Thread to talk about actor Tom Hiddleston
Tom Hiddleston 1: http://4-ch.net/tv/kareha.pl/1382608996/
TIFF: ISTL Sept 11. HR Sept. 13
Calgary Festival: ISTL gala (Sept 23)
San Sebastian Festival: HR (Sept 19-26)
Atlantic Film Festival Halifax, Nova Scotia: ISTL (Sept 17-24)
A few tweets coming through about HR being at BFI-LFF, but no confirmation until next week. We shall see.
Wow we have buzzed through an entire thread in a month. Anon., remember when you wondered if he would still be with EO by the end of the thread? Well he is. Or isn't. Bwahahaha!
And ... .3 - 2 - 1 ... here come the posts where he is 100% definately not with her that (insert expletive of your choice) hussy from America etc etc etc.
To pick up on the previous actor discussion:
I would say neither BW or ER are good comparisons with TH:
>>4 Well, technically, I never said they were 'together' - I've got just as much idea as the rest of us outsiders about that hazy, hot mess of a relationship!
But since she's not in London anymore, and he has to take his books on lunch dates, I guess she didn't outlast the thread!
I've had taxi rides that were a hot mess. That was just a mess.
I know from an inside source that he is definitely still with EO!!
Their relationship is getting serious - via Skype and text. He's ready to settle down and have kids and so am I, I mean, so is she.
>>9 impossible. Audrey was a dreadful singer so is EO. plus this Audrey was a rather nasty bitchy personality so I'm kinda glad they picked a bitch to play bitch lol.
>>8 I sooo wish those two would have gotten into the taxi like this.
>>11 I try. But I've shot myself in the foot, because now my name automatically sets to 'EO, I mean Anon.'
For Lex. Sometimes links to Torrilla's Weibo don't open for me either so here is the article on tumblr: http://lokiperfection.tumblr.com/post/127718723284/maryxglz-empire-magazine-source-torrilla
HR as a BFI Gala Screening.
>>16 yes, HR was still in post-production and couldn't make it for cannes
TIFF: ISTL Sept 11. HR Sept. 13
Calgary Festival: ISTL gala (Sept 23)
San Sebastian Festival: HR (Sept 19-26)
Atlantic Film Festival Halifax, Nova Scotia: ISTL (Sept 17-24)
the poster says he is in Toronto. I'm not sure he is...
I can't understand, is it official or based on a stupid joke from G guy back months ago?
>>20 Yeah, she's probably mistaken. I think it's a little early for him to be there, and there haven't actually been any sightings.
>>21 For some reason those Sandman rumors resurfaced again, but Neil Gaiman has denied them on Twitter just this week. So no Sandman for Tom.
>>23 oh great! I've heard that he wasn't going to be in that movie, so that's why I was so confused. but duh. the article that uses bustle as a reference... the only thing I liked is about Tom and Purseface lol. the only truth (half true) in that.
>>26 you mean forgetting wearing his underwear? that's definitely not a fold of the cloth lol. oh, Thomas...
ah so there is a new "source" that told them she got there after the Paris fashion week to meet him. I wonder why the Purseface wasn't seen with him immediately and wasn't taken to Wimbledon. not good and smart enough.
>>28 not I think a new source but a rehash of the US Weekly story.
The closer we get to ISTL's first red carpet, the more "articles" of this kind we are going to get. Hardly surprising.
The comments are a must-read.
>>30 sadly some of them are right. I myself know at least ten fans excluding myself who won't see the movie with the Purseface in it, and there are more. I believe Tom was caught in Purseface PR game and there will be no even friendship between them, but it affects him badly. and it's sad.
>>31 He's probably thinking, 'Geez, I know this was a freebie from Jessica's bf, but it's shite.'
He looks a little ridiculous with the huge jacket and his toothpick-thin leg. Fitted, skinny-boy, fitted.
Anon is correct - Franchise Herald is one of those click-bait,online-only sites that rehash articles from other sources. Others are Venture Post, Christian Daily? - there are a lot of them.
Unfortunately, some people think that these articles = TH or EO PR at work. Not the case. We can debate about US Weekly/Just Jared and even the DM being official mouthpieces, but these sites/articles aren't worth the time.
I think those pap photos from Toronto were taken when he was visiting a spa...maybe he'll show up there with EO!!
The couple that spas together, stays together - if they're together at all.
>>35 Pregnancy rumours? God. I haven't seen these. Presumably put about on the basis that it isn't implausible in the sense that they are heterosexual and of childbearing age so maybe it will come true and then they can say they predicted it all along. The BBC says it will rain in London with much the same game plan in view.
Like Mrs Marcellus Wallace he loves a good foot massage.
>>37 I think people are thinking that TH will 'pull a Cumberbatch,' which means relationship (BAM), engagement (BAM), pregnancy (BAM-BAM). Did you blink - because you missed it if you did. Thanks to BC, relationship, engagement and pregnancy just go hand-in-hand.
He has a thing for spa, but I think the visit in Toronto was on order from GdT, I remember Jim Beaver wrote about having to go too.
It was a translation error. Someone said that you go to a spa to get your beaver sorted out and GdT misunderstood.
>>36 so I guess the fact that the spa got shut down by the police was a sign that it was never going to work.
>>40 And how do I get the type of boss that orders me to go to a spa? Seriously, boy has got it MADE: Jim Beaver, hot and cold running beaver, free jackets - even if they are ridiculous, enforced trips to a spas.
>>36 are you joking ( I hope) . my sense of humor dies when something like that is said.
the only one true gf he had was Susannah. all the rest - forgive my French- were expensive prostitutes. the Purseface is one of them.
This work spa thang is very overrated. I once went on a business trip to Morocco and got offered a free hammam with a (fortunately female) colleague. We were sitting there in our bikinis when two burly Moroccan ladies marched in. Suddenly we were laying naked side by side on a slab having what looked like builders' gravel rubbed into our titties by people who didn't care about inflicting pain. My suffering was not reduced by the fact that I have now seen a work colleague in the nude. Though I guess TH gets that without having to visit the spa.
>>46 you can't be serious about Tom.sleeping with his colleagues. or you read too much of Toby.
>>47 I think Anon just meant seeing work colleagues naked - he's done sex scenes, there was that story he told Josh Horowitz about seeing Hemsworth naked, and apparently Luke Evans' character in HR runs around naked for a bit.
>>47 Get a grip. Who mentioned sleeping with anybody's colleagues? I said I had seen a work colleague naked at a spa. I then said he had seen his work colleagues naked without having to go to a spa. Which in some cases he undoubtedly has done.
>>46 What is it with that? I had the same happen to me in Germany. Hey, Brunhilda, the towel is there for a reason - because you haven't bought me dinner and you don't know my middle name, which means you do not get to look at my lady bits.
I think that's why he was seen in a gym. Skull Island is happening thanks God
You know Lex, I think that not only this is not the place for you, any community isn't the place for you.
You can't go one post without insulting someone.
So, please, go away. Open a tumblr blog or something and rant there.
>>53 you know what? it's rather interesting that everyone is slowed to have their opinion except me. everyone is allowed to say what they want except me. I winder why. is it because I have a different opinion then you and call Elizabeth Olsen her real name and say the truth about the status of their relationship? is it because some people here troll me and then I'm the one who is guilty? nice, very nice.
>>54 Elizabeth Olsen real name is Elizabeth Olsen.
And the point is not that you can't express your opinion, the point is that every time you do so you use insults. You seem incapable to go more than 4 words without resentment or vomit.
be sure that's my last post here.
little girl? lol. think what you want, coach potato. I told you we will see who will laugh in the end, remeber y words very well, because soon you will have it we're you who were wrong. remeber my name. you will hear it. I promise you that. and trust me, you will recognize me.
Did lex insult anyone? I mean, she insulted EO, because that's what she does, and she jumped to the wrong conclusion - and too quickly - about what Anon wrote, but we've all done that (damn you, internet, for not having a laugh track or being able to convey sarcasm).
>>52 I guess she was prepping for SI, Couch. I wonder when TH is meant to join? Is the prep work meant to start in late October or is the actual filming meant to start then, so that he would be required earlier? I guess in theory, he might be required right after TIFF and not be available for some/a lot of the other film festivals. Boooo.
>>59 if you want her around start a new thread and invite her there. In my thread you don't call people prostitute because they had dinner with the actor you are obssessed about.
>>61 the call in Atlanta was for Oct. 18th but I have no idea if TH and the rest of the cast will also start filming that day. But since they are prepping now I imagine filming can't be too far away.
I think after TIFF he will surely be at BFI, other festival are definetely a maybe.
>>62 I'm with Coach on this one. Poking a bit of fun at someone because they behaved in a silly way around some paps - ok. Calling some poor woman a prostitute because she was seen with TH - not ok. She's quick to accuse me of reading too much bycycle but that is exactly the sort of vitriolic nuttery that the loonies over there post (for example about Sophie Hunter because she got pregnant before she and Cumberbatch were engaged). Take it elsewhere.
I have a question, since Tom seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. How do things generally work at TIFF? Do they do interviews and photoshoots during the festival, or is that something the actors would go to Toronto early to do? I'm mostly just wondering when we can expect to start hearing about Tom sightings in Toronto.
No idea how things work at TIFF BUT to break up the radio silence, I will just say that the weather in London is currently woeful - I imagine that it is absolutely lovely in Bora Bora ;)
He surely has to turn up at Hamlet at some point .. unless he's going to one of the film screenings. It would be terribly rude othewise..
Sounds like a rumour tacked onto layers of old rumours... a rumour mille feuille...
>>68 Hahaha yeah, I looked up all the legitimate articles and sources and photos from that night, and neither of them was at the party. Someone at classicalite just wanted to get some clicks.
>>66 from what I remember of 2013, it's all during the festivals, because you may need all the cast present for photos and most of all some productions may not have the money to pay a long stay at a fancy hotel. I think TH will likely be in Toronto on the 9th at the earliest or the 10th at the latest.
"Sources suggest the Marvel superhero blockbuster would shoot in Queensland early next year, with production beginning in earnest in March.
Both Captain Marvel – the first female led comic book actioner from the studio – and Thor: Ragnarok are the titles being considered to film in Australia."
That explains the early preparation.
We already knew but now it's official, High Rise at BFI London Film festival.
>>74 A couple new High Rise images in that link! Finally, something new! Maybe we will get a trailer soon.
>>75 yes! I find the one with Irons and kids already creepy.
speaking of trailers, I'm reposting the links TIFF pages for both HR and ISTL.
>>71 Busy, busy couple of months coming up .... seriously: hope he is having a lovely holiday somewhere.
>>79 Quite. if he is preparing I doubt he is somewhere on holiday, but if they start filming in Sept. it means he might be done in Dec. Plenty of time to go on holiday later.
However, now I know don't understand why J.K. Simmons and Keaton dropped out. At Bafta TH said they were going to start filming in late summer/autumn, so it seems like they are respecting the schedule after all.

"A double rainbow, Tom Hiddleston I bumped into on the road, I didn't expect that I get to like here like this far."
if you understand Korean, she talks about her encounter here
A double rainbow! That has to be the sweetest ever description of a fan encounter!
So he's still in london
"@weasleyoswald I just met Tom Hiddleston. He said no selfies as he was doing a photoshoot but like he knows my name"
If Luke was present, there's going to be an interview as well.
Not sure about the shoes with that suit though!
>>103 We need a photo of the ensemble with a good light because the suit is a plum colour and in theory it should match well with those shoes.
I don't mind the colour so much as the thicker soles. He does have quite big feet. I tend to think he looks better with a more formal thin soled shoe.
a bicycle too.
These don't look like they're from the photoshoot, despite the caption.

Here are all the pics from today, courtesy of Torrilla's weibo (http://weibo.com/torilla). I can never get weibo to work on mobile and only sometimes on my computer, so I decided to copy all the HQ links here for anyone else who might have the same problem.
Some more, from various other fans. Credits are on the images.
Just Jared write up with the blue suit paparazzi pics:
He is busting out of that grey suit - it's tight over the arms and legs. Either the wardrobe lady got her measurements wrong or he has really been working out for SI.
little vid for CP
It's snug everywhere.....
>>112 forgot to add, you are right though it's surely the work-out for SI. The suits for photoshoot are lent to the magazine, and they'd never risk to tear a very expensive suuit by giving the wrong measurements.
>>111 this article by JustJared is interesting.
It's a piece about fashion instead of gossip, they mention Luke's name and the fact that he is the PR agent, they name CP as upcoming film instead of ISTL. And no EO.
Nice apology from JustJared
There are 4 suits aren't there? 4 suits 4 pairs of shoes.
Striped Purple, striped grey, striped brown, and blue suit.

