I've also worked on desperation last minute shoots pulled together in less than a week- they're manic but they do happen.
It's highly likely the shoot was conceived as a direct result of the infamous declaration of love wifebeater. It's possible it was pulled together after Tay's takedown while in Australia. It's certainly been pulled together after the dismal reaction to his underpantze editorial.
Whichever way, TH had nothing to promote yet he made the cover. The Cumberbund initiated the softest, most loving and gentle "interview" of TH's career whereby he managed to remain completely cushioned from his current troubles while plugging his life achievements. Dubious photos aside, the interview served him well.
