What do you think? Should we make some?

Like /code/ has, or like /dqn/, or something else? Can you elaborate or give an example? I'm open to the idea if they look good and fit!

I can see 日本語 getting active again now that /lang/@world4ch is no longer in use. Maybe we can do a few banners for more popular boards or we can submit just a few examples ITT

I'm glad to see /nihongo/ getting some use!

I think it is more suitable for the discussion for each board's banner to take place on the board itself (since perhaps the users won't otherwise see it, or maybe they don't even want one!).

I will start with /nihongo/ as a trial for what is a relatively active board on this site (ignoring DQN) and see how it goes. If it's successful then we'll move onto other boards and see if there's any interest.

As always, this process may take a while.

I do fear that the recent activity was just a short burst, though...

The "Ask Questions" thread ported over from world4ch might drive in some of the old users once they become aware of its new location.

However, if you guys want to see Japanese posters back on /nihongo/ you should consider developing support for showing flags or at least text displaying the poster's location.

From those I've had the pleasure of discussing the important topic of Internet BBS posting with, knowing the nationality of other posters is one of their favorite features.

Some poster maybe don't want others to know their location.
Maybe you can work with IDs here. On 2ch there is this thing that if you post from overseas your ID ends with ! I think. Or you could enable it by writing 'flag' or something in the email field. Just don't make it permanent and mandatory for everyone

You raise a good point. Honestly, I thought only enabling the feature on language boards, as the location of posters can be fairly relevant to the discourse there.

As with IDs, couldn't flags be disabled when posting with sage for the privacy-minded users?

That could work.

I like the way >>8 puts it. Stay tuned!

eww how disgusting

then if you dont make your location known you will be taken less seriously by some, like, it will encourage that
but the language board is just for "how you say cocksucking in your language" threads anyway