Great photos and lovely news! but Leicester square for a photoshoot.. brave brave people (it is tourist central!)
Screen caps from a High Rise teaser:
the page was deleted, watch them here
couple of short vids from the photoshoot
Try this link for the HR screen caps. They came from a trailer which seems to have been released by mistake - producers have then got a bit sniffy over fans sharing, so the link may disappear soon.
Some more funny photo from Soho
Torilla links because they are all grouped together.
The purple suit is definitely the best fit :)
When I checked the list of acotr TIFF provided I could only find TH, Irons and Wheatley but there's more for HR.
"#HighRise cast confirmed to attend @TIFF_NET: Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, dir Ben Wheatley, prod Jeremy Thomas"
"There’s no trailer for Ben Wheatley‘s High-Rise, seemingly in part because there’s isn’t a firm release plan announced in the UK, and no US distributor."
I am amazed by this. I'd pay good money to see TH sunbathing naked and barbecuing a dog!
>>134 me too, I don't see the connection between not having a US distributor and not releasing a trailer in Europe. I wonder if they think that the trailer might put people off it.
Bit of a cheek the producers castigating fans for blogging unauthorised pics on Tumblr. They said they knew "true fans" would want to wait to see it in the cinema - not much chance of that in the UK if there are no release plans.
Quite a sweet positive review of ISTL from a fan.
>>137 That's nice to hear, although a TH's fan is hardly ever going to point out flaws. But How did she get to see it, are they still doing test-screens?
>>133 Hopefully HR will get great reviews at TIFF and some U.S. distributor will jump on it, and then we can have a trailer and a release date.
One of the TIFF screenings of High Rise has been canceled, no reason given.
I guess we could say he really likes CP, of his upcoming films it's the only one he ever tweets about.
>>143 The commenters' twitter names are epic: "Tom's 12 Chest Hairs"... "TomsTieCollection"... lol
>>144 I think there's also an account named after his flatiron and his black sweater lol
So TIFF says that HR Q&A is on the 13th after the film
but HR's twitter says it's on the 14th
HR's twitter says red carpet on the 13th.
"@MoustacheLuke Yes, red carpet on Sun 13th #TIFF15: Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, Ben Wheatley, Jeremy Thomas."
"Just saw sneak peek of Crimson Peak. Not the movie they selling. Beautiful Gothic ROMANCE. Smart and seductive. Best movie after Pan's."
Tom Hiddleston Jessica Chastain - French Interview - SDCC 2015
"**Highrise Premiere Celebration
"Put it up to 11
Toronto pumps up the volume in 2015. Stories of Keith Richards, “Miss Sharon Jones!,” Yo-Yo Ma and Silk Road Ensemble, Janis Joplin, Arcade Fire and “Arab Idol” winner Mohammad Assaf unfold. “Born to Be Blue” reimagines the life of jazz trumpeter Chet Baker (Ethan Hawke), “I Saw the Light” of Hank Williams (Tom Hiddleston). “London Road” brings the National Theatre musical to the screen. The Canadian Music Cafe invites industry badge-holders to check out sync-ready acts."
I'm sure he will be at the HR celebration thing, not so sure about the other one. But now you know where he might show up.
So first yahoo says Thor 3 will be filmed in Australia, now this twitter account says it's Georgia. Considering the film doesn't even have a director yet and they don't start until June, they might end up filming in London again.
"An exciting day working on #Coriolanus-related activities with @josierourke @twhiddleston @hadleyfraser + more #shh #secrets #watchthisspace"
It's all about the WORK not .. though something tells me he doesn't support Jeremy Corbyn (rumoured lefty leader of lefty Labour party)
>>155 given his last follow on twitter I think so.
"Spent today revisiting Coriolanus with some of the gang. Odd how 18 months feels like 5 mins and a lifetime ago @twhiddleston @hadleyfraser"
>>158 indeed. Can't believe it can have been correct if he was in London yesterday. Just goes to show how people assume he is around and then assume they have seen him.
>>159 I wonder what this was about. Hopefully a DVD/Blu-ray with commentary and behind the scenes footage. :)
>>160 The tweet date says the 10th at 4:56, so it might be he left London right away and arrived in Toronto in the early morning. The girl is a University student maybe she was out and about.
>>161 the NTLive rerun of Coriolanus I think, maybe they added some interviews? But I hope with you is for s DVD/Blueray :)
Flights from London to Toronto are 7.5 hours, minus 5 hour time difference so 2.5 hours. If Tom caught a flight in the afternoon he'd get there in the evening Toronto time. Toronto girl tweeted at night so I guess she could have seen him in the evening. However, the tweets from Josie Rourke and ntlive give the impression that they were working in London all day, which would make me think he was still in London, although he could have left earlier in the day while others kept working. Maybe someone will spot him in London or Toronto tomorrow and then we'll know for sure. He may have gone a couple days early to try and get over the jet lag before all the interviews and premiers and photoshoots.
You have to add travel time and check in to those times. At least 1.5 hours in the daytime by car to Heathrow from his place (I am assuming he would not go on the Heathrow Tube with all his stuff), plus 2h check in for international flights. So for an afternoon flight he would have to leave in the morning. Probably didn't hike his stuff to meet Josie so also add time travelling back from wherever they met. I don't think it works tbh.
Meh, they could have done his Coriolanus interview first thing in the morning - it probably wouldn't have taken more than an hour - he could have then hopped on a flight to Toronto in the early afternooon and arrived in the evening local time. Coriolanus interviews with the other cast members and Josie could have continued in London all day - if Tom, Josie, Hadleigh Frasier, Deborah Findlay and Mark Gatiss took an hour each to interview that pretty much takes up the entire day.
>>165 Ah you're right, I forgot about travel and check-in and all that hassle.
Let's make it 11 hours, flight+check-in+reaching the airport, and let's say the girl tweeted as soon as she saw him.
4:56 am on the 10th in Toronto less 11 hours means he left Heathrow at 5:56pm on the 9th, so he could have spent the day working at Coriolanus and still have left yesterday.
All things are possible. He could have been there for an interview. He could have done it first and left early. None of us know. My personal view is that the more likely explanation is that the fan was mistaken.
>165 You're planning that out like he's a normal person, not a famous actor with an assistant, travelling first class. The assistant can get his cases to the airport, he can hop on the tube to Paddington and get the Heathrow Express (which would take less than an hour from Covent Garden), meet the assistant to pick up his cases, he then gets whisked through check-in and security and heads straight to the First Class lounge. He probably only needs to allow an hour/hour and a half at the airport because he's not going to be queueing.
Does anyone else have a problem with timestamps on tweets? I am in the same time zone as Toronto, and if I open her tweet in my browser it gives a time of 7:56pm but in the Twitter app it lists the time as 10:56pm.
I think we are all overlooking the most important bit of that sighting - the girl did not mention Elizabeth Olsen. ;)
>>170 No, I am planning that speaking personally as somebody who lives in NW London and travels internationally a lot for work, always first or business class. When you hit security there is always a bottleneck because although there is a fast track lane it is staffed by fewer people. It can be very variable.
>>170 But really, my fundamental issue with the putative "make it to Toronto in time" timetable is that it all sounds so effortful. Why not enjoy a day with your luvvie mates and travel in a more leisurely way the following day? A day like that would be hellishly stressful.
To link to a specific post without having to write the >> , just click/press on the post number you want to reply to, it will automatically appear in the reply box.
>>177 I just tried it and it works! Even on my phone!! You are so clever :))
>>176 I agree with you, but at the same time, it might be he had work to do today in Toronto that forced a stressful flight.
>>179 mine loads but I can only ever see the first page.
>>181 in theory when you reach the end of the page it should load more posts, like it happens with tumblr.
>>180 That's what I was assuming, that he would be press-junketing today and tomorrow before the premiere.
This is the guy who took a red-eye from LA to London the night before Coriolanus rehearsals started, then went straight from Heathrow to the Donmar the next morning. He's quite used to these kind of travel arrangements.
>>181 although that only works with the most recents posts, for the rest you need to register to weibo.
"Sony Pictures Classics Dinner
Sony Pictures Classics is hosting an intimate dinner to celebrate the studio’s six films premiering at TIFF on Sept. 12, at Creme Brasserie. Elisabeth Moss, Tom Hiddleston, and Elizabeth Olsen are slated to attend this years exclusive dinner celebration."
So, SPC's party on the 12th and HR's premiere celebration dinner on the 13th.
From the man himself, ISTL first video clip
Looks like he is concentrating hard while singing!
yeah, but it could be part of the story, like maybe the band was auditioning? He sounds good. I was expecting more stiffness in how he moved considering Hank's back problem, but again maybe at that point in the story the pain wasn't so strong.
He does sound good!
"‘Kong: Skull Island’ Moving From Universal to Warner Bros."
"Sources close to the situation say while this is not a done deal, things are moving forward and that the idea is to have future “Kong” films possibly cross over with “Godzilla” films, to which WB owns the sequel rights."
Some additional pics for ISTL.
Since it was TH who posted that clip, do you think he had the scene with EO cut on purpose? lol (just kidding)
>>191 his voice is stronger than Hank's was, but it gives a more modern sound to the songs (I can't stand Hank's singing)
>>193 I can see it now - "Hey Olly, I have a job for you! Cut as much Lizzie Olsen out of this video clip as you can." I have to say it's odd to see a photo of her and Tom together without a scarf or purse covering her face. ;)
>>195 glad I'm not the only one who can't watch them on screen together without laughing a bit :)
But it is strange though, that pic of Hank and Audrey is clearly just after the end of the clip and media must have got it from somewhere, like the full trailer.
>>195 They are opening the ride now in case the film flops or doesn't get made?
>>197 Maybe they're hoping the ride will be a good promotion for it. Either that or they are much more confident in the film's success than we are.
>>198 Pity the ride is at universal and the film is moving to warners!
>>199 Universal has a good relationship with Warner - they license all the Harry Potter films from them for the Wizarding World - so they should be able to work out an arrangement for Skull Island, but it will probably cost them some serious money.
>>196 They probably got it from Torrilla like everybody else!
Red carpet for ISTL has started. Tom and EO arrived separately. Pics on Twitter and Torrilla.
Not I'd say looking very "together". He had more chemistry with Tilda Swinton for ISTL.
"Tom Hiddleston is very impressive in I SAW THE LIGHT, capturing Hank Williams voice with eerie power. I wish the film was better."
Uh-oh. At least Tom was named as the one positive.
"I SAW THE LIGHT: Tom Hiddleston's musical numbers are the only highlights of this bland Hank Williams biopic. It's an anemic WALK THE LINE."
"Performances/visuals in I SAW THE LIGHT are strong, but it’s the kind of musical biopic I dislike: more “troubled,” less “genius.” #TIFF15"
"I Saw the Light and it's mostly dull despite some great singing by Tom Hiddleston. He's electric when on stage as Hank Williams. #TIFF15"
"I Saw the Light is for people who care more about Hank Williams' troubles than his genius. Which means it's not for me. #TIFF40"
"Tom Hiddleston is pretty great in I Saw the Light...if you don't mind that his singing voice is good, but miles from Hank Williams' sound."
Hum. May explain why he has been tweeting about Crimson Peak more. Our boy's no fool and although he reasonably says he's proud of his performance in ISTL he probably knows in his heart of hearts that CP is the better film. I haven't seen a single tweet saying "meh CP".
Well, I was out enjoying my Friday night, I'll look everything later, but you want to tell me nobody on the red carpet asked if these two are together?
Hollywood reporter review
I'm glad that his performance is well received. As for the film, we kind of knew it wasn't that good didn't we? Only fangirls could think that those not so good reports from the test-screens were a plot against TH.
This one's pretty bad:
If they did, nobody on tumblr has giffed or quoted it yet. State of play appears to be they arrived separately, no hand holding or PDA. There is one photo set of him with a arm around her (other hand in pocket!) but it is in front of the advertising board so whether it is "we are together" or "Tom poses with arm round co star as we have seen a hundred times before" is anybody's guess. Aside from the photos in front of the board I haven't seen any of them where he is touching her, or even where they are standing together save for the q&a after the movie.
>>216 There's one photo of them standing together at the after party, a couple of them with the cake, and some of them separately or with other co-stars/crew etc. They arrived at the party separately.
>>216 yes, I've just read EO was papped alone when she arrived in Toronto, but not TH. Given they also arrived separately at the RC, I would go as far as saying they are not even much friendly anymore, BoraBora arm is a declaration :)
Torrilla has video interviews.
photo during the q&a
SFGATE reviews, with a cirtics to TH's singing voice
Some photos from SPC instragram
>>219 Sorry should have expressed myself better. I knew he had been interviewed but I meant if someone had asked "are you together" I'd have expected it to be clipped or giffed whatever the answer.
>>218 I saw the after party pics. I didn't think they looked very together in Jose either. I appreciate they might not want to give everyone the money shot on the red carpet but if you're with someone surely there comes a point when you hold hands or something. I'd have thought the after party among friends would be that time.
>>223 Yeah. Even if they were together before (which I still doubt), I don't think they are now.
Also, there were a number of reporters doing interviews on the red carpet, but I don't think they've all posted their videos yet. I expect they'll go online during the weekend.
>>223 My bad, I haven't had coffee yet.
In that borabora hand photo she is angled away from him isn't she? not even an arm around him.
>>224 I doubt with you and add that if they were just friend, the friendship is gone now. as far as RC predictions go, we nailed the separate and hardly talking to each other part.
>>224 I am beginning to think you called it right. The body language feels very off to me. With Susanna Fielding he couldn't keep his hands off her. And with Tilda or Jess same thing though they obviously never dated. At the OLLA premiere he and Tilda were so sexy with one another I would have believed it if someone told me they were going out. He held her hand the whole time and he couldn't take his eyes off her.
>>226 High five to all the wonderful people on this board! Sometimes I feel like this is the one place on the internet to find reasonable people, at least in regards to Tom.
Well, I guess TH doesn't have to intensively promote this film at festivals at this point.
LA Times article about HR.
>>227 He totally had a crush on Tilda, nobody will be able to convince me otherwise. :)
>>227 Tilda always hold hands with her friends, she said so in an interview, I found their behaviour very similar to how Rachel behaved with TH at TIFF for The Deep Blue See, maternal.
I mean look at this photos, she is not even looking at him.
(I know I'm exaggerating because the photos are just an instant, but it's fun)
selfies with fans
>>232 Yeah, but in some other photos she is pressing her body against his. I really don't get it...
>>230 I'd go gay for Tilda, I think she's wonderful! Totally agree that he fancied her madly. And she him. I thought they looked gorgeous together. Always assumed that when he was with a GF you'd see the same chemistry. When he's hot for someone it's pretty obvious. Not the case yesterday.
But whence US Weekly? I still don't buy that the May article was a total fabrication.
>>228 And yes totally. That's why I'm here. I like to think we can speculate on a fun way without being crazy about it.
And - most fun of all - bets are on for the HR red carpet....!!!
>>234 it's the thing with photos, they can trick your eyes :)
But the RC was live on periscope and from what I'm reading, they were really distant.
>>236 HR's red carpet prediction: no show for EO.
>>238 I agree. I doubt Tom would want the HR red carpet to turn into some big TH/EO speculation.
The link at Torrilla doesn't work for me so here's the direct link to the RedCarpetDiary interview
Here's the direct link to the q&a
and some link to some nice photos of TH, all credits to Torrilla
>>239 me too. Though that was my prediction when we first discussed it!!
>>242 you know you're right, to make it more interesting we should add motivations, no show because there was never anything going on, because there's nothing going on now or because they don't want that kind of chattering?
Though after last night there's hardly much doubt left and TH's didn't mind the chattering when he was with SF at TIFF.
>>243 I repeat my post 903 on the last thread (sorry don't know how to link to it)!
Duh I mean 904. Though qaz was also bang on the money in 903.
>>244 Oh yes, and I used your 1 motivation for my prediction if I remember well: there was never anything going on.
We really were quite thorough in thread3, there's basically everything :)
I reckon something went on during filming. The break up of her engagement, him going underground and all method-y, and the original US Weekly article all to my mind point to some intense connection and time together. Whether sexual who knows. I think like most holiday romances once it got into real life it was utimately doomed. Pursegategate looks in retrospect like the last hurrah. I think after that encounter only one person thought the relationship had legs. I imagine its demise has been hastened by the knowledge that the film is a stinker.
Oh and by the way WHAT is Elizabeth Olsen wearing? She is pretty with a good figure and yet she appears to be wearing the drapes from around Morticia's dressing table. Why?
>>248 Hahaha I know! The dress is awful, and so are the shoes. She looked nice at Deauville a couple days ago in the white dress, I'm not sure what happened between then and TIFF.
