[A/V] Replace composite cables with S-Video? (3)

Right now, I have a video signal going from the wall into my cable box, from there to my Series2 (standard def) TiVo, from there to a DVD player/recorder, and from there to my TV. All the cables involved are composite (yellow/red/white) cable groups, except the one to the TV, which is HDMI. It's an upconverting DVD player.

I was wondering, would I gain any picture quality by switching any or all of the video cables to S-Video? I understand that S-Video carries the chroma and luma signals on separate wires, so I thought it might improve the color quality, even if the resolution is the same. I also wonder if switching the HDMI out for S-Video would improve anything too, since my $1000 TV set probably has a better upconverter than my $70 DVD recorder from Woot.

It does improve the video quality, but it's not a miraculous improvement.
