I don't even know what's going on here, except that he's cleaning his glasses, in a tux, in daylight. Daylight ain't for tux-wearing!
I take the chance of a new thread to post this.
In the, very likely, event I'm not around when a new thread is needed, to start a new one simply click on the "new thread" link you see in the box at the top of the page.
>>2 isn't that thing with Horowitz and MTV? The video that will be up next Tuesday.
as soon as the child leaves us for the monkey, mummy will take a well deserved vacation - but really I don't see myself still commenting on this man forever.
>>5 That boy has boobies on the brain. Remember the hilarious screen caps of him checking out Jaime Alexander's breasts on the Thor press tour?
>>6 True, so true. And now I'm off to the Horsebox to watch the rugby. Go...any team except NZ. I really don't want them to win again.
By the way, because there is a god, the capcha on this post was "jugation"
Anon, about that woman you asked in the other thread.
And they are in Nashville
Anon, forgot to add she is a publicist and works here
(I didn't investigate it on purpose, Torrilla has that instagram photo in a post and I recognized her)
Not me as in the regular Anon without dot responsible for among others the above boobie posts. We have recently acquired a new Anon and I am further confusing matters insofar as I have bizarrely acquired a new IP address. I really need a proper name.
I think it is the new board. I am still posting from the same place but previously my id ended SePP. How do you get to post from heaven?
On a totally unrelated note he has now worn that blue serge shirt on 14, 16 and 17 October. And the same jeans and belt and boots. And the same pants except that we all know by now he doesn't wear pants.
>>12 I noticed the different IP but thought maybe you were not posting from your usual place. It is the new thread in that there's a new cookie.
Anyway, to have a unique id, write something in the link box and then use always that same word. The id will be the same even from different IPs.
915 917 and 991 on previous board not me. I try not to get proprietorial about the name Anon on an anonymous message board (!) but it does get a bit confusing when I already post under that name from 3 IDs - work, home and 3G. I like to think my own idoosyncratic style marks me out from the others....!
>>17 welcome. Nobody asked because I suppose to everyone it was clear she was staff, so not relevant in the big scheme of things. You were lucky that Torrilla posted a photo from her instagram so I could add the rest, if not for that I wouldn't have bothered to find out.
ISTL premiere in Nashville, photos are up at Torrilla (has EO gained a lot of weight of recent?) and here's a short video of TH performing
>>19 I can never tell EO's weight because she has a tendency to wear clothes that make her look much bigger than she is. For example I would have thought she had gained a whole lot of weight between that award ceremony in Paris (when she wore the white dress) and the TIFF ISTL premiere (with the terrible black peplum gown) except that the events were only two days apart.
>>20 that is true, I was mainly going by her arms - not that there is anything wrong with it, but she looked thinner at TIFF.
aa per your request other videos
By the way, the fact that the film premiered in Nashville rules out that it will undergo editing for the march release. Or additional shootings, I don't see TH losing weight again.
>>23 I was just thinking this - seeing the effort they went to to organise this premiere, I'd say it was until very recently meant to be the actual premiere (with TH making a special effort to fly to Nashville despite his busy schedule!!), with a general release following. Someone got cold feet at SPC.
>>24 that is my thinking too, knowing TH won't be available in Nov. this was meant as the actual premiere, the way they did advanced screenings of CP so TH could be present.
Since I can't find a video of Colbert Late Show (except for the short clip about TH's showing his English countryside in CP), here a clip of when he left the the Late Show
I thought the striped suit photoshooting would appear in Nov. instead GQ showed now, although there's no interview, at the moment.
As the director introduced the film’s star, Tom Hiddleston, a member of the audience yelled out, “Loki!”—referring to the character he portrayed in the popular Marvel movies The Avengers, Thor and others. The English actor hesitated, smiled and said, “Thank you. I hope after you see this film that you might instead say, ‘Hank.’”
There certainly won't be more shooting. I remember reading somewhere that re-shoots are some of the most expensive outlays in movie production - and thus only done when the movie wouldn't make it to the screen without them. It was in an article regarding the J. Roberts and C. Zeta-Jones movie.
>>28 Quite. ISTL bad reviews and new release date must have been a disappointment for TH. CP, HR and ISTL especially were supposed to change how the public perceived him (fangirls not included), instead ISTL will be seen by few, as HR, and CP isn't doing great, so there goes his hope that they won't think of Loki as soon as they see him.
"The "Compton" boys hitting District Night Club last night. "Kong" is off the hook! #jasonmitchell #coreyhawkins "
I think HR and CP might be doing what he/his people wanted them to do. HR is meant to be his artistic and edgy movie - like Kubrick's ACO. CP is his more mainstream "I can do dark beyond Loki' movie. Reviews are mixed for both, but aren't they so often?
Tom Hiddleston Performs As Hank Williams Live
GQ article. Is for CP, not HR or ISTL.
>>33 I agree with you that as far as people in the business are concerned all three movies did great to show his range. But the normal movie-goer won't see a single one of this film, ISTL is bad movie, CP isn't good enough and HR will have a very limited distribution.
So to the general public he is still Loki. Did you see that AOL talk, when the old guy at the end says that he would like to see TH playing Prince Hal and Henry V? And the Hollow Crown was on PBS (I think).
>>29 I guess the director has mistaken episodic and unfocused for "documentary styleee." Ken Burns he ain't, I suspect.
>>38 yes. I scrolled down looking for the rest and that was it!
>>33 You forgot the other franchise he has, perhaps unwisely, chosen to ally himself with: Shit Island.
How could I? In 2020, Godzilla and Kong will come together!! I hope TH and EO's love will get another chance then! Nothing can bring two star-crossed lovers together like a movie based on a wrestling match between an overgrown monkey and an overgrown lizard.
Is this up yet? The Film Program on BBC. I've not clicked on every link - who can? - so it may be a repeat link.
TH goes through the gears speaking about his three upcoming films.
The internet can't decide if some of these are manips or the real thing. It doesn't help that the only source seems to be in Thai or Vietnamese.
Either way, the last one in the series is gorgeous! TH needs to let some of those blond curls come back in, or use less product in his hair. And he needs to wear more white shirts.
If you want the exact numbers for CP go to boxofficemojo. if an article is enough here's Variety's and Forbes's
>>43 Gorgeous - I think it doesn't usually look like this due to overuse of product and his insistence on having his hair blow dried like Beaker. You can see how blonde it is in the creepy HuffPo video.
Hank Williams Biopic Premieres In Nashville
>>39 on the other hand this bit made me laugh
"By the time Tom Hiddleston was done shooting Guillermo del Toro’s new horror film, Crimson Peak, he was really, really ready to leave del Toro’s beautiful, bleak world. “I need to see the sunshine,” he says, “and I need to swim in the ocean, and I need to be my blond self for a bit.”"
>>45 What a day it is when $12.8m is a flop. My view is that they spoilered it out of existence. I haven't seen it yet because I have worked out what happens just from their material, not from reviews.
Interesting that TH superfans are a fussy lot as well and/or not actually so numerous that they are capable of making a movie open big. Tumblr was full of 18 year olds saying they weren't into horror and banging on about their abuse triggers (by the way how do these people deal with the Internet/life more generally? My husband tells me that someone at a Scottish university complained she had not been wanted about rape triggers - in Ovid!!).
>>49 The number of his hardcore fans doesn't equal the number of his twitter followers, clearly. Social networks and all the chat makes it seems like there's more than there really is.
In fact, this also proves that his fans lie when they say they are fans because of his work, that's just to cover their obsession for him. The only part of the film they were probably interested into was his naked butt.
>>50 I've thought that for a while. I how long it will take studio execs to realise that being a tumblr darling does not necessarily equate to big box office. Sections of Tumblr also didn't like HR (dog eating triggers) or ISTL (rubbish movie triggers/who is Hank and why should I care?).
>>50 And even the butt was not enough to make $20m at the box office. We saw most of it in the trailer anyway.
>>51 If they didn't before they will now. Of the three CP, sold as GdT latest masterpiece, was supposed to be the blockbuster.
TH presence and his English countryside were supposed to bring all his fangirls to the cinema, that's how they promoted it. Someone misunderstood the Coriolanus rabid crowd and the queue of fans outside CP's studio as tickets, I think.
>>52 all those embarrassing questions for nothing.
Tom Hiddleston Interview - I Saw The Light Premiere
I Saw The Light Premiere Red Carpet - Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen, Maddie Hasson
>>53 Well thinking about it, I suppose TH is equal with women who get naked. The nudity was gratuitous and was done to improve the box office - equal opportunity exploitation.
more photos for ISTL premiere
>>58 lol You'd think that with all the fashion shows she attends she'd have better taste. And why she is always slouching? Up girl!
>>59 Celebitchy still trying to sell the "dating" story...
>>60 I know, dumb uh. They make a fuss whenever a critic is moved about anything even remotely related to him, to the point they become negationists - CP is not failure, it was never going to be a blockbuster! All is good! You hear me! - and when something, that potentially could have damaged his reputation and that clearly annoyed him is buried, what do they do? They start talking about it again, on the internet. If it makes them happy.
Google Talk Guillermo del Toro, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska: "Crimson Peak"
Avengers costars (and real-life lovebirds) Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen shared a laugh at the premiere of I Saw the Light at The Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, Tenn., on Oct. 17.
>>64 I suppose Us doesn't want to backtrack on all their "inside scoops" now, so they're just going to keep pushing the romance story. Same with celebitchy, but I think it's worse for Us since they were the ones who started all the rumors in the first place. Town Bike as well.
>>62 It's fair to say nobody used that before and now you have a 100% cast iron claim to it!
>>66 Exactly. CB now peddling the line that they are FWB because EO didn't deny that, right? Ignoring the fact that he has been in the US for some time now and not once has the friend flown to NYC to provide benefits - unless we assume that their ability to avoid paps has improved considerably.
>>67 EO was papped at the LA Airport on October 16 (day before ISTL Nashville premiere), so she was definitely not in NYC with Tom.
>>67 TH was in NYC for only 3 days, doing intensive promo for CP though
>>69 Eh, there's always time for sex, even during film promos. ;) If my long distance boyfriend (or FWB for that matter) was going to be on my continent for only 4 days I sure as hell wouldn't wait until day 4 to see him.
Triggers...is that what Millennials are calling 'real life' these days.
>>71 More concerningly, that's what they're calling art and literature!
>>71 As someone who has personally dealt with trauma, I get very angry when I see people on tumblr abuse the concept of "triggers" and now they're bringing it into real life as well. They are either misunderstanding and misusing the term, or if they have actually been through a traumatic event they are leaning on "trigger warnings" as a crutch and should instead be seeking some sort of therapy.
I don't know when this was taken, I think originally it showed up on twitter on Friday, but if she was indeed papped at LAX, then this is perhaps old.
There is always time for sex...just like there's always room for Jello.
>>73 In the course of my work I have worked with quite a few people with sometimes very severe PTSD. I would never seek to belittle their condition. I'm really sorry to her you have experienced trauma in your life.
PTSD is fortunately relatively rare, with specific internationally recognised diagnostic criteria, and it is by no means an invariable consequence of trauma. There is a huge difference between experiencing a flashback, and seeing something in a movie that reminds you of a bad experience in your past which marks you feel sad/uncomfortable. The former is a symptom of a medical condition which requires help, and which should be taken very seriously, the latter is - part of the human condition. I agree with you that the Tumblr kids really seem to mean that they don't want to be exposed to things that might disturb them - they're not entitled to trigger labels to help them with that. Much great art/literature is disturbing, and designedly so. If you need labels to deal with that then the labels aren't the help you need.
>>74 Was she flying out of LA to Nashville? Where would you connect through? (If anywhere)?
I think what you've laid out is the heart of the matter - some people use them not because they've suffered/experienced these events and don't want to be reminded of the events. Instead, I fear some people are using them when they want to avoid subjects that they find difficult. Or worse, subjects that they'd like to think don't exist. Yep, nothing like denial. They'd like to trigger warning the dishes and exams and getting a job when, as you wrote, they are not meant to be used in this way.
>>76 Thanks. :) I wasn't under the impression that anyone here was belittling those with actual PTSD, so no worries about that.
I think a lot of people these days are so afraid of feeling sad or uncomfortable in any way, and calling something upsetting a "trigger" makes it sound more important than just saying "this reminds me of my ex, I don't want to watch it" - which is still a valid feeling, but as you have said does not qualify as a trigger.