variety review's where they compliment EO, a lot.
Tonight is SPC's party at Creme Brasserie, 2nd public occasion before HR.
smiling at TH standing one step ahead of everyone else during the q&a. he did that 2 years ago too didn't he?
oh, did EO gibe TH during the q&a "he's so much more eloquent than I am" as in "he talks so much"?
>>251 ouch. not a good review at all as far as the film as a whole goes. Despite the individual performance being praised I doubt they will get the nominations since the film seems by common consensus to be poor. These are the worst reviews I have seen of a project he's been involved in. I feel so sorry for him after he invested so much emotional energy into it.
>>255 yes, much as one can be happy about his work, it's difficult to promote a film nobody likes.
Did someone understood what was said at minute 19:55, when a fan says something to TH and EO jumps in and then says sorry? I can't hear anything.
>>259 Thanks! Anything else of interest? I no longer have the energy to wade through all that "my husband on the veranda" crap that those CB threads get swamped with.
Random thought on the q&a - if nobody knew the history would anybody look at them and think they were together? If they are in a relationship they are hiding it unbelievably well.
>>261 nobody, but actually, that's problem I have with pap night, if we didn't have the usweekly article in May, we would never have taken that for a romantic date, the body language was all wrong.
Yeah they looked to me almost like they'd had a row.
Against my better judgment I had a peek at CB. The party line over there seems to be that they are together but because he is a Good Person he is not using it for publicity and/or not baiting the fans with it. I must say I really don't get the logic there. If they are together, wasn't the whole point of pap night to get it out there so the fans could get over themselves and/or as a prelude to the RC so it didn't look totally manufactured? And I still would be surprised if he could keep a lid on his feelings. I would expect this at the very least http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=14kv32r&s=5#.VfQ2WYZ4WrU
>>265 or like with Lara Pulver http://i.imgur.com/E0Z0r5H.jpg
There's absolutely no logic to that line of thought, it doesn't even take into consideration the fact that after pap night they spent more than a month apart and it's not like they were especially busy (and since we had an almost weekly sighting of him we know she wasn't with him).
>>266 Though I always thought the hug for LP was just solidarity with someone else who thought orange was a good colour for foundation....
I remember the DM not even reconizing her and calling her TH's new love and she tweeted about it, because she had a bf and making fun of them because they couldn't spot her unless she was naked.
Am I right that TIFF Is the only festival outing for ISTL that he was slated to attend? Then I guess the U.S. premiere whenever that is, if he can make it with filming commitments. Not actually many more opportunities for us to see them together. And I shall be interested to see how much SPC pushes it after those bad reviews, and how he copes doing publicity for it. Just posting those OLLA links and comparing the thousand watt smile to yesterday made me see a real difference. Or comparing yesterday to ComicCon when he looked like he was having the time of his life.
From People Magazine
Tom Huddleston review of ISTL for Time Out
Another q&a before or after ISTL
after, because it started at 10AM and it's now past 12 in Toronto.
He arrived alone, well with Luke but you what I mean
got it wrong again, those last photos (plus selfies with fans that you can find at Torrilla) were after the screening.
So he left alone :)
another one from people mag
And we are back with media using the romance to promote the film
That Daily Mail article was awful. Most of their articles are awful. Plus some of the info was wrong - that sneaky tumblr pic was taken only a couple days before the paparazzi incident in July, not all the way back in May.
Unless they outright deny that they are dating, the media will keep reporting on the "relationship." Romance gets people to click links and buy papers. And I don't think they're going to deny it - I think they will let the press use the "on and off screen couple!" angle of promotion since the reviews of ISTL have been so bad save for their performances.
Commenter #51 on Celebitchy is thinking along the same lines as I am.
"#Selfie of the century with Tom Hiddleston. 😍"
I guess this is at the SPC party? First pic I've seen of Tom in that suit in Toronto.
"At EW's annual 'Must' party held @ThompsonToronto this aft: Sandra Bullock, Bryan Cranston, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, et al #TIFF15"
Here's one of Tom with Jessica Chastain: http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/actors-jessica-chastain-and-tom-hiddleston-attend-ews-must-news-photo/487934946
Elizabeth Olsen was there, but so far no photos of her with Tom.
>>282 I think saying nothing may be the smartest thing he has done in ages. What can he say to make it better? No we were never dating makes her look really really bad (US Weekly loser article). Saying we were but we aren't now is hurtful to her - and as you say loses the only angle anyone is currently interested in. Saying we are dating - doesn't appear to be true. Every article about the relationship angle is going with the pic of them together in front of the advertising board. I still haven't seen anything of them together looking like a couple as opposed to co stars.
Pictures from the SPC Celebration Dinner:
I figured out who Tom's secret girlfriend is... it's Eddie Redmayne.
" I still haven't seen anything of them together looking like a couple as opposed to co stars." Indeed, including last night
Look at how he greeted Elizabeth Moss
He went to 3 parties, TIFF cast party, SPC's and Must List.
I can't find the video for these gifs.
Video at SPC party
Found the video of those gifs
Video of yesterday q&a
He is definitely dating an Olsen. Peggy Olsen that is.
It was suggested on tumblr they arrived separately "but walked the red carpet together." This appears to mean that they posed in front of the advertising signboard for about 3 photos.
>>298 According to that logic he's also dating Elisabeth Moss, Jessica Chastain, and Marc Abraham, and he's married to Eddie Redmayne.
>>299 according to that logic, he's married to Eddie, friend with the other three, and barely in touch with EO ;)
Yeah, he really hearts Eddie!
>>283 Yes I get that. Also though I see the force of one of the replies, that Just Jared and co have precious little to write about given that the film is pants so they will use the "romance" angle to generate click bait if they can't write "Oscar shoe in".
I bet it's the first time he's seen Eddie this year - I reckon there were some Oscar congratulations going on there. Looking at the Getty pictures they shook hands with one hand each, then moved to the double-handed handshake, then went into a full-on body hug.
>>302 yes I don't think that particular poster was saying TH and EO are using again the romance to promote the film, but the media are. And I also thought so, since they are gossip outlets - with the exception of Hollywood Reporter.
However it's annoying, because it's the film that received bad reviews, not the two of them, but unfortunately to people that don't follow him it will look like it's TH and EO using their romance to support their film.
>>303 He was in school with Eddie so it's hardly a mystery that they are friends, though maybe not close ones - based solely on the fact TH wasn't at Eddie's wedding.
You can't really see from the torrilla pics but that jacket is knitted! He should wear it with the tie...!
>>307 you can, if you enlarge it ;)
He is not as fit as I thought he would be, or maybe it's because he was slouching, especially in that snapchat/gifs video.
>>305 Yes, I know. I always get the impression they're more like Facebook friends than friends-friends - they keep up with what each other are doing, they know all the same people, and they're happy to see each other and chat in real life, but they don't really make an effort to hang out socially.
>>308 I thought that. I wondered whether it was because the t shirt is a bit drapey and clingy. He does like those rather diaphanous v neck t shirts. Do you remember the almost transparent one?
>>310 yes, but it seems like he bought a new set fall/winter collection.
>>309 indeed, but it's nice that he goes along so well with his colleagues.
>>313 I think she was talking about EO as she was replying to a comment about tablecloth dress (which I confess I liked!)
I'd say he is more excited to have his arm round Brie (ahem) http://cheers-mrhiddleston.tumblr.com/post/128996046657/hiddlestonredalert-marcandrewsmith-great
I'd say that like you pointed out yesterday, it's one thing to not make a show of a relationship on RC and Q&A if you want to keep it private, but never be close or spending time together at parties it's just not natural or normal for 2 people who are dating. And there were fans at those parties who would have spotted them.
>>316 I think I mostly like it because she is wearing decent shoes and has brushed hair and proper makeup. She looks really pretty with a classic eyeliner and a red lip but that smudgy gothy eye makeup she had the day before does nothing for her.
>>320 He has gone mad with the new clothes hasn't he? New jacket, new top, new shoes. Still we'll be seeing that t shirt 1,000,000 times over the next few years.
>>321 And he was wearing that photoshoot's lilac shirt last night, with striped suit. I don't know if we can handle so many new outfit in one go.
>>322 Suits he buys quite a few of. But he has had a casual clothes explosion recently see also the weird grey jacket at comic con (inevitably with white v necked tee). I notice he has been true to form insofar as he wore a new coat to Letters Live which he was still wearing in the sneaky bicycle pics in July! If you look at the knitted jacket on the gif it is about as like a grandad cardigan as a garment could be while still being a jacket. Bless.
>>323 that's true about the suits, but I was surprised by the change of colour, lilac was unheard of so far. New coat to replace the quilted ones, knitted jacket to replace the old sweater. New set of v necked tshirt. New vans!
What will the future bring? Please let it be new boots.
>>324 Fat chance with the boots I suspect. He wore them to pursegategate with the Letters Live coat. They are his one true enduring love.
He perhaps feels trusting of the lilac shirt because he was enticed to wear it in the photo shoot. Everything else is still black white grey or navy! He is adorably useless at casual dressing.
>>326 that chemistry was so much in evidence yesterday!
>>327 Totally! And she mentions this detail, that in 2011 when TH had a gf they had perfect chemistry, now that there are rumours about them being a couple (which MTV reports).
If there was a leak to USWeekly, she was so behind it. I can see why that CB poster said EO has a sense of entitlement.
>>328 She still wants it so bad. No wonder he looked very awkward on the first night. Probably the first time they saw each other since PurseGate.
new clip for Crimson Peak (I haven't watched it so I can't say if there are spoilers)
>>329 I don't know about her still wanting it. It seems to me that she's taking revenge where she can. Yesterday at the Q&A with that gibe about his eloquence, here she goes after his thoroughness "I feel like when you’re always that thorough you always have that expectation and other people have that expectation".
>>331 I agree. I think Elizabeth's saccharin-sweet comments about Tom are just her way of passive-aggressively setting herself up to be the "poor girlfriend" when this thing finally ends. Very odd that they were interviewed separately.
>>331 I think we are agreed that all is not well in the garden of shag! I wonder if he met her for the first time when he got out of his limo.
I see even CB, which usually casts quite a jaded eye on life, is buying (or click baiting) the "they are together and posed as a couple" - what????
Help! Two couch potatoes!
>>330 watched it. No. But could the full length theatrical trailer be any more spoilery anyway?
Sorry, the not-Couch Potato is me. I don't know why it posted like that.
>>336 I think if you forget to put a name in it calls you CP automatically. I am aware mine is not the most original or distinctive but nobody else uses the same (amazingly!) so it seems to have stuck!
>>336 It's okm the board gives the name Couch Potato to any post where the Name space isn't filled. Mine is blue to mark the difference in case of occasional poster :)
>>335 I have such a good feeling about CP. Instead I'm a bit tensed for HR.
>>338 Ahh, ok. Well, I guess I've got a board name now! Anyway, I just looked at MTv Josh H's Twitter & pretty much all of his TIFF interviews are group interviews. The Martian cast, Trumbo cast & on-screen couples were interviewed together: NHoult & KStew, JasonS & AlisonB. Kinda sticks out that Tom & Lizzie weren't.
>>340 Even at Comic Con he did group cast interviews. Tom, Jessica Chastain, and Mia W were all interviewed together - which we still haven't seen video of.
TH in Toronto
>>344 I meant Josh Horowitz, he interviewed TH and EO separately instead of together like he's been interviewing other people at TIFF and Comic Con.
"I'll be chatting with Tom Hiddleston tomorrow. Thinking I might try to sneak in a few of your questions. Send to me w/#asktom"
>>347 I'd go with alone? I can't even see Luke. Surely not with EO. He is a creature of habit.
"What a pleasure to meet @twhiddleston. Friendly & articulate; an interviewer's dream combo. #ISawTheLight "
>>350 Three mugs on the table and someone's knee on the left side of the photo, so EO and Marc Abraham were there too... guess they weren't a "pleasure to meet" lol.
>>350 Dang! That's from the Fandango interview w/ Tom, Lizzie & the director. Kinda mean of the interviewer to crop Lizzie out of the pic & only compliment Tom.
Hey, nippers. Dropping in to say Hi and deliver this gift:
For those that don't want to wade through.
There have been a lot of links between you and Tom Hiddleston, about you two dating. I don’t know if that’s something you confirm, but how do you feel —
Just about to post that from the Lipstick site.
Answer to the last question btw:
Missed you guys. I've been on holiday - up in the mountains without internet or even cell coverage! Back to work.
Seriously though ... his longest lasting public relationship after SF has to be with - Luke.
(I'm running away now as the flames reach my feet)...
Well, I was wrong - I thought they were just going to let the speculation ride.
>>358 Hahaha either Luke or that one sweater from the Live Below the Line and Loki'd videos.
God. I go out for dinner and come back to this?!!!!
Good for you Couch - you called it right!
This leaves me even more fascinated by the U.S. Weekly articles. Where from? I still find it hard to believe that was a total off the wall fabrication which she had nothing to do with.
PS you can't keep the new favourite Letters Live jacket down!! http://m.weibo.cn/page/tpl?containerid=1005051846858632_-_WEIBO_SECOND_PROFILE_WEIBO&itemid=&title=全部微博#showPic
>>360 As she pointed out in that interview, someone (cough her PR cough) has a history of linking her to famous actors in the press, and then she denies the relationships a few months later. This is actually something that went on with her even before she was engaged to Boyd Holbrook, so I think it's part of her PR's strategy. Though I'm still not exactly sure what they're trying to do - make her look desirable? like a victim of the press? just to keep her name out there by suggesting she's romantic or hooking up with her costars? Of course there's a chance that maybe something was going on between her and Tom and it's not anymore, therefore denial, but I don't think so.
>>362 I wonder if there was something, fairly new or casual, that got killed by the publicity. Or that somebody (guess who, cough cough) wanted there to be something going on.
Anyway a lot of gossip journalists will be eating dirt tomorrow. Celebitchy suggested she was pregnant under that peplum!
Why do you find that hard to believe? It wouldn't be the first time a gossip site has made up a story!
'People can think what they like' is celeb-speak for 'I don't really care who random strangers think I'm dating'. That's exactly why the gossip sites get away with just making shit up - they know most celebs don't think it's worth getting upset about, as long as they're not actually accused of cheating, which would be libel. Hence all the gossip sites being so careful about saying there was no cheating going on.
So that's that, I guess. Weird that Lizzie just let the rumors grow & grow & grow for almost 9 months & then acts all indignant that she's actually asked to clarify. Whatever. But I gotta say, now that it's pretty clear Lizzie won't get any award nominations, I wonder if that's why she wanted to put the rumor to rest. This rumor no longer helps Lizzie, it only helps the film & possibly Tom.
>>364 Because she is known to use US Weekly as her PR organ of choice. As for example Clooney uses People. It was fairly extensively discussed on (I think) thread 3.
EO was at the High-Rise screening lol :
Steven Weintraub @colliderfrosty
HIGH RISE is the hot ticket tonight. Just talked to Elizabeth Olsen, Eddie Redmayne, and spotted many other big names
You can see EO behind him in this one
Apparently there is extensive nudity.
Review by William Bibbiani, Crave Online:
Well I got it right but I thought they would ask him since he is the homewrecker. I guess Luke made it clear to press that TH won't answer that sort of question:
I think as a strategy it goes along with what I said about her and her gibes at TH. I'm with Anon that she went a bit JA and tried to create a relationship and since it didn't work now she is the one talking. Again she says they have been friends for 4 years, so she didn't cheat on her fiancè.
this is from CB, a collection of twitter comments for HR fromthe audience I guess.
“HIGH-RISE isn’t SNOWPIERCER in a condo, it’s COSMOPOLIS.”
"I literally almost fainted - Tom is kinky as f***. Sexiness times 10000. The full throttle. And lots of thrusting. #TomHiddleston"
"HIGH RISE was a pretty crazy ride. Some are going to love it. Most will not. Need to see it again. #tiff15"
About EO and why she is talking now, together with saying that it's because she knows nothing will ever happen and she moved on, obviously it might also be that they were always just friends, though why just friends wouldn't hang out together at parties it's a mystery.
"I have never seen so many people walk out of a film. #HighRise"
Hi guys, I had a busy weekend and missed all the latest news :)
So, if anything was happening at all, it's apparently over.
"hollywoodreporterTom Hiddleston shares the screen with the always lovely Elizabeth Olsen in #ISawTheLight,"
apparently it has more to do with his behind.
"If you just want to see Tom Hiddleston's behind for ten minutes, #HighRise is the perfect movie for you. #TIFF15"

