>>294 We will never know because the unfortunate original tweeter has now deleted her post. She has tweeted about the Avengers though, so she probably knew the difference between BL and EO. I'm not sure I can bear to open this grisly can of worms again, but they were seen together in late July, then in September and now in mid November. If I were boning TH I would want to see him more frequently than that, especially if I weren't busy with a project. Maybe they're (shock horror) just good mates - or SECRET LOVE but also LOW SEX DRIVE?

304 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 09:54 ID:RQNfBWIu

Seen in september and now in november. lol. prooves? all just lies and gossips. dont worry EO isnt fucking with Tom. SHE said it. is it so hard to believe what SHE said and he AGREED.

and the author of tweeter doesnt necessary can recognize this two, they look alike too much

305 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 09:56 ID:RQNfBWIu

Not to mention that September thing comes from Toby that you laugh at. They aren't together, so stop gossiping about Tom that way. Do you realize you accuse him being a liar?

306 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 10:00 ID:tB216AlG

>>302 I wouldn't worry. I don't think anyone sane believes that stereotype. You are arguing with someone that even the town bycycle thinks is a fruit loop.

307 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 10:07 ID:tB216AlG

>>305 No, I think you'll find that they were seen together (in the sense of being in the same place at the same time) at TIFF by about 1,000 journalists!

308 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 10:11 ID:RQNfBWIu

Well surprise but at Tiff they were presenting the movie. They were kinda expected to see each other in official parts of that. We all know what happened there. That Tom couldn't care less a out her and she ( I know it's hard to get it, but try) denied their dating rumors. And he (it's even harder) agreed with her. It is official. Get over it and stop gossiping. Or do you think.k Tom being a liar?

309 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 10:12 ID:RQNfBWIu

And btw they weren't seen together apart from official stuff by ANYONE.

310 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 10:18 ID:tB216AlG

I will give this one final try before I ignore you forever more. Please read the post at >>303 - I said I thought it unlikely that they were dating because the most we could say was that they had been seen together 3 times over 5 months and if I were dating TH I would want to see him more frequently than that. The bit in capitals was a joke which you may have problems with because English is not your first language. So no I am not saying the dating rumours are true. Please, please try to read what is said before the red mist descends and you start typing madly.

311 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 10:37 ID:RQNfBWIu

>>310 three times ? Don't tell me you consider that liar from Twitter as truth lol.

I understood what you say. Apparently accusing people in not having English as a first language is a usual thing to say when you don't know what else to say and how else to insult. Surprise. It is. I was born and grew up in London. And btw the joke is made by intonation when it's not a clear joke, so without hearing it it's usually hard to get it. But you are too keen on seeming to be cool.

(Putting on my best Couch Potato voice):

Please just don't engage with Lex/firenbrenie/JDunn/whoever she is posting as today. Just not worth it.

Onto things that actually matter: thinking long and hard about everyone in Paris and Beirut this week. Those of us in safe, comfortable existences are unbelievably lucky.

Good morning?

Yikes. I'm going to need a second cup of coffee.

First - I put my hand up. I caused this, so I apologize. I still have on my twitter app a column dedicated to tweets that feature the words Hiddleston and Olsen. My first mistake was checking it in the middle of a boring social event. My second - and biggest mistake - was posting the tweet here.

I had forgotten about lurkers and their inability to interact nicely on social media.

I'll remember our lurkers and their neuroses in the future.

>>294 >>303

She does seem in the know about things Marvel and thus would recognize EO from her Avengers role. Especially since EO and BL look significantly different.

But who knows? During my first week in the TH fandom, I mistook JJ Feild for TH and thought TH was married to Neve Campbell for a good month or so!

316 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 14:27 ID:8GLG1MAn

As for TH and EO. The sighting could be real. Hawaii seems like a very EO-type of destination for a mid-November getaway - I mean it's almost like 60F in LA now, brrrrrr. And five hours in first class - that's nothing.

They could be hanging out as just friends or friends with benefits, or even FBs - but they are - as they themselves said and others on this board agree - probably not 'dating' in the conventional sense.

317 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 14:34 ID:8GLG1MAn

As for Americans and British - both of which mix nicely on this board - I certainly don't let the opinions or the grammar of one person dictate my perceptions of either country in The Special Relationship.

I know that not all Britons think that Americans don't care.

And I know that the poor language skills and fanatical views of one Briton are not a blanket condemnation of 1) the British education system or 2) the mental well-being of the British nation.

318 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 14:38 ID:8GLG1MAn

I should add...

That it would really strengthen The Special Relationship if TH were to date and marry an American lass.