I have no idea. I feel like there might be a direct to Nashville from LAX - I'm not going to go to Delta to look!! I'm NOT.
>>81 I went ahead and took one for the team - there is a direct flight from LAX to Nashville. The pic of EO with the Delta employee must be old, because she was definitely in LA the days leading up to the ISTL premiere. She was in Europe for some fashion thing earlier this month, I think, so maybe she stopped off in NYC then, or at least had a connecting flight in JFK. That would make sense.
>>82 I have no shame because I looked as well. I am sorry I set this hare running by saying "ah well if she was in NYC with him they'd have been papped. Hangs head.
Regarding his non-at-all-impromptu concert, why didn't he take off his jacket, roll up those sleeve, put a cowboy hat on - maybe pop some chaw in his cheek - and then sing.
Of even better, where was this?
>>83 Haha well at least we do our research around here. It's better than the wild unfounded speculation seen elsewhere on the internet (and unfortunately in some printed publications too).
>>84 Yes, Tom should have exclusively worn Hank costumes for all the ISTL premieres and events, or at least worn the hat and boots.
EO certainly was giggly last night.
Knowing what little we do about the adorable try-hard - I'm surprised he let any of the other band members on the stage.
It doesn't look too bad. Umm, I guess. Nothing could be as bad as Loki'd, right? Right? Someone reassure me.
Er. Um. Not as good as the slumber party though.
Hang on a minute...
Am I too drunk or there are serious speculations about Eo/TH thing again and we are discussing it again on a serious matter? I mean what's wrong with the people, if both denied that they aren't an item, and clearly met each other as friends... I don't mean you, guys, I'm just surprised and slightly confused...
>>94 you mean that they won't stop gossiping until he gets married ?
I was always laughing hard about that story, but now it seems annoying. What else can EO and TH do to make sure that stupid people could finally believe they aren't an item?
I regret not being around for JA. Strutting her stuff at Wimb., interacting with fans on twitter, favoriting Loki tweets and Bora Bora holiday tweets, the Cheshire cat grin in the restaurant pic - the girl had balls - and, by most accounts, an attention-seeking thirst to match TH's, and that's saying something.
>>93 The whole business was based on one word in the caption of a photo by one publication (US weekly), probably made by an copywriter who just read the previous headline that the publication had written.
Honestly - a storm in a tea-cup - maybe they have previously, are currently or will be shagging the brains out of each other BUT since they both recently publically stated that they are not in a romantic relationship with each other, I will give them a tiny bit of respect and believe them (and yes, people lie all the time etc. etc. etc.).
I don't see the reason why would they lie. In that case Jassica was lying too when she denied the rumors that she and Tom weren't dating.
The following is my guess, but I did had a strange feeling that Tom wasn't comfortable around EO and she around him before they denied the rumors. Again, all what we saw -their interaction And etc - was in front of cameras, when the backstage reports said they were rather distanced from each other and didn't talk much. I'm talking about TIFF. I'm sure people are watching them like a hawk, and there is always someone sharing what they saw at a premiere, and IF THERE WAS SOMETHING we would know. As usual, we would always know, bed she when there is one person and thousands of eyes, nothing can be hidden.
>>98 Eh .. well in any case, I singularly and genuinely don't care too much about dissecting their every move and gesture. They did seem rather uncomfy at the TIFF probably because it was the first time they were officially seen together after the pap dinner from hell so maybe now that things have been cleared and sorted out, they can both relax and just be friends.
>>99 Agree. Things cleared up and they can relax and be friends.
Lol Luke was there, all the time he was there.you can we him in every photo and video, like a shadow.
The posting of professional reviews from print and online sources is certainly welcome.
All I can say is that the movie was amazing. Worth of every moment and and in couple of moments I had to close my eyes, and I'm not so easily scared! People are surely scarrier then ghosts! Lucille took my heart. That's for sure. I was rather indifferent for Edith, she isn't my cup if tea, but Mia was ok. The ending made me cry and I sobbed all the way home. Very good ending. Very good.
>>89 I thought it was the photographer/s making the cast laugh because you see even TH looking ahead and laughing - And contrary to what CB posters say, EO wasn't putting her left hand on Tom's but on her right hand, you can clearly see her right arm wrapped around Abraham left arm.
Tom Hiddleston On I Saw The Light & Thor: Ragnarok
Hank Williams biopic ‘I Saw the Light’ premieres at The Belcourt
>>105 ok so if I and somebody else watched the movie relatively at the same time it makes us one and the same person? How clever. Apparently I'm the same person with all those people sitting in the cinema with me yesterday. All around the world.
TOM HIDDLESTON & MIA WASIKOWSKA im GHOST QUIZ | Crimson Peak Interview
>> 109 Okaaay. Right. So, maybe Loki'd wasn't that bad after all :)
P.S. My captcha was "Skull", I swear. Anyone knows anything about prophetic signs or similar stuff?
>>110 Are you about to see CP? If so this confirms the capcha KNOWS THINGS. As mentioned above it referred to jugs when I posted a pic of TH staring down Jaimie Alexander's cleavage!
>>110 And yes, there was worse after Steve. Facebook link yesterday didn't reveal the full horror. if TH had been in the gimp suit, that I would have paid money for. Or EO. It was black after all.
Moderately spoiler-ish but hilarious! http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20151015-film-review-crimson-peak-is-a-horror-all-right
>>113 I enjoyed it, and have found myself disagreeing with many of the reviews I've read. The BBC review >>114 Anon shared, for example, said a few things were irrelevant to the plot of the film that I thought were either completely necessary or at least added to the story and my understanding of the characters.
TH, JC and MW were on Charlie Rose tonight. There are a few teaser vids up on the CR youtube channel. They should post the whole interview soon - that is their policy in general.
Hopefully, Hiddlestoners were not mentioned. Loki may have been - CR tries to be pop-cultural like that on occasion.
New - and I think rather sexy - Andy Gotts shot released: https://mobile.twitter . com/DrGotts/status/656612192142413824
Well I booked to see CP at the IMAX in London - might as well be hung for a sheep etc.
Couch may have started her holiday - and rightly so! She's earned it. So, here are a few tidbits from twitter and the 'tube of you.'
If you really wanted a 9 minute video of TH doing HW, here it is.
>>119 Thank you. It's been a bit quiet round here today!
I'm working from home today - bit of a cold. So I thought I'd post a few things.
>>120 It has gone all hush-hush!
>>121 I saw Crimson Park today. Much better than the bad reviews would have one believe, though the plot was a trifle clunky. I could have guessed the main plot twist even without all the hints that were dropped by GdT. So I think could anyone who has read a few gothic novels.
>>121 And because I feel guilty about not posting many links I bring you the following. You thought we were at the bottom of the barrel, but there's a lot further to fall. http://mashable.com/2015/10/22/tom-hiddleston-shanghai-chinese/
I saw CP today too. I really wanted to like it, but... Well, don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, and I agree that it was probably better than the reviews said. Still, I felt kind of underwhelmed throughout the movie. I dragged a friend along (she's not a fan of TH, or of any other actor in CP, for that matter) and she got bored halfway through. I, of course, had the disadvantage of seeing the trailers and reading a couple of reviews, so sort of spoilered myself and take a part of the blame - maybe I would have liked it better if I haven't.
Oh, and a lot of people said that Mia was the blandest - I disagree, she seemed quite OK to me, considering that no one has delivered a noteworthy performance in that movie, TH included.
>>124 does one need an explanation about why they look that way? I didn't see any spoilers explaining it but I kind of guessed from the story.
>>124 I also thought the first sex scene was ridiculous in the context of where it wa meant to be in their relationship. And in the second one GDT bottled it. He should have been naked in that one.
Who hasn't seen it yet?
>>126 OK, spoilers (minor).
She meant why most of them looked like half-decomposing, skinless, blood-dripping skeletons, more zombies than ghosts. I guess, she waited the story to explain that something REALLY GORY and terrible happened to them, not just "simple" killing. NB: She didn't see the trailer, hasn't watched any interviews or read reviews, so hasn't heard anything about "gothic romance, not horror", etc. The story just didn't seem very consistent to her, probably.
I thought the ghosts looked that way because of (SPOILER) where their bodies were buried. I'd be more specific but I don't want to accidentally ruin anything for anyone who hasn't seen it.
>>129 I initially thought the same. But the vision generally seemed to be that when you cark it your ghost gradually goes skeleton (cf very end). There was another detail about one of the ghosts which made sense. Again saying no more due to spoilers.
I haven't...but I'm okay with spoilers. I sometimes figure out plot lines halfway through movies. A quote from me to a friend the first time I saw The Sixth Sense in the theatre: 'So if the kid can see dead people, is Bruce Willis dead?' The kid said he could see dead people, I took him at his word!
Here is a spoiler filled - warning!! - review that is beyond funny. It has teeth and bad language, but it's hilarious.
If you think TH is too precious for criticism, please do NOT read.
>>134 Right? Some memorable quotes:
'He did everything quarter-assedly, like he had spiritual anemia.'
>>135 And my absolute favourite: no trees for miles around. Where do the leaves come from????
I love when Mallory and Nicole unite on Toast. When this came up, I thought all my sick-day wishes had been answered - even if I still had a cough and sore throat.
Or how Edith thought a hole in the roof was magical.
>>135 Why haven't I seen it earlier?
"Mallory: he practically FAINTED every time someone disagreed with him"
Rather randomly, I came across this bit of ? professional snark from his peers after the Graham Norton show
(Robert Icke is a rather phenomenal theatre director imho irrespective of snark)
Since there is nothing much to talk aboht now, let's have a collective laugh. The Bike woman is desperate again. I have never seen anyone with such a strong wish to make blues TH is dating EO, everybody moved on, except her.
And another one. To be honest they all look so the same I wouldn't be surprised bike woman sent it herself.
Now that the event is well and truly over - I do believe that Tom wouldn't have missed a particular family event yesterday - even for a fake gorilla... Congrats to Emma and her new hubby!
>>145 wow so great! Congratulations to her indeed!
How did you find it out? Maybe that's the reason he wasn't seen on set yet, plus this he did say he was flying to Hawaii on Sunday, so there you go.
They were married in London at a very old church - under her husbands formal name ... The wedding was listed in the church website. I did not want to publicise it before the ceremony out of respect for their privacy on the day.
Ignore Lex/Cabbage Anon/Sw3anon clearly she is too obtuse and obsessed to understand when people don't want her around.
>>141 I suppose it depends on how you interpret the verb treasure? It could be treasure your insecurities as in keep them hidden, or don't be ashamed of them and put them to good use.
>>145 He was on set this week but he surely went back to London for the weekend. No need to post the link to the church even now, it doesn't take much to find it anyway.
>>150 ah it is done and finished with anyway and irrelevant to post. Presumably (and rightly so) not a media circus on account of her more famous sibling.
>>149 I did not know what to make of it until I read the comment which referred to his ... Impressions . Anyway - acting is a bitchy business too - behind all of the smoke and curtains .
>>152 Nice to think it still can be. Many celebs in the UK, even quite well known ones, are left alone much of the time. I saw Tim Burton on the street last week doing his shopping and being ignored like any other citizen. He's another one who seems to own one set of clothes!
>>148 Chill out ok? I'm none of this people you mention. Check my ip and id first ok before jumping to conclusions.
>>155 I'm afraid your monomania about proving EO and TH are not a thing gives you away, as do all the "you'll be sorry" threats to Couch Potato. Not to mention the big fight you had with the town bicycle about EO which you are now bringing here by posting disparagingly about her.
>>147 There were a few twitter posts regarding TH in a morning suit in the City. And then another saying that they met him but because it was a private event, he asked for no pics, just a hello and a chat. I imagined that it was for his sister's wedding. Apparently, he and others then rocked up at a pub - still in full wedding gear - later that evening.
>>156 monomania - what a good Greek word. Thank you for reminding me of it. Must remember to use it more often in the future!
>>157 Forgot to add...drunk, slightly jet-lagged morning suit TH...oh, the glory of it.
Also, I hope that at least one proverbial slutty bridesmaid got lucky...maybe even two...and the female vicar.
>>156 not to mention using your user name to get info about a woman guilty of breathing air close to TH.
>>157 I truly admire your ability to find things of twitter, whenever I try I can't find a single thing, twitter search hates me.
