Ram problem (2)

ok so I'm running this very old Emachine, a T3828 model made back in 2002. Just lately I've tried to upgrade the Ram from 246MB to 1G of RAM. But after plugging in the ram with or without the 246MB Weird Yellow lines take up the screen, and I know my new ram can't be over heating yet.

I've never heard of a bad ram chip. Could that be the answer?

The computer can hold up to 2G's of ram. So it can't be an overflow.

Also, the Bios light don't blink when the new ram is inside.

They're both PC 2700's

Both 333Mhz. The chip is even compatible with 266MHz!!
