In a typically stupid way. I just wasn't paying attention. I probably shouldn't have been driving that night, just didn't really feel "present". Wasn't paying attention, and I figured the hitbox on my car was a lot smaller than it actually was.
Feels like somekind of typically stupid thing that should be expected of me, but I have to convince myself that most people total their cars at one point or another, right?

I bashed the driver's side of my car on a pole... Nice gash in the side, took out the sideview mirror. There was a tiny mark on the pole, which disappeared after about a week. $2000 for a new door, installation, painting, etc. The good news? Unlike most people who replace doors, it looks like nothing ever happened.
Not quite a totaling of the car, but something I'll never be able to live down. It's already become legendary among local groups.
