In this thread we whine about remakes, reboots, sequels, and film adaptations of things that don't deserve them.

Are they greedy or just completely out of ideas? What do you think? Do you just need a place to rage? Let's do this.

First up: The Thing (2011). Why are they doing this?!

What was wrong with John Carpenter's version? Didn't that really do everything that need to be done with this story? Is adding a woman to the story going to make things any better?

How about: Battleship. WHY are they doing this?!

Yep. Based on the board game by the same name. Being delayed in post production (from 2011 to May 2012) is always a sign of impending quality. Oh and it has Liam Neeson in it. Is this for real?

The Thing is that Korean movie about the giant fish frog monster, right? I actually like that movie.

The best thing about the 2011 Thing is that since its a prequel to Carpenter's, they gotta shoe horn in a character who can't speak English, even though there's american crew in it because the US can't deal with having foreign protagonists.

...god, a hollywood movie entirely in Norwegian would own.

This is a dumb one but there's a movie called "The Grey" coming out. It takes place in the arctic and it's basically "killin' wolves with your bare hands THE FUCKING MOVIE, mother fucker!#*!&!"

That's awesome. It's going to be dumb but potentially entertaining. Unfortunately, it's being released in the winter. I want to see movies with snow and ice when it's hot outside, not when it's cold.