I'm kind of sorry though that because of a silly delusional girl we have to hold back. But who knows, maybe it's better this way.
Anyway, since I was forced back for today I might make myself useful, here's a nice little interview with TH for an Italian radio.
I have sooo many accounts blocked - spam accounts, kpop ghost accounts, hard core Loki-ites etc. - that his tag is manageable...as long as he doesn't tweet and blow it up. I remember that I checked it one day after work, and there were 3,000 tweets relating to him. That's when I close the tab and walk away. I'll look at 30 tweets, not 3,000.
On a more distant prospect...having just watched the latest HIGNFY episode with Michael Sheen, does anyone else hope that TH might take a turn in the host's chair?
With the TNM coming up, it might be a nice promotional crossover. HIGNFY is consistently high in quality, and while I'm sure some Loki jokes would sneak in, it would be less cringey than some other appearances.
An interesting article regarding CP, China and ghosts, i.d., superstitions.
I'm not one to think that financial failure = career blot, however, I'm sure TH, GdT and the powers that be at Legendary would like CP to make a healthy profit.
>>164 I am bad at Twitter as well so (privacy permitting) always keen for you to post your discoveries. No need to link if you are worried about lurkers.
BTW that thing about China and ghosts was fascinating! I am sure I have read Chinese literature featuring ghosts. All banned now I suppose.
>>166 I wondered why it hadn't opened in China yet since it had in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
This is an interview for an Italian mag, the few things that were somehwat interesting - it's not a word for word translation.
Looks like Tom will be seeing an awful lot of the Australian sun next year - Skull Island now apparently filming in Queensland (?)
He will be appearing on bbc2 on Artsnight on 6 November.
>>167 I'll admit to being nannyish - not toward TH - but towards the twitter users that post sightings.
I remember that one user who posted about seeing him post-PGG was bombarded with all sorts of questions about EO, what he was wearing, where she was located, could she get a pic, etc. After an hour, she'd made her account private - and rightly so.1
I wonder if this was ISTL promo which was set before the date was pushed back. Could be HR as well.
>>172 I saw a number of obsessive comments to Twitter users who saw him at the theatre, at service station on M1 etc.
I have to say if I did see him I wouldn't tweet it. Twitter has really chipped away at any privacy celebs have now. Some of my acquaintance, whom I otherwise consider relatively moderate, are surprisingly militant about this ("if he didn't mind being photographed he wouldn't take the Tube, he can afford a taxi" etc). I really don't think that being famous means you have signed up for creep shots tracking your every move across London. Long may he continue to be able to use the tube, walk out for a coffee etc without being photographed or tweeted everywhere he goes. I hope the lack of Heathrow tweets means he was able to leave the country unnoticed.
>>174 Although of course inquiring minds want to know if others tweet.....consistency thou art a jewel etc etc.....
>>173 Indeed. "And now we welcome Tom Hiddleston to talk about the soon to be delayed I Saw The Light".
Sorry for multiple posts. Butterfly mind unable to concentrate today. Anon., have you seen CP yet?
I feel like this might be another reason why he's backed off using twitter himself. Some of his tweets located him and his actions/movements just as much as pics and tweets from other people.
I haven't!! I was meant to go Friday, but was too ill (I didn't want to be that person - the one that coughs all the way through a movie!). On Saturday, I went to watch the rugby and was too tipsy (read: drunk on beer and Nyquil) to do a movie justice afterward, and I was also afraid the beer/Nyquil chaser would cause me to shout out inappropriate things during the sex scene.
>>180 My boy refused point blank (doesn't like horror movies - and forget all that GDT bleating about it "really" being gothic romance, he knows it was a horror movie with literary pretensions). I bunked off work and sat alone in the IMAX surrounded, slightly oddly, by lone males wearing white socks and heavy metal t shirts - not the demographic I was anticipating. About 20 of us in all. It was glorious, like owning a very, very large tv. It has totally bombed at the box office.
>>172 The interwebs is a strange, strange place indeed. Tbh, I was very relieved once the NW3 person mysteriously stopped posting. The daily updates on whether or not the man was outside his front door was very unsettling and undoubtedly fed into ("well-intentioned") stalker central aka as the cafe crowd.
>>179 Will skull island still be seen as crap when (presumably) Oscar nominated/winner Brie Larson is attached to it?
ISTL seems to be on a weird PR trajectory of its own at this stage.
>>183 Who knows - but with so many rewrites, delays and personnel changes it will remain, to me, Shit Island until it comes out! I do at this point slightly question his eye for a great script. For example everything I have read about ISTL (episodic series of unexplained vignettes from the life of) suggests that it is not just poor direction that has sunk it. And the plot of CP is not a great surprise. So is SI going to be better? I hope so but I am not taking his word for it.
>>184 Well, there is also the possibility that he just takes whatever script / film he is offered. I am not sure that he is at that position where he isn't competing with others higher on the Hollywood food chain than himself for the choice parts.
Two words - Jupiter Ascending. ER and his buddy Oscar couldn't save that one. Hopefully, K:SI won't be that bad!
Hmm fair enough (I lasted about 10 minutes into the Jupiter film, Eddie or not) but I thought that it was made before ER had the accolates..
anyway, here's hoping that Brie has the confidence and acting chops, together with Tom, to make something out of a seemingly trite script. I saw "Me, Earl and the Dying Girl" too recently and thought that Thomas Mann was terrific, so ... fingers and toes crossed for something not awful to watch.
eh I meant accolades though probably acolytes too by then.
An interesting tidbit re: ISTL and when TH came aboard.
I think TNM is going to be our first 'something not awful to watch.'
>>189 That is fascinating indeed - I have to say that in terms of appearance, he does really resemble Hank, so perhaps that was what Marc Abrahams was also considering.
HR is a very very very niche market and most certainly won't be playing at your average US multiplex (imho) so lets see. Perhaps Netflix or whoever will pick it up instead, though I don't really know how the business works tbh.
>>189 That tidbit makes a lot of things fall into place. No script, plus TH much less well known at that time (far from being the star of WH), flattered by the attention of someone wanting him for a lead, and the lead having OSCAR written all over it.
Hadn't seen this before - especially for them as knows Lat and Gr (looking at you, Anon.)
>>185 '(why oh why didn't they just let him keep his bouncy golden locks in CP?)'
Because it's a gothic romance, and that is iconically about a talk, dark, handsome stranger with a past. Thematically, the 'dark' bit is important. That's why Chastain had a black wig too.
It's not true to say that he had no projects in 2013. He had Coriolanus, which he was preparing for from at least the summer onwards and opened in early December, and Thor: The Dark World (principle photography happened at the end of 2012, but a lot of Loki's bits in the final film were from re-shoots in 2013). He obvously had promotional duties for Thor fall in the middle of what would have been Coriolanus rehearsal period, so they started rehearsing ealier than usual, then had about a month off for him to promote his film, then went straight back into rehearsal. That accounts for about half of his 2013!
>>181 Don't say it bombed, don't burst the bubble for the fangirls who are calling it a success about to make profit.
>>197 Yes, it bombed. And yes, even if he was rehearsing and doing reshoots for Thor 2, he had a quiet 2013. That's why he was available for all that promotional work for OLLA and Thor. A lot of people (not just me) remarked that he would have turned up to the opening of an envelope in 2013, because really not very busy.
>>195 He seemed slightly gray as a character- nothing sinister stuck me whatsoever as opposed to the icy visage of Lucille. I am trying to remember who I was thinking of in a similar role and I immediately thought of Allesandro Nivola's characterisation in Mansfield Park http :/ /www.imdb.com/title/tt0178737/
You know, it's not actually normal for actors to have back-to-back filming scheduled all year, every year. They do need some time off - some actual recuperation time, and time off to find their next project. It's the way the business works. A major blockbuster release and a major Shakespearean lead role in a year would be considered plenty of work by most actors.
>>200 Well you can't have it both ways. Either he was busy in 2013 or he wasn't. Are you Luke Windsor?
More generally I notice that you only ever seem to pop up here to tell us the error of our ways and not otherwise to contribute to the conversation. It might add to the gaiety of nations if you tried not to get so exercised by the remotest suggestion that he may not have been working flat out or that his hair wasn't right or whatever. We are all speculating on here, let's be honest, and you insisting that he is planning new projects or having some much deserved downtime is no more well informed than my original thought (which so sent you off the deep end) that he may have been keen on ISTL because he had been a bit quieter than he'd like.
Apparently K:SI now also to shoot in Vietnam according to "sources close to the production." http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/king-kong-skull-island-shoot-834766
Global distribution rights for TNM given to AMC :
Wow. So anyone who posts something positive in here is Luke Windsor?!
>>202 I feel like TH is going to be living Ricky Nelson's 'Travelin' Man' over the next few months. The lucky bastard!
>>204 Kate you are entitled to your positive opinion but Anon is entitled to hers, so while there's nothing wrong in explaining why you think otherwise you must accept that other people will have a different view, and if you can't replace their opinion with yours you can't start tellign them that they are not fans, they don't genuinely like TH like you do. It's possible to respect his work without liking everything. And if they want to spend the next 4 weeks talking about something they are free to do so.
I saw this when I first entered the TH fandom; I actually found my way in via Classics - long, strange, but true story. Loki, who cares about Loki. Dude's got a Double First in Classics - mamma like.
>>204 The optimism I can cope with - and by and large I think we are a pretty positive lot. We are all here to talk about the great man after all, and why woul we do that if we held him in such scant regard? I don't recall anyone on here talking about his hair loss or saying his career is on the skids.
>>208 You're preaching to the choir. My boy has a double first in Greats. He doesn't really trouble himself with the Loebs or with his dictionary. Thucydides doesn't really do it for me (shock, horror), but I will gladly sit on his knee while he reads from Plutarch.
Here's a random thought - what happened with that UNICEF trip? I haven't heard a peep about it since those pics were located then pulled from that photographer's website.
It sounded like he went to S Sudan in March and then for whatever reason (undoubtedly to do with the geopolitical situation of the time), it was decided not to publicise the trip.
Is K:SI set in 'Nam?
>>210 Thuc. doesn't do it for anyone...unless they can easily translate him. I'll never understand what that man did with participles - ugh, frustrating!!
>>212 I prepared a paper on NATO, the AU and AMIS nearly a decade ago. Every international org. under the sun has set up in that/those country/ies and I feel like there hasn't been too much progress since '02/'03. They're always top of the league on the FSI - never a good place to be.
>>213 Well, I guess it depends on where Shit Island is located. It's vaguely Pacific in other films, not? South East Asia is as good as any, I guess. The helicopters suggest it is set in the 1970s. Maybe TH will have a 70s porn-stash. Maybe they'll capture KK AND re-write history by winning the Vietnam War. TH can do it all!
In earth shattering twitter news...
>>217 Macy's, hmm. Maybe getting his Christmas shopping done early since he's supposed to be filming through December.
>>217 Someone* is pestering him to give his opinion on 'the banana industry.' Yep. I don't know if that's meant to be a joke, a euphemism or he/she really wants TH's opinion on the cultivation/harvest/sale of bananas.
Just responding generally to everything!
1) I find the need to be in Hawaii very odd full stop because Vietnam is well set up to film the military base/generic tropical stuff as well as all the jungly things. There is a former US air base at Danang which is apparently used for every Vietnam war movie ever (saw it when I visited).
I think that Australia will be used for the interior sets though if you get out and about Queensland (especially the Daintree and the far north), you are in the tropics, so it could fit in for other locations.
>>224 I suppose the 15% subsidy must be a big incentive for filming in Australia.
>>225 Not to mention our declining Aussie dollar :( ... We're super attractive as a cheap alternative to LA as I think, was mentioned on the other TH sites.
All is good. I do hope that that poor man does manage to see the rest of the country too whilst he is here - Byron Bay is particularly nice (though at times, a bit shark-ridden) and a particular favourite of the Hemsworths.
>>227 (I forgot, you can also see TH in the second pic the bike posted)
>>223 Oooo, I didn't see the rude tweets. I just search his name, I don't search his twitter handle, so maybe she sent those rude ones without mentioning his name. What did the rude ones say?
I didn't investigate the banana tweet. There were about ten of them in a row, all asking the same thing. Was it really a kid? What kid thinks: I wonder what Loki thinks about bananas, and then acts upon it.
>>229 Sitting naked in a basket chair fondling a string of pearls. Rawr. We might be onto a thing here.
