To start with, I don't use cosmetics. I just take good care of my skin, and eyeliner or kajal is the only thing I apply on my eyes. That's it. I only use Vaseline or chapstick on my lips and only when there's a need- like winter or dry lips. No foundation or concealer, eyeshadow and all that.
Here's the story, This kind of thing has been happening for sometime now- my sister asking me to try things like Lipstick and Gloss.
Today, she made me try some nude lipstick on, despite my endless protesting. Then I guess I just let her do it just to shut her up. I didn't like it. No surprise. Every time she asks me, I just refuse without a second thought.
All I know is, I don't like the 'painted' feeling on my lips, and it smelt, no, reeked of chocolate. Fruity smells are okay (I have them in the chapsticks) but chocolate is just weird. And Gloss just reminds me of something drool-like even if it's applied well. It's totally thrown my mood off.
I just wish she'd keep those things away from me.
Sabatoge her lipstick and lipgloss. Put coloring in it or something. I don't like it either. I love the way I'm look and I take care of my skin. No need to add any extra stuff to make my face feel heavy, fake and sloppy. I know some people who love to cloud their faces with make up. I mean really heavy. -shudders- eww. Looks sloppy sometimes and when I tell them, they kinda get upset or try to make it better.
Force your sister to do the shitty things you like to do. Then she'll get the picture.

Well she doesn't cloud herself with make up, but she does look up products even if she won't necessarily buy them.
I don't know about makeup deeply but I don't feel the need for anything. I was wondering if I was ignorant. Guess I'm simply not a makeup fan then. Lining my eyes is as far as I'd go.

I wouldn't want to be too harsh on her because she is only trying to help. Like this one time- she did my hair for me once for the first rock concert I performed and even lent me her top.
She isn't bad but she can just be really persistent sometimes.

Maybe if you try some other brand you´ll feel better. Cheap brands of lipstick usually get you that feeling of a "creamy" lip, but more sophisticated brands will just make you forget you´re wearing anything.
On the other hand, if you don´t want any color on your lips, just don´t wear it. It´s simple as that.
Good for you OP, because I dislike my girls done up and everything. I prefer her to have no makeup on, and just wear plain clothes. Even shabby clothes I like.
Hey OP! Props for advocating a make-up free society! Unfortunately, the reality is that the professional world demands a "polished" look from their employees...hence the daily torture ritual of slapping crap on your face. I can put up with it because my crap-slapping routine consists of the bare minimum (tinted moisturizer, this hybridy lip balm/lipstick thing, and a little bit of blush). If I absolutely need it, then I'll use a little eyeliner, mascara, and maybe one swipe of eyeshadow. Anyway, back to the gunky lipgloss and creamy (a.k.a. mud-like) lipstick problem... If you want to try an alternative to Chapstick, I'd suggest either Clinique Almost Lipstick or any of Tarte's LipSurgence lip stains (try Original or the Lusters...Mattes tend to feel a little muddy). They feel like Chapsticks with the added benefit of a little color. You can apply as lightly or heavily as you wish but you will definitely not have that saliva-like or mud-like feeling. I forgot...another awesome option is Skinfood's Tomato Jelly Lip Tint. It's similar to the other two; but if I have to rank from most Chapstick-like to least, I'd say Skinfood, Clinique, and then Tarte.
No problem, Hikari! (That's your board name, right?) Good luck on your search for the perfect pseudo-lip/Chapstick! By the way, here's some more info to help you. Skinfood is Korean...so if you're in the US, you might have a hard time finding it. Clinique's Almost Lipstick only comes in one shade (I think they call it Black Honey...it looks really dark but is actually sheer in its application). And the Tarte stuff has the most color options but I think it's the most expensive. I got my Tarte lip thingies in a saver pack...I don't remember the price, but I remember that I wouldn't have bought it if I had to buy them individually. I ended up with three for a very decent price.
