Do you also think this is just some empty promises?
I don't really get what the software is for, but afais, you only learn to remember where each note on the fretboard is. I don't really get how they can promise to become a 'genius' guitar player in less than 60 minutes, because (in my opinion) that's theoretically and above all theortically impossible.

2 Name: ♪ ☆ Unpopular Popstar ☆ ♪ 2005-06-23 18:44 ID:sZVCVO0C

That whole thing sounds like an infomercial. There's no skill in the world that could be taught in 60 minutes, the human brain just doesn't work that way. Better to spend $30 on some introductory lessons, or find someone who knows how to play and just ask them to show you a few things. Or better yet, just pick it up and try stuff out. Lots of great musicians were self-taught, and no matter how you learn if you can't find a way to have fun on your own you'll never stick with it. Make your aim to enjoy the process of learning rather than trying to get to some particular "level" as fast as you can.

There is a bid difference between playing a few tunes even, and playing the guitar. I know lots of people who can play lots of bits of tunes well but can't hold a whole tune in a bucket. I don't think the technique sucks. It really helps remembering the notes very quickly by using that "imagination strategy" I've often heard about on TV. It is certainly more effective than trying to learn all the notes by heart.
But you must not make the mistake of thinking, once you've learnd all the notes, that you can play like Steve Vai or Eric Clapton. This is totally unrealistic. In fact this method only helps remembering the fretboard, it doesn't teach anything about technique or speed. Don't believe everything the guy writes on his page ("play any chord in any shape anywhere on the guitar neck in the speed of light" for example).

I know the notes, but he promised i would be able to play the guitar Geniously. how come I cant press down the strings without my fingers burning!? Do you have a method that helps strengthen my hands and grow calaces (or however you spell it). This didnt stop me tho, I decided i would play some metallica songs with my newfound talent.. I am pretty sure this guy is making a false sales pitch, but even if I can derive at least some bit of lesson from it, it would be worthwhile. So why not try it?
