from Miyazawa's point of view and the stories are mostly about her...then in the middle it's a few volumes about their friends and their relationships...and then the second half of Kare Kano is the Arima arc.. THATS when things get intense. I'm eating the chapters up!

Kare Kano was a great series. Reiji's past was really sad and arima was somewhat crazy at times.
I like how Tsuda's style got better with time.

The whole tsubasa/kazuya arc was a drag though