It can be me - I'll take that hit for the team. But it can also be one of the other 70 odd million American gals of marriageable age...even EO.

319 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 14:43 ID:8GLG1MAn

Finally, as a bit a levity:

Last night, when my boy angrily asked what was so urgent as I was typing furiously on my phone, I said, 'A friend is having relationship problems.'

I don't think it was a lie.

320 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 15:02 ID:RQNfBWIu

Well Sorry ladies but Charlie Gray who interviewed Tom said very clearly - Tom is sinhle, he doesn't have a lady by his side. And he was one of the last interviewers. So give up, gossip lovers.

I asked a person who knows everything that is going on in Hawaii and he told me there was no news about Olsen arriving - he would know. So again, your Twitter thing was a LIE. Get over it.

And don't worry, Tom won't marry an Ameican. You will be able to check it very soon.

321 Name: qaz : 2015-11-15 15:34 ID:tY18OJ3i

He will marry a Lithuanian!! I.e. ME! Wahhahahahaa

Sorry for the outburst. I will go take those reality pills now.

Actually, I feel like I'm almost off the TH train now and it's almost sad. Anyway, I still like him as an actor, I'm waiting for High-Rise and hope they will screen it in LT.

Although if he's actually with EO that would be epic, lol.

322 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 15:58 ID:tB216AlG

>>317 Anon., I hope you don't think I was calling someone out or making fun of them for being uneducated, having poor language skills etc. I would never do that.

When Lex first showed up round here I took a peek at her Twitter and saw that she said she lived and worked in Tblisi - that, and the way she wrote English, led me to conclude that she was not a native speaker. I put this forward today as an I hope more charitable explanation for some of the misunderstandings which have led her into several spats on this board. She now tells us she is a native English speaker. I don't believe implicitly everything I am told by strangers on the Internet, especially strangers who kick around under so many aliases. I am afraid I retain my own view about this, but I apologise if my disbelieving comment at >>312 came across as unnecessarily mean.

323 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 16:32 ID:8GLG1MAn

I could get behind a TH-Qaz Anglo-Lithuanian pairing. It's a NATO country, so it's fine with me. Up the Lithuanians!!

I personally think he should marry Katy Perry or Rooney Mara - because then any children would essentially be TH clones...freakish, little TH clones.

324 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 16:52 ID:8GLG1MAn

Oh, you weren't - I was calling her out, specifically for her crazy posts, not her English skills.

Personally, I have my doubts about her claim to being born and raised in an English speaking country. Her grammar mistakes suggest that English is her second language. But I will say that her English is very good if it is a second language.

I post on an Italian film board. My Italian - spoken and written - is crap. I'm sure my posts sometime seem like they've been written by a monkey. They're especially bad when I post quickly and don't take the time to think about grammar and look up spellings.

I think Lex does the same thing. She gets overly excited about a topic and her language comes in second to her emotions. She needs to tone down the crazy, not improve her language skills.

And, I've always been a 'supporter' of Lex. She pops in to call EO a slut, call us stupid and suggest that TH will soon declare his love for some unknown woman (usually she implies it's her), and then she goes back to lurker mode. It's a fairly consistent and relatively harmless MO, and, in my opinion, what boards like this are for.

325 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 16:58 ID:8GLG1MAn

In proper TH news...yes, that still exists.

From twitter, so barking border collie and all that, but I think it has been confirmed that they are going to Vietnam, so this cave as a shooting location doesn't seem too out of the realm of possibility.

>>323 I could get behind a sassy Anon.-TH pairing, so if you take that hit for the team, I'm all for it. The RCs would be entertaining.

Off topic: considering the recent political developments, I'm glad that we're in the NATO. There are various opinions of course, but I, for once, am glad. And I think the majority of the population are also.

327 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 17:31 ID:tB216AlG

>>323>>326 Well I am married, so I have no problem with you two duking it out over him. Unless I divorce, in which case he'd be "not bad for a second husband," as I recently heard an old aristocratic cove say!

>>324 As to our resident lurker under the bridge: I don't really care if she comes here occasionally, calls us all loopy fan girls, EO a whore, and tells us in thinly veiled terms that she will be Mrs Thomas W Hiddleston before too long. We're all here on an anonymous fan board, and it goes with the turf. I do object to her vacuuming up things she finds here and then hunting down innocent Twitter users to shower them with vitriol because they innocently and totally legitimately posted what they thought they saw. That's way over the line. Still, there will be a lot for the best man to read out during his speech when she marries TH!

