This should be interesting, given that 4-ch is FULL of people who'd rather not speak English if they couldn't. So, gather a song of your local linguistic tounge, and post it. Also, do tell us what language it's in. Rapidshare is prolly a good place to host it.

Some of their tracks have a message in them about how the authority sucks, school sucks etc. but it's not very deep. The rest is just party rap. Rapping about rap, chicks... :S

Ok, that's your opinion. I think there is more message in the Finnish rap, because most of the English ones tend to be partycrap. Paleface is good though.

I'm french too, and I'll have to second IAM and, to a lesser extent, Akhenaton. They're oldschool with a serious groove feel, and most of the time very clever writing.

Some other bands I'd recommend; what I like in rap/hip-hop is how the group sounds, and how clever the lyrics are. I can't stand "party" or "gangsta" rap, and most things that are too politically inclined à la "Society sucks ghetto blah blah":
*Svinkels: Rap/Punk. The punk influences is less pronounced in their last album (they changed producer) which is more electro. They have absurd and provoking lyrics, and they have a good sound that you can probably still enjoy without the meaning.
*Stupeflip: these guys are just... plain crazy. It's a rap band and so much more. They have a very special universe that deserves to be explored, I don't know if there are any international resources on them or if you'll have to do some digging and translating. I can't really compare them to anything.
Java: "Rap Musette". Rap mixed with French folk, they rap about a lot of things, often pertaining to alcoholism and such. *Very French.
*Syrano: Also "Rap Musette", but draws inspiration from Manouch music, etc. Lyrics on the poetic side, even if often denouncing facts of society. Both Java and Syrano use live instruments such as contrabass, accordion, guitars...
*Hocus Pocus: Funk/Hip-Hop. With emphasis on Funk. It's probably one of the band that has the less "alien" sound of those I posted; they sing about a lot of things, being either critical or contemplative. They have a nice reflection on the state of Hip-hop in France, called Hip-hop. The music video is awesome, I recommend you check it out.
Last but not least: TTC. Electro-rap, absolutely crazy, very special sound, and very, *very offensive lyrics. Absolutely hilarious to some, and disturbing to others.

Here, have fun with that. Most of the bands you can listen just for the sound, because they do not sound generic, really - you can probably just enjoy that. But don't miss out on the lyrics if you care to bother. By the way, the old DJ/producer of Svinkels is one of the members of Birdy Nam Nam, and the singer/producer of Hocus Pocus is with C2C, if you've heard of them.