>>231 He'd be the house-husband to a female diplomat. His name would be Manny, and in true Emmanuelle style, he go on a journey of sexual discovery!! She wore a lot of silk robes, as I recall, so he'd need to do that as well.
>>232 Maybe we are going off topic (as if we haven't before). My parents had travelled a lot in Europe in the 80s. They were considered cosmopolitan because they made spaghetti out of the dried stuff not out of a can. They owned Emmanuelle on vhs (I am really showing my age here). I stole it and watched it with my little friends. Some of their parents owned The Joy of Sex. Only mine owned Emmanuelle.
I just reread the "plot" on Wikipedia. It is quite fruity! And like the Night Manager only without the pesky espionage (travels abroad, goes for nude swim etc).
Ok back on message. Anon., did you see CP last night? All agog for your review!
If you want to bid on a stripy pair of Converse which TH has touched but I doubt ever worn: http://www.smallstepsproject.org/portfolio/tom-hiddleston/
>>236 Still a cool thing to do (donate the shoes) but I think they're from last years auction.
>>236 Oops .. sorry .. stand corrected! They are front this years - the link was weird. Nice shoes in any case, and nice cause. :)
>>238 They are and it is. It is just that last year and this he has donated a pair of shoes he was never seen wearing (last year was a pair of black Jimmy Choo lace ups made of funky black patterned leather which looked brand new and which definitely weren't his style!). Maybe he thinks his own shoes get so much wear they aren't fit to donate!
>>239 Definitely! Also: how many actual pairs of shoes does the man possess? 3: and furthermore .. it honestly wouldn't surprise me if someone managed to extract his DNA from the odd toenail clipping found in one of his footware ..
>>235 Sorry for the late reply: Friday was movie night, Saturday was rugby in the morning/afternoon and Halloween party in the evening. I'm happy I got an extra hour this morning - that you Eisenhower for your DST scheme!
Spoilers...maybe...read at your own risk.
A few - rhetorical - questions and comments about CP:
1) JC neither blinked nor used an English accent at any point. Great outfits though.
I should have added that I found it to be a good level of scary. Because I'd wanted to watch a scary movie for Halloween, the boy decided that we should drive about an hour outside of the city to see this at a drive-in theatre. And, it really helped to ramp up the scary factor - certainly more than sitting in a comfy seat inside a building.
It was Grace Kelly - to me it sounded like a very posh Anmerican person imitating HM the Queen. RZ I thought did the best ever English accent - totally natural sounding. JC sounded to me a bit forced, like she found it hard work, which was a bit odd as she didn't have that many lines.
Apparently, a southern accent is the 'easiest' for a Brit, especially a Texan drawl. I've read/heard a few actors say this. So I find it interesting that as a native Texan, RZ did a very convincing job with her British accent. I'm sure a linguist...maybe even a cunning one! - could explain the reasons why there's a crossover there.
>>248 There is a reason. A lot of linguistic scholars think that the Southern accent is the closest we now can get to the English spoken in England in the 17th century. This theory makes sense given that the first settlement from the old country was in Virginia. (We are venturing into the territory of my college degree now!). I suspect that because of this history, there is still more of a continuum between Southern and modern British accents.
>>248 And the upper class southern accent also consciously changed more slowly - they wanted to sound English for a long time (more refained dahling!). Hence the divergence, even now when there has been a lot of change over the last 50 years, is much less than it is between British accents and any other Ameican accent.
Mark Ruffalo apparently confirms TH for Thor: Ragnarok http://mcuexchange.com/ruffalo-confirms-waititi-and-hiddleston-for-thor-ragnarok-and-more/
And here is the article about S Sudan....
>>252 Aw bless. I am very glad to be proven mistaken on this occasion - lets hope that the profile of "Beasts of no Nation" as well highlight this horrible practice. It must be a world and a lifetime away from what he normally sees in his world (to state the bleeding obvious).
>>253 I am also really glad it doesn't appear to have been a di Caprio style "publicise my movie" trip given that it was released after all his movies came out (and after the original release date for ISTL even if that is now put back).
Artsnight confirmed as hosted/curated by Josie Rourke and featuring TH among others. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06nngzv
BFI player q&a on High Rise with TH and Ben Wheatley: http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-high-rise-director-and-cast-qa-2015/?utm_content=bufferb3362&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitterbfi&utm_campaign=buffer
Artsnight interview is up on BBC Iplayer but here it is on YouTube for international folks: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xbqEnrMF3S0
>>257 I watched the whole program as it aired. The Erin Brockovich piece was strange, like she and JC were having two separate conversations, or EB was answering questions that were only asked in her brain. There seemed to be a disconnect.
Apparently, Shit Island was due to film at a pier in HI. This pier is easily viewed from public locations, so twitter was hopeful of some on-set pics of TH.
>>259 Not sure what I did to make the word 'news' into a link, but it isn't meant to be one, so ignore.
Finally, HR, starting today, is showing in Mexico. It's showing at Cinepolis - a fairly swanky cinema chain (think plush chairs and cocktail service) - for the next few weeks.
I think it totally needs to come over the border...certainly this is what NAFTA was meant to accomplish: the free-flow of movies I want to see from Mexico and Canada.
Producer for AMC in Asia just tweeted that there was a lot of TH's naked butt in TNM.
He's at risk of becoming as objectified as a Hollywood starlet.
>>259 The pier filming was sadly a wrong report. I would love to see some on-set pics
>>262 I do wonder about these tweeters' definitions of "a lot". CP was meant to be the ultimate in naked TH and in kink. 5 seconds of TH bum was what we got.
It's like the nudity clause discussion scene from Notting Hill: length of scene, curvature of arse shown, stunt butts, etc.
Yeah, I figured. It was why I prefaced with the word 'apparently' - because, you know, twitter is about as reliable as getting info from a barking border collie.
>>266 "Lassie, Lassie, did the needle on the arseometer flicker?"
One of the fx guys on CP has been releasing BTS photos over the past few weeks.
Here's one of TH getting ready for a plaster cast session, or maybe a wig fitting?
I was just about to post this! I think it is prep to make the cast of his face he was seen working on in another pic - query for what purpose the cast was made. Hard to tell if he would be a hot bald guy due to the zany expression here.
This may give a better idea of TH as hot baldigan: http://m.weibo.cn/page/tpl?containerid=1005051846858632_-_WEIBO_SECOND_PROFILE_WEIBO&itemid=&title=全部微博#showPic
Sorry seems just to have linked to Torrilla's page generally, but you can see the pic a few entries down.
since things seem to be a be quiet around here... Crimson Peak reminded me of another film I had seen ages ago involving families, secrets, Victoriana and insects.
It does have 100% fewer ghosts and 100% fewer Hiddlestons BUT you could do worse than check out "Angesl and Insects" - bonus is an amazing performance from Mark Rylance.
I love MR. Saw him many many years ago at the Globe, in Cymbeline (bona fide TH link - did you see what I did there?).
If you saw Wolf Hall and have maybe some teeny reservations about its, ahem, quality, I recommend this review in The Weekly Wipe (not sure if you get this in the UK but it is a satirical review show). This review by series regulars Hlomena Cunk and Barry Shitpeas: http://youtu.be/0P-hPLgXB-s
in the US, I mean. I am in the UK. I blame the fantasy you introduced concerning pork pies, yum yum. Are these a thing Stateside?
I also love Charlie Brooker and all the 'Wipes.' I bet TH does as well (legitimate link). Doug Stanhope's 'America is Great' segment brought a patriotic tear to my eye! I bet it brought a tear to TH's eye (legitimate link).
>>274 I couldn't get into Wolf Hall (book or film) despite trying several times .. maybe it is for me at a different age.
I just saw "Bridge of Spies" and I believe that MR has almost exactly the same accent, mournful expression on his face and .. hat.
Here are MR and TH together. If they were eating a scotch egg this would be perfect...! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A8Cw5wVQPVo
>>278 Hey that's brilliant! Thanks for the link ... that Irish lilt amongst all of the cut-glass RP .. (exceptional suit wearing as usual by Tom) oh .. and despite Simon Schama's interruptions, interesting discussion.. any more?
>>279 Links generally? I'll have a think. Links featuring MR, TH and a pork pie hat I am now out of!
Not really...but let's be salacious!
>>281 did he shave his chest in places? He looks a lot hairier in the clip from TNM.
Like TH, he's another one where his voice never completely sells me, but his face/actions do. He's got those RADA-trained eyes and eyebrows - they earn their keep!
>>283 scotch eggs are utterly addictive. I have eaten more than one in a day before.
I'll starting counting and comparing...I'll get back to you!
>>285 I was on the front row for Coriolanus and he definitely had armpit hair and rather uneven chest hair (cf the poster pic). I can't imagine manscaping an uneven shape. Men do get hairier as they get older so I am not that surprised he went from zero to some over a few years. A quick research Google (yeah, I know) suggests the hair quotient in OLLA was about the same as TNM so maybe it is just the light in this pic.
Yeah, but try to have that conversation/discussion with some in this 'fandom.' He shaved his chest hair and armpits - end of, full stop; they'll accept nothing else.
Here's a preview of the ISTL soundtrack
To end my night:
A TBT IG post which is new to me (not linked to the original poster)
Someone from Hawaii just tweeted that she saw TH and EO last night.
People are starting to ask her questions....
I'm at a boooooring work do for my sweetheart and he's giving me bad looks for spending so much time on my phone...but I feel like I need to follow this developing story...FOR THE BOARD!
I ran away to the bathroom to check twitter...what is my life!
And there's nothing. I guess there may be a pic or more tweets in the morning. Maybe it's his sister...that old chestnut.
Could it maybe have been Brie Larson? If the Twitter girl saw from a distance and was expecting to see EO with Tom, she might have assumed it was her.
>>295 good. That will prevent her from lying and stupid people assuming that TH is dating EO. they said no - both of therm. It is hard to get it in tiny brain i suppose.
as for liar from twitter - well, she saw them last night? huh, really? and tweeted it after nearly 40 hours when shehardly could hold the exitement? she is attention seeker thats all.
>>296 Oh for god's sake Lex get back under your Twitter rock. You're a cyber bully and a psycho. Your Twitter description is "real women kill blondes" and you can't even cope with the notion of Sir Thomas Sharpe ending up with Edith. You are a bona fide fruitcake.
>>297 aha yeah sure. guess what? i do, think and say what i want.
at least i have my own position and i'm not gossip thirtsy like you.
>>296 I don't know, maybe she thought it was insensitive to post about a celebrity sighting while Paris was being blown up by terrorists. Just a thought.
Well if you're not interested in gossip may I suggest you stop lurking here, instead of using what Anon. wrote to locate and then harass innocent Twitter users and/ or popping up here spewing semi-literate vitriol every time EO is mentioned.
>>299 i doubt it. I suppose people esp. in US couldnt care that much. Plus this sheclaimed to see them before the terracts. So no, it was a lie.
>>301 I wasn't going to bother arguing with you, but I can't tolerate the stereotype of Americans not caring about global events. I'm American. I care. So do all my friends, family, and coworkers.
>>294 We will never know because the unfortunate original tweeter has now deleted her post. She has tweeted about the Avengers though, so she probably knew the difference between BL and EO. I'm not sure I can bear to open this grisly can of worms again, but they were seen together in late July, then in September and now in mid November. If I were boning TH I would want to see him more frequently than that, especially if I weren't busy with a project. Maybe they're (shock horror) just good mates - or SECRET LOVE but also LOW SEX DRIVE?
Seen in september and now in november. lol. prooves? all just lies and gossips. dont worry EO isnt fucking with Tom. SHE said it. is it so hard to believe what SHE said and he AGREED.
and the author of tweeter doesnt necessary can recognize this two, they look alike too much
Not to mention that September thing comes from Toby that you laugh at. They aren't together, so stop gossiping about Tom that way. Do you realize you accuse him being a liar?
>>302 I wouldn't worry. I don't think anyone sane believes that stereotype. You are arguing with someone that even the town bycycle thinks is a fruit loop.
>>305 No, I think you'll find that they were seen together (in the sense of being in the same place at the same time) at TIFF by about 1,000 journalists!
Well surprise but at Tiff they were presenting the movie. They were kinda expected to see each other in official parts of that. We all know what happened there. That Tom couldn't care less a out her and she ( I know it's hard to get it, but try) denied their dating rumors. And he (it's even harder) agreed with her. It is official. Get over it and stop gossiping. Or do you think.k Tom being a liar?
