Photos taken to publicise a production are posed but they are beautiful - for example a lot of the CP ones, in which he certainly doesn't look dead-eyed. He also looked utterly gorgeous and unfazed when posing almost naked for the HR sun lounger publicity shot. But when he is himself or playing a "character" created for one day for a Gucci shoot, he sometimes loses the thread. The W mag pics were him naked, not Laing or Sharpe or whoever and he clearly felt uncomfortable with that, even though he loves showing us his beautiful body when in character.