Tom Hiddleston - I Saw The Light - Relationships
"The two-hour film was shot in record time, 38 days to be exact, which left the 34-year-old actor almost no down time to debrief in between shoots. "We shot it very fast, we shot the film in 38 days, it's long yeah and it was longer. I was in everyday and in every scene and so I just, I didn't really have time to be myself."

(one of the funniest thing of the EO saga is now watching the bycycle woman having to bite the dust.)
>>383 Oh I know, I went on there for about 30 seconds today to see what she was saying and couldn't take it. She's super angry, probably because her inbox was filled with "I told you so" messages from the people she's been calling delusional nanny fangirls for the last six months.
""Hank Williams said the sunset in the evening was the loneliest time in the day, and I think that came from something deep within. I hope there are moments in the film where you can see that," Tom Hiddleston of his character in #ISawTheLight. #THRatTIFF"

What did they do to this book!
he wore a double breast for HR Q&A. That photoshoot really did a number on him. Blue would have been better though.
Screendaily article about HR
Btw, EO arrived holding hands with....ISTL's director Abrahams
with knitted blue tie
>>391 And TH, a kind soul that he is, was acting as a decoy to help her hide the relationship with the director, and not with Chris E.! Lol
>>396 no anonsy, MY bad, i've been skimming and posting so many things while also working that my brain clearly can handle it anymore. You were perfectly clear :)
>>397 Haha I understand, I spent so much time on Twitter the day of the ISTL premiere and saw so many hashtags that when the reviews came out I could barely read real sentences anymore.
From the Screendaily review, do not read that review if you want to avoid spoiler.
"In Tom Hiddleston, the director has found an actor who can deliver the central character’s essential distance with the right mix of sympathy, intelligence and raw carnality. The film sings, and, frequently, dances; it feels alive."
See, watching the variety studio fandango video you can totally say "they were only just friends". EO says that she met with TH 4 years ago and they kept in touch all these years. So to me it makes no sense that they'd wait so much to crazy fall in love with each other. And when watching the hollywood reporter video even my own speculations about EO throwing gibes at TH make little sense.
>>401 Oh what a load of absolute bollocks Kaiser is spouting. She is covering her back because yesterday she ran a "pregnancy?" story. And if she believes the "photographed together multiple times in London" story then she is out of her mind. There were 2 occasions: creepy stalker fan shot and pursegategate.
By contrast this sounds plausible (also from CB):
"Old and cynical party of one here to propose a theory:
Someone’s PR team leaked the dating stories ahead of the film festivals to garner some press. The same PR person likely tipped off the paps re: the posh dinner “date”, and probably planted the stories on the gossip sites that they’ve been an item since filming.
>>402 I don't know what's worse, her writing that bs, or people reacting to it. If they were a couple she would have said nothing, to avoid looking like idiots in the future. Now that she talked others will maybe ask her.
>>404 It is fun to speculate when it is ambiguous pics or gossipy articles (even if seeming to be planted). But when it comes from the horse's mouth in clear terms I tend to say "ok game over". I know celebs do lie - Clooney denied dating Amal and then got engaged but the interesting thing was that he had never commented before (save I think to confirm known relationships were over). But EO has commented on rumours before and was keen seemingly to get the accurate story out about her breakup with Boyd. She was asked and she was pretty direct about TH.
>>406 yes, me too. But if you read CB posters they are writing the most absurd plots and things that can't be proved just to go on talking about it. Oh well, it took how many months for people to stop with JA? It's going to be the same here.
>>407 And I say this all as someone who thought they were. I still think they may have been, and she didn't exactly say they never had. But as to what is going on now - all the evidence points one way. Also, as others have commented in a not so mad way, I'd they are dating why not just say MYOB? There is no downside to that response either way - don't engage and let people in, and keep the rumour mill going.

Last day, pheew!
"Look who's back! This time for High-Rise. #varietystudio #tiff"
No new I think. That one was a turtle and had a button detail. He has gone maaaad! Glad to see the dreaded boots back though - nice to have something reliable in this crazy few days...!!
>>411 oh true, it was a turtle neck. New clothes old boots. Too much new can kill you.
High Rise Telegraph review
>>401 Ugh. Has the reporting on CB always been this bad? I know they're a gossip website, but it seems like they've gotten more ridiculous over the last few months.
>>415 TH's always were a little more on the news then trying to clickbait people into posting. Not anymore. I guess they need more money.
>>416 I'm not even going to bother with them anymore. I used to check celebitchy for Tom and a couple other celebrities, but it's completely pointless if the articles are going to be so terrible and the comments are going to be about Colin Firth being locked in someone's trunk or making pancakes on the veranda or whatever.
In the meantime there a parade of blues to admire
more at Torrilla's
>>419 very much, and it's pleasant to talk about it.
>>415 >>417 They were always more or less sensible and skeptic over there, IDK WTH happened.
Don't even get me started about husbands and verandas, it was maybe somewhat funny two years ago when the old posters (who had better imagination and sense of humour and who do not visit anymore) started that "imaginary life". Now it's just so tired and boring.
I don't really know this site, it seems another gossip one but she had an interview with TH and EO
Oh, that still makes me laugh, mainly because I think it's a sly way of commenting on the general nonsense and conspiracy theories some people over there spout.
>>421 >>424 I seem to remember it all starting with the Tom Hiddleston Jaguar commercial, where he puts a mysterious bag into the trunk of his car. People joked that it was Mark Strong in the bag, since he was the other "villain" in the first commercial. Then Strong was hiding in the trunk, somehow Colin Firth ended up in there, and now two years later we have a whole harem of male actors serving brunch and mimosas. Which, yes, is probably more realistic than a lot of what gets posted in the actual articles on CB lately. ;)
It's refreshing to see people with a sense of humour, because some of the over-invested fans over there scare me a bit!
OK, is it my imagination, or does their comments in this really make it sound like they've been reading celebitchy comments and going 'whaaaat?'
>>427 Now CB are debating EO's relationship with her director.. poor girl.
For whatever it's worth though, it sounds like both parties are denying anything other than dinner on that pap night.
Don't get me started (again) on Celebitchy. Seems like for every individual covered there is nowsome queen bitch telling everybody what the party line is. What has happened to the TH threads? When I first discovered TH I read back some of the more commented upon articles and they were hilarious: very affectionate but they also saw the funny side of his foibles. Nowadays if someone expresses any view no matter how anodyne some loon will leap on it disagreeing and flog it to death. I personally think all this crap about verandas is no more than a way to police views expressed on the board (if you're not in my gang etc). It's not so much mimosas for everyone as disagree with me and I will chuck you into my crocodile infested bayou.
Much more importantly, why has a film featuring both Luke Evans and TH cavorting naked, with bonus Jeremy Irons and James Purefoy, not acquired a UK distributor?
>>427 thank you.

>>428 As I wrote, I admit being a bit puzzled by the holding hands - especially when I remember that EO is 26 years old, 1 year older than Emma Watson - I found it odd in that occasion, and it's true that Abraham was married when ISTL filming started and he isn't anymore, and by what he said during ISTL press conference it was a costly divorce. And look at thewrap video, EO and Abraham have some interesting body language.
>>438 "New life sized Tom Hiddleston shaped toy! Guaranteed to vibrate with excitement! Multi purpose."
High Rise reviews both good - spoiler alert for both, but the first is funny.
High Rise review: The Guardian
From what I read of HR's script so far, from what I read of the Q&A and what they said at the press conference, I think the Guardian's review is the most accurate.
THR and Variety reviews of High Rise, bad ones, worse than the Guardian's. Variety doesn't even have praise for TH.
Interview with Tom about High-Rise:
(One minor spoiler)
Tom is now in New York hanging out with Rodney Crowell.
video of that interview with Layne
>>451 Yes, I think you're right. I saw another tweet earlier from a reporter who said they were going to be doing an interview with Guillermo del Toro and some CP cast in NYC tomorrow, so it's nice for Tom that Rodney happened to be in town at the same time. They both look so happy in the photo.
Isn't it funny that the one film not ta festivals has interviews?

This is a very interesting article about Legendary Universal and Skull Island
While here it's about problems regarding CP, which may explain the absence from festivals and all these prescreenings.
"Now that Legendary has moved Kong, that settles a brewing argument over the script's references to Monarch, the secret government entity in Godzilla that employed the characters played by Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins. Obviously, the inclusion of Monarch in Kong is a move to tie the ape into a hoped-for Godzilla "universe."

I'm not sure if it refers to what I posted at >>473 or something else.
>>475 I think it does as the link says "The Journal" at the top. Notice they have put him in what is described as a "grandad shirt"...!! Playing to his known proclivities, I'd say.
>>476 haha now you have to explain to me the difference between a grandad shirt and a normal one!
TOM HIDDLESTON - Cowboy Hats and Selfies - TIFF 2015
Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen on the TIFF red carpet of ‘I Saw The Light’
>>477 it is a shirt that looks like one your grandad would wear. Apparently over at Mr Porter this is a selling point!
Here's Tom in a grandad cardigan:
And another one (he has a lot of these): http://tomismonochromaticallyfabulous.tumblr.com/post/79184786873/holy-shitting-cow-look-at-this-cardigan-it-seems
This is funny, where I live these cardigans would never be considered that way, but actually very elegant in a csual way, while the grandad shirts would just be considered badly cut and cheap, no grandad would ever wear a shirt like that.
And this, though doubtless Ralph Lauren and very expensive, is a grandad jumper. It has a high round neck and a big cable knit pattern. He looks very cute in it but that's him and not the jumper. I am sure my dad (in his 70s) has a jumper like this (not from Ralph Lauren): http://m.weibo.cn/page/tpl?containerid=1005051846858632_-_WEIBO_SECOND_PROFILE_WEIBO&itemid=&title=全部微博#showPic
>>482 With all the effort he put in having new stuff to wear - I wonder, if all of his new wardrobe for TIFF was offered by RL how many of those he is going to keep?
Quite a few of his clothes seem to be stolen from photo shoots or given to him (the boots, the Loki scarf). He only seems to know one shop - the one that sells V neck t shirts. I imagine he will keep them so he doesn't need to shop for the next 5 years!
>>484 true, if you need a V neck tshirt TH is your man.
>>483 I assume Tom will keep the new clothes. He's been given suits for premieres before. Armani or some designer stitched a tag w/ some 'expressly made for Tom Hiddleston' thing in the suit given to Tom for the War Horse premiere. What's weird is, female actresses don't get to keep the premiere clothes they're given, but male actors do. LOL, what's up w/ that?!?
>>486 The suits I have no doubt I was mostly wondering about the casual outifts - Probably because nobody gives men grief for wearing the same suits to multiple RCs while women must always look different, for some obscure reason.
>>486 maybe because women's RC outfits are so expensive relatively speaking.
I get that actors get more red carpet mileage out of 1 suit than actresses get out of 1 dress, but still seems like actresses are shafted. Their rc dresses are sample sizes (another reason why they starve themselves, so they can fit into sample sizes). For actors, their rc suits are custom made, cost a fortune & are just given to them. Actors aren't shamed into forcing themselves to be model thin, it'd be nice if actresses weren't either. But to get back on track, I like how Tom looked at TIFF, even tho he could repeat some of theses suits at future red carpets, I hope he gets a few new ones & tries some different rc looks.
>>489 maybe actresses should just change the game for themselves.

