I wonder if he's honestly gun shy because of all the backlash and realizes that it's better to stay quiet with someone like RG because people now have ammunition to use against him - or if this is a continuation of the GQ lie/rehabilitation of post-Tayto TH. Most recently his public persona was that of a heartbroken man drowning his sorrows in pasta sauce, so he needs to play it subdued because that's what brokenhearted, bolognese-covered people are like. (I dislike that I always look for ulterior motives in everything he does now...and that I find them...easily.)
