It's more or less a complete rip-off of mixi.jp, but geared toward language learning. You write journal entries in the language you are learning, and native speakers of that language can make corrections to help you. You can also make corrections to other users who are learning English or any other language you speak.

It's quite useful and incredibly easy to use. It's especially good for anyone learning Japanese, because it seems like that's where most of the activity is coming from. I've noticed a lot of Korean, too, but not so much in, say, Spanish. Still, join up and see what comes.

Just a recommendation.

Chinese is cool! I have a College Spanish book my brother gave me, and I was wondering if the Teach Yourself Spanish book was any good. It can be found on Amazon, and I've always found their reviews to be horrible. If not, what do you reccomend?

I'm going to practice my Spanish over LiveMocha with Spanish speakers in return for helping them learn English. Does anyone know any other good resources online for learning Spanish or a really good book? I can find a lot on google, but I know someone out there has saved a site he/she thinks is awesome.

Learning Japanese with a dictionary. Is it really retarded? I end up flipping open the dictionary A LOT but the number of kanji I recognize is improving and by now I definitely know most of the slang.

So.... am I actually learning or am I just lying to myself because I still can't understand a single episode of Anpanman and I only understood the opening theme by reading the Japanese subtitles.

I'd like to know if learning by dictionary is a naturally unhealthy and inefficient way to develop skills in a language, because I've heard some people say this, yet I find it no different from textbook vocab lists(which is how I learned Mandarin, but that was when I was young and a fast learner).

Someone who has completely learned or is teaching Japanese, help.