Vanity Fair - Tom Hiddleston Explains How He Learned to Loosen Up and Yodel - I Saw the Light - TIFF 2015
This is an interview with James Ivory from the NY (sometimes CB is useful) at some point he confirms that his next project is RIchard II with TH
(this is a bit OT but I found it mentioned at CB and it's a photo of EO walking, on her left is TH but on her right she is arm in arm with Abraham, the instagram poster confirms it in the comments. https://instagram.com/p/7vJcHdHVrJ/
>>500 He says he is "working on" - this one I think has been in the pipeline for a loooong time. Not sure TH has ever even mentioned it. I think I mean even JI may not be immune to voicing celebrity casting aspirations.
>>502 Actually I thought the project was dead so I was a bit surprised he mentioned it again.
>>503 I'd heard that. Perhaps it is hard at his age to admit he is basically retired.
>>501 Don't tell the bicycle. After a comment on here from anonsy I took a look last night and she is in terminal meltdown, screaming and calling everyone nannies for believing EO! Her reaction when TH also confirmed it was hilarious. Her latest theory is it's an elaborate cover up and that a cumberbaby equivalent cannot be far away.
"We're bringing you an exclusive audio commentary featuring @josierourke & @twhiddleston for #Coriolanus @ntlive..."
"Tom Hiddleston Gives You His Blessing to Have an Orgy, Talks Hank Williams and High-Rise"
I haven't followed the q&a for CP, here's a photo before it started
well, Torrilla has all of them and it was boring.
>>510 Too right they were. I felt like asking why is the latest "teaser" revelatory of the minuscule amount of plot previously remaining secret?
BTW I think we may have had a visit or two from some of the celebitches. They were talking rather defensively today about how much they love sitting on their verandah. Strange coincidence, huh?
>>495 I fear that with one of his idols so close (RDN), TH may be in danger of letting his nerves get the best of him.
I just don't want him to do something titish! And, God, please, no dancing. No dancing, and no singing.
>>512 Don't think so, in one of the numerous TH's threads of this week a few people posted against that so it's probably about those posters. Tbh, I think it's very rude to do so, it's one thing to write elsewhere why you don't like CB anymore, one another to go there.
>>513 I hope not mainly because it would look old? But I don't know this show, is it humorous like the Chatty Man? Because I guess that the host might comment on him dancing in High Rise and asking him to perform, and then what can he do?
Crimson Peak Interview - Tom Hiddleston
Tom Hiddleston talks Loki in the Marvel movies and King Kong: Skull Island!
>>515 Graham Norton is fun and anarchic (though unlike Chatty Man he does not completely set my teeth on edge). I would say dancing is likely.
>>514 I would never go on CB and tell those particular posters what I think. As I think qaz said on a previous thread, everyone comes to the fandom in their own way. On the other hand, it swamps every thread because it is brought up as a response to every comment seemingly. It seems reasonable enough to point that out and say "a bit less please." As I write this I marvel at my naivety expecting people on the Internet to behave in a moderate way!!
>>517 if Norton is like that, it's a good thing we don't have a HR trailer yet, imagine all the gifs on tumblr about his sex scenes and if he were asked about them.
>>495 Oh, finally, I like this show a lot, the host is great (in my opinion), he somehow manages to make his guests relaxed and entertaining, and I was wondering mildly why TH was never on it. I've even seen some musings from other people that maybe GN didn't like him personally, or smth. But probably just because the projects where he was in the lead weren't considered big enough, and huge franchises, like Marvel movies, had other bigger names in them who were invited to promote on the GN.
>>515 I watched the very first GN shows when I was living in London. Mostly, he made fun of the audience, asking them to share stories and pics. I think he still does. I like the show.
However, some of the stuff he does with stars can be cringe-tastic. I remember him sharing fan fiction stories with D Radcliffe. I think he read the summaries of some of the crazier ones. He also likes to share fan art like Chatty Man did.
>>520 I hope so and it's not really about being old and stuffy, simply it'd be a pity for his upcoming films to be reduced to sex scenes and what his fans do on tumblr.
>>520 Oh yeah, he likes to do that. That's the only thing about the show that I have a slight beef with. Well, the most of TH-related fanfiction probably involves Loki, and he's promoting entirely different movies now (I guess apart from multiple gifs there's not so many fanfics or fanart of those already?), so let's hope GN won't bring it up. Although with him you never know.
>>521 Please, God, do NOT let GN bring up his tag. Hopefully, Luke will put the kibosh on that sort of thing. Time to disassociate himself with Tumblr.
Speaking of the publicist that must not be named. This is from a TIFF best and worst list. It came under the 'weird' category.
'Even Tom Hiddleston’s unflappable personal publicist, Luke Windsor, has his own rabid fan following, including Tumblr tribute sites and hashtags. Celebrity has come to this.'
>>524 Not long after I became interested in TH and was reading various and lots of stuff on Tumblr, I've seen a couple of blogs dedicated to LW. Some fans were saying that they even tried to get his autograph (SMH). He declined, though, so I give him props for that.
>>524 I wonder if he has fans because it's a sneaky way to get closer to TH, or people are just too stupid to know better. But of course fans started a fan account on fb I think for TH's security person/driver.
The Graham Norton show has changed a lot since the very early days - you still get the odd silly skit, and the odd embarassing website about one of the celeb guests, but not so much anymore, and generally on people's 2nd or 3rd appearance when they're running out of good stories.
If anything I feel as GN has become more of a celebrity in his own right, he talks too much. So less time for shenanigans of any kind. I am surprised they put 3 big hitters together on one show. Maybe they too want to see TH struck dumb with admiration!
And now back to JA (kind of). She is a piece of work, that one. Meanwhile the nw3 has just gone silent - hasn't shut down or deleted, just stopped posting. Weird. I'd have thought she wouldn't be able to keep quiet the last week.
>>530 I can't remember if we discussed this or not, but there was a Twitter user, vinividi with some numbers at the end, who was tweeting screenshots of nw3's blog posts to Luke Windsor and Tom. Nw3 said it didn't bother her but stopped posting shortly after vinividi started, so I assumed it at least scared her a little and maybe made her take a break from the blog. Also around the same time a couple of names got thrown out on Town Bike of who nw3 anon could be, and maybe nw3 quit posting because one of them was right.
>>531 I don't recall we did. The cessation was quite recent before TIFF as far as I can see. After the drama of shutdown 1 it is odd she has just stopped without deleting anything. Also this time around she was much more careful, not posting any actual gossip, just as far as I could see mutual abuse between fans!
Schedule for High Rise at San Sebastina Film Festival
Tom Hiddleston and Josie Rourke create Coriolanus audio commentary
>>533 No no I meant that the link showed that the bicycle can't let her JA conspiracy theories alone! Not you!
And that the bicycle was a piece of work.
Her aunt?!!! Curiouser and curiouser. I always thought that her profile was more akin to some of the CB commenters, a middle aged woman. with probably an admin job at a theatre that allowed her to say with some truth she was in that world. If she is worried about her aunt telling her off then she is more likely to be a 19 year old Tumblr girl like all the rest.
I'm not sure why this is considered unusual - actors don't normally have any contact with the people doing the music on their movies, so he may not have ever met the guy before. With so many of his friends and castmates there it would have been weird if he had been getting pally with Clint Marshall.
>>539 TH and Mansell know each other and follow each other on twitter, Mansell's agent is JA and Mansell was RT things related to TH before BoraBora. That's what the bycycle's poster was hinting at.
I find so unusual that the SanSebastianFF would release to the public the time TH and the rest will arrive at their hotel today. Is the check-in part of the festival?
Yes, I'm quite a regular London theatre-goer and I have to say she hardly ever posted anything about theatre itself, or that made me think she was in theatre circles and knew what she was talking about. Her general commenting audience didn't seem to know very much about London theatre, so her vague statements were accepted at face vlaue.
So we assume he knows the guy, at least slightly. They might just be acquaintances, though - following someone on Twitter does not mean much, Tom follows a lot of people he works with on Twitter and some random people he doesn't know (like most of us do).
>>544 For example the makeup lady on ISTL - I guess on the basis that if they are in the industry they won't be too mad. Even if he doesn't as far as we know interact with them again he doesn't tend to unfollow. Again not surprising as once you have a big list of stuff you're following going through and deleting is a hassle. I agree - I don't read anything into him having followed CM.
>>543 My secret shame is that I had no idea who he was up to and including watching him in Coriolanus, despite going to the theatre a lot. I realised later that I had seen him in Ivanov and Othello - but hadn't watched Thor/Avengers etc as it wasn't my thing, and didn't bother with the Hollow Crown because I had fairly recently seen an amazing production at the RSC and I thought the telly version would just bug me. So I never really realised he had gone onto bigger things especially as he had been out of the theatre world for a long time since Ivanov. Then a friend said she had front row tickets for Coriolanus and I said "oh ok sounds nice. Who's that bloke?" She said later she thought I sounded most ungrateful!
Well, since it's always better to see for yourself, here's the High Rise q&a video that somehow I didn't post. Mansell is the one in green.
Mansell is just in the intro in this video, he wasn't actually there for the q&a, although there is an extra chair. If the bycycle poster was basing their post on just this, meh.
Happy Sunday indeed. Man too beautiful. Cheekbones too sharp. Even ear sexy someway is.
Video of Eddie Redmayne and TH hugging
>>549 Anon. that photo is so good it's a crime to see it in instagram format alone
>>548 It's not just meh! It could be JA masquerading as CM.
Think about it! TH knows professional make-up artists. What better way to hide his secret wife than by having her changed into CM with the use of prosthetics.
>>551 Torrilla will come through for us. All we need to do is be patient.
>>553 She already did, it's the link I posted ;)
>>554 Does that girl not sleep? Or eat? To our benefit, of course, but geez.
This gif is from the VF interview. The moment comes right after he's confirmed that he sings all the songs himself.
So, neither ISTL in Special Presentation nor High Rise in Platform won at TIFF. Hardly surprising, especially for the first.
Where are our check in photos though? TH with his washbag and Luke trying to score an upgrade. "Tom I know I am only your agent, and I know I look 12, but can I please have a room with a double bed this time? Please?"
>>551 have they airbrushed his laughter lines and forehead?
>>560 If you look at some of the other photos on his IG, I think it's safe to say that there is some photoshopping. Very rarely is there no tinkering at all with photos. But his is minimal.
Article from the Calgary Herald about ISTL
An interesting quote from Marc Abraham about the TH/EO tabloid gossip stories:
>>563 that TH wasn't too happy was clear at PPG, but I wonder, the first article about them was in May, so they talked about it at TIFF?
>>564 Either that or Tom called Marc Abraham and said "Hey man, stop calling in phony stories about my love life to Us Magazine."
>>566 Paparazzi Purse Gate? Purseface Paparazzi Gate? Something like that, I think.
Both articles and the real crazy pap stuff has happened before TIFF so it doesn't surprise me if they talked. I can't imagine he spoke to Abrahams earlier.
Yeah it's the initial "one day when someone was writing about it" that I don't get. One day? This interview was probably given at TIFF or soon after that, Abraham wording makes it sound like this happened while they were filming.
I think he meant just general one day which could be either May article or July catastrophe.

