In a way, because I found ELLEUK interview enjoyable too in a different way, but in this TimeOut interview he sounds a lot more direct and honest.

Well, he addressed the subject of the school more forcefully than before, he scolded his obsessive fans for burdening him with their own perceptions and fantasies and as a consequence, he gave up (that how it seemed to me) on trying to show his private self, because anyway his fans won't believe him or whatever.
Also, he said shit and they didn't edit it and he isn't that eager to be called for Star Wars! haha
But yeah, nothing really new.

He is saying that he's decided to keep quiet about his private life and just do the job he's paid to do--act. Be serious about his work and enjoy his time off, while still being quiet and responsible. He doesn't think he should talk about his private life to the public, because it's none of the public's business, and they'll get upset no matter what he says--to put his words bluntly.

In a matter of months he went from saying "there was nothing home to write about but he hope he would be able to when the time comes" to clearly stating he was single to saying "Nobody else needs to know anything more and - in a way - they really don’t want to".

Tumblr is ridiculous with their self-righteousness. You can't control other people's actions, so why worry about them so much, and hound someone who doesn't do exactly as you say? I'm not encouraging obsessive, fangirl behavior by any means, but I'd say Tom is a big boy who can handle himself and should be expecting people taking pictures of him (not saying he likes it--it should just be expected, and I'm sure it is). Tumblr should cool it; aggressively blogging about it isn't going to change anything. It just makes people like me laugh about their condescending attitude.
They say Tom it's not fans property but then they treat him like a their possessions that needs to be defended. Insane
Expecting moderation by a fandom on tumblr is out of question, they make a drama or give extra meaning to the most insignificant things.
I'd say it's much worse a person who follows him out of the theatre to the tube than somebody asking for a photo, at least the second can be refused or replaced with an autograph. It seems like they don't realize he is a grown man, 33 years old, not some boy in need of their protection.
When nobody will post pics of him anymore for fear of an internet aggression, they'll probably complain about the lack of news.
I quite like the shit it stirs up in the fandom (I hate that word) when someone attempts to wade in and tries to educate everyone about fan etiquette. The amount of overreacting is so staggering you can only laugh at it all. I'm sure Tom is beyond giving a shit at this point (well, until Thor 3 - if he's in it, when he might need them all back for marketing purposes).
The best ones are the white-knights who come up with these charitable endeavors to make amends and convince Tom "we're not all like that". So far we have a fundraising appeal for the Donmar Warehouse, a blood drive (organised under the pretense that it was done for his birthday but is primarily because this particular fan is desperate for Tom's attention) and a letter of apology currently being drawn up by a small group of fans because some people stood in an airport arrival lounge to get a picture with Tom and they feel this has brought the fandom into disrepute.

It'd have to be a pretty serious pimple to require that big of a bandaid! I think it was recorded before he left London, probably not long after he acquired the mysterious forehead booboo, because the bandaid in the video is much larger than the bandaid he had on his head in the fan pictures from the Toronto airport. Maybe on the last night of Coriolanus someone decided to actually hit him during the fight scenes.

He actually sounds good there. Amazing what studio magic can do, because, according to various interviews and occasions, he can't really sing live well at all. Haha. Also, it figures that he (as posh sounding as he is) is one that doesn't "change" or "lose" parts of his accent when he sings (such as Adele, Olivia Newton-John, and his friend Eddie Redmayne to an extent, etc.). His poshness is still there, which is kind of funny, because he seems to hate it sometimes.

The song isn't exactly challenging, clearly auto-tune helped a great deal with those higher notes at the beginning and even so it's not perfect.
