Online Communities (19)

For some reason I feel so awkward in online chatrooms, ircs, discords or whatever. I feel just as socially awkward as I do in real life despite my social presence being purely text. I haven't been able to really get into any online community or really get to know anyone due to this. Do any of you have any suggestions on getting over this?

I wish I had an answer to that. Therapy would be the logical solution. I suffer in a similar matter; talk therapy eventually helped me at one point but I quit for some reason. It does not help that some online communities discourage, shame, or otherwise treat you differently for being female... I just want human interaction again. It is difficult. :/ Best of luck; all we can do is try to push past the uncomfortable feelings.
