i couldnt find a religion section of 4-ch so i decided to post this on the personal issues sections cause i needed help from here anyway.

To make a lifelong debate, short; im not christian, however my mom is as christian as a christian can get.

Think of a stereotype of a super-religious person and thats probably what my mom is.

She even wants me to quit my job cause i have to work on sunday. (for people that really doesnt know thats the sabbath day and youre suppose to keep it sacred by not doing anything except going to church)

she believes that satan is following me everywhere cause apparently since i dont believe in god, satan is obviously corrupting my mind......facepalm

i have talk to almost every single person in her church saying that im not christian (also told my mom directly, multiple times), but that just added fuel to the fire and the bother me even more now.

This is just getting ridiculous, because i cant move away due to financial reasons plus shes gets very sick often.

so what should i do?

What CAN you do? Just grit and bear it, for now. I have a mother who is very unpleasant at times as well, whether I provoke it or not. I have realized that I push her buttons as well as she does me, so I have started a campaign of not only thinking good thoughts toward her, but not buying into her bait, and not baiting her. Things are gradually getting better, but she will never be perfect to me, I don't think. She will always do things that aggravate me, the only thing I can do to make it better is not to respond negatively.

FWIW....

Best wishes, whatever happens.

I'm in the completely opposite direction. I go to Catholic Church every Sunday. But there's absolutely no way I could be Catholic because my Parents are completely against it, they don't mind Christian as they are Evangelicals, but there's no way they'll let me be Catholic. I get to go, though, because my neighbour is Catholic and my Parents don't go to church so I convinced them. I'm baptised or christened or anything but I believe in God and pray to him. I'm extreme, though. I don't preach, or push. It's just a part of who I am. Leave it be, don't mention it. The only people know is because sometimes I have to say - "Sorry, can't meet you on Sunday, I've got Church".
Anyways, my advice is to just leave it be. Don't mention it. Go to Church, but believe any of it. Church is just congregation, the actual holy part is the prayer and belief. Perhaps get a job on Saturday. that's all I can really say for now. Negotiate.
Since this was 2 years ago, I'm sure is this is helpful. But I did my best. Anonie xxx

Dude,
Wanna solve it real fast?

  1. Bear and grit it...at first. The more you struggle, the tighter its gonna get. Peoples are scaredy-cats, especially the so-called super religious (they ain't religious, just posers IMO). I mean shits happens around the world from Adam till The End, yet people still lives and yapping around like f&^%.
  2. Just listen to your mom, at least 5 minutes a day, fully hearing her out. Don't do anything else, give full attention.

I mean, she's YOUR mom, and she's a WOMAN. Woman wants someone to listen to them, anyone actually, and especially their kids. Do this everyday till she runs out of stuff to say. Go with her flow till she's shut up.
3. Determine what YOU want for yourself, not what SHE/OTHERS expect of you. You wanna be atheist, Buddhist, catist or whatever, its fine. Just do it on your free time.
Ok, peace out.
