Am I being subject to horrible gossip? (10)

Hi all, im new to 4-ch.net, and it seems like a fairly reasonable place to talk about issues. I'm 21, starting the college experience over again, which has been heaven compared to how it was before. I love the school that I go to, and the people that I meet are great people. The problem is that recently i've felt like i'm being alienated by some of my peers. Though my roommate seems like a nice fellow, I feel like he's somehow blaming me for something. I don't exactly know why, but girls that I have never even met call me "creep" while im in my dorm room. I could understand fully had I had some serious problem or sexual issue, but I feel normal enough. Sometimes, when i'm talking to others, it's like they ignore my existance, like they know something about me that's supposed to be horrible.

Before I started college over, I was a wreck mentally and emotionally. I couldn't even leave the house without some sort of disillusioned paranoia about other people insulting me. I'm on meds now, and have gone to hiding in my house for months at a time to working on projects, talking normally to people, and enjoying life. But I feel like whatever is causing this distinct alienation is doing a number on my social life. What can I do in this kind of situation?

Ive been in this sort of situation while in high school, and all I can really tell you is to try to ignore it, or ask why your being called a creep. When it comes to enduring other people's judgments, there isn't much you can do about it.

I just don't get it. Why should I have to endure something when I have done nothing in the first place?

Uhm maybe your roommate is a creep and by assocation you are?

Because people won't take responsibility for their own problems and blame others. Then there's people who get their jollies starting pointless drama for no reason. It's sadly part of life, you should learn to deal with it in a constructive manner now rather than later. As #2 said, ask 'em what you did to warrant that label and trace the rumor back to its source. Either that or ignore them, and by ignore I mean don't even acknowledge that they physically exist.

maybe you are a bit creepy and don't know it
i have a problem with physical closeness, i often stand to close next to other girls without even realizing it, that probably creeps them out. a female friend often has to tell me to back the fuck off (in a friendly manner) because i'm too close again.

I think u should ask
If anyonme cames and call creepy , ask why and what u have done , don't be shy , u haven't done anything wrong so why u should take this type of things?
if u were me i would ask what's their problem , they got no right to judge u , they don't even now u , aren't ur friend or anything

I agree, talk to you doctor, maybe he'll give you a stronger batch. Like aspirin doesn't work for me at all anymore. I have to switch between other meds so my body doesn't adjust.

But other than that, I think you should ask because then you can defend youself against what's happening.
