I can't understand how people can discuss this things on a serious level. I'm sure she probably was hanging around with the hopes of running into him. She got her run-in, she got her smile, she got a pic - hopefully she's happy and won't make a habit of missing her tube stop.

I found this 'article' interesting. What this 'media analysis' fails to mention is that TH's fans - like BC's - are many, have a strong social media presence, and tend to be rabid when it comes to twitter.

And while BC may have been TIFF's golden boy in 2013, what does he have to show for it, save a shotgun wedding.

833 Name: Couch Potato : 2015-08-20 20:34 ID:Heaven

>>832 very true, twitter chattering isn't enough to turn a film into a good one, ISTL is a category where International Press decides the winner, if it falls flat that closes the season.
The article also fails to mention why there is so much eagerness to see TH on a RC.

'We've checked with key studio execs and Oscar consultants in order to get an early take and to clear up false scuttlebutt. As a result, for example, we can tell you to bump Don Cheadle out of your Best Actor predictions. Yes, "Miles Ahead" will unspool at the Toronto International Film Festival, but the movie will not be released wide till 2016.'

From here:
http://www.goldderby.com/news/9935/oscars-predictions-eddie-redmayne-leonardo-dicaprio-jennifer-lawrence-135790862.html

They mention MA and Cheadle, but don't mention TH, sooo not sure what this means for ISTL and TH and a possible nomination.

>>870 yes here http://4-ch.net/tv/kareha.pl/1410345704/616

873 Name: Couch Potato : 2015-08-22 17:08 ID:Heaven

>>871 How reliable is this do you think?
What's interesting is that Miles Ahead won't be an Oscar film because of it's release date, not because of the quality (though it's strange since the film is also present at NYFF).
The lack of mention of ISTL might mean that the problems noted the screen tests are still present. The lack of mention for TH, or EO, is trickier, is it because other candidates are so much stronger or because they are not so good?

874 Name: Anon. : 2015-08-22 17:19 ID:tV4U1BfJ

>>872 You've got the memory I want, Couch!

I would think he might want to skip the excitement (read: craziness) of a BC opening night. There's a lot of crossover in the BC and TH fandoms, so it might be a bit of a busman's holiday if he goes opening night, rather than slips in at a later date.

Yeah, he wants publicity and all, but not off BC's back - BC isn't 5"3' and blonde.

875 Name: Anon. : 2015-08-22 17:24 ID:tV4U1BfJ

>>873 Your guess is as good as mine. 'Key studio execs and Oscar consultants' might just be the office Magic 8 Ball for all we know!

Maybe SPC is going to do a slow burn for MA. Premier/show at a few film festivals and then give it a second push when it goes into theatres in 2016.

I don't know about the 'problems' with ISTL. They may have been problems to some of the test audience members, but the powers that be may not consider them so. I mean, you can't please everyone.

876 Name: Couch Potato : 2015-08-22 17:45 ID:Heaven

>>874 haha thank you, this is why I like links, for when we don't remember - I also doubt he'll be there on opening night, but since he has a busy Sept. he might go before he leaves for TIFF, a second option would be before he leaves for Kong.

877 Name: Couch Potato : 2015-08-22 17:48 ID:Heaven

>>875 It's the fact that SPC owns both movies that leaves me confused. Given their similarities, music biopic, if MA gets released in 2016, why not push ISTL more now and leave MA promotion for next year?
I guess with ISTL will just have to wait and see what's the reception of the press.

English thespian Tom Hiddleston is set to portray Hank Williams Sr. in a soon-to-be-released biopic entitled I Saw the Light. Williams' grandson, the aforementioned Hank 3, has openly criticised the casting of a non-American actor in the role, despite Hiddleston's astonishing resemblance to his grandfather. What does Jr. make of it all?
"I have heard of some of the cast members, but I haven't met them or seen any of the footage or work on this movie just yet... I am waiting to see it all done so I can then see how real it is."

Dare I say this sounds reasonable?

http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/sony-pictures-classics-add-don-cheadles-miles-ahead-to-its-slate-20150805

I found the title of this article a bit too affirmative since SPC hasn't released any official statement, so I went on SPC website, and in the coming soon section for their movies MA isn't listed http://www.sonyclassics.com/

So, it looks like MA will really be released next year, but the article is very positive about the film in general and at the end it adds this:

"UTA Independent Film Group arranged the film's financing and screened it for buyers ahead of the NYFF, representing the filmmakers in the deal."

To have found buyers already for a film that won't be tested on the market until next year, it must be very good.

A different tone is used for ISTL.
"Brit star Tom Hiddleston improbably plays country star Hank Williams in Marc Abraham's "I Saw the Light" (November 27), opposite Elizabeth Olsen, who also shows off her pipes."

Note the difference, no compliment here. TH is improbable and EO is there just for the singing. I wonder if this guy was at the screen test.