"I play a former soldier who is contracted to go to Skull Island for a particular reason, but I am no longer officially a military officer. He’s the protagonist, so I’m not playing the villain, and I’m not playing the antihero. You see the story through his eyes, which is nice."
Can anyone help me how to download the Coriolanus commentary? Supposedly on iTunes but not showing up on any search!
>>593 I just downloaded the app, tried to purchase the program, and it's giving me a message that says "no purchase options available." Not sure if it's something to do with my location, but I can't get it. :(
I haven't downloaded or purchased, but apparently, you must have at least iOS 8 to download the app. Also, if you've previously downloaded the NT app, you may need to update that app before the Corio. purchase will show/download.
John Goodman has joined the cast of Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island
Tom Hiddleston Talks ‘High Rise’, ‘I Saw the Light’, and Future Projects at TIFF 2015
I was one of the people complaining on Twitter about this! Yes, you need ios 8, I couldn't find a way to get hold of it without it. I was hoping that someone would manage to rip the commentary and make it available online, I can't find anyone who has done so yet. It's very frustrating because all the press made it sound like you just needed iTunes.
>>598 not to mention that considering the amount of people that have android based smartphones, making it available only for iphones is very stupid.
"“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” star Thomas Mann is in final negotiations to join the cast of Legendary and Warner Bros.’ King Kong prequel “Kong: Skull Island.”
I thought the followings about South Sudan was for something he will do, instead it was for something he already did.
"UNICEF UK high profile supporter Tom Hiddleston looks out of a window in an helicopter heading to Nyanapol Boma, Jonglei State, South Sudan."
So GN has taped. Doesn't sound too bad. Fingers crossed that there's no
>>601 In a recent Vanity Fair Espana article, he mentioned being in a war zone in Africa. I'm sure there will be some sort of UN campaign regarding this trip soon.
I don't want to sound cynical, but the timing is interesting: trip in March, but campaign comes out much later in the year...say, just around the time his movies premiere, award campaigns start...maybe it's the UN's timing, not his.
Lol .. but it is probably a mutually beneficial relationship: Hiddleston has movies to promote .. the UN have a S Sudanese emergency to raise funds for plus the release of yet another set of prettily sloganed "goals" that most likely will not be reached and just replaced by another lot in a few years.
urgh.. I also see that the photos are now on tumblr without any context, though I suspect that there are busloads of fangirls madly googling "Jonglei" :\
Luke just out-pr-red the UN..
From the UN newsletter .. March 6.
An ongoing UNICEF field visit and project
assessments is being supported by UNHAS.
And this now makes sense... Italy? Nah..
>>604 the one interview I haven't read!
"Tom Hiddleston discussed 'Hiddlestoners' and 'Hiddleboners' (he says has yet to put it out there no pun intended 😏) #GrahamNorton"
UN and UNICEF are not the same thing - global goals I think is a UN initiative and the trip to Sudan was separate through UNICEF.
The latter organisation did mention the trip to S Sudan in March it seems, and when TH went to Guinea they didn't hold details of that trip back for 6 months IIRC. It would be a weird thing to do if they needed to fundraise straight away in March - and would they really let TH manipulate them and the news cycle to that extent? In fairness to TH the person who revealed more was the photographer who may have seen a retail opportunity for his pics because TH is in the news.
I should have said, I mean, I know they are from the same origin in the 40s but UNICEF works and publicises itself separately from the UN so support for one doesn't necessarily imply working with or supporting the other. I think Angelina Jolie is a UN special ambassador or something but not really involved in UNICEF.
>>611 Yep, they are 2 different things especially in the results they obtain. Besides, the UN video is a video with many celebrities, not just him, and like TH says in the VF interview he was invited, trips to war zones aren't organized to fit film promotion.
"Has the ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Plot Been Revealed?"
>>614 That sounds shite. Group of adventurers arrive on island on one or or another flimsy pretext (who really cares what) and end up doing battle with - surprise! - creature that lives there which isn't at home to visitors, even if one of them is TH wearing hot Indiana Jones style explorer gear. Disappointingly generic in my view. Why does TH think this is a new and exciting treatment? Obviously he has read the script (or one of the many versions) but I wait to be convinced on the advisability of this project.
>>615 Maybe TH means it's great because of his character? Like when he kept saying the script for ISTL was great and Abraham was great but in reality script and direction were panned and what was great was his performance. Of course, Jurassic World was bland too and had great success, so let's hope the film is enjoyable and it doesn't bomb.
>>616 I did think of ISTL - another project suggesting his instincts aren't 100% strong. I think that whatever he says he may be guilty of chasing both Oscar and commercial success instead of doing what others say is the best way to achieve those things, namely choosing the best projects and letting critical and commercial success take care of itself.
>>611 The UN and UNICEF are - for all intents and purposes - the same organization. UNICEF's parent organization is the UN - the general assembly votes on and oversees UNICEF protocol and campaigns. It is part of the UN's common system. UNICEF does not work independently of the UN.
All international organizations that cross borders - except for the CIA and similar ones - must details the movements of their employees and operatives in an organizational circular.
>>617 But as far as he was concerned, his instincts were right. The role was challenging but he did great and received great reviews from important critics, all in all it was a win for him, even if the film is a fiasco. HR didn't do so great either with critics that count, but here too it's on the director.
To me what looks iffy about Skull is the director, the number of script-writers they changed so far and the fact that Universal didn't stick with the project.
They are also equally alike in that both use celebrities to promote their policies. And celebrities use BOTH to promote themselves.
As for results, both are similar as well. For the time, effort and money poured into the UN and UNICEF - their results amount to nearly jack all.
>>614 We can disagree on UN/UNICEF policy and TH's PR - but we can all gather around the fire over this one.
Shite. And double shite.
>>621 About Dicaprio you forgot the renting of a yacht to go back and forth for the world champion of football in Brazil. But let's save the seas, sure.
Anyway, I think what Anon meant was that while UNICEF is part of the UN, and while I'm sure UNICEF from some countries make use of celebs for PR, UNICEF does practical work on the ground that actually achieves something, while the UN have Shakira concerts and useless meetings on how to better ignore international crisis.
In that VF Spain interview he also say he will soon talk about this trip to South Sudan (unless my scarce Spanish failed me)
>>625 Not ironic AT ALL - she screams. We get shit done at NATO!! Keeping the Ruskies from the gates for over 60 years - thank you very much.
In all seriousness, NATO has disaster relief missions, logistical support missions in non-member states and crisis management missions...just like the UN.
I think you're right regarding his instincts regarding the overall challenge of the ISTL role and the stretch it would give to his talents.
>>624 I have such distaste for LdC. From his desperate Oscar bait-ness to his insistence on using the Victoria's Secret universe as a mail order catalogue for girlfriends - younger and younger, blonder and blonder girlfriends.
>>627 As someone who lives in a country that is member of NATO, that's the side I respect.
I am aware that there is a relationship of mutual back scratching without which most charities would get much less support from celebs. I still find it implausible however that he could fly to S Sudan in March and insist that this was not publicised until it coincided with his publicity for ISTL etc. If the UN wouldn't give Clooney the speaking gig he wanted then it isn't a total pushover is it? Clooney is a bigger star and for several years donated his Nespresso fees to monitoring the human rights situation in Sudan. TH has no profile like that to speak of and is nowhere near as big a star. I imagine it has something to do with the I agree totally pointless and narcissistic global goals - which can't possibly have been engineered by Luke to coincide with this month as they involve so many people. Also fundamentally Luke is a shit publicist. Does he really have the wit to do this? And even if he did does TH really strike one as such a calculating and conniving arsehole that he would say "yeah I'll go to Sudan but only if you release a licky press release just when I am pushing for an Oscaaaaar." I don't believe that of him - yet.
>>631 That is exactly the sort of agreements that are made with these partnerships. LdC made his speech in late September of 2013. It coincided with the start of his award campaign for TWOWS and DjUc. He joined IG on the same day. It was covered by broad and tabloid sheets. The Wall Street Journal was one of several big outlets that made mention of the opportune timing.
eh .. UN anon here... to clarify: UNICEF (like the WFP, UNHCR and a whle lot of agencies) are, at the end of the day, entities / part of the UN.
I think that we need some sort of forum like the UN but I think years of working, have led me to be a tiny bit cynical about the trumpet blowing that all of the agencies do. UNICEF is actually one of the more productive UN agencies on the ground tbh.
>>631 The thing with Luke is that he seems to have only two default modes for publicity: society and humanitarian.
With people like Douglas Booth and Gemma Chan, it's been society - those two will show up to the opening of an envelope. Parties and catwalks - they'll be there. And their pics will end up in the DM.
>>634 But he's pretty much finished with the press junket as he is about to vanish into filming ShitMovie, and he mentioned it once, and not directly. He has hardly been saving it up so he can yap about it during the last month.
I dont thinkt that they have talked about anything to do with the trip ... from the sounds of it, Couch Potato found the photographs online by accident. The mention in the internal UNiCEF circular had the depth of a page 6 byline.
Knowing that NATO employees are so well-versed in celebrity gossip and have so much free time on their hands certainly makes me believe in bright future of this organization!
I'm obviously not on the diplomatic scale! I work for the organization - but not even in Brussels (more's the pity! - I love me some waffles and moules et frites!).
>>639 Yes we are.
NATOAnon, UNAnon - it's horribly reminiscent of nw3anon, save only that her friends were laughably low powered by comparison (coffeeanon etc).
I think that this needs it's own thread :) .... I think that I am cynical wrt the yet another bleedin' slogan side of UNICE/UN and the fact that often, there is so much pressure for someone.. anyone to reach these goals that the details are sometimes fudged.
>>642 Don't mind me. I have an ironic turn of phrase, sharpened by the fact that I have been working this weekend. We can call it PossiblyShitMovie to keep our options open!
Hey, CouchPotato (the blue and original one) didn't find that by accident, but on Torrilla! That's very high profile! ;)
ShitMovie, lol poor Kong
"What Happens When Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak Plays The World's Best Genre Film Festival?"
>>645 I stand by my prediction. A thousand (!!) or more posts ago before Pursegategate I said I had a bad feeling about ISTL being a well meaning pile of poo and to judge by the reviews I was not wrong.
Yes, but what ISTL is missing is a giant CGI monkey!!
How about Kong: Ape Shit? Or Shit Island?
In really important news - NATO, UN, world poverty, pfffft - the release dates for HR are worryingly far away. Important news - read: nearly nude sunbathing scene.
Besides for FFs, France is listed at 2016, Germany as September...2016, on IMDB. I've seen March 2016 for the UK - but unconfirmed. Nothing, of course, for the US.
>>649 I love the pun, but somehow Shit Island wins it for me.
Okay, I downloaded the NT Corio. commentary. The app itself has some interesting BTS photos (most already seen) and some short essays about various aspects of the play. There are also a few video interviews - many already seen too.
I'm going to listen to the commentary. I'll let you guys know what I think tmr.
He's in Rome, wasn't there a red carpet to attend in Paris today?
Jardin de Russie, photos at Torilla's.
>>657 That would have been original, but no this was photocall and interviews, just a presentation of the film to the press. As I said TH and MW are going to be in Paris this evening for CP's early première in France.
"Tom "Loki" Hiddleston, gentleman and charming antihero"
"I met @twhiddleston in Rome and he was lovely ❤ "
I've just read that there's an embargo on the press about CP, nobody can post reviews until Oct. 14th.

>>661 Legendary seems to be playing their cards close to their chests with this one.
Not showing it at any festivals - except for the surprise showing at Fantastic Fest (I think) - and now putting an embargo on reviews.
Some nice pics from ISTL. The white ensemble is fairly atrocious!
Corio. Audio Commentary:
It was good - not great. I think HF and PDJ stole the show as far as commentary went - they had plenty of funny and insightful moments. TH and DF were alright, but - say it with me - nothing to write home about. JR has got it going on! She's bright, thoughtful, funny and confident.
>>666 I know. My eyes, my eyes. Also the musical notes ensemble was a shocker. This involves much more suffering than losing shed loads of weight.
>>667 My husband has a PhD in ancient history, also from Cambridge, and has been learning Latin since he was 5. He is currently sitting at our kitchen table surrounded by Latin texts writing an article for a journal. He couldn't translate it either without some thought. What's that about?
And ah, Peter de Jersey. Saw him in Sejanus at the RSC some years ago now. He played Macro. He was terrific - and I met him in the pub afterwards and he was great - smart and funny and very cute! Happy days....
>>669 I have a BA in Classics - my MA is in Government with an emphasis on International Relations, however, I did graduate work in Classics when I could.
Annona is just one of those obscure Latin words that you don't run across a lot. It means 'share' or 'portion' - so that 'annona plebis' would be 'the share of the plebians.' It's referring to their grain share - or corn dole, as you Brits would call it.
>>670 The only laugh-out-loud moment in the commentary - for me, at least - comes courtesy of him and JR. It's hilarious. He is a cutie.
That is interesting. My hubby translated it as "corn portion". I could see it was not a literal translation but it sounds as though he was bang on in terms of its actual meaning.
MTV Italy with some good pics of TH and MW from Roma.
video of the RC last night
So this is the interview that CB used for their latest post about TH.
To be honest I'm a doubtful about this interview, it sounds a bit superficial. (does this mean JA wasn't decent and kind? And note that the website starts by saying TH is dating EO)
Avant-première - Crimson Peak - Paris - UGC Bercy - 28/09/2015
Crimson Peak : Rencontre avec Guillermo Del Toro, Mia Wasikowska et Tom Hiddleston
At second 43
"When I asked for a hug, Tom Hiddleston answered me "well you have to take me to dinner first" I'M SO DONE, BEST DAY EVER ❤️❤️❤️"
I agree, though I suspect it was heavily edited and that TH actually said a hell of a lot more than we heard.
A few CP interviews:
TH No.1. The nasally laugh at 0:45 - what is that?
And how could I forget!
GdT - the man himself.

what's for today?
btw.. check out GdTs' tweets .. he is going bonkers tweeting :) Some very cool links and suggestions.
Still in Berlin, meeting the press.

>>686 I'm trying to stay away from all the photos, videos and interviews for CP because they are giving away too much, so I haven't checked GdT twitter yet for fear of spoilers. He won't last much tweeting, but good luck to him anyway :)
>>685 New jumper new jumper! It's blue again.
Do he and Mia shop at the same "geometric pattern and buttons in odd places" store as each other?
>>689 lol But I think it's a darker blue version of that sweatshirt he was wearing in the Unicef video at his house before going to Guinea, it has the same geometric pattern near his neck.

