So, we all know that 2channel is insanely popular in Japan. But my question is: just how big is it? Is it the only big site out there in Japan, or are there other popular ones? What other kind of sites do Japanese like to go to? And just how many Japanese internet users actually visit 2ch?

mixi is closer to facebook i'd say, in terms of customization. I think you can only upload about three thumbnails, and i never figured out the commenting system, although i sent messages often and got plenty of friend requests. i couldn't keep up so i just quit.

I know it's too late to response..
Mixi is one of SNS that's similar to "hi5".
invite-only registration, viewer tracker, etc..
and many mixi users hate this tracker function.
