Hey anon, if some of you recall, Dan Aykroyd was in a film dubbed "Dan Aykroyd: Unplugged" where he talks for an hour and a half about UFO's and the like. one of his stories takes place in the mid 80's - he feels compelled (as do around 12 000 others) to go outside at 3 am. his wife tells him to go back to bed, and he does. the next morning in the papers and the radio in upstate new york, Ontario, and Quebec, people reported seeing this giant (like two mile high) pink spiral. later explained as a "chinese rocket". Anyway, he's told this story often enough, but I can't seem to find the actual article from the event? can anyone find it?

it's funny and suspicious - tons of websites use Dan's story as a reference, and talk about it, but I've yet to see any site directly reference the article. Man, people are getting too trusting with their news... they always assume SOMEONE is going to make sure the source is actually there... I mean, how many of you have added random references to texts for an essay you did, just to make it look like you researched it more?

Why do all UFO sightings happen at night?

they don't. at all.

although, all vids of the Delta types are taken at night - might mean that Deltas are actually just a formation of smaller UFO's. not that implausible, since many UFO that are sighted are in formations.

I beg to differ...

12,000 other people? And nobody brought a video camera?

Anyone can pull a story out of their ass, and even convince a lot of people that it's true, but evidence is where it's at.

While not having brought a video camera isn't particularly amazing, not having brought a phone with a video camera in it is rather spectacular when you take into account how many people have those on them at all times.

Umm, Akroyd claims this event took place in the mid-1980's - no one on this version of the Earth had cellular phones, with or without cameras, in the 1980s.

Cellular phones (sans camera) existed in fair numbers in the 1980s.
They were about the size and mass of a brick.