>>694 Are his trousers getting progressively tighter during this junket?
>>697 At this point his trousers can probably walk by themselves.
A tweet directed me to this tumblr page. THIS is the reason why tumblr is great...because they put together stuff like this. Yes, they can be obsessive, but look what comes of their obsession!
This gif set has it all: glasses, shrugging, smiling, glasses adjusting.
>>699 for a moment I thought it might be about a mob against the frenchie girl. Yes, nice series of gifs.
>>700 I was thinking just through the hip and leg - not even the crotch - that's always tight! Holla!
How good does Sir Ken look with a beard! Roaw. Looks like they had fun. I will still need someone to rate it out of 10 on the cringe scale before I watch it.
Oh, and look, a blue suit and legs open like a whore. Never change TH, never change.
And some more from tumblr via twitter.
>>704 I love Sir Ken avec beard but I prefer the more groomed Hamlet style beard on him. De Niro looks like a homeless persn who wandered in by mistake and GN thought "what the hell we'll interview him anyway"
>>706 TH struggling in top photo to keep legs together but the conda fights for air.
>>702 She is this 19, or 20, french girl that was doing a year of stage in London and TH followed her on twitter (that's how she got fans attention), because she was friend with someone who work at the Donmar theatre or with an American journalist (I truly don't remember). Every time TH starts following someone she does too - she tweeted to HR's assistant costume designer after TH followed her, telling her that they should be friend. If TH gets involved in something, she starts tweeting about it too. When she was in London for her stage, she was always going to G&W, the nw3 woman had a internet argument with her.
>>709 She's on the nuttier end of the fandom but fairly harmless. I think she hopes that if she bumps into him enough he might one day accidentally fall on top of her. She was hated with a passion by nw3 and her little coterie of flaming torch carriers.
>>710 yeah, I agree. But it probably wasn't wise, your PA following her as well, you know how the bycycle loves to claim the beanup story was true and that TH sleeps with his fans.
>>711 Ahhh.. and everyone's favourite defender of Tom's chastity is at it again .. 3-2-1.. L-e-x (already tweeting abuse at her) .
Hi! You tweet fast!! No need to be offensive though. "Eating shit' is not very classy.
the IMDb q&a is starting
everyone else: disregard above :) .. resume normal mode.
Done. You can ask for >713 and >716 (and this one) to be deleted too.
I have viewed the latest GdT "spot" (seemingly meaning mini-trailer). Talk about spoilers. Stay well away. Combined with what I have seen so far I could now pretty much write this movie.
>>718 I need a good reason to ask for that, neither posts qualify as spam or troll or something needing a mod intervention. Anyway, let's move on.
why are these q&a always so short?
Training for HR? :)
I am totally in love with this picture for some reason: http://m.weibo.cn/page/tpl?containerid=1005051846858632_-_WEIBO_SECOND_PROFILE_WEIBO&itemid=&title=全部微博#showPic
The hair, the dog, the glasses, Paul McGann. I just....
>>724 I think TH has found his 'I'm an eccentric, crazy old man' outfit AND companion. He could also carry Luke around like that.
The twitter Q&A pics. Someone's sending out invitations to the gun show in that shirt.
>>728 and yet he is still so cute and skinny. Exhibit A: guns of Hemsworth.
Here's the twitter Q&A questions and answers running from top to bottom.
>>726 yes, but you probably wasn't advertising it on the internet :) http://thetownbycycle.tumblr.com/post/130310246992/oh-really-question-how-would-this-friend-know-who
>>731 Not to show my age too much but when I was a teenager Twitter didn't exist. Thank god for having lived my idiocies in an unrecordable form.
Since it is Friday I am idly wondering how many of us there are on here...
Couch Potato (the original and best - accept no imitations)
qaz (haven't heard from you recently. Hope all is well)
>>734 You missed yep - who doesn't write too often anymore like nonny - anonsy and anon1.
The second set of photos of TH entering BBC Radio studio that torrilla posted are really good.
the preview for Graham Norton that torrilla uploaded doesn't work, at least for me, but I'm curious to know what prompted this expression
>>739 I was thinking about an impression of DeNiro but yours is better.
I swear I was joking but I guessed right
I remember wearing a Metallica t-shirt because the guy I liked was in love with the band. I wore that t-shirt once a week for half a school year! Cringe. My punishment for not being true to myself was that he then invited me out to a Metallica concert...and I had to sit through a Metallica concert! My ears still haven't recovered.
>>731 That first submission - where the poster says she has a forehead bigger than TH - oh god, how?
It made me think of the SNL character:
I stayed at the Plaza Athenee in NYC for a weekend (my banker ex-boyfriend paid for it as a birthday gift - I couldn't have afforded to breathe the air in that place!).
I don't know if the one in Paris is connected to the NYC one, however, if she did stay there, she's keen and well-heeled...my Metallica shirt only cost me 20 bucks!
>>745 I also suspect he wasn't 15 years older than you ;)
But really nobody with 2 brain cells would think along those lines, as I said it was about the opportunity of his PA also following her, exclusively because I knew how that would look like and how it could easily degenerate and potentially become another beanup-like story.
Torrilla has the Norton show up but I can't download it or watch it, BBC has the show up but it's UK only. If someone has a normal youtube link please post it.
found this one, I hope it's all of it
"Marvel Studios has found its director for the third Thor film, and it’s a bit of an unlikely choice. Per The Wrap, Flight of the Conchords director Taika Waititi is in negotiations to take the helm of Thor: Ragnarok."
>>751 Well I watched it. Old wine in new bottles I felt. The Owen Wilson impression. Heat (scene between RDN and Al Pacino). The Campaign for Moah Male Nudity in CP. TH had the grace to go a little pink at doing his impression of RDN in front of RDN. RDN was pretty monosyllabic, but good natured, gracious and slightly bewildered at having him and KB fangirling all over him. AH gave good value and came across as pretty norma. Overall as far as TH was concerned it was a superficial "greatest interview hits".
>>753 and a little more than pink when asked about his fans. I read they cut the bit where he was singing as Hank. But yes, it was a harmless funny interview.
>>754 They must have cut a Hank impression - I watched it on bbc I-player as broadcast and it wasn't included in the show.
When TH says "it's an expression of admiration, just to be clear" did his accent become more posh all of a sudden? Especially on the clear?
>>752 (shrugs shoulders) Okay then. This sounds like a good idea. Does he need an action, ensemble background to direct? Apparently not.
What could go wrong when a comedy direction with a few low budget indie films under his belt directs a big budget, big action blockbuster?
>>745 he was a senior and I a lowly freshman...so I stretched to 3 years. Scandal.
>>753 what would you give it on the cringe-meter? One being, I can watch this. And ten being, put it in the vault and don't look back.
>>757 So far the most harm with the Thor franchise came more from Perlmutter&co than the directors, he can't do worse than that.
>>759 To me it was funny, nothing new but funny all the same. The cringe was AH's impression, but not because of AH, it just wasn't good at all.
(credits to torrilla)
I can't decide if this is rehash from old interviews like I thought, or it's recent.
>>762 I don't want HELLO to do a half hour with TH, I want the full blown, through the peephole version of a HELLO interview. I want TH 'relaxing on his spacious bespoke leather settee.' I want him 'hiding away from the world in his luxurious footed bath, complete with bubbles.' I want him 'cooking organic quinoa and free range eggs in his modern kitchen.' Come on, HELLO.
>>760 How so? Marvel's frugality, script direction, comics v. movies, grand plan for all the franchises and tie-ins?
>>764 isn't that why Disney recently gave Feige sole control over Marvel's future films?
>>762 No I think you're right, I'm almost positive it was put together from previous interviews.
The HELLO article seems new to me. He mentions MA in one answer, saying that he said something to him 'the other day.'
"m.frankelBumped into the legend actor #tomhiddleston"
The bicycle woman tries hard to prove Elizabeth and Tom lied about not dating each other. I'm totally lost in her theories, and have no idea what they are trying to say there. Why is she so invested in that?
>>770 I didn't know whether to mention this, so glad you did. I think that she/he scored a little "coup" with the sneaky pic of the two in his neighbourhood (more so after it was leaked to a local rag of a paper). The crowing went on for awhile as her site had the "exclusive" or whatever.
I stumbled upon the TBC when I first got into the fandom. I read it for a while, then drifted away. I also found the teatime blog and read it for awhile before stopping.
>>771 well they try to prove that they are dating because of Hello article. And I noticed one poster says even something like " Tom confirmed he is dating Olsen in hello article, why did she denied it?!" I laughed hard at that because Toby readers are sometimes ... not the cleverest people with lack of understanding what they read, but that's how the rumor mill starts.
Nah. I say: four way love quadrant - Tom, Brie, Luke and King Kong .. aka "The love that dares not speak its name".
>>771 Yes this.
The Bycycle began life as a blog called antisusie devoted to writing pernicious and libellous stuff about his then girlfriend Susanna Fielding. It had distinct hints of the more mad stuff one sees about EO (calling her bitch, whore etc).
Then the writer abandoned that blog and moved to its current location in ?2013 about the time he was seen at Wimbledon with JA. No particular party line on her though TBC did have a "source" called "nw3anon" and debate has subsequently raged about whether this source and the later blogger were the same.
>>771 PS I love the definition of The Daily Mail as a "local rag of a paper". It's a national newspaper with a giant circulation! It is a rag I agree....
Americans seem to have a hard time getting their heads round this. The New Yorker, despite all its fact checkers, still persists in calling The Times "The London Times" which is neither its name nor an accurate description of its circulation.
>>768 my problem is that the whole article is in contradiction
"the other day with MA" means TIFF, but at TIFF they denied dating so why would Hello say he doesn't want to talk about it? And is a teenage mag as Hello even going to be at TIFF?
Then there's TH saying all his family lives in London, but all his family does NOT live in London, except for his little sister.
>>770 she doesn't like to be wrong. Her stance on things is the one that is most annoying to fans, and she changes it accordingly. If tomorrow we were all going to say yes he is dating EO we are so happy, she'll be hell bent to prove they are not. She did the same with JA or Sian or SF.
(with no intention of reopening the matter because ot me is closed, but since it was mentioned, EO is in Paris for fashion week ;) http://www.gettyimages.it/detail/fotografie-di-cronaca/actress-elizabeth-olsen-attends-the-christian-fotografie-di-cronaca/491001916 )
>>779 she was in Paris during the premiere too. What I'm saying is that they even didn't bother to see each other and she didn't even come premiere,,,
For me topic is closed. I was just interested what the bike woman wants.
>>781 I know I know, when I said mentioned I was referring to the bycycle's post, sorry for not being clear.
"#Tom Hiddleston# photographed by Jeff Vespa during the 2015 Toronto Film Festival on September 14, 2015"
I think it's a cut-and-shut job - they've mixed together some quotes from TIFF interviews with some older interview quotes to make it sound like they actually talked to him. It's quite common for these kind of magazines and websites to essentially cut-and-paste from other sources, as long as all the quotes are genuine and they make up some copy around it they can get away with it.
What's left of the calendar. Though I suppose he might attend CP's premiere in LA before Kong.
BFI London Film Festival: HR Oct. 9
>>777 yes you are right. The trouble is that the people who read Toby don't bother to check his interviews, they take her as the only source of news. I personally recognize the quotes from Elle interview and others as well. But now they say "they change the replies! THEO is still on! What 're they trying to do!" I'm just amazed that they can't accept the fact that sometimes tomato is a tomato and nothing more, and there is no conspiracy theory.
>>773 Nah - he'll do what he always does: fall in love with his director. The Kong director has already made him vibrate with excitement.
I don't know for certain, but I think TNY probably calls yours Times 'The London Times' so not to confuse it with The New York Times, which they often refer to as The Times...because, you know, NYC is THE most important city in the world, so there's clearly only one 'The Times.'
No one likes to be wrong, so that's certainly part of it. I also think that she may genuinely believe that they were/are together. Some people will take their denial at face value and move on. Some people will continue to wonder, and some will just flat out not believe them. People, like the TBC blogger will continue to fight their side no matter what - that's human nature. Some people believe that TH is gay, and even though he's said he isn't, and others have as well, they still refuse to think otherwise.
>>786 The real surprise would have been if they had noticed that it was old quotes mixed with some fake ones.
Of course chances are some noticed but went along with it for the "fun" of annoying his fans, the bycycle woman isn't the only one playing that game.
>>789 Genuine and the bycycle blog shouldn't exists int he same sentence :) It could also be a case of "we'll make this true but constantly repeating it is". It's what some fans were doing with JA, but in that case she decided against it. It's like when she insists TH and SF broke up in nov. 2011, it's not true, but everyone goes along with it.
>>776 I think the DM is rag-ish, but it has its own unique qualities. And while I'm American, I have some insight. I used to live in London during the early 2000s. I lived in Edgware and worked near Whitehall. Every morning I would pick up the DM, The Sun and the Guardian and read/skim them on the tube. The British suits in the office thought is was an amusing mix of news sources - didn't stop them from catching a free peek at Page 3.
>>791 Ohh, I totally forgot that some people still think JA is 'around.'
See, people will stick to opinion even in the face of a lot of evidence!
>>792 It's widely read - internationally as well now it has such a successful website. The reason I call it a rag is because it purports to report news but is frequently factually inaccurate, in a manner which leads me to think it is deliberate. There's about as much commitment to accuracy in the "news" as there is is in the celebrity stories, but it hides under this cloak of respectability which makes its inaccuracy (in my view) more pernicious because harder to spot.
>>788 Call it the UK Times then - but I think it is more that there is just no notion of a national newspaper in the U.S. Hardly surprising given the logistics of printing and delivering one paper throughout the country. Whereas the UK is so small that we can all stand together and read one copy of a broadsheet.
>>794 Oh, it is definitely anti-ferener (foreigner). And their current coverage of the refugee/immigration crisis does echo the general anti-Semitic talk of the paper in the 1930s. Strangely, it tends toward the pro-Israeli side on international issues.
>>794 I find the website so interesting! I often look at the US and UK tabs just to see how they are presenting stories to their different target audiences. Usually the tabs have different main stories. I've found that only royal stories tend to show up on both pages, but still the headlines will be different. There's A LOT of media analyst hours going into some of those decisions.
>>796 Weighing in ... The Daily Fail/Mail whatever is the flagship of the Murdoch press (together with the Sun).
Imagine Faux news on, printed on paper or online with a UK bent. Absolute tripe. The editorial team do not even bother to check for simple spelling errors before publishing (let alone factual accuracies). One example being the utter rubbish they printed about Tom's Oxford visit with EO (when the stalker photos were taken in London). Actually .. they published the bicycle's stalker photos - so - I take all things from that source with a mighty pillar of salt. The sentiments are: anti-Muslim anti-Polish (Pole being the most readily targeted pre-representatives of the scary "Europe". Pro UKIP / anti Europe and only marginally on the border of the stuff being sprouted by Radio Television Libre des Mille Collines (google it) imho.
The Mail isn't as Murdoch paper, its majority shareholder is Viscount Rothermere. It pretends to be high-brow compared to the Sun and the other tabloids, but their political views are quite similar - very right-wing (for the UK, which is not as right-wing generally as the US), conservative, and xenophobic.
Hey, nothing is as bad as Fox News - nothing. ;) And the DM isn't inciting genocide - yet...fingers crossed!
I don't go in for the whole 'oh, my ovaries' or 'he's trying to kill us' responses to his photos. But then I see photos like these and think, this bastard's trying to kill us. He is quite beautiful - American quite, not British quite!
>>801 We use "quite" in both senses ("somewhat" and "extraordinarily").

Good find! I had a look at the live auction site (raising money to maintain a film archive) .. some of the items .. oooff! Good if you have a spare couple of tens of thousands of pounds around:
>>804 Tom apparently has no clue how old he is - he mentions he's 32 (this was filmed in 2013), but he says he was 14 when Much Ado was in theaters in 1993, and says he was a certain age in another year (I can't recall it off the top of my head) that would have required him being born in 1980 rather than 1981. He has admitted to being terrible at math so I suppose that's probably it, but do you think he could have been born earlier than 1981? Fibbing about one's age isn't exactly unheard of in Hollywood.
>>811 no because the year of his birth is also listed on the Peerage website as 1981. I just think it's a matter of memory even more than bad math. Like when he told that story about surprising his gf in Paris and missing an audition, and everyone thought it was because he got the station wrong.
>>812 Ah I forgot about the peerage, thanks. I don't blame him for forgetting dates, he has so much other information stuffed in his brain.

>>832 That tux looks very tight and the jacket on the short side.
>>834 here it looks better
>>835 A bit better. Still pretty tight round the thighs. Do we think he treats himself to a new one for every red carpet or have we seen this one before?
>>836 I was wondering the same, if it might be the one he wore at the Evening Standard Awards, only now he isn't so thin, quite the opposite.
>>837 also what's with the "don't lose my bowtie" detail on the collar?

TH so hates cats. His expression in both the pics where the cat is on him is "get this furball away from me." The cat meanwhile is wearing the expression I would be wearing if I were sitting on his knee while he stroked my cheek.
>>852 Animal trainer technique is what it looks like.
Didn't he say during the TTDW press tour in China that he likes both but with the exception of one cat he is more of a dog person.
"Tom Hiddleston: ‘It’s impossible to go through life without experiencing its random cruelty’ "
Curious that Barnes didn't ask him about HR, he wrote the review for the Guardian. Too bad.
Anyone still in London - they released more High Rise tickets for this evening's screening... go the BFI site to book.
"Good morning. HIGH-RISE confirmed release date in the UK is 11th March with @StudioCanalUK"
"Edit to add: Tom did not make it down the red carpet in time to be interviewed, but I’m sure we wouldn’t have heard anything ground breaking anyway. I’m much more excited about the clip."
This obviously negates what was reported by that tumblr poster, he did make in time to be interview.
Eh.. so here is my High Rise impression - the film is def out there - very challenging source material and very very very dark humour. It now has a distribution date in the UK but it will 110% not appeal to the average family /Marvel devouring public (or probably most of the public, to that effect).
Lots of Tom bonking and actually everyone bonking plus a (for me) extremely disturbing scene with Sienna Miller. Tom, Sienna and especially Elisabeth Moss were amazing - I didn't even recognise Elisabeth in the first scene she was in (her accent was very good). The analogy to A Clockwork Orange (the film) is accurate to some extent, though with the sex and violence turned up to 11. I was actually rather glad when it finally ended.
oh .. also: Luke Evans was in turns hilarious, disturbing and sported an extremely 70s moustache (in the film) - major respect. It was also somewhat strange to see audience members done up tot the nines sitting next to people in jeans and t-shirts :)

