PTSD is fortunately relatively rare, with specific internationally recognised diagnostic criteria, and it is by no means an invariable consequence of trauma. There is a huge difference between experiencing a flashback, and seeing something in a movie that reminds you of a bad experience in your past which marks you feel sad/uncomfortable. The former is a symptom of a medical condition which requires help, and which should be taken very seriously, the latter is - part of the human condition. I agree with you that the Tumblr kids really seem to mean that they don't want to be exposed to things that might disturb them - they're not entitled to trigger labels to help them with that. Much great art/literature is disturbing, and designedly so. If you need labels to deal with that then the labels aren't the help you need.
