cheers to all those who're working (policemen, retail/salespeople, restaurant/cafe servers, army personnel, doctors, nurses etc.) who've given up their new years eve whether by choice or not, so the rest of us can enjoy it!

I decided not to go to two parties I was invited to. I just wanted to sit at home.

I like being alone, but for some weird reason I always feel depressed on dec 31, I bought to bottles of vodka so I'll drink until I pass out, hopefully I'll die for drinking too much!

There is this family gathering in my cousin's house. My siblings recieved invitation while I am not. Should I come to the gathering? I want to be there tonight, but in some way I want to be alone too.

Stop whining. Everybody spends a few NYE alone or at work. Just get completely drunk and hang out on IRC or something.

I kinda despise New Year, it's where all the FAKENESS emerges..everyone suddenly forgets their problems and try to put on a happy face. What makes me puke more is seeing those couples kissing at the end of the countdown, proving once more that the universe is kind to some and a king's fool to others.

No, i'm happy here alone, away from the sheep, away from humanlife. No if you'll excuse me, i'll go read the lastest messiah complex where none of that matters.

Nah, I have people to spend it with.

Boring people, we'll probably spend the evening watching movies and doing nothing else. But at least I won't be alone.

>>10 i agree. after all, its just another day of the year turned into an excuse to drink and do drugs. its not like we go around saying, happy tuesday or anything. whats the big deal, the human race survived another pointless year of its own self-destruction. fail fail fail

I'm in my bedroom watching the Twilight Zone marathon.

Is it just me, or does it seem that only people who drink/do drugs are depressed around this time? Everyone I know who does not drink or do drugs is never sad on New Year Eve/Day. (Or Christmas, Valentine's Day, Etc.) Coincidence?

I don't drink or do drugs, and I feel sad on every NYE. It's one more year that I've wasted, one more year that I'm getting older. I try to treat it like a normal day, but when it hits 12 and I hear stuff outside it's like a slap in the face from reality.

I hung out with a friend and his girlfriend on New Years. It was kinda fun.

I'm drinking lots of wine and vodka, I wish I'll die while I sleep too...

Worked night shift through the new year...

21 Name: Anonymous : 2008-01-01 14:18 ID:Heaven

I watched anime until 5am. Though I did it on drugs, so you might say I was at least in the new year spirit.

22 Name: Anonymous : 2008-01-01 15:13 ID:Heaven

I went to sleep at 10 PM.

Thinking about the new year just depresses me.

I can't even remember what I did, and it was only yesterday.

> seeing those couples kissing

Yeah, that gets me down too when I don't have someone of my own to share the moment with.
But I feel putting up with it at a party is still better than spending the night alone. Especially if I'm not the only one.

>>15 no its not just you. that statement makes perfect sense. if a person is used to going out and partying they will naturally feel jealous and lonely on new years if they cant get to a party or their friends ditch them or whatever. but as i said before, its only another day of the year, they can go drink n shit with their friends the next day or something.

26 Name: Anonymous : 2008-01-02 02:57 ID:Heaven

slept through it.
was woken up by fireworks.

28 Name: Anonymous : 2008-01-03 15:02 ID:ZTs5LX9D

stayed at home, played with computer, no friends, no family, nothing... thankfully it didn't bother me this year. I remember this hapened a couple of years ago, and i was sooo depressed i was stuck all by myself.

29 Name: Anonymous : 2008-01-03 23:45 ID:LMvady9g

Went to a massive party but I was the oldest one there (high school party and I am 20)

I think we care just too much about this. I've never spent it exactly like I wanted to, but it never made me sad about it (maybe a little angry at times). This surely doesn't mean your year is getting ruined 'cause it had a not-so-good start.
You've still got a lot of time to see the people you want, and maybe if you go out with them now, they'll understand how you really wanted to be with them.

Well I still have mixed feelings about New Year's. I was kindof... I don't know, molested I guess. I mean it wasn't really necessarily unwilling, but I was kind of pressured into it. You see we were playing truth or dare, and since I was the only guy there, a lot of it was focused on me... And to top it all off, my discomfort dampened my experience to the point that even with the three of them messing with me for a couple hours... I couldn't even finish. It was the most damnably frustrating thing ever.

I was chatting with my girlfriend, and another normal friend, played eroge and drank some sparkling wine.
Really.. What the fuck..

I don't know how you did it, but you managed to describe a foursome more listless and depressing than any loner's New Years Eve in his parent's basement.

It takes a special kind of fail and a special kind of self-deterring nature. Thus, I considered it a fitting post in this thread. Oh wow, what a fail.