And btw they weren't seen together apart from official stuff by ANYONE.
I will give this one final try before I ignore you forever more. Please read the post at >>303 - I said I thought it unlikely that they were dating because the most we could say was that they had been seen together 3 times over 5 months and if I were dating TH I would want to see him more frequently than that. The bit in capitals was a joke which you may have problems with because English is not your first language. So no I am not saying the dating rumours are true. Please, please try to read what is said before the red mist descends and you start typing madly.
>>310 three times ? Don't tell me you consider that liar from Twitter as truth lol.
I understood what you say. Apparently accusing people in not having English as a first language is a usual thing to say when you don't know what else to say and how else to insult. Surprise. It is. I was born and grew up in London. And btw the joke is made by intonation when it's not a clear joke, so without hearing it it's usually hard to get it. But you are too keen on seeming to be cool.
"And the author of tweeter doesnt necessary can recognise this two." English as she is spoke!
Yikes. I'm going to need a second cup of coffee.
As for TH and EO. The sighting could be real. Hawaii seems like a very EO-type of destination for a mid-November getaway - I mean it's almost like 60F in LA now, brrrrrr. And five hours in first class - that's nothing.
They could be hanging out as just friends or friends with benefits, or even FBs - but they are - as they themselves said and others on this board agree - probably not 'dating' in the conventional sense.
As for Americans and British - both of which mix nicely on this board - I certainly don't let the opinions or the grammar of one person dictate my perceptions of either country in The Special Relationship.
I know that not all Britons think that Americans don't care.
I should add...
That it would really strengthen The Special Relationship if TH were to date and marry an American lass.
Finally, as a bit a levity:
Last night, when my boy angrily asked what was so urgent as I was typing furiously on my phone, I said, 'A friend is having relationship problems.'
Well Sorry ladies but Charlie Gray who interviewed Tom said very clearly - Tom is sinhle, he doesn't have a lady by his side. And he was one of the last interviewers. So give up, gossip lovers.
I asked a person who knows everything that is going on in Hawaii and he told me there was no news about Olsen arriving - he would know. So again, your Twitter thing was a LIE. Get over it.
He will marry a Lithuanian!! I.e. ME! Wahhahahahaa
Sorry for the outburst. I will go take those reality pills now.
>>317 Anon., I hope you don't think I was calling someone out or making fun of them for being uneducated, having poor language skills etc. I would never do that.
When Lex first showed up round here I took a peek at her Twitter and saw that she said she lived and worked in Tblisi - that, and the way she wrote English, led me to conclude that she was not a native speaker. I put this forward today as an I hope more charitable explanation for some of the misunderstandings which have led her into several spats on this board. She now tells us she is a native English speaker. I don't believe implicitly everything I am told by strangers on the Internet, especially strangers who kick around under so many aliases. I am afraid I retain my own view about this, but I apologise if my disbelieving comment at >>312 came across as unnecessarily mean.
I could get behind a TH-Qaz Anglo-Lithuanian pairing. It's a NATO country, so it's fine with me. Up the Lithuanians!!
Oh, you weren't - I was calling her out, specifically for her crazy posts, not her English skills.
In proper TH news...yes, that still exists.
>>323 I could get behind a sassy Anon.-TH pairing, so if you take that hit for the team, I'm all for it. The RCs would be entertaining.
Off topic: considering the recent political developments, I'm glad that we're in the NATO. There are various opinions of course, but I, for once, am glad. And I think the majority of the population are also.
PS I always thought Helena Bonham Carter. They have adjoining houses which we know HBC likes, and they can do that curly haired English eccentric dressed in the dark thing together. And all their babies would look like him but have her colouring, ie little miniLokis. Perfection!!
Sassy Anon. actually has an engagement ring on her finger, so some other lucky girl will need to take one for the team.
Agreed. Which is why I hold my hand up for mentioning the tweet. As they say, mustn't feed the trolls. I failed in that respect.
>>330 I bet he'd be a right handful. He is 35 and hasn't been in a long term acknowledged relationship since whenever he was with Sursannah Fielding (was it 2011?). Plus he is showing signs of old-git-dom such as retaining The Boots and wearing the same shirt every other day. And I guess that his house is a total man cave - he's said in interviews that his study is a tip and that his mum does his laundry!!! Imagine a woman coming in with Diptyque candles, telling him to change his sheets weekly and throwing away the dirty white converse shoes. He'd totally freak out.
Yes, to all. But I also think his time at boarding school would make him somewhat malleable, especially for a HBC-type.
This is just outrageous. So no fair maiden on this board is to claim TH's heart?
Well, qaz, unfortunately, in real life has a wedding band on her finger. Sorry, TH, you totally have a competition. I know, I know, you won't be able to sleep this night.
>>333 Golly how interesting! I knew that he was catnip to emo/goth/fangirls, but I hadn't anticipated the married women brigade for some reason. A friend of mine went to Nuffield and said she was the only woman in her 30s pretty much. They were either 20 or 60.
Well, I guess if nobody else wants him...
...I'll just have to volunteer.
It doesn't look like my boy is going to ask for the ring back - even after my rude phone use yesterday - so, he's all yours, anonsy.
>>338 if the boots are maintained it will be the first time ever.
What else? Knitting needles, to knit ties, cardigans, jackets etc while sitting by the fire listening to Tales from Shakespeare; tea bags; a can of Luke Windsor repellent.
I just couldn't resist sharing with you!
>>341 Hahahaha! I love in particular the family hubris that they are so much more famous and interesting to paparazzi than they in fact are.
Yeah, what's going on with the paps in Hawaii? Tumblr has got a hold of deleteatweet but nobody has produced another sighting even the guy who has been tweeting most of the shoot info.
Here's the thing about those DM pics and video: I think AO and Bob Saget play it RIGHT.
A very short snippet of RC talking about mentoring TH for ISTL.
A tweet that shows a pic of TH's back and absolute peach of an arse - it is nice in this pic. And it calls CP, Haunted Peak? Was that its working title?
In other, slightly depressing, twitter news:
A few (silver lining?) people are tweeting TH about the sighting in HI...and are @ing tabloid papers (DM, Heat, etc.) and Celebitchy in the tweets. They are - no surprise - accusing him of lying.
Here's the more accessible instagram post of the Haunted Arse (as I'm calling it) pic.
And yeah, anonsy, throw your bikini and a man trap into an overnight bag and get down there. When they pap you put the overnight bag on your head so we know it's you!
What, you mean applying rational thought and actually believing what celebs say about their relationships in interviews, instead of accusing them of being liars and hypocrites?!
From Carrie Crowell's IG:
>>352 How is it that he is such a skinny minnie and wearing a loose shirt and the buttons are still gaping? I also love that he has again got it open down the the navel. He truly is a man of the 70s.
Happy Friday all!
Well, he's alive, and playing Laserquest. Looks very young in this pic for some reason! https://instagram.com/p/-Wq8jMkaYC/
Oh and that is Olly on the far right. Who is a more constant presence in his life than any blonde we know of....save Luke, arf arf.
Looks like TH unlikely to attend the Evening Standard awards tonight: Gillian Anderson is to present Best Actor and Jeremy Irons Best Actress: http://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/celebrity-news/evening-standard-theatre-awards-gillian-anderson-and-kate-beckinsale-lead-stellar-cast-as-we-honour-a3119516.html
Well, the ES arts correspondent is on the red carpet apparently without a camera, and is tweeting things like "Ralph Fiennes arrives" with no accompanying pictures! Clearly you had to be there (or maybe nobody is there - picture or it didn't happen etc.....). S/he has not tweeted about TH.
>>361 Just curious to know why we think that Tom would leave Hawaii in the middle of a shoot, to walk the red carpet for a theatre awards show, given that he hasn't walked the boards in the last twelve months..
>>363 Well I personally didn't!
However some had suggested (on tumblr, not on here I think) that he would present the award given that he won last year, and given that he flew from Shreveport last year during filming.
>>355 Now pulled following a rather unusual slash and burn takedown by the film company, which contacted numerous bloggers and told them to remove the pics (unlike Legendary which left the whole pirated CP love scene up without complaint). There followed a slightly irritated chorus of "well release the flippin' movie then!"
Two new highrise posters just put up --> http://imgur.com/a/tZN4Z
Happy Thanksgiving - especially to the Stateside folks on here that I know about - Anon. and anonsy - and anyone else who celebrates it of course x
Anon. here (now with wine and cookies - just like the Pilgrims ate).
So, before I left for work this morning, I saw a tweet from a guy who works at Radio 2 telling TH to check out a country music program. Turns out it featured a song from the ISTL soundtrack: Why Don't You Love Me. Or as I call it, The TH and EO Post Pap Night Question Song.
>>368 Enjoy your escape!
I so wish the British celebrated Thanksgiving. Back in the day at Cambridge I had a lot of American students and I ate several turkey dinners over the years. Very happy memories - if you want to fall in love with all that is good about America, a Thanksgiving dinner is the place to start.
Also, if you're not following Marc Evan Jackson on twitter, who should be.
If we get a BTS TH tweet, if could very well come from this guy. He's already featured Brie (she seems a good egg)
or 'you should be!' It's the wine and long days typing!!
>>371 Brie, according to her Twitter, reads Scientific American (unlike EO who we recall had no time for "free reading"). She also forages for mushrooms. I secretly or not so secretly think that she should seduce the boy. She strikes me as genuinely nice and normal. A good egg as you say.
>>372 Anyway, go, get drunk and shovel food down your throat - and take some time off from being a real Avenger who saved the world from marauding Russians, turkey legs etc xx
>>370 The escape is for a few hours - we'll be back tomorrow and probably through the weekend. I guess that's why I make the big bucks (I don't actually make the big bucks).
Start a petition! You've had a civil war, that's when ours came back into style. Two holidays with turkeys - the British turkey farmers will love it!
>>375 The real proof that God loves pie is pork pie....
>>373 Did she actually say that? What is she doing on all those long haul flights to fashion shows and to see TH? She's got nothing but time to read.
Off to the boy's. His shift is ending soon (mostly kids caught in the cross fire as their parents try to deep fry turkeys!) and he's promised to make me a grilled cheese - even said he'd cut the mold off the bread AND the cheese before cooking. Ahhh, he's a keeper.
>>377 There ya have it: she only has time to read scripts and doesn't read books for entertainment: http://collider.com/elizabeth-olsen-liberal-arts-openly-interview/
Enjoy your cheese! I am about to toast your freedom from the royalist oppressors by eating my first mince pie of the year washed down with a glass of cheap fizzy pink wine.
>377 Maybe EO thought that statement made her sound too busy with work to 'free read'? Short-sighted of her; someone needs to tell her that being a well-rounded adult is a good thing. All I know about her is acting and fashion.
>>378 Sadly, they don't let me near the launch codes. A serious lack of judgment on their part.
Mince pie and bubbly...it must be Christmas! My old British boyfriend and I used to treat mince pies (M&S if he was buying, Tesco/Co-op if I was) like an advent calendar: one a day starting on Dec. 1. We just ate them with tea - your method is preferable!
Speaking of 'evolved,' this tweet says TH spent Thanksgiving at le cinema. If true, this raises some questions:
Speaking of CP and turkeys, it's official: Forbes put out their list of the biggest box office flops of 2015. CP came in at 15.
But TH shouldn't feel too bad as Blackhat (Hemsworth) came in at 3 and Jupiter Ascending (Redmayne) came in at 13.
He sends emails! He wears shorts!
He's probably writing fan-fiction, or a novel about a misunderstood actor who does really good impressions but can't find love.
Or he's clicking on one of those Russian bride pop-up ads. Don't do it, it's a scam, Tom, a scam!
Thanksgiving go karting: https://mobile.twitter.
>>388 It's all in the bone structure, dahling. As Jackie Stone said in AbFab: 'It's just bone structure, Pats, my whole body hangs off these cheekbones.'
His whole body hangs off those cheekbones, his body...and murder weapons.
A few things:
Sorry, I've forgotten my trademark (.) in the last two posts. I'm slipping!
Forgot to add: Olly, of course.
>>391 You're going to have to fit me for Brie! She is very cool.