PS I always thought Helena Bonham Carter. They have adjoining houses which we know HBC likes, and they can do that curly haired English eccentric dressed in the dark thing together. And all their babies would look like him but have her colouring, ie little miniLokis. Perfection!!

Sassy Anon. actually has an engagement ring on her finger, so some other lucky girl will need to take one for the team.

He will be spending a lot of time in step up, unknown Aussie sheila.
I could see him with an Aussie - both tall, both sporty, matching surf boards and all that.

330 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 18:27 ID:8GLG1MAn

Agreed. Which is why I hold my hand up for mentioning the tweet. As they say, mustn't feed the trolls. I failed in that respect.

Do you think we'll get invites? I love a good, old-fashioned British wedding. I've already got my hat picked out.

Yes!!!! HBC - whose initials perfectly and appropriately also stand for Head Bitch in Charge - could both match his zany Britishness and also put him in his place when needed.

He would make a fine second husband. He seems the sort that needs a woman who has been in long term relationships and dealt with those universal male tendencies. A novice might get fed up and leave him!

331 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 18:45 ID:tB216AlG

>>330 I bet he'd be a right handful. He is 35 and hasn't been in a long term acknowledged relationship since whenever he was with Sursannah Fielding (was it 2011?). Plus he is showing signs of old-git-dom such as retaining The Boots and wearing the same shirt every other day. And I guess that his house is a total man cave - he's said in interviews that his study is a tip and that his mum does his laundry!!! Imagine a woman coming in with Diptyque candles, telling him to change his sheets weekly and throwing away the dirty white converse shoes. He'd totally freak out.

332 Name: Anon. : 2015-11-15 19:24 ID:8GLG1MAn

Yes, to all. But I also think his time at boarding school would make him somewhat malleable, especially for a HBC-type.

If matron tells you to do something, you do it! Especially if matron has a ruler in her hand...and she knows how to use it.

333 Name: qaz : 2015-11-15 19:39 ID:tY18OJ3i

This is just outrageous. So no fair maiden on this board is to claim TH's heart?

Well, qaz, unfortunately, in real life has a wedding band on her finger. Sorry, TH, you totally have a competition. I know, I know, you won't be able to sleep this night.

I would so ship him with HBC.

You will need a ruler. What else would a brave woman need to take on TH...and his fans? Rhinoceros skin, being hard of hearing would help (fans and TH), a rock solid love for Willy Shake, unending patience and tolerance (fans and TH), boot maintenance kit?

339 Name: Anon : 2015-11-15 23:33 ID:tB216AlG

Here's the thing about those DM pics and video: I think AO and Bob Saget play it RIGHT.

Sure, she acts a bit of a tit, but they get to the car quickly, she doesn't strike up a convo with a gate, he smiles at the paps - and then once they're in the car, it's all smiles and laughter.

Yes, TH and EO need to take lessons from AO and Bob Saget - I repeat, Bob Saget - on PR and pap interaction.

What is this world?

Thanks, Anon.

I'm thankful that Turkey (oh, the Thanksgiving irony. See! Americans DO understand irony!) and Russia haven't started WWIII - yay!

I'm not thankful that my travel/Thanksgiving plans were scuppered by Turkey and Russia pretending to start WWIII - boo!!

I'm leaving the office just now (I'm sharing a train carriage with a group of women headed to camp out for Black Friday sales - they have folding chairs and sleeping bags and are cackling like crazy hens). Where I should be is on a couch in an ensemble that features an elastic waistband, with a turkey leg in one fist and a pint glass of wine (I'm a classy lady) in the other. Either dressing or mashed potatoes should be flecked in my hair, and my mother should be trying to shove homemade rum balls into my mouth.

Anon. here (now with wine and cookies - just like the Pilgrims ate).

So, before I left for work this morning, I saw a tweet from a guy who works at Radio 2 telling TH to check out a country music program. Turns out it featured a song from the ISTL soundtrack: Why Don't You Love Me. Or as I call it, The TH and EO Post Pap Night Question Song.

It starts about the 49:40 mark in the show.

Interestingly, they apparently recorded the soundtrack using equipment available during HW's lifetime.

I think he sounds sufficiently 'country.' He's twangy, for sure.

I so wish the British celebrated Thanksgiving. Back in the day at Cambridge I had a lot of American students and I ate several turkey dinners over the years. Very happy memories - if you want to fall in love with all that is good about America, a Thanksgiving dinner is the place to start.

My dear Texan friend showed me how to top sweet potato mash with melted marshmallow. Sounds disgusting (to English ears), tastes like mortal sin.

>>370 The escape is for a few hours - we'll be back tomorrow and probably through the weekend. I guess that's why I make the big bucks (I don't actually make the big bucks).

