the meaning of life (31)

1 Name: anal otoko : 2008-04-20 20:42 ID:KJG4moDb

I'm an ex geek/otaku (borderline hikikomori) but I recently managed to get a girlfriend and now I go out 1 or 2 times a week with my friends, with her or with her+her friends.
This has been going for a while, ~ a year.
Still the things I enjoy the most are the same as when I was total geek, and now I crave them much moar!
So wut is teh meaning of life? I spent 25 years happily nerding with my pc, while crying every night because I was alone and a virgin, but now that I'm more normal I still want to spend all day with my pc.
And I still think that sex is overrated. I ACTUALLY THINK THAT FAPPING ALONE IS AS GOOD AS REAL SEX. (but I'm a cuddling champion)
BTW my coworkers invite me to go bar hopping and I turn them down because now, that I have the damn girlfriend finally, I don't give a fuck about social life anymore!! (again) Now that I have the girl I'm (temporarily) relieved of the weight of "being normal"!
BUT WUT IS TEH MEANING OF THIS? IS LIFE REALLY SO STUPID AND POINTLESS? ur opinion plz.

I think you think too much. I think you try to fit life into a little box while it's impossible.

I also think you're trying way too hard to troll. Also, "anal otoko" - seriously.

don't know if it's a troll or not
anyway to anyone who is looking for a meaning in life all I have to say is that a good mean to life is it meaninglessness
live, simply that

I'd provide you with guidance, but I can't be assed to look passed your deliberate spelling errors and ALL CAPS.
It reflects poorly on your perceived intelligence, so I assume you'd take everything at face value and forget it a week later.

Doesn't look like a troll. Too much novelty exhibited (breaking of lines combined with controlled outbursts, but not controlled enough to the point of being fabricated, and very possible [if not stereotypical] description of life)

OP: No.

>>1 i'm the same, now i think about it my recluse was the happiest period of my life. Sex is indeed overrated, but i think if you love someone, it's beyond that=love making (yes cheezy, but it's true). I've never felt anything, even for my girlfriend. I was in love once, but she escaped me. Anyways, i spend my time more inside and although i'm missing out on "destiny's girl encounters", i don't care anymore. I hate how society creates this ideal, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO LOVE COCOONING..and i'm one of them. Sure it's uncool when you keep responding :"i'm not doing anything in the weekend", they always look at you weird at work..but screw them.

Anywayz, go for it. Do what YOU LIKE. Stop choosing others before you, like i did in the past :" let's go to the city! To the movies! to the Whatefuckicare." NO, FUCK YOU IM MOtHAFUCKA STAYING HOME. CAPISH!

Downside?= friendships tend to be destroyed..i got like two friends left from five.

I must be either highly delusional or highly indifferent, because living in isolation for the past 18 years hasn't at all made me resentful, just incredibly happy.

Of which I started from about one friend, went to two, three, two, etc. The range of my friendship count is [1,3]. That doesn't matter at all though ^_^

I guess I should also add that the range of my nerdiness appears to be [-inf, inf]. lmfao

Life could be said to be about enjoying yourself, and feeling like you're getting somewhere/acheiving something.
It's not like your time has been pointless, op. You've had some experiences, learnt some things, and had some fun. Good job.
I don't think it matters whether someone is active and social, or a recluse, or whatever- they aren't really failing as long as they're enjoying their life to some extent, and are making some sort of progress.

im not a real troll, just faking it [cuz it's funny]. btw I luv my g/f. it's just that.. once, I thought the meaning of my life was to get out of geekdom. But I achieved it at 25 (and I want to get back in a little..), so what to do with the next 50 years?
I CAN't IMAGINE the lifes of all those who were born normal and had it easy from the start!(Maybe that's why the jocks like to waste themselves so much..?)

You really have no clue about what a troll is, do you?

The meaning of life is to pursue your goals and dreams, that is if you have any. If you have none, dunno then.

Life in itself is actually pointless, imo.

Now, check this out:
Some people actually ENJOY the nightlife, the clubs, whatever. They're social for its own sake.
Some others do not. They do the nightlife reluctantly, only for the sake of meeting a girl. For this type of people, duh, of course once you get the girl the activity is pointless.
And that's cool I guess.

One thing tho:
Social interaction is work. It's more work than being by yourself. But it's rewarding and healthy bc it builds stuff that matters, like friendships etc. It's not that it's more ENJOYABLE, it's more WORTHWHILE imo.

Likewise, sex with another is work, more work than fapping to your pc. But similar logic applies.

Anyhow, my two cents there.

Whether social interaction is work depends on whether you're an extrovert or an introvert. If you're an introvert, social interaction is work. If you're an extrovert, being alone is work.

Life is DNA's plan for making more DNA.

Well everyone has their own meaning of life.

If what you do makes you feel like you've accomplished nothing, then your just wasting your life away!
Do something that you've always wanted to try; rollerblading, ice-skating, scuba diving... so much more in life (:
Being on the PC all days and wondering 'what the hell? i've just spent (amount of time) on my PC! Have I no life?' is a big sign that you should start tearing yourself from your computer and go DO something.

Good luck<3

Finding a good Flash loop.
Then listening to it.

Forever.

meaning of life is to enjoy it. it is your choice to have fun hanging out with friends or crying alone at night.

The meaning of life is to give life meaning

More or less how I feel. Each person's life has an individual meaning, and that meaning is whatever the person makes it.

Meaning of life? Doing something that will outlast it.

25 Name: Anonymous : 2008-06-05 08:11 ID:22cXc8jC

Life is meaningless. Life is absurd. It would not be absurd if we did not try to give meaning to meaninglessness. That is, it would not be life.

Read philosophy.

Tiger got to hunt,
Bird got to fly;
Man got to sit and wonder, "Why, why, why?"

Tiger got to sleep,
Bird got to land;
Man got to tell himself he understand.

Here's what I say:

Why do we exist?
We exist to live.

Why do we live?
That's for you to decide

Find out how to make lasting, enduring happiness, make it stick, share the knowledge.
Meaning of life would be found, no one would wonder. We look for reasons because we're discontent.
