Back to the military or college? What should I do? (2)

Hi everyone. My name's Matt and I'm a 23 year old, white male from Tennessee. The reason I've decided to post is because everyone is complaining about 4-ch being dead, and all I've been doing is lurking. I want all of your crazy ass opinions on this! OK, here goes: I just got out of the Marine Corps on a General, under honorable conditions discharge. (still considered "honorable" but one step below it) I recently applied to and was accepted back to East TN State University in Johnson City, TN. I've opted for a major in speech, with a minor in Japanese. I went to ETSU back in 2001-2002 as an undeclared, but after I got out of the Marines, I knew I wanted to be a translator. Hence, speech major.

Anyways, I got a wild hair a few weeks ago and went to talk to an Army recruiter about military options. What can I say? I love the service. He said that because of my discharge type, I have to wait until May 2008 before I can go back in, but it will be a full re-instatement and I can even get bonuses.

I was excited to hear that I could go back into the military, but then that created another prob for me: Should I finish school and get a civilian diploma or just go to work full time, save money, and go back into the service in '08 and get the translator training through the army?

Another concern: If I was to go into the Army with a college degree I could get an officer's commission, but I really want to do the Airborne, spec-ops translator stuff! I don't just want to sit in the rear with the gear and do planning and after action reports. I want to get into the SHIT!!

What do you all think?

Quite frankly, I believe the army will fullfil most of your wishes if you join, they're starved for people.
