Currently-being-sold Macrovision-free DVD players? (4)

Ok, my old Apex 3-disc changer DVD player's starting to get a little flaky in it's old age, and I'm looking for a slim, new player...

However, the Apex was "hacked" using a code input from the remote to be both Region Free and Macrovision turned off...

My problem is that I have a DVD Recorder I run the player through, before the output goes to the television, and if I buy a "normal" DVD player, with Macrovision turned on, the Recorder treats this as though I was trying to record copyrighted DVDs (even though I'm not "recording", just watching 'em as the input passes through the recorder), and causes Light/Dark fluctuations, sound wavering, etc... (As anyone who's seen the effects of macrovision can attest)...

Anyway, since the Apex's aren't being sold, does anyone know of a cheap DVD player currently sold at retail chains in the USA, that can be hacked to disable the Macrovision??

Yeah, I've looked at a few on videohelp.com, but I was moreso wondering if anyone's actually bought one recently from a retail store, and could just instantly recommend one (to avoid all the "Ok, this model does this, and that model does that" hunting that's inevitable...)

(The biggest thing I was looking to avoid was going to retail stores & writing down all the model #s, then researching every one of them... I was hoping someone who'd done that recently would recommend one...)
