Is it possible to implement HTTPS for the brighter future? For example, these guys even offer a disgustingly free one: http://www.startssl.com/

It would be horrible if KGB, employer or some kind of international conspiracy discover that I read DQN all day. There are probably some other users who need this protection as well.

I'm not keen on StartSSL because after a year you have to start paying, meaning we are back to square one. CACert looks promising - I will look into it.

https://letsencrypt.org/ will be launching in september. any chance of progress on this when that happens? it's completely free, and unlike cacert, will be trusted by default by browsers.

I would like to do a server-wide update before sorting out SSL. I'll try and get it all done over the Christmas break. Meanwhile there might be website downtime.
