I am an 18 year old high school student with little prior work experience who is a run-of-the-mill introverted socially awkward teenager. The problem is that being 18 with my skill-set and disposition severely hampers my job opportunities; the only job I could see myself landing is something in customer service, and having served in that miserable field for my past two jobs I can safely say it is something I never want to do again. Here is my question for you, what is something an introverted 18 year old high school student can do for part-time work that isn't customer service?
Are you planning on not going for college/any other further education or are you just looking for a way to make some quick money on the side of school?

It's actually for the work experience program my school runs. To get the credits I would need to graduate I need to work about 250 hours; I'm just hoping to make those 250 hours as painless as possible for me.
And in case your wondering, I do plan on attending post secondary.
If it's for school, ask either the person in charge of the program or people you know that have been through it themselves what they would recommend. There might be some small local business that would be content to give you a job working in the back doing something easy that doesn't involve talking to people.
I don't know if it would be part of your school program, but a job stocking shelves or something at a small store might be a good idea.

I think my best bet is to just keep bugging my local library about a job; there I'd only have to put the returned books back out and organize the shelves.
250 hours stacking shelves? It may go "painlessly", like you hope. But you're not really doing yourself any favors with such a job.
