since we have a drama thread, why not a movie one?
I will start.
Movie: Singapore Dreaming
Kamikaze Girls is supposed to be good. Only started watching it.
Rajio no Jikan (or Welcome Back, Mr McDonald)
k - My Sassy Girl
j - Hula Girls
c - House of Flying Daggers
Il Mare is a really good Korean film. You might know it as the inferior Western remake titled The Lakehouse.
Just saw love and honor the non related trilogy to hidden blade and twilight samurai and thought it was as good as the others. The series centers around lower level samurai life.
the first 3 bruce lee movies
snake and crane art of shaolin with jackie chan
[4movies with nora miao]
best looking girl ever... go watch way of the dragon if u havent
"Infernal Affairs". The Hong Kong original of "The Departed".
Oh and "Shinobi" as my Japanese film.
Plot kind of falters in the second half of the movie, but it's still damn cool.
Cave of the Yellow Dog features a Mongolian Nomadic family with a cute little girl who wants to keep a stray dog against her father's wishes. Nothing horrible happens. She is really cute. It is my favourite film right now. Did I mention she is cute?
Kung Pow had a cute baby too
some of my recent favorites:
"Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" - if you like badass korean girls, lots of gore, directed by the cat who did Oldboy, so you know its really nuts.
^ ban the retard above.
I recommend: Bom yeoreum gaeul gyeoul geurigo bom (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring)
Just watched Koi no Mon, absurd, but hilarious.
Also, watched death note 1 & 2 a couple of nights ago (havent read any of the manga, so I actually really enjoyed the films)
Watch Vital, it's kinda weird but I really liked it.

Wild Zero is fucking brilliant.
the UK DVD cover is worth the price alone.
Happy Times Hotel
Curse of the Golden flower is good...
I agree, the Death Note movies are pretty good.
Waa, I want to see Lust, Caution
Hyper x Barely Mosaiced - Sora Aoi
riki-oh Hilarous must see
anything by Akira Kurosawa, seven samurai most notably
Anything by miike, includes Gozu (first mentioned in post above), the vengeance trilogy (coldboy, sympathy for lady vengeance...) and my personal favorite miike film young thugs:innocent blood.
Rented lust caution, haven't watched it yet, let you know what i think
correction 2 posts up: zatoichi is 19* movies not 29, typo
Lust Caution was so-so. Felt like they put in too much unneeded scenes.
Try Muay Thai (the recently rls'd one). There's a custom eng sub on ADC. It'll definitely change the way you think of Thai movies.
The Sympathy Trilogy: Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Oldboy and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Awesome movies.
1 litre of tears is a really good and sad movie. any1 know where 2 direct dl it???
Attack the Gas Station
Summer in a Small Town
Tetsuo the iron man.
Koroshiya Ichi. One of the most brilliant, bloody gorefests I have EVER SEEN.

is the dumpling you are talking about in the 3-part three extremes film or is there another?
I am Japan!
Yeah, its the same film. The longer version though.
-Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
-The Woman in the Dunes
is about jazz, a group of school girls and Jazz.
and comedy. nice movie
a bittersweet life
I'll tell you what NOT to watch-- Jisatsu Sa-kuru, Suicide Club.
I watched that tonight and it was AWFUL. There were a few scenes that were done extremely well, but the movie as a whole was terrible.
Itchy the killer
hey,the thread says "Asian film". Isn't it ok for having just japanese films around here?
Pornostar: Not actually about a pornostar. It's about a guy who seems to have no emotions outside of cold rage getting involved with some yakuza. Contains one of the most startling scenes of violence I've ever seen.
Devils on the Doorstep: Absolutely fucking awesome Chinese black comedy/anti-war film. Set in Japanese occupied China at the end of WWII, it's about some villagers who are made to look after two prisoners - a Japanese soldier and a Chinese interpreter. Really stylised, so maybe not for everybody.
The Initial D movie is one of the worst movies ever made
Ichi the Killer
Fudoh: The Next Generation
I watched Vengeance is Mine a couple of days ago. The main character was not the kind of character I'd expected him to be, and was much more interesting for it. Great film, with a different kind of feel to it than any other film about a serial killer I've seen.

A Tale of Two Sisters (once you figure out what happened after watching it 12 times...)
Also, there was a korean movie I once watched, it was called 9 iron or 12 iron or something simliar. I couldn't find anything about it so I'm probably getting the name wrong. ( '・ω・)
it features lots of pretty photography. alot lots of engrish. it made me cry in a manly way.
A Better Tomorrow 1 and 2
The best part of the movie is when Ryuuhei is in the black man's appartment and he's like "ARE YOU GAY?"
My Sassy Girl, I am surprise this has not been optioned for an American remake. I would love to see someone like Seth Rogan in this hilarious romantic comedy.
Wow, thanks for informing me, I must really be behind on the movie news.
Shanghai Dreams (Chinese) is a really good film.
Haha I download this movie in 2005 but still haven't seen it
Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.
Kuro-Obi a.k.a. Black Belt
it might be old, but Three Kims is pretty good if you're into martial arts and comedy
Se, Jie (Lust, Caution) is pretty good
