I want to be a father, but I have no social skills. (10)

Lately I've been thinking a lot and I would really like to have a daughter.

I've been getting real close with my little sister lately (she's 12, 8 year age gap between us) and she's never really known what it's like to have a father; after our parents divorced we're lucky to see him once a year. I love being around her, but she's growing up and spending more time with her friends and not nearly as much with her poor older brother. The only solution I can thing of is to have a daughter of my own.

I came up with two solutions: either adopt a kid (can a single man even do this?) or find a women willing to accept me. The problem is I have no social skills, no driver's license, no job and my standards are too high. I've got money in the bank, but I'm afraid of being used because of it and having to get a job. I like cute, petite, quiet girls; what should I do?

i doubt you could adopt a kid, single parent is pretty hard. Plus you got no job and there is a money quota/living. You are gonna be supervised for an entire year or something with weekly checks(maybe it changed). Or start a family(?)

It seems you like working around children, why not become a teacher or something in that direction.

PS: i hope you are not a pedo,if so: ignore this advice.

Get a driver's license and a job asap. That'll help you with your social skills.

I have had jobs in the past and I am always remembered as the quiet guy that never really got close with anyone.

Be less quiet then.

I am always remembered as the guy who can't stop talking, but my most gorgeous gf ever has left me for a very quiet and deeky guy. Supposedly I generated too much drama and she just wants a quiet settled life.

Yeah and I prefer cute quiet petite girls too.

This thread is interesting. What you've shown is the kind of instinct one has for raising children. The 'mating instinct' to prolong the human race. From the point of view of evolution to combine genes with another mate you find attractive and throw in the gene pool, something to that effect.

Wait man. Wait. If you only want a daughter for yourself, how is she ever gonna develop into a functioning human being? Teen girls can find their dads anything from their best friends to their worst enemies to "the guy that buys me shit". So think carefully. Keep up what your doing with your little sister but give her her own time away from you. She needs it. Everyone does.

>I like cute, petite, quiet girls;

You said that your parents divorced and you rarely see your father.

This particular phrase suggests you want a daughter as a pet, not as a child.

You have no idea what being a father really is. Do not convince yourself that you do.

>>9 in all fairness, almost nobody (m/f) knows what it means to be a parent, before your first child (and sometimes it takes years, if ever, to understand it).

What I think is needed is the understanding that you are raising an independent human being, and that you need to be ready to prioritize him over yourself, when it needs be.