The leather jacket is (surprise!!) not a new purchase. It dates from at least 2013, if not earlier. After a month or two of Newclothesnewclothes he is back to doing what he does best, ie ferreting through his wardrobe to put together a whole series of identical outfits: http://hiddlememes.tumblr.com/post/67166360774/wow-after-a-relatively-slow-week-from-your-blog
Fight. Autocorrect fail.
>>396 When you only own 5 things it is easy to make the same fashion mistake repeatedly; in his case the mistake is to assume that every item in his wardrobe is suitable for, well, any, occasion. This is a man who wore that turned up collar coat at Purse Gate in July. He wore exactly the same outfit at Letters Live in March when the wind was blowing from Siberia.
>>396 But then part of his not charm is that he is not a materialistic man, and also although handsome clever and rich, with a comfortable home and a happy disposition, is a tad hopeless with it. I imagine if one popped round to his place for tea it would take him an hour to make - you know the type. A lot of pattering to and fro with packets and jars without much being achieved.
>>398 and waits until Olly walks in and offers to do it. I suspect that there's a bit of headshaking when TH is out of view.
As some of you know, I'm a big fan of Michael K at Dlisted. Well, he's waded in again on the TH and EO Star magazine article.
I'm currently on a cake-detox (yes, I have a problem. yes, I'm trying to face up to it), so the ONLY interest for me in that pic are the cakes behind them.
Those two could be making the beast with two backs in that pic and I would still ONLY be interested in those cakes. They look really delicious.
>>401 Was there a Star article? I note that Dlisted says, possibly not without irony, that the ultimate "source" was Classicalite!
Pity me for I have eaten 6 mince pies in (cough) 3 days and It Is Still November. Mince pies knock some chocolate cupcake crap into a cocked hat.
Speaking of EO, has anyone managed to find the source of those alleged sightings?
>>403 Apparently the article was in the print version of Star and not online, so Dlisted can't link to it. They're linking to an article that cited it instead. It's actually from the Star but 'via' the clickbait site they mention.
>>403 'Pity me for I have eaten 6 mince pies in (cough) 3 days and It Is Still November. Mince pies knock some chocolate cupcake crap into a cocked hat.'
I hate you. I hate you so much. ;)
>>404 No, and the "source" on Instagram likely didn't exist. Some people on Twitter have been intentionally trying to wind up a certain intense Hiddleston fan we all know and love by mentioning sightings of Tom and EO that never happened.
>>406 They were from Marks and Spencer as well, and from their gold box range. Oh yeah. My husband smelled my breath after I ate one and asked suspiciously if I had been drinking!
>>367 Thank you! :) I also ate too much pie this week.
Interesting. Who knows?!? It seems an easy thing to search for stuff on twitter or IG, however, enough accounts are set to private that you only get a sniff of possible sightings from responses and not directly from the sources.
>>407 Ah, it has appeared in Celebitchy: http://www.celebitchy.com/458791/star_tom_hiddleston_dumped_elizabeth_olsen_before_he_left_for_skull_island/
The comments make for interesting reading.
>>410 my pleasure!
In England it seems we now have imported Black Friday and Cyber Monday without the bit beforehand where we say thank you for our blessings. The papers were full of pics of angry shoppers fighting over flat screen TVs.
>>413 Ahhh, the Special Relationship. To quote TH, 'I'm sorry, I'm so sorry' that my country has exported those twin commercial monsters - Scylla and Charybdis - to your shores.
I don't think they were there when I was around. At least, I didn't notice them. Recent?
>>407 She who must not be named? Is she on twitter? It wouldn't take much to wind her up on there. We get attacked and we are pretty middle of the road for fandoms. Twitter would be a mine field!
>>411 Interesting theory!
That said the fact that it's being filmed there seems to be relatively big news, and TH is coming off a lot of recent publicity in the press. Plus his fans are on social media a lot and are by and large interested in his relationship status. I would expect more pics if all these sightings were genuine. I'm not saying she wasn't there at all but if they are "homemaking in Hawaii" (I have sold the movie rights to this title btw) I would expect something by now.
>>415 Are you kidding me?!! Of course she's on Twitter! My recent spat with her was because she tracked down and sent an abusive tweet to the woman who first tweeted the EO/TH sighting in HI, after it was mentioned on here. She is the person the tweeter is responding to in the screen cap you posted.....
>>411 There's still that one deleted tweet about them being spotted in Hawaii, which seemed legit imo.
>>414 I noticed Black Friday a bit last year but in a sort of embarrassed English way (dove gray Friday, more like). Cyber Monday has kind of been a thing for a few years, as it happens to be the day when most is spent internet shopping in the UK. It's the first year I've seen it really linked to big online sales though.
>>418 yeah, I agree, hence not suggesting she was never there at all.
>>416 I'm drinking a concoction of whizzed up lettuce, spinach, pear and lemon juice, so my brain isn't functioning correctly, but I like your crazy conspiracy theory!
She went out there in order to ask him to be her +1 to her sister's wedding. She innocently mentioned that there would be a cigarette theme to the nuptials. TH pictured EO catching a bouquet made completely out of Marlboro 100s, and said a quick no...but probably not before having a quick quickie... and ended their love affair.
>>417 Ohhhh. I didn't connect the two. I thought she came on here to attack us because I mentioned them being in HI.
Now I know. I'll keep an eye out during my trips through twitterland.
>>422 Couch Potato made the connection a long time ago, as did anonsy. Can't take credit for that. She's independently active on Twitter, but she also lurks on here, snaps up unconsidered trifles and then goes off back to Twitter to hunt down the EO believers.
>>421 Knowing the Olsens they probably left the cigs in the packs and pelted their guests with them before leaving. I saw the wedding pics and she looks like a woman trying hard to minimise the appearance of an age gap.
So about the tenth Celebitchy comment - after all the veranda nonsense - is about EO starring in a West End play. WTH? Where is that coming from?
If she does get herself a gig in TH's neck of the woods, we'll know that TH and EO are real and her thirst is real - even if he's going to be in Australia for the next few months.
>>424 And there wasn't a dry eye in the room...because of all the smoke.
Looking at those two, and knowing what I know about them (he's French and in his 40s, she's a former child star in her late 20s), I would've thought that cigarettes would be the only thing they did have in common, so why not make it a theme for their wedding.
>>425 During the A:AoU press tour she said that she would love to star in a West End play.
>>425 Did you read the claims one poster made about multiple Twitter sightings (not the poss troll baity ones on the screencap)? Did you see any of those? They haven't surfaced on the bicycle, who has been onto this since the first tweet you mentioned, or on tumblr. I was wondering if you caught anything in your feed since you keep it to manageable levels due to all the blocking. No need for names etc
And - AND - there is a series of fascinating abusive tweets to TH just now posted on the bicycle (I assume it is the sugar rush from all the thanksgiving pies that has led to this flurry of activity all over the hiddlesphere).
Tweets abuse TH for shagging EO against his kitchen door and then having some kind of row in his garden. Very similar to a previous series of tweets when he was allegedly having it away with JA. I would take all of that with one ginormous pinch of salt except for a single solitary piece of local knowledge which I hereby bestow. There is a 1 bed lower ground and ground floor flat in that complex, with the same number as TH's house. It's a rental. I did wonder whether its current occupant is a light sleeper who does not appreciate being disturbed!
Wouldn't it be hilarious if real-life Tom was into romantic vanilla sex and not at all the wild kink monster the internet makes him out to be?
>>427 Well, in a way, she did (on a pap video). Maybe that's why they did the pap stroll. Now she can say she's performed in the West End! When she said it, did she wink (a secret signal to her British luver!)?
>>428 I've seen a few tweets about TH (all minus pics) - the Macy's bags one, a burger joint, a few malls, one girl who had him come into her place of work - a restaurant from what I could figure. Finally, there was one other EO one beside for the Marvel fan. It was not one of those mentioned in anon1's post (from what I can tell). It was from the Monday after the first one. TH wasn't mentioned, only she was.
>>429 FEEECCCKKKK. Up against a door!! TH, you go, boy!! However, kitchen door still resides firmly in the city limits of Vanilla Town.
I once got frisky against the remains of the Claudian aqueduct in the Italian countryside. Now, that's leaving Vanilla Town for Kinkyburgh.
>>428 It's probably for the better that she locked it. That's probably a dark, dark place.
>>429 Those tweets are strangely specific. 'Specific' very often rings my legit bells. I'm naive like that.
This is so dirty and juicy.
>>431 Depends on whether or not he knew the neighbors were watching. (Of course that's assuming the tweets were true, which I doubt.)
>>432 The CB person implied there was a lot more than that - seen holding hands etc. Oh it is all such fun speculating. They know how to keep us guessing. Who but EO could release a "she dumped him" leak and STILL have us playing he guessing game?
>>435 I don't know where it is in relation to his house or garden. But as I said it has the same number so presumably close. On a summer's evening with the windows open, in a small gated complex off the road, I bet you would hear quite easily. Also, if it is a basement flat with the same number it is probably a conversion. Those usually don't have great soundproofing.
>>430 I've found that a man tends to lift to the level of the woman he's with. If he's naturally vanilla but is with a woman who willing to get a little kinky, he'll happily oblige. So, if she - allegedly - wanted it up against a door, door it is.
>>439 There was a very similar series of tweets about him
having it away with JA a couple of years ago (different Twitter acct). That tweeter directly tweeted JA saying TH was using her. Though I do love the idea that she rents a flat in his basement and surfaces like Banquo whenever he bring a someone home. She and EO could share the odd cig...
>>440 Oddly enough my friend who went to Nuffield reported (on the basis of no evidence at all, natch) the very same impression. She remarked that he probably thought 2 seconds of cunnilingus was the dirtiest. Thing. Ever. Also that if you whispered "Shakespeare" in his ear at any point he would immediately orgasm. And then apologise a lot.
>>438 I'm surprised some wealthy fan hasn't tried to let it. There must be some serious vetting that goes into keeping the loons out.
'...bit of a knob' and '2 mins.' - I see what you did there, Anon, I see.
>>442 Remember from CP: he only does implied cunnilingus.
Well, yes, the word 'Shakespeare' would induce spontaneous orgasm. I'm assuming doing a Pacino impression - making him think he was De Niro in Heat - would have the same effect.
>>443 There we disagree. I think the anxiety to please translates into straight anxiety in bed and hair trigger trouble. I also don't think he actually gets that much. Evidence for this is the constant excitement boners at the age of 34. That I associate with much younger/less experienced men. They've usually learned to control it by that age.
PS aqueduct sex? Hot, hotty, hot!
Not sure what this means if anything, but those kitchen door sex tweets were sent almost three weeks after Purse Gate happened. EO was well out of London by then. The tweets reference the paparazzi incident, which makes the timing kind of strange.
>>447 The first set (aka door sex tweets) is from August 1st, so maybe a week after date night. That is a while after the fact to be bringing it up for the first time, however, the person who sent them in said that there were others that couldn't be screen captured. Maybe they were earlier?
>>446 Yeah, until you end up with mild brick rash on your palms and forearms.
Learn from my mistakes, ladies.
>>448 Good sleuthing skills. Although would you tweet the guilty party while he is actually on the job? I would have thought that reduces to zero any remote chance he might see them. Anyway, just a bit of fun - I would have consigned to the bin immediately were it not for the existence of the rental.
ISTL trailer has appeared. Shameless use of "TH cuddles newborn baby" paydirt. http://youtu.be/LiiuMiLfl_4
Fascinating how all those gossip mag articles and old "THEO" Twitter sightings just happened to surface in the days leading up to the ISTL trailer release. What a coincidence!
>>452 Anonsy I hadn't even had time to make that connection. I bow down and kiss your cynical feet!
Thanks for the laugh guys - your comments are hilarious - and for all the links; I haven't visited the Bicycle site for a long time and would've missed this gem.
To put my two cents in the whole discussion - I'm with Anon here. When I encounter those wild erotic fantasies about TH, it always makes me chuckle a bit, because I myself get a distinct impression that he's not a very sensual person by his nature. Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't see him as a virginal unicorn prince, but when his fans make up those scenarios where he's some kind of a sex-god, and a night with him becomes the best event of their lives ever - yeah, I don't think that's what happens IRL. For some reason I have a feeling that he is a person who connects more to other people on a friendly or an intellectual level.
I would tweet during the deed - knowing that TH might actually stop and look at the tweets! Or, going by your estimation, by the time the tweet reached him, he'd be done and enjoying a little post-coital social media-ing.
