I am on holiday too, as it happens very close to where TH's mother lives. Believe me, I have my eyes peeled!

But now a confession. When I was 24 I dated a man who was 10 years older than me. I am now cringeing inwardly at what our mutual friends might have said of that relationship behind our backs. But from inside it didn't feel so weird. We worked at the same place and in the same profession (he was more senior). I only really felt the age gap when we talked about music because at the time I knew nada about anything predating 1985. He felt it too because I recall him turning pale when he was playing "Jumping Jack FLash" and I asked who it was. But overall it was great - he had a fantastic wine cellar, he drove an e-type Jag and (since I'm deep into TMI already) the sex was far and away the best I had had up till then. And I think he enjoyed having a much younger girlfriend - the pleasure of corrupting me by showing me a range of life's experiences, hehehehe.

So I kind of see the appeal. We may be laughing at the dad dancing but I bet they are both loving it for various reasons, and I bet it doesn't feel ridiculous.

I didn't marry the older guy BTW.