Start a petition! You've had a civil war, that's when ours came back into style. Two holidays with turkeys - the British turkey farmers will love it!

I'm not a sweet potato sort of girl, but I can happily co-sign the American tradition of happily including marshmallows with most desserts. And pecan pie is proof that God exists, and he loves pie.

I bet TH is enjoying a Hawaiian flavored Thanksgiving, maybe with some poi. Or Thanksgiving with the Olsens...kidding, the Olsens don't eat, they're fueled by cigs and bad fashion.

Off to the boy's. His shift is ending soon (mostly kids caught in the cross fire as their parents try to deep fry turkeys!) and he's promised to make me a grilled cheese - even said he'd cut the mold off the bread AND the cheese before cooking. Ahhh, he's a keeper.

>>377 There ya have it: she only has time to read scripts and doesn't read books for entertainment:

Enjoy your cheese! I am about to toast your freedom from the royalist oppressors by eating my first mince pie of the year washed down with a glass of cheap fizzy pink wine.

Don't lean on any big red buttons at work tomorrow in your hungover state.

>377 Maybe EO thought that statement made her sound too busy with work to 'free read'? Short-sighted of her; someone needs to tell her that being a well-rounded adult is a good thing. All I know about her is acting and fashion.

>>378 Sadly, they don't let me near the launch codes. A serious lack of judgment on their part.

Mince pie and must be Christmas! My old British boyfriend and I used to treat mince pies (M&S if he was buying, Tesco/Co-op if I was) like an advent calendar: one a day starting on Dec. 1. We just ate them with tea - your method is preferable!

>>379 >>378 I give her a pass - she's a pup and all pups are short-sighted. She is all fashion (bad - did you see the outfit she wore to announce the Spirit Awards?) and acting, but she's only 26. In another few years, she'll likely evolve.

Speaking of 'evolved,' this tweet says TH spent Thanksgiving at le cinema. If true, this raises some questions:

  1. Did no one want to take him home for the holiday? Is he that annoying?
  2. Does EO like her popcorn with or without butter?
  3. Are TH and EO fans of Alanis Morissette's song "You Oughta Know?"
  4. Who goes to the cinema on Thanksgiving when in the States - British or not? Ain't no turkey at the movies...unless you count Crimson Peak.
  5. Oooooh, did he go to watch CP five times in order to boost the box office?

Speaking of CP and turkeys, it's official: Forbes put out their list of the biggest box office flops of 2015. CP came in at 15.

But TH shouldn't feel too bad as Blackhat (Hemsworth) came in at 3 and Jupiter Ascending (Redmayne) came in at 13.

He's probably writing fan-fiction, or a novel about a misunderstood actor who does really good impressions but can't find love.

Or he's clicking on one of those Russian bride pop-up ads. Don't do it, it's a scam, Tom, a scam!

His whole body hangs off those cheekbones, his body...and murder weapons.

I bet he's looking down at his shirt in that pic and thinking, Can I sneak open a few more buttons, my fans want to see all 43 chest hairs.

A few things:

  1. Screw TH, I'M marrying Brie Larson. Look at her holding her own in that sea of testosterone and Y chromosomes! I'm in love....
  2. It's Hawaii, there is no need for a leather jacket, TH. He needs lessons in casual.
  3. No medal around his neck; Jaguar would be so disappointed.

The leather jacket is (surprise!!) not a new purchase. It dates from at least 2013, if not earlier. After a month or two of Newclothesnewclothes he is back to doing what he does best, ie ferreting through his wardrobe to put together a whole series of identical outfits:

Olly is increasingly omnipresent. I am sure he didn't used to take him on location.

In the words of Harry Hill...FIGHT!

Yeah, I recognized that jacket from...every other time he's worn that jacket. But then, that's what leather jackets are for, for forever. I think it's reasonable for him to wear a leather jacket from before he molted. But in Hawaii? It's 82F there.

Maybe he thought it would've protected him if there had been a fiery crash on the gokart track?

>>396 When you only own 5 things it is easy to make the same fashion mistake repeatedly; in his case the mistake is to assume that every item in his wardrobe is suitable for, well, any, occasion. This is a man who wore that turned up collar coat at Purse Gate in July. He wore exactly the same outfit at Letters Live in March when the wind was blowing from Siberia.

>>396 But then part of his not charm is that he is not a materialistic man, and also although handsome clever and rich, with a comfortable home and a happy disposition, is a tad hopeless with it. I imagine if one popped round to his place for tea it would take him an hour to make - you know the type. A lot of pattering to and fro with packets and jars without much being achieved.