Screening for HR for cast and crew. TH seems to have been present.

>>880 I don't think 'improbably' is meant to be a type of non-compliment. It IS an improbable role for TH - non-singing Brit plays singing Southerner. Most of D. Day-Lewis' roles could be called improbable - a lot of actors/acting roles could.

And as for EO, again, I think they're highlighting another unusual aspect of her performance - that she sings as well, which people might not have thought she'd do.

I'm happy she's willing to 'show off her pipes'...unlike her face on Pap Night '15.

>>884 sounds like HR is as disturbing as it can be and then some.

Improbable is a bit of a silly word to use, I feel, because as you say that's acting. I am particularly surprised people have got their knickers in a twist about the idea of a British person playing someone from the South. Idris Elba and Domonic West starred in The Wire and nobody said that was improbable, yet the Baltimore gang dialect seems to be so hard to understand that even American friends told me they watched with the subtitles on.

James Purefoy posted some release dates about HR on his facebook page, but it's merely a screencap from the HR's IMDb page so I'm posting IMDb's

So, it's a bit calm today on the TH front, but guys, I had such a terrible nightmare last night with him involved, I'm still under the impression. I don't even know, will it be weird if I post it here? I neeeed to share, lol

>>889 I say go for it. This could be the first unofficial meeting of the Tom Hiddleston Nightmare Therapy Circle.

OK Stands up My name is qaz and I have nightmares about TH hangs head in shame

So, I’m dreaming that I’m just at home in the evening, everything is as usual and feels pretty real. Then suddenly TH is there, but I instantly realise that it can’t possibly be true, so I’m like “Dude, I know you’re a dream or a hallucination of some kind, you can’t really be here”. He seemed pretty surprised about not being real, lol, but whatever. Anyway, we talk, and laugh, and he’s telling some story, and there may or may not be some kissing involved - i.e. it feels good, we’re having a nice time, so I think to myself that I may as well enjoy it, whatever weirdness this is.

But then he’s gone and I wake up in my bed, in the darkness, in exactly the same spot and position that I fell asleep in. So I think - oh, then it WAS a dream. I look at the clock - like I usually do when I wake up at night, it’s around 1 AM; I close my eyes and start drifting off to sleep again. And then I feel like some guy is embracing me from behind, spooning-style (mind you, I was sleeping alone and I knew it). So I think - hey, it seems that I managed to return to the same dream - and to the good part no less, lol, that’s TH. But then I take his hand and INSTANTLY REALISE THAT IT’S NOT TH’S HAND AT ALL (side note - I obviously can tell in total darkness, pff), nothing like it! And that it feels TOO REAL, so that’s NOT A DREAM, but someone’s in my house, and in my bed! As soon as I understand it, I try to get away, but he’s just forcing me back, won’t let me go, squeezing all air out of me and I’m so shocked and scared that I can’t even scream…

And then I woke up again. This time for real. Felt so terrified, I flew out of that bed at lightning speed, lol. I mean, I’ve had nightmares before, like all people, but this one was on some another crazy realness level. Was sitting for a about an hour with the lights on, half waiting to wake up again for the third time, Inception-style :) Turned out in the morning that I had fever, so that’s what probably induced it, but can I also blame TH a little? :D

>>891 Oh my god, that is terrifying. One minute you think you're about to get it on with TH, and then suddenly there's a creeper in your bed. Dreams within dreams are the worst.

>>892 Yeah, it was scary, and that was the first dream in a dream I've had. Thanks for the support, that Therapy Circle feels like a good thing :)

I'm one of those people who hardly ever remembers dreams - or maybe doesn't have them that often.

Listening to your dream turned nightmare - I'm glad I don't!! Creepy.

You're right, it probably was the fever. Are you going to treat it, or maybe see if you can cause another TH dream...that will end A LOT more nicely?!?

So, ISTL premiers on the 11th and HR on the 13th.

Sooooo, the $64,000 question is - will EO show up on the carpet with TH for the HR premier.

What will that say, if anything?

>>896 My prediction: they walk the carpet together for ISTL and he goes alone for HR, leaving room for some fresh "are they or aren't they" speculation.

This is the guy - Couch will correct me if I'm forgetting! - who passed on info about the ISTL screening, but I can't remember what he said, or more correctly, his friend said.

Is opening at a particular venue at TIFF as opposed to Telluride such a bad thing? I don't know jack about the venues at TIFF, but is there such a difference between them?

899 Name: anonsy : 2015-08-25 00:49 ID:P/Scdi4r

>>898 It seems like whatever this venue is at TIFF, ISTL will just be one of several films, whereas it would have been featured on its own or among a much smaller group at Telluride. So I guess it's a less "special" presentation, more likely to get lost among the other films at the same venue, and gives the impression that it's not important enough (or good enough) to be presented individually.
