Classmate [advice] (17)

I started at college a year and a bit ago, my classmates are generally alright. As the year went on ,things started to change and I found little annoying perks and quirks with each of them. A major one has been around for ages, but I only started to take it seriously.

Once I made a passing comment about Lolicon, and now people think I'm a pedo. Sure, I like Lolicon, and i make jokes about it and that, no problem with that. Until it starts getting used in an extremely negative light by a few people, making up jokes and saying things between themselves. I feel like i'm being used as the glue that bonds them together sometimes.

At the start of my course, we all added each other to myspace, etc. One of my friends sisters (12 years old) added some guy in my class through my profile, because they're both emo. They've been talking and chatting for around a year, they even met in secret. He confessed his love to her. Let me just get it clear, He's 20 and she's 13 now.

This guy frequently makes jokes about me being a Lolicon. Its pissed me off to a degree where I think I should tell other people about his relationship out of spite. She's kinda dumb, she even posts stuff about it on myspace bulletins, so theres no lack of evidence or information.

Should i do this? Sorry for the long post by the way.

I made a passing comment about it, I didn't say I rape kids.

I don't see how you can just slip lolicon into a conversation

If you really want to say that to him, then say in it private. Calling him out in front of a ton of people won't help the situation, it'll just piss him off and he'll look for other ways to try and embarass you in front of people.
If it were me i would first take him aside and ask him to stop (again, don't do it in front of other people), and if he continues to do it, then bring him aside again and mention his relationship. Don't embarass him, though, it'll be really bad for you.

That is exactly what I was gonna do. I have his MSN, I'll talk to him there. He is pretty annoying as a person though, all he ever does is complain.

I'll take your advice.

It slipped in to a joke. I think I let my 4chan times and real life overlap for a split second, I didn't even think about it, it was one of those 'old enough to x' jokes.

Next time he makes a joke, just feign innocence:

"Alright jeez man. I'm a pedophile. I slipped it in as a joke. It's not like I would actually date a 13 year old girl."

Perhaps with a little more subtlety, but you get the picture.

>Alright jeez man. I'm a pedophile.

how exactly would that be feigning innocence? DO NOT SAY THAT

If all else fails, tell the girl's father about it.

PROBLEM SOLVED

Bad idea.

People are incredibly, INCREDIBLY stupid. It's hard to believe, yes, but it's true. I found out that my Macroeconomics professor doesn't even know what imaginary numbers are. Neither did any of my classmates. My philosophy professor speaks in fallacies as if he's baiting us into arguments. He isn't. He has no idea what the fuck he's ever talking about. Sigh.

hehe, i once had a psychology professor who believed in the hundredth monkey phenomenon and spent a whole day detailing how we could actually communicate to one another through shared lucid dreams. like if persons a and b walked into the same room in their dreams they would meet and be able to prove they had met afterwards. which was entertaining for about the first month, then just got old.

back on topic: first off, quit making jokes about it (if it weren't lolicon this was about, this would probably suffice, given a month or so). second, if they're just teasing about it, stop responding to the jokes, or maybe respond with something like "alright, alright" (which is hard as hell to convey correctly via the intertubes). whatever you do, just don't give them more material.

if they're your friends, they'll eventually stop, and if not, they're assholes (in other words, idk how to deal with them lol)

My point was that he should try to give them impression that they've gone to far with the joke. Like it's "old news". And then feign innocence by slipping in the "at least I don't date little girls cough thirteen cough". The others will just see it as a passing comment, but if he has half a brain he will know what you're trying to suggest.

The pulling him aside to talk to him (in person or msn) makes it seem like you're kind of high strung, and can't take a joke (albeit, a bad one). I usually reserve those one on one talks for more serious matters. If you feel you need to directly let him know that you have a problem, I would probably say something along the lines of, "Okaay...that's getting annoying now..do you mind?". Unless he has a grudge against you, or is a no-brainer, he should stop.

OP:

I told him via msn. Well, I had to go out, so I told the girl in question to tell him, since he's her bitch. After apolagetic messages, it seems alright.
