TRON is the Japanese and worldwide computer project from 1984.
TRON has been started by Dr. Ken Sakamura of University of Tokyo.
DO YOU KNOW TRON ?
TRON is anti-UNIX.
TRON is NOT UNIX.
TRON is TRON.
UNIX is a machine on your machine.
TRON is an extension of your brain.
E.g...
Mac is a daughter of UNIX.
Win is a bastard of UNIX.
Linuxes are sons of UNIX.
Their are Abrahams as UNIX's sons.
But,
TRON is Amaterasu as it be from 0.
Because,
UNIX has a directory type filesystem.
TRON has a network type filesystem.
It is called "Jisshin/Kashin(Entity/Avatar) System"
;real object/virtual object system.
("Jisshin/Kashin system" was named from ancient Indian philosophies).
Jisshin/Kashin System is light.
Jisshin/Kashin System is good feel.
Jisshin/Kashin System is deep.
For,
UNIX is a machine on your machine.
TRON is an extension of your brain.
NOW, show TRON, know TRON and sow TRON into your mind and brain.
Dive in TRON and your brain by the network system.
"Net's world is boundless-dawa.", Major Motoko Kusanagi said.

have a look at this. http://tronweb.super-nova.co.jp/toppers-jsp.html.
please note that TRON is nothing more than a specification for a real-time operating system kernel.

Yes.
You can do BTRON dual-bootable with Windows XP/2000/98SE/98/95.
> please note that TRON is nothing more than a specification for a real-time operating system kernel.
NO!
TRON is not only a specification BUT also a big project.
Your's part of TRON.
TRON is a new and original computer project.
TRON is a Japanese worldwide computer project.
TRON has designs, specifications and OSs.
BTRON has a hyper-network system.
It's name is "Jisshin/Kashin (Entity/Avatar) System".
It is lite.
It is easy.
It is deep.
It lets you dive in your mind and brain.
BTRON's feature are these.
TAD (Tron Application Databus)
Jisshin/Keshin (Entity/Avatar) model
Ninble working
Direct operation
Enableware
TRON meta-code
BTRON is so great.
Mac ...a princess and servants
Linux ...a sadist and masochists
Win ...a tyrant and slaves
BTRON...a tool and a human
can it play half life 2?
it can't be that great of an operating system then
So, so sorry.
Let me guess. TRON is superior because it was invented in Saitama?
> it was invented in Saitama?
>>18
No, for Sakamura.
TRON is superrior because BTRON have Jisshin/Kashin model.
is that anything like JISAKU JIEN?

BTRON - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTRON
Business TRON (BTRON), is a computer operating system with graphical user interface (GUI) built upon Central TRON ([CTRON]), itself a subproject of The Real-time Operating system Nucleus (TRON). TRON was launched in Japan in 1984 as an initiative to create a single, universal operating system with an open architecture.
BTRON nearly became the world's de-facto desktop operating system. In 1989 the Japanese company Matsushita released an Intel-based PC with the BTRON operating system. Though it only had an 80286 processor with 2 MB of RAM, the system could render color video in multiple windows. The Japanese government planned to introduce the Matsushita PC in its schools, but the United States government objected, partly at the request of Microsoft, and threatened Japan with sanctions. As an indirect result of this TRON operating systems are primarily used in small devices, and the PC operating systems market is dominated by Microsoft's Windows operating system.
TRON is closed-source proprietary shit.
TRON is a set of specifications for Real-Time Operating Systems. The implementer can choose to release a TRON implementation as closed source or open source.
But are there any open-source implementations? Especially for BTRON?
Further questions:
2) Is there a C or C++ compiler for BTRON?
3) Is there a Python interpreter for BTRON?
4) Is there a Java virtual machine for BTRON?
5) Is there a flavor of TRON I can use as a server? Does it have PHP support? (I expect not because Server Side Scripting appears to be a mysterious beast to Japanese web designers. In fact, web design appears to be a mysterious beast to Japanese web designers)
6) What web browsers run on BTRON?
7) Has anyone designed a flash drive version of BTRON?
By the way, please don't respond to the language questions with a reminder of TRON's built-in MicroScript. I read a tutorial on MicroScript, I dislike it, and the above languages are meant to be very cross-platform anyway.
Saitama is basically the New Jersey of Japan. A disproportionate of weird news items seem to originate there. Making jokes about Saitama is very much a 2chan thing.
What if Saitama and Hoboken were sister cities?
>>28
1) There is an open source ITRON implememntation http://www.toppers.jp/en/index.html . It is dual licensed under the GNU GPL and their own licence. A page on the TOPPERS web site says you can run a completely Free (speech) Operating System with GNU/TOPPERS/JSP kernel
2) I guess so. The TOPPERS/JSP kernel is written in C.
3,4) Probably not. I've haven't read anything about Python or Java being ported to the TRON platform.
5a) If by server, you mean standard desktop machine designated as a server, then yes. You would probably want a BTRON implementation. see >>7,10 for links.
5b) I don't think so. I haven't heard of php being ported to the TRON platform.
6) I remember that there was a basic browser as well as Mozilla.
7) No news AFAIK.