Tom Hiddleston High-Rise London Film Festival Premiere Interview:
Tom Hiddleston has something important to say about cake,
Tom Hiddleston to appear on The View on October 14th, 2015. Via @ABCNetwork
Many critics have given the film high praise! Mark Kermode tweeted that he's firmly in the LOVE camp.
>>869 I doubt the journalist of the Guardian being British is dense about class system. Critics at TIFF come froma variety of countries.
The main critic moved to this film is based on a book and the film fails to represents the book, the book isn't a funny satire, at all. That's why I was asking specifically about that.
I hadn't read the book before (and not sure that I am in the right frame of mind to read it now that I have seen the film), so I just saw the movie as a member of the non-Ballard reading class (though I did love "Crash" in it's own demented way).
Is it JA with his sister?
>>872 No, that woman's face in one of the photos on Torrilla and it's not Jane. I thought the same thing when I saw the ombré hair.
I thought it was. One on the left I think looks nothing like JA.
>>871 thanks I will watch the film and see for myself, my curiosity as I said is whether or not the film managed to portray the essence of Ballard's book.
“High rise is awesome. Bumped into Hiddleston and his mum outside. Got into car. Jenny then ran into Luke. Awesome.”
why looking t a small twitter pic when torilla has a larger one?
>>875 the woman on the right has a purse that isn't really suitable for a film gala premiere, JA cut his hair shorter with no ombrè hair at the end of last year, the bycycle has a photo, maybe we even posted it in thread2.
Here you can see her again, always from the back
I'd go with staff.
BFI London Film Festival 2015 High-Rise Q&A
>>880 Yeah, even though JA was there (http://iconosquare.com/viewer.php#/detail/1092224818217977843_374064), that's not her.
So Emma is the woman on the left? I wouldn't have recognized her. Anyway, it's great that his mum and sister were there.
>>882 I can't see the photo!
Yes I had no doubt she was, since Mansell was, but I somehow doubt it there was interaction, especially with Th's family around. I can't say if that it's his sister or not, she might be.
Woman from the back, now from the side, just to put it to rest.
>>883 I hope this one works :
Mansell was not there, but I agree
>>885 thanks. I thought he was because he was tweeting to much yesterday, thanking people et al.
"Tom Hiddleston just shook my hand. WHAT IS HAPPENING."
"At the Barbican to see Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch. Excited!"
Tom Hiddleston: Real love is when you accept someone for who they really are
So this is the person who took the first photo we were talking about and she says it's Emma
"At the risk of sounding like a broken record: Tom does look better in person than on photos. He’s very tall, very slender (without being thin), has a really slim face (somehow I’m always struck by this fact), and his smile is just radiant. There were lots of autograph hounds where we were standing, and they all stuck their big glossy pictures in his face…and then there was me with my Coriolanus play text. When he saw that, he looked up at me, beamed like a lit christmas tree and said “Wow!” at which point my brain flatlined and all I could stammer was a thank you. Emma was there, and she and Luke greeted each other with the longest hug. It was so bloody sweet. Diana was also there, as were Olly and Faisal. There was another big hug for Luke when Tom arrived. And I mean a BIG hug. I loved seeing that. Luke looks really gorgeous himself, by the way. Tom was the last to arrive and things went a bit nuts when he got out of the car. There could be no doubt whatsoever who was the star of the evening. He wore his glasses during the Q&A, but you’ve already seen that of course. I filmed the whole thing, by the way, but I think it’s already up on You Tube anyway. LOL Sienna Miller is totally smitten with Tom. She was awfully touchy-feely during the Q&A, hanging onto Tom’s arm all the time. Tom wasn’t really responsive to this, which I found interesting. She was lovely, though. Funny, self-deprecating, obviously really happy to be a part of this. Ben was cheeky as always. There was applause as the end credits rolled. Oh yeah, and I loved the film."
>>889 Is there anyone from here on tumblr? I have wondered from time to time as sometimes we (mostly you!) find stuff before it appears there. Disclosure: I have a tumblr account but I don't post. Only have it because you can't use the app without one.
>>891 no I don't have tumblr, I just check a few twitter accounts, torrilla, CB and when I have time and patience (like last night) tumblr.
Mind, mine wasn't a critic to people posting on multiple places, I just realized that when we talk about fans writing and discussing TH, we are probably referring to the same small group of people.
"Sexy BOGO: Came to see Benedict, and Tom Hiddleston is two rows up from us!"
>>892 No I didn't mean to criticise either. I just hadn't spotted any crossover of names between here and there. Here and CB yes.
We have said before how small the active fandom is on here and elsewhere.
>>894 In CB too? I've never noticed, but then I never read usernames or comments much, just look for links :)
It was just one user here and on tumblr, but I truly didn't expect so many crossovers on different socialnetworks or boards, so much smaller than I thought.
I've got a tumblr account but I don't post.
Buff Tom at Hamlet:
I'm on tumblr but I avoid anything to do with Tom on there now - there's too much mean-spirited drama and wild gossip in the Tom Hiddleston tag and on the fan blogs and it stresses me out. I check Twitter if something interesting seems to be going on, but mostly I just hang around here and Torrilla for my Hiddleston fix. :)
>>896 That is cute, and you can tell she is new to the medium. So I also feel like wishing her good luck, I have a feeling she'll need it.
>>897 Yes tumblr is stressful, my way is finding a blog where fans sends anon posts of sightings, although it implies skimming through plenty useless stuff. Right now it's the teatime blog.
>>897 There are a few nice blogs. From hiddles with love is one and there is also cheers Mr Hiddleston and enchanted by hiddles. These post nice photos, their own gifs/edits and infos without the drama. I have found you don't need to follow more than 2 or 3 sane ones to get what you need as there is a lot of reblogging. I also follow 2 that are irreverent and naughty but affectionate and make me laugh without crossing the line - tomismonochromaticallyfabulous (devoted to his unusually small wardrobe) and flappyhappyhiddles (devoted to his unusually large other attribute).
"Ben Wheatley and Tom Hiddlestone on stage following the excellent #HighRise at this mornings #LFF screening "
Bond .. Tom Bond?
The role is up for grabs and for the first time in awhile, his name is being mentioned. The Night Manager is a hell of an audition tape..
>>836 it was Armani after all, the BFI Luminous Gala tux. So maybe new.
>>901 are you commenting a news or it's a general comment? :) I hope he doesn't, it seems one of those franchise that can block your acting career even more than Marvel's films.
General comment after reading news:
>>904 I think Craig actually said the other day week to TimeOut London that he'd rather cut his veins then do another Bond film, and that if he had to it'd be only for money. That's why I don't think TH would go for it, too demanding in terms of time and too little in terms of acting.
A new report indicates Thor: Ragnarok may feature another Avenger, The Hulk!
>>888 Didn't he say he believed in ghosts just a couple months ago?
>>908 I think it was a story about him in school thinking he saw a ghosts, but I don't remember if eh said he believed they existed. He looked a bit tired in this video.
Question: all this American shows he'll be at, are hey all recorded?
"#ISawTheLight has its special Nashville premiere this weekend, co-hosted by the @countrymusichof! Keep your eyes here this week for details."
>>909 You're right, he did tell a story about hearing horse hooves in the hallway at boarding school when he was a child, but this is a different ghost story I was remembering: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/news/tom-hiddleston-im-a-cry-baby-31499800.html
>>911 that's why we need better journalist for these press tours, someone that could ask "didn't you say you believed in ghosts?".
Thanks, that's a lot to pre-record, I hope they'll be good interviews. Maybe because Jessica is more popular in the US?
"What is Tom Hiddleston’s Awesome Reason for Believing in Ghosts? | MTV News "
What the journalist was referring to in this video >>888
>>914 that seems like an old thing, I mean the interview. EO is still mentioned as a half of TH. Don't tell me it started all over again.
>>915 It is old, the article it's from TIFF - When Anonsy mentioned the video this morning I watched it again and then I saw this article and thought the journalist in that video probably witnessed the "flock of women", hence her comment.
>>916 ah I see now. Sorry, lack of sleep made me see only last paragraph and I nearly choked thinking they started it all over again.
>>917 it happens :) (I just copy&paste in a hurry so I forgot to cut it out, I have to remember there's a preview post button I can use)
Very useless info, but if you were wondering why they are going to film Kong in Oahu instead of Kauai

From what I sort of read of the reviews, the ones that gave a good ranking did so mainly for the visual.
No wonder Universal didn't want to pay for budget, this might actually bomb at the box office.
And I thought this film was the safest one.
So it might be that TH statement about Loki and Marvel have to do with the fact that Loki won't be such a presence in Thor3
>>926 They could be rather mean and have Loki as Odin/ Anthony Hopkins for 90% of the film. I don't buy that Marvel didn't call him for 2 years story since as many have noted, he was filming the extra scenes back in January.
>>927 I hadn't think of that! But it wouldn't be mean, just logical, a king can hardly spend all his time in isolation.

I think we posted an article up-thread about Kong possibly filming in Australia (as well as Thor3), but soon after there was another saying the whole shooting will happen in Hawaii.

Kermode and Mayo's Film Review with Tom Hiddleston
“It’s not set in the ’30s,” said Hiddleston at Wednesday’s premiere of “Crimson Peak.” “There’s no movie director with a map. There’s no out-of-work actress down on her luck. All of that stuff is respected, we’re just trying to do something new with the myth because Kong is an icon of movies. I think he’s someone people want to see again.”

er, yeah. TH's availability vital for publicity to counter release against Batman v Superman. I smell a bit of a rat here.

The link is short, so it may be archived once they have the next Build panel.
>>953 Watch this if only for the moment at the start when TH tries to 'steal' MW's water cup and she says, 'That's mine.' And then he curses. So cute.
Maxim's review. Don't read because of spoilers, but do read for the hilarity:
'The love story between Thomas and Edith is contrived; a multi-second shot of Hiddleston’s ass flexing as he’s inside Wasikowska duringtheir first consummation helps salvage some of this.'
>>956 Hilarious! I've seen the sex scene on tumblr and:
(a) it reveals precious little beyond what we saw on the trailer. It is BY NO MEANS a Fassbender-esque blow for equal nudity.
(b) it attempts a little bump and grind but about 8 inches higher than it ought to be so it looks most unrealistic.
A Southern accent at the start, and talk of his hands at the end. Watch the gun show going on in his shirt as he lifts his hands!!
b) Is he trying to have sex with her belly button? Maybe TH IS a virgin like some of his fans think - I mean, if he's going to town on her navel.
>>959 (b) No, I mean 8 inches of height between him and her so he is obviously thrusting into thin air.
(c) I know this type. Also on this evidence arching the back a lot.
>>960 Go ahead. People can click or not.
Personally, I'm staying away from Tumblr and twitter, they've probably gifed the whole movie by this point. I'm going to wait a week or so to hit this one in the theatre, so I'm going to try to stay away from specific spoilers.
Here it is. Not a spoiler unless you didn't know he gets most of his bum out in the movie, or feel you will enjoy him doing so the less for having previously been able to watch it repeatedly on a loop while waiting for it to come on general release!
I think this may be connected to the Nashville premiere of ISTL. Looks like both EO and TH will be in attendance.
A hot minute with TH. Does anyone like rhubarb? Ugh.
Weird, right? Uncomfortable, yes? This is the sort of thing to which he should be saying a quick No...if he had the ability to say No.
That's it for me - there's a sushi boat waiting for me - and a dark 'n' stormy or two.
Couch will pick up with her morning shift tomorrow! There'll be Colbert and this Nashville premiere thing (maybe there will be pics - who knows?).
>>948 thank you, I appreciate it. I'm possibly the only person who likes him and is happy he is going away for months, I'm never going to follow another press tour like this.
SPC must think us all idiots. Up until TIFF, when we all knew TH would start filming Kong from mid-October questions about an Oscar race were ok, after TIFF, they move the release date because of his schedule. Truth is SPC isn't willing to bet on TH's performance. But let's say it's schedule.
Stuff about CP
-The gang at Colbert Show
Oh watch the AOL video first if you haven't, smell the breast LOL poor TH
if you need to watch the Huffington Post interview, I suggest the katch.me link, the quality is inferior but it's from a different camera.
>>972 Wasn't that great! He misspeaks so rarely, and then bam! The panel has been archived, and is at the bottom of the page.
A more complete article on ISTL and its new release.
>>967 All of this. I feel like I have been given a bottle of champagne and a box of truffles and have gorged them all in one sitting. I need some time off!
And yes, ISTL - how stupid exactly do they think we are? They must have known his schedule for months and anyway, looks to me like he just fitted in the press tour before he started filming - except they then decided not to release ISTL.
>>969 So now we know - feminism means woman on top. Don't get me started. To me also her being clothed and him partially naked just felt silly, like those scenes in Sex and the City where Sarah Jessica Parker is in bed with her bra on.
>>978 not to mention a virgin young girl in Victorian times, who probably has never seen a penis, knowing perfectly well what to do with it and that there is an on top position. Such good instincts.
Poor TH also in the Huffington interview, the Hiddlestoner questions make him so uncomfortable - for good reason.
No it's for ISTL. TH and EO will be in Nashville today for a premiere of some sorts...as the film is now several months away from release.
But she's so moderne this little feisty one! She writes with a typer-writer and thinks and wears glasses...she must know how to ride cowgirl style!
>>982 I know I was kidding :) - that lazy guy could have made the effort of finding a still from ISTL.
Kudos to EO for finally showing up to promote this film. I get it that festivals in US cities don't compare to Paris fashion week, but a little effort goes a long way.
I think this group needs to be official disbanded and banned - like the Japanese govt. does with certain religious cults.
>>984 I wouldn't be surprised if Loki and the Scarlet Witch are brought up - as he seems to be a comic book guy.
A longer version of the Hot Minute interview. If you have a TH using foul language fetish - hold on until the end of the clip.
>>985 If there was any philanthropy it was just to hide their obsession. I think the reason why TH is mentioning UNICEF - as jokingly pointed out by Jessica in the Huffington video, before she realized how uncomfortable TH was with it - is to shift the focus from their obsessive behaviour.
>>976 This article is pathetic. Here are 4 million reasons to release it in March which we should have known about all along except that y'know, we are Sony Picture Classics so we've never released a movie before.
We all know it is being re-edited by a person who knows what storytelling is to try and make it the sum of its parts. Or that it is beyond hope and come March will actually be released with minimum fanfare and an after party in a youth hostel.
They're banging the right drums: we'll do it justice Oscar run-wise, we'll re-release in December, we'll give it a push.
I wonder who that black woman is that appears around Tom in NY. You can see her on Torilla photos.
What's really annoying about SPC, aside from treating us all as idiots, is that they are blaming TH's schedule, i.e. TH. for their bad choices. They are lucky he is a good person, other actors wouldn't have agreed to promote the film after something like this.
Nashville? NYC? Who knows. What I do know is RC works a denim jacket like no one else.
>>991 Going by what she was holding in her hands in some photos I'd say staff or a PR person to tell them where to go.
Am I the only one that finds Jessica's attitude toward TH is almost sisterly and not flirtatious? Never mind the fans that are totally convinced they hooked up during CP, some people are just hopeless, but it didn't seem to me she was making it look like there was something going on. Maybe it's because I saw her in another press tours and she is always friendly.
US rep. from some corner...Legendary, WM agency, HH...or his SECRET LUVER!!!
>>993 probably Nashville because Rodney has a concert tomorrow in Tennessee
JC's default setting is F&F - fun and flirty. And she does it so well, I think that's one of the reasons she's so likable. She was just as F&F on The Martian press tour as on CP's.
And now he has that blue serge shirt glued to his body along with the boots....
>>997 You'd have to have been severely beaten with the ugly stick to make unpretty babiezzz with TH.
