The pair I'm currently wearing are about 4 years old, and in pretty poor shape, as well as not matching my prescription any more. So... I'm in the market for a new pair, that hopefully will be a little more stylish than what I'm currently sporting.
Apparently, the dark plastic, squarish, 'geek' look is big these days... but somehow, I think something like that would take me out of the 'nerd-cool' area into the realm of the simply 'nerd'.

So.... what should I be looking for in functional and fashionable eyewear?

Oh, here's a pitcher.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v109/naoh37/100_2354.jpg

Favorite Brands (8)

Simple thread. What are your favorite brands.

Denim - Levi's
Sneakers - Vans, Lakai, and I also love the Japanese brand Visvim, but I can't afford it.
Everything else I buy is according to style not brand, and I couldn't care less about the name on the tag if it fits my style.

My hair sucks. I'd like to grow it out like I used to have as a child; back then it was straight and looked terrific. However, now that I'm 21 it just looks like a mess - I don't even like to go to stylists because I find it embarrassing.

So here's my problem. Right now it's maybe 2 inches long. Where do I go from here? Do I go get it cut to let it grow, or just let it grow from here? The problem is how do I go from having 2 inch hair to longer hair, without the transition making me look bad? I'd like to get it thinned out, but only once it's longer. Should I go to a stylist and have it cut so it can grow out evenly, or what?

Halp, thanks!

Baggy Pants (3)

Hip pants or hippest pants?

[Tips and Tricks] Fashion do's and dont's (47)

Post things you've heard on shows about fashion, magazines, and all those little tricks you've found out yourself about the what to do and what not to do when picking out clothes!

Things I've learned from shows/magazines:

Horizontal stripes make you look wide and short.

Vertical stripes make you look thin and tall.

Princess seams in shirts and jackets make you look very feminine, but if you're on the heavy side, it's better to go with straight seams.

Natural fabrics almost always look better than synthetic fabrics, but natural fabrics wrinkle very easily while synthetic fabrics rarely wrinkle at all.

Makeup should either accentuate the eyes or the lips, never both.
