too laid back for this world (4)

i'm beginning to fear that my personality is simply too laid back for me to survive out in the 'real world'.

i'm still at college, but doing an internship at the moment, and even though i'm doing what i love (photojournalism), i feel my attitude and 'image' makes me seem like i'm not interested/lazy/weird.

i'm serious about my work, and don't cut corners but not one to be overly enthusiastic and do things like actively ask for more work, and i'm very introverted.

the world needs individuals who can be 'assets' to companies and that's simply not what i'm cut out for.

I think you are overthinking these issues (which are real). I believe your best option is to contact professionals which you admire and get them to mentor you. You will learn how things work in a concrete way, instead of pointlessly speculating about your fears.

Personnally, I think that as long as you take care to maintain some time to develop personal projects that really interest you, you will do fine. The rest is just learning the ropes, like swimming or riding a bike: don't overthink, just do it.

Always annoyed me when self-proclaimed writers refused to capitalize anything while communicating casually.