Anonsy knows the game! She is currently flicking the wool from her eyes. I love it!
>>456 I am spitting out my tea here!
It wasn't just my arms
Or, it wasn't just my arms?
Yeah, he does seem like one of those 'I want to make love...to your brain' type of guys.
>>457 So, straw poll!! Which do we prefer?
1) no relationship - it was all made up for publicity purposes.
2) genuine relationship - but it was exploited for publicity purpose.
>>459 You're carefully ignoring my "constant boner at 34" evidence. Which is fruity, I know, but scientific. When did you last go on a date with a guy whose constant and obtrusive and puppyishly excited boner translated into a 2 hour expert bonkfest?
The latter. My Italian boyfriend at the time got away scot-free - the bastard. I don't think it was the first time he'd tried such a stunt, though he never admitted it. It wouldn't surprise me if making whoopee on an ancient monument was an Italian right of passage.
Okay, maybe not two hours, but two minutes? Twenty, or ten - at least - if only because his sexy talk is probably in complete sentences, with multiple subordinate clauses - because he only knows how to talk in subordinate clauses!
>>463 I don't know. Perhaps I should enter - which is more than the puppyishly excited boner usually does, hahahaha.
Seriously, have you not seen this phenomenon lift the restaurant table opposite you in your younger days? In my experience it was usually attached to a sweet nerdy boy who wanted to talk me to death.
>>464 I could well believe the whole encounter would take more than 20 minutes. Perhaps it is a definitional thing - I don't count the sexy talk in what one might call the Sonny Corleone door time. That part I can well believe might only last 2 mins.
I genuinely think there was/is a little somethin-somethin going on. There was just so much smoke for there not to be a bit of fire. But relationships have so many different levels that it's hard to tell what the somethin-somethin was.
>>465 I went to an all girls school, and then I didn't have a serious relationship until I was 20 - and he was 27. So, thankfully, I missed some of the more puppyish years. And I've never seen one lift a table - those British boys!! :)
The people who make trailers must make BANK, because on the trailer alone you wouldn't think that this has a 27% rating on RT.
I think we know how a certain segment of the fandom is reacting to the love scene between TH and EO. His neighbor will be surprised to see them in a horizontal position - and with no door in sight.
>>469 Was this picture taken in Ikea?
(Tho actually ikea has been sending flat pack houses to refugee camps, so maybe...)
I am delighted to see the return of the grandad cardigan and that blue t shirt. I feel like equilibrium is restored :)
You know how sometimes you get caught in a vicious internet link maze - one link leads to another and another until you've wasted 30 minutes of your life? That just happened to me - the TH edition.
But look what I found...
That is bizarre, I have to say. I went in late January when the fan fever was said to ha e been well established and I didn't see a thing. I wasn't into him at that time but my friend was, and was well switched on to Internet madness surrounding him, and she would have pointed it out I'd have thought.
Looking back on it I was so bad. I was on the front row right by the shower and I was just ticked off that it was all so extra - this is the Donmar, why are they pandering etc. I didn't realise it was meant to be a great treat. Then in the robe of humility scene I said, probably horribly audibly, "he's wearing A JOCK STRAP under that robe" (which he was). I also failed to realise who had parked his big blue Jag in the almost empty car park near the theatre where I had parked, until much, much later, after I read how he had been forced to drive after people stalked him to the tube. I didn't see him while I was collecting my car, which is probably a good thing as I imagine he would have decked me for the jock strap remark.
>>460 I'm going with the 2nd one. I always had a feeling there was something really going on, even when they denied it, only we didn't know what exactly. It could definitely have been a FWB situation.
I think this pic looks like TH, but the TH that didn't become an actor, the one that became an IT or bank manager from Stoke-on-Trent.
So, I made the mistake of checking out his twitter tag (I know, no one to blame but myself, glutton for punishment, especially since he tweeted and that always brings out the worst in people!).
The tweets are even more ri-donk-a-donk than usual. But I'm going to help you compose your own perfect tweet to Mr. H.
In honour of this fine post I have devised a board specific Tom Hiddleston tweet generator.
TH looks like a mannequin in this one I think! https://www.instagram.com/p/-zRR8ZmQxy/
A beautiful mannequin (heart-eyes)! It's those Brezhnev eyebrows.
You just know GdT was buttoning up his shirt: 'No, no chest hair. We're saving that for the Blu-Ray release.'
'We're grown women with proper jobs and we're all here. What more do you want?' Truer words have never been spoken.
>>480 And the wild Romantic hair (heart eyes!). I'd so love to see him play the young Liszt.
>>481 "I firmly believe it clocks in at a solid ten [inches]."
My smut-o-meter just melted. I am sending you the bill.
TH dreams he gets an Oscar: http://youtu.be/u_iOTgLoru0
Helen - aged 88 - shares her opinion on TH and one night stands.
>>484 Oscars should just fly into a winner's hand like in that scene! It would make the ceremony bearable.
He's going to need to keep on dreaming...at least for a little while.
Speaking of awards...the BFI awards are on Sunday. Here's the nominee list for best actor.
Thoughts? Chances for ole TH?
>>483 Maybe he has some form of priapism and we're (mostly Anon and I) laughing at him. We'll feel terrible when he writes his autobiography and details his struggle with this affliction!!
It's not his fault! It's a condition!
>>488 I don't mock his condition! I am in awe of his condition! If he lived in ancient Pompeii we know he would have lived in the house with the terracotta willy sticking out of the front wall.
NSFW!! Ancient smut to follow:
TH's living room wall painting: http://i.imgur.com/meSZ2GG.jpg
>>490 I saw some of these in the Secret Room in the Naples Museum. There was a candelabra made entirely of willies and a 3 legged coffee table whose legs were willies; also a cup with a willy that became visible as you drank. I was surrounded by Serious German Academic Men (shorts, sandals, beards, biiiig cameras) and I was laughing so hard the tears rolled down my cheeks. They didn't laugh - but as my (now) husband pointed out, what possible inner kind of reaction were the Romans looking for with that coffee table? I wanted to take it away with me so badly!
>>487 So is Twitter full of alleged sightings of TH travelling to the UK for the award ceremony?! We need to know...!
>>493 No airport sightings. Sadly, I think that sort of journey is beyond even our little globetrotter.
Strangely, there were two sightings of him in Oregon. (Shrugs shoulders) Who knows!?!
>>494 I'm putting my money on mistaken identity for the Oregon sighting. I saw two tweets about it - one girl whose family member might have helped him in a store, and one that was in reference to the first tweet and not an actual sighting itself. Could be true, but it seems like a strange place for him to pop up.
>>495 I would agree...but maybe he and EO have a Portland love nest. All the big stars do...no they don't.
It's unlikely...but stranger things have happened with this guy.
Good God. Tom was filming till 5 am last night he can't be in Oregon.
>>497 May I ask how you know this? Not to dispute that he might not be in Oregon..
There is a person I know very well who is in production so that's how I know. Plus this logically if he is somewhere right now (not on set) is London, not Oregon.
I did however see this on tumblr this morning: http://enchantedbyhiddles.tumblr.com/post/134641691341/jerald-m-s-pang-jeraldmspang-twhiddleston.
The "6 December 8.30am" is when the blogger screen capped the tweet, not least because at the time of writing (9.55 6 December UK) it is not yet 6 December in HI. So when the original tweeter says "last night" he is referring to Friday night not Saturday night.
>>501 Yes,thats right. 8-35am ( 6.12) UK time is 8-35pm ( 5.12) in Hawaii, so "last night" is probably 4.12 ( Friday).
>>500 Didn't think you were that "Anon" - even Anon, can tell that anon a mile away..
Good for him wherever he is. Hope he is having a ball and enjoying himself with the ladies.
>>503 Yes I hope so too. Sounds like it is a fun shoot. Probably good to have the variety. This time last year on ISTL he was eating one lettuce leaf a day, smoking and getting a trifle intense. I personally would prefer laser tag and Maui!
>>496 I googled "Elizabeth Olsen Oregon" for shits and giggles and look what I found lmao :
Relationships and family are indeed very important to the Avengers: Age of Ultron actress. She's already thinking about having kids with Holbrook—though she's not sure where she'd want to raise them. "My mother would love it if I was in L.A. with kids," she said. "I loved growing up in L.A., but I always think about places I've never been to before, like Oregon."
This is going to be a long one, ladies. I apologize in advance.
>>507 wow. Sherlock. Wow. You surely have time to write "ridiculous long posts " dont you? I have an excuse - I'm on vacation and have nothing to do now, but what about you? Language girl, sure, you know things unlike me. I have a good laugh how you hate to admit I am right about THUNGS generally . I wasn't even going to prove that what I say is legit. Time will tell. Like it did about Olsen and Tom.
'...eating one lettuce leaf a day, smoking and getting a trifle intense.'
Just one reply, and then I'll ignore her. Scout's honor.
Ah so you have an exuze, good, good, I can sleep now.
I'm sorry to sound rude, but you need to see a specialist in mental disorders you know? All you say is such a crap that I ask my self why on earth I engaged in conversation with you. Eye roll. And when I say every thing I mean it. Including your language "studies". As I said, time will tell as it did already. And don't care if you believe me or not. Somebody asked, I answered. So go to hell language girl.
And as for my nationality, sorry, I'm Russian. All my knowledge comes from basic school knowledge. If you are that clever then you have to know thAt Russian system of education gives a basic knowledge that is far better then American. Language girl, lol lol. Please, I seriously ask you, read some books, please. You are even more stupid then I thought
>>507 All of this.
>>105 As Couch pointed out here, we know that Lex, cabbageanon and FakeAnon (as I shall call her) are the same person as all round Twitter and fandom favourite Firenbrenie. She initially insisted she wasn't but she's stopped denying it now. At >>297ff I described firenbrenie's Twitter description as hers and she didn't demur.
>>513 Thanks for confirming, finally, that you are Russian and were educated in the Russian system. Let's take a look at what you you said at >>311 (also using the name Anon and the ID RQNfBWIu). Oh, you were born and raised in London. This is like shooting fish in a barrel. You can't even keep your story straight on the same board. I think we all know which of you and Anon. is the stupid one.
And to think that Anon. was Lex's final and very patient apologist... But lo and behold, she managed to antagonize even her.
You do. When you look at yourself in the mirror.
You started first. I tried to be nice and wasn't insulting anyone. But hey why do I bother? You are dumb and there is no sense in talking to you.
>>517 The being nice and not insulting anyone part lasted about 5 posts into Pursegate before you started screaming at us and calling us over invested fangirls, issuing death threats to EO and telling us to "eat shit" on your Twitter. Don't try my patience and make me link back to all this. We all remember anyway because we didn't come down in the last shower.
>>514 It is all rather obvious, isn't it. I'm not surprised we weren't the only right-thinking individuals to notice.
West Wing quote...now THAT"S a mic drop!
>>516 Even my patience has it's breaking point (and I'm an oldest child with several younger siblings which basically means my middle name is Patience)...and I wrote it before morning coffee! So...reasons.
'...as the craziest person in all the TH fandom - after all, it's a title awarded from a very competitive field!'
>>518 Let's get out from under the bridge and talk about a really important topic: purses!
I'm thinking about replacing my T usting bag (bought in 2005 and still going strong, but starting to look a little shabby). Some of the stores around me have a few but not the one I want, so I'd need to order on-line. The exchange rate is unfavorable and then I'd need to fly it across an ocean (sorry, planet, sorry, ice shelf!).
This is more on CP's non-release in China. The author - like Anon - notes all the mentions of ghosts in Chinese literature and cinema. He thinks the sex scene (and incest theme) might have been a real reason CP wasn't released in China.
For those who want to watch the BIFA awards (I mistakenly called them the BFI - sorry), here is a link for a live stream:
>>522 I have lived in the UK all this time and I swear I have never heard of this brand. Ok, ok, I confess, I'm actually an agrophobic from Nebreaska, ya got me.
Seriously, they are so nice. The orange tote, drool drool. And the tweedy Vivienne Westwood type ones.
Nebreaska?! I am losing my mind. My excuse is that I have just been slut shamed by my mother over the phone for not making my own mince pies.
The bag website says they have a "vibrant" workforce. You have to buy one out of admiration for their unashamed butchery of the English language. Anyway, keeping your previous bag for 10 years? You're the most eco friendly person on the planet.