What is this 'Jisshin/Kashin' system and what's so great about it? I can't find anything through Google. (The first result is this 'ere discussion heh.) Is there any information online about it? Preferably in English.
>>35
There are other names for the system, one being 'real object/virtual object'
some info here
http://tronweb.super-nova.co.jp/rovobasicops.html
I'm quite confused. Seems that 'real objects' are equivalent to data files. Not sure what the vo's are, or what's replacing the directory tree. Maybe I should, like, read the page.
Okay, I read through it. It seems like OO programming language concepts: pointers, objects and a garbage collector. I can see some benefits to having files organised in this way... I wouldn't have to put my pictures in separate arbitrary folders when they fit in two categories, without duplication. But you'd lose a lot. Maybe. Couldn't a file get lost in a maze on pointers? Is there a way to just look at what's on your HD, to see what's taking up memory? Actually... I'm sure you could set up objects connected to each other in a way to mimic a Windows directory tree. If you so desired. I'd like to try it out...

You can already do that, either using hard links or symlinks. Personally I find hard links to be more interesting, as it looks like a normal file but you can "delete" the file from one side and the data will remain.
As for figuring out where the storage is going, this is a common object database question funnily enough. Usually you have a root object that knows a bunch of other top-level objects. So enumerating over everything is possible through that. Assuming there is a good enough garbage collector, there won't be any stray files/objects which aren't referenced.
I just realized, working with OSes has to suck if you don't know English. Maybe TRON is an elaborate form of revenge by AZN hackers?
>>41
No. The TRON specs are designed to specify a ubiquitous computing environment. The three main computational architectures that the specs are supposed to support are small embedded systems, desktop systems and central and communication systems.
> You can already do that, either using hard links or symlinks. Personally I find hard links to be more interesting, as it looks like a normal file but you can "delete" the file from one side and the data will remain.
still not satisfactory as it has to physically be somewhere.
also I would be interested in TRON except I fear my computer might be taken over by the Master Control Program. :/
Yeah, it would have to be somewhere - as a pattern of bits.
But that's it. With hard links you basically have multiple filenames pointing to the same pattern of bits on disk. There is no "right" one. The various filesystems are really just specialized forms of databases anyway.
Also, why did you bump this thread?
Are there still no downloadable distros of TRON?
TRON is the best OS ever!
>>47
only because it doesn't actually exist.
Better than Linux in every way.
Tron "la lleva"...
maybe now that we have android (which actually exists!) these tron trolls will go away...
>>51
android doesn't have jisshin/kashin system
>>52
neither does tron, since it doesn't exist.
Where I can Download a Tron OS in english?
What I can do with software included?
Other software?
>>54
nowhere, nothing, and nothing.
Everyone here is wrong. Clearly, OS/360 is the best OS ever.
There are many links provided but nothing works... Plz give an working link to navin.konvict@gmail.com
can anyone show me what TRON is?
>>60
An elaborate Japanese hoax, an operating system that doesn't actually exist.
>>61
i realy don't get it...
it seems like TRON is realy exist...
>>62
Just try to find somewhere to download it... You can't, because it doesn't really exist.
>>63
then, is it just a concept and/or an architecture?
>>64
TRON is just a specification, but there is a tron-conforming open source os-skeleton available. Skeleton means it lacks code for communicating with processor and memory, if I remember correctly. It does have the higher-level interfaces and some drivers ready as well as the real-time time-allocation stuff.
Also, you already have an I(ndustrial)-TRON system if you have a Japanese camera or car.
This is the current project's web site: www.t-engine.org
So, TRON isn't 'non-existent' as some people seem to believe.
> it lacks code for communicating with processor and memory
well, that sounds really useful.
>>65
is there any tutorials to implement it?
and can you give the os-skeleton's download link?
http://www.t-engine.org/download/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=123
This is the main source. There is also t-microkernel and some packages I don't really know about. If you want to get a t-kernel running you should know your target system's memory management support and the type of processor. It's possible, but if you can do it you can just walk in to some software company and ask for a job. I haven't found any 'ready-to-go' source packages.
In August 12th of 1985, Japan Airline Boeing 747 crashed into the forest. Official story is that the top rudder broke off. What was interesting is that U.S. Army stationed nearby were the 1st to arrive. Official story is that the Japanese government needed to save face and so they ordered the U.S. to back off. The truth is that back in the U.S. of A, they passed a law banning Japanese Operating Systems for computers. 80's was booming with Japanese electronics in the U.S. It was strategically important to not allow any foreign entity to have a monopoly on computer information. Microsoft won with their OS and we all know that there's a backdoor to the OS for the NSA to peak into. Well guess who was on board on the ill fated airline. . . All 17 programming engineers that were involved in the Japanese TRON OS was on board that plane. Because this happened so long ago, not very many Japanese, especially the young ones that don't even remember such crash ever happened in their back yard, know of this.
