I am torn about Much Ado because I saw one of the great productions at the National - Simon Russell Beale and Zoe Wanamaker. I really wasn't sure about that one - I thought they were both too old and SRB isn't exactly the "ideal" of Benedick. How wrong I was. Their age made it seem like they were two people who had spent their lives missing one another. And SRB truly is one of the finest comic actors there is, as well as being probably the best Shakespearean actor living. I am not sure TH could ever better that.
