Hey all. I'm considering future room mates right now, and one dude in particular is a bit of a case. He's a really fun dude and I enjoy his company and I think he'd make a fun room mate, but he totally has B.O. I don't know what it is, but sometimes it's hard to me to be in an enclosed space with him. This is kind of a deal breaker for the "room mate" situation, no amount of coolness can overcome physical discomfort of his inhabiting the same building as me. I'd really like to have him as a room mate though, but I don't know what to do. Do I ask him to shower more or use a different antiperspirant or what? He's not a big dude at all, so it's not typical fat dude sweat. I don't think I've ever seen him sweat, actually. I'm at a loss. Help?

Oooh... I hate that. Some people just really don't realize that they freaking stink. I have known a few people like that- I discovered that the best way to deal with it is to be honest, but not be nasty about it. Just be kind of matter-of-fact- "Dude, you are awesome and everything, but you need to use some deodorant, you're killing me here."

I don't think there is an easy way to call attention to something like that.
Where does he live now? Did he have access to a shower there?

Consider that he might just be an unclean person; do you want to put up with that all the time; always being the one to do the dishes/laundry, etc?

i have a good friend who had terrible b.o. all the time. just be truthful. though, it doesn't help that i am a fairly blunt person with little to no regards for one's feelings.
