Let's talk about Kitano movies! I recently seen "Zatoichi", and loved it!
Takeshi's Castle is his greatest work to date
Hana-bi is my favorite from him so far. Sonatine and Takeshis' are also solid films (the former was done before his suicide attempt).
I just started watching Hana-bi (I'm about 15 minutes in, had to pause because of my cat) and while it's looking pretty good so far - I like films with this slow, static kind of style - I do not like the soundtrack. It seems kinda generic and crappy so far, but most of all, it's too loud. It's totally ruining the mood for me.
How about Zatoichi!? I loved that one! ^_^
Kikujiro is by far his best movie.
I saw Zatoichi not so far ago. It's the film I prefered amongst the Kitano.
It's a good one but, well... Maybe Kitano is just not my style ^^
