Another alternative is that a lot of people from abroad entered the ballot hoping to be able to get time off but decided in the end it was too expensive at such short notice. Tickets for Coriolanus went on sale months ahead and that gives you time to arrange your vacation and maybe get a cheap flight - a month ahead, not so much.
