I need some serious help. I woke up this morning and booted my computer. When I checked the hard disk D, it says that the disk is not formatted. The disk is 250gb and contains all my media files so I need to get it to work again. Anyone?

what type of filesystem was on the disk? what operating system are you using?

Sorry for the late reply. The filesystem was NTFS and it is a Maxtor 250gb one, so a recent HDD.

Okay, I have tried some programs such as PCInspector, and managed to recover some of the files on the damaged disk. But apparently there are damaged sectors which lead me to believe that the disk might be physically damaged. I guess the only thing I can do now is to retrieve as much files as I can and buy a new HDD. Thanks for the help everyone.
