Someone was telling me about a drama about a train otaku. No, he wasn't getting confused with Densha Otoko. But he couldn't remember what the show's name was either. :-/

Bengoshi no Kuzu and Taiyo no Uta are awesome. Also Nobuta wo PRODUCE. You also can't go wrong with Furin Kazan, a historical dorama that's been around for WHO KNOWS how long.

21 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-05-04 23:30 ID:3bzRx8zW

I liked Akihabara@Deep.

22 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-05-09 18:28 ID:ercmHeTN

Liar Game was the first drama I watched! Nobuta wo Produce, Jotei? Last Friends is airing at the moment, Zettai Kareshi (maybe) definitely Hana Yori Dango, also try Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, 1 Litre of Tears, Kurosagi. If you want something sad, Yuuki.

23 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-05-12 19:24 ID:23M759Aa

Last Christmas remains one of my favorites that I haven't seen a lot of people mention. Yada Akiko is amazing.

24 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-05-16 19:26 ID:23M759Aa

Am I the only one who noticied the jtv hardsubs are horrible. They have scenes in orange days where it is white on white making it impossible to know what's going on during the entire white scene.

OP, if you are still visiting this site, did you watch the jtv rips?

has anyone seen densha otoko? it's a great love story about an unsocial otaku who saves this beautiful girl from a drunkard on a train. densha otoko (train man), gets help from the dezins of a message board called 2channel. If you watch the movie, it all sums it up but the tv show is funny, interesting and just plain weird.

29 Name: myv's chick : 2008-06-05 23:45 ID:3sMedw5L

i've also watched nobuta wo prouce, akihabara@deep, densha otoko and last christmas- all are pretty good...

but the BEST shows i've seen are hana kimi, hana yori dango, and nodame cantibile- these are like my favorite shows ever!

& you can download high quality fansubs from SARS of all of these.

right now i'm watching absolute boyfriend (zettai kareshi), it's silly but fun :0)

30 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-07-03 20:39 ID:ooNh4vTq

GOKUSEN and I have a shitty memory...

38 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-07-27 12:26 ID:TQ7dVDaj

>>36 Yeah to be honest I have no idea. I might have sympathised with Hanagata or something. I only remember it leaving a huge impression on me but with no clear idea of why it was so good.

39 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-08-03 01:18 ID:XZLF81As

>>37
Gokusen was OK after the first season, but number two was EXACTLY the same, and I doubt season 3 to be any better.

The second season actually got so formulaic that I couldn't remember which episode I was on, and skipping through some didn't help as they all were about the exact same things.

40 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-08-04 13:47 ID:TQ7dVDaj

>>39
Season 3 is very much the same. Every episode is some kid getting in some shit, and then her running to some random alley and/or warehouse and then the same soundtrack playing for the same things in every single episode.

I think that's what passes for fan service for this series.

41 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-08-18 21:27 ID:EudUOge2

43 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-09-21 19:45 ID:U0lO+GVF

^^ absolutely! I reckon it's less about the gripping storyline than about tons of cute boys for the ladies ^^ altho, loads of stuff that yankumi said got me good grades in my teaching qual... hehe

btw the movie apparently brings some of the old cast back...

I quite liked yasuko to kenji, when it was on... zettai kareshi was ok, but the manga is way better... enjoyed akihabara@deep... water boys - quite entertaining! what else... currently waiting for bloody monday to start.

44 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-09-22 22:12 ID:5giNEyvP

>>43
yeah, I agree come to think of it, some of the main cast were mainly Johnny's ent. boys.
cant wait for bloody monday too!

i think Ryuusei no Kizuna is supposed to be good as well.
did anyone like dragon zakura??

45 Name: emi : 2008-09-29 10:02 ID:HvAao9l3

i'm currently watching Densha Otoko... that's how I found this board! hehe!

46 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-09-29 21:07 ID:UH/Nv9ZM

ryuusei no kizuna is starting in a few weeks as well, isn't it? including Kazunari Ninomiya ^^ reason enough to at least take a peak ^^

MAOU MAOU MAOU!!!!

Haha ~~~ yeh i liked this drama!! It was intense but it really was the only good drama on the season in my opinion.

Though you could always settle with plain wierd no meaning but funny drama of 33pun tantei (33 Min Detective.)

49 Name: Anonymous : 2008-10-02 04:20 ID:FQKZVBeB

everyone must watch Ichi Rittoru no Namida (1 Liltre of Tears)

50 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-10-25 13:38 ID:HiVCWGzu

bloody monday is really good

51 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-10-26 13:22 ID:Heaven

I loved Maou too.

52 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-10-27 16:19 ID:lkAWoe0r

>>48
>it really was the only good drama on the season in my opinion

Blasphemy!!! I think Seigi no Mikata was much better than Maou. Some of the moments in the series were just pure gold, although the girl playing the imouto tended to overact. I really recommend Seigi no Mikata to everyone who hasn't seen it.

As for Maou, it was still pretty good, though, especially if compared to Yasuko and Kenji (which, in retrospect, was a complete waste of time). Maou's ending was too Shakespearean for my taste, and the supernatural elements and fake holier-than-thou Christian references were just idiotic.

>>46
Ryuusei no Kizuna looks like a nice drama, although the whole Furikake thing in the first episode was stupid and kind forced IMO. But I did enjoy the powahara guy's antics (like in the hospital) at the end of the second episode.

>>44
Dragon Zakura was okay. Not one of the best dramas of 2005, but it'll keep you entertained.

53 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-10-27 16:22 ID:Heaven

>>52
"...and kind of forced IMO"

54 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-10-27 23:15 ID:lJH3XYfy

Anyone watched tetsudou musume yet?

55 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-10-30 21:58 ID:5yNJFp+p

bloody monday ~ it's quite thrilling and captivating, almost a little frightening... but hard to look away, imo. miura haruma does an excellent job on this.

56 Name: Couch Potato : 2008-11-01 16:24 ID:G/m/ym/o

Hmm... Hana Yori Dango + Hana Yori Dango Returns is my favorite <3

Last Friend. It's really nice.

61 Name: Couch Potato : 2009-01-07 13:24 ID:1O53cb8P

I've really enjoyed watching 3-B-gumi Kinpachi Sensei. Perhaps one of the best school dramas ever written. Although high-quality episodes are somewhat difficult to find on the internet. Series 6 was probably the best series, featuring Aya Ueto as Nao. :)

62 Name: otakuisback : 2009-01-07 16:04 ID:+3x+n2G8

well i think my best dorama is Densha Otoko and My Boss My Hero
Densha Otoko for the heartwarming story
My Boss My hero for "The PUDDING CRISIS" LOL

63 Name: Couch Potato : 2009-01-08 01:20 ID:adW63v/C

>>62

Haha! My Boss My Hero was such a funny drama. It provided a really interesting twist to an otherwise outdated genre.

64 Name: Couch Potato : 2009-01-14 09:19 ID:SbBWSShH

The recently aired Maou was a decent drama. I wasn't a big fan of any of last seasons dramas, but Ryuusei no Kizuna wasn't bad. Innocent Love was alright if you like Asano Taeko's style of angst, but I preferred Last Friends.