>>523 - in fairness that 2 second shot of the TH botty did cause tumblr to grind (haha!) to a halt for several weeks!
I agree though that they could easily have cut it, and the fraternal handjob shot, out of the movie had they wanted to. However, as demonstrated at ComicCon, the person with the biggest stiffie over the sex scenes was GDT himself, so I imagine he said no.
>>527 think of it on a price per wear: say 300 days per year x 10 years....
Also you NEED a bag for Margaret Thatcher impressions, date nights with TH etc.
And here are the IG and twitter accounts for BIFA - if you're more of a non-moving pictures sort of person
>>526 Not making your own mince pies!! You'll never snag TH as your second husband with those tarty ways.
TH expects that his mince pies will be made with your grandmother's WI pastry recipe and with mince you've made with peel from your organic garden's fruit. And don't forget the brandy you've distilled in your antique copper still.
>>524 Well according to tumblr Luke is there! Could of course be supporting another client. Watch this space.
>>524 Well according to tumblr Luke is there! Could of course be supporting another client. Watch this space.
Youtube live stream - working well.
>>533 Ooooo, good sign. But maybe for E. Watson. That seems to be his only other A/B+ lister.
>>531 Abel and Cole's home made mince pies are more expensive per pound than gold, but when dusted with icing sugar and served in a low lit room (!!!!!) nobody would know the difference, not even TH. I do actually make my own sloe gin (no joke) - one glass of that and he would have no chance.
Okay, even if TH doesn't show up, my day has been made by seeing Mrs. Purchase on the RC! I love Toast of London.
>>537 Gosh seeing people pose in front of the advertising boards makes you realise just how posed those pics are. To me they look more spontaneous when you see the photos.
>>535 maybe Luke is there to accept on his behalf if he wins! Secret looooooove!
Well, Ben Wheatley just confirmed there's no TH - in that he might need to given an acceptance speech for him.
Ben Wheatley is a hoot. He said that he takes these awards more seriously than in the past, and thus tries to stay sober during them! That's honesty.
'Also you NEED a bag for...date nights with TH etc.' I see what you did there - every girl needs a good sized purse to cover her face when out with TH.
>>541 did you try real sloe gin while you were in the UK? Most stuff you can buy in the US is synthetically flavoured, but the home made stuff, made with real sloes, is divine. Contrary to its name it is also fast acting!
>>541 I'm working, so no livestream BIFA for me, but I keep glancing at this board for diversion. And oh yeah, Domhnall Gleeson. I've noticed him after Ex Machina, prior to that he was absolutely off my radar.
Similar tastes in men (or actors)? Which is probably no wonder, since we're all here, on the TH board.
>>543 I'd never heard of this guy so I just googled him. Ooh no. Too much of the Weasley family in him for my taste!
By the way qaz, in light of earlier discussions, I should say that until you mentioned you were Lithuanian I had no idea!
>>544 I have a thing for redheads :)
That's really nice to hear from a native speaker, thanks! But I'm a translator currently, so I suppose that goes with the job.
>>543 qaz, when you get to a monitor of some sort, check out DG's acceptance speech for his father Brendan. LE didn't win for best supporting; he was actually HR's best bet according to those who'd seen the movie. Now I'm not so hopeful for TH :(. DG's speech was hilarious. Also, check him out in Frank - he's very good in that as well.
>>545 I like redheads too (Damian Lewis - and I have actually met him in our local coffee shop, as well as once almost running him over when he walked behind my car while I was reverse parking, tsk). Mr Gleeson looks like a very dear friend of mine who happens to be gay, so maybe my subconscious is saying don't go there. Human attraction is a funny thing. I often wonder how TH manages to push so many buttons, especially after sporting a number of dramatically different looks in the last 5 years.
>>542 The old Italian boyfriend - yes, he of aqueduct fame - used to make me sloe gin fizzes during the summer.
After a few, I'd agree to most anything (reference aqueduct story above). He would get the gin from Fortnum and Mason (I would hope that it was a legit concoction, given what he probably paid for it).
A few red headed pretties for my dear 4-ch friends!
Well, Tom won...Tom Hardy. Happily, he and his overly puckered mouth weren't there to collect it (frighten me.) Actually, DG collected it for him as well - so that was a win!
TH needs to do some twin work - that award bait.
>>548 It would be a lot closer. The UK bought stuff is I hope made with real sloes not with flavouring. But the magical thing about sloe gin (apart from its ability to make one consent cheerfully to things one might later regret, hence my intended usage of it on TH) is that it is easy and cheap to make yourself and the homemade stuff tastes so infinitely better than anything you could buy. Basically you find a sloe bush (the only hard part of the exercise), pick off a pound or so and take home. Wash, dry and then if feeling anally retentive, prick each sloe with a pin. Put in a jar with a bottle of gin and 6-8 ounces of sugar. Leave in a dark cupboard for a year. Drain off sloes and bottle. Shake occasionally to dissolve sugar and to feel involved in process. Any middle class English boy, incl TH, will have aunts, grannies and probably a mum who makes this stuff. It is as purple as a cardinal's robe and the older it is the better it gets, though leaving it more than a year and 1 day is the challenge.
Here's my fav of ginger Tom. It's also my favorite of his - many - hairdos. It's so fluffy and natural looking. It also makes him look young. I don't know if it's his natural curls brushed out - and without all the product he usually puts in - or if it's a last remnants of a straightening process with the curls just starting to come back.
>>546 Thanks, I will! I am at the monitor even now, just don't have much time to watch things, so tomorrow maybe.
And shhh, don't blow my cover. After all, it took some effort to come up with such a glamorous pretend place to live as Lithuania.
Once my latest batch of sloe-hypnol is ready I may go and hang around casa Hiddleston with a cocktail shaker and an illegal smile....
>>555 Well yeah, also that small detail.
And, I guess, first he should find out that I exist.
This doesn't make it anymore a thing that actually happened, but I thought I'd share.
>>558 Sounds like the same girl whose tweet I saw yesterday. I just really don't see why in the world he'd be in Oregon. The EO sightings being true would make more sense (disclaimer: I don't believe those either).
Honestly, in general, I don't think most Twitter sightings are real. There are a few Hawaii locals who just happen to keep running into Tom, and posting about it on Twitter every time - and every time they get more Twitter followers! One in particular I think did see him the first time but enjoyed all the attention, so they kept "seeing" him after that. Either that or they're coincidentally showing up in all of the places he's been hanging around - accidentally of course.
>>558 One more thing, I'm even less likely to believe someone who posts these things from an anonymous account.
>>559 I know who you are talking about! She was over the moon with the attention.
Mind you, if I met TH, I'd probably just stay standing where we'd met and not move in the hopes that he'd circle around again - because two times, same place, that's a date. And then I'd tweet it, and IG it and do a youtube vid.
Oh, Lord. I'd side-eye this, but I don't want to hurt my eyes.
>>562 The comments on the blind item are great: "I don't think he's gay, he's just really English."
I think this is new. Even if it's not, it's well worth a watch: http://letterslive.com/letter/all-this-i-did-without-you/
And another one from LL, this time featuring an Abe Lincoln impression. I'd be interested to know how good the accent is here. Sounded a trifle wobbly to me - but I formed the impression that the great man mighty have had a tot or two from the bottle before performing that night! http://letterslive.com/letter/all-the-ladies-like-whiskers/
'And you know what would happen in Dragonfly-Land if he ever came out before he got middle-aged and bald and they didn’t care anymore . . .'
>>566 He looks unfeasibly sexy in that jacket. And Not Tom. I do wish sometimes that he was a bit more left field in his clothing choices. He is so skinny he'd fit the sample sizes, and much prettier than most male catwalk models.
Ewwww. Still, there are a few ladies who'd pay good money to do this.
>>568 Er, OK. I just ordered a Chinese takeaway and now I am not quite so sure!
ps did every bloke working on CP have some kind of TH man crush?
HR's US distribution rights have been picked up. There is a God.
Not sure when the UK release date is - March?
Apparently, Kong: Shit Island has transformed a museum in HI into the 'Hotel Saigon.'
>>572 And here it is playing its part. Apparently originally off Reel Tours' Twitter but then deleted by him for some reason. A fancy pants evening party! http://808-anon.tumblr.com/post/134785002043/ancientfinnishgoddess-twh-news-reel-tours
Popped over to CB and nanny war is raging! CP was not a flop! ISTL not released yet so you can't call it a flop! Etc.
Apparently CP is saved by not having been quite such a turkey as Steve Jobs and that starred, y'know, Fassy, so TH has nothing to worry about. Stands to reason. Errrrr.....
Has the veranda burned down? What's the body count?
I think some people believe that it's almost sacrilege to speak ill of TH and his movies. Don't mention the words flop or failure or poor performance!! God forbid.
ISTL poster - tweet from the man himself.
>>576 The Pirate Fairy was a masterpiece of cinema! Tom should have won an Oscar for that performance. How dare you.
A, frankly, poor result in the beard department - but I would not kick him out of bed.
Here's TH telling us that he wants to explore our (collective) body - and then licking his lips afterward. The little fecker!
Right, wasn't it?!? What's wrong with me? How can I not see the genius.
>>576 It is very funny. CP is named one of Forbes' biggest flops, and yet...it was only the 15th biggest flop so it is a success! They should go into politics.
I did enjoy CP very much, although alive to its various faults, mostly because the set and TH looked so lush. However Pan's Labyrinth it was not. And for a movie on which, as you say, no marketing expense was spared, it did appallingly.
>>579 I hate him with this beard with a passion. I think possibly I am traumatised by the 1883 shoot (shirtless by yucca plant, white transparent leggings et al). In contrast to Hsntry IV in which I think he looks hawt.
>>581 I think (controversial viewpoint ahead) that he stumbles onto his good projects by accident. It doesn't take a genius to realise that the Henriad for BBC is likely to be ok; or that Ternce Davies directing a Rattigan play will probably work out. Other projects such as Marvel - well, at that stage in your career I imagine you take the chance irrespective of the script or the talent. When faced with a choice of new material, he does not necessarily know how to pick a good script. I was put in mind of his comments on ISTL (with a bit less slush) - not a wonderful, omen as we have heard that it was the script that let that project down.
>>582 TA = The Avengers? I just figured out THC = The Hollow Crown.
>>582 You're not thick, I actually went to IMDB to review his projects for this and had to go through the list twice to realise that TA = The Avengers. I need my morning coffee.
Since we're sharing favourite pics - I loved how he looked with longish blonde (or not so blonde) hair.
>>584 He still talks glowingly about ISTL's script - which is strange for the reason you point out.
He's well read - to say the least - he should be more sensitive to what is a good script and what is a stinker.
qaz, your first pic is from the 2012 BAFTAs - 2012 BAFTA Tom makes my panties smoke. Such an Adonis.
>>590 This was just after filming Henry IV I think - it is Hal hair. Do we think it is close to his natural colour - whatever that is? I was looking at his hair in Toronto etc and can't decide if he is dyeing it - there is more than a suspicion of highlights in some photos: http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/tom-hiddleston-attends-the-high-rise-photo-call-during-the-news-photo/488237884
On a totally non TH note (for once!) can I just say that tonight the hubby is away so I switched on the Apple TV and and it directed me towards Working Girl, which I haven't seen in maybe 20 years. What a great movie. Quite aside from being directed by Mike Nicholls and starring Harrison Ford when he was seriously hot, it features Alec Baldwin, Oliver Platt and Kevin Spacey in bit parts. I just looked it up on IMDb and it is 27 years old. Sheesh.
>>591 What? A chance to speculate on TH's hair color? Yeah, I'll take it on a Wednesday night!
I think his TNM (yep, another one) hair was highlighted - it's just too blonde. I think it was stripped and re-dyed after ISTL (No. 2) finished shooting. In that pic from his South Sudan trip in Feb. - it's just too blonde and brassy to be natural.
I like TA Loki more than Thor or TTDW Loki. He's just so thoroughly bad in TA - very little empathy or kindness, just a hot piece of revenge and hate and megalomania wrapped in leather.
>>594 damn right I love HIM. It's the Avengers I find tedious. The only one worth a damn is Tony Stark, with or without the magic suit. Otherwise we have: Captain America, a man who thinks he is a superhero because his mother kno
Argh! [rant continued unabated]
Knitted him a superhero suit; Black Widow, whose superhero quality is "I seduce you with my magical vagina and then break your neck", which I know we could ALL do if we wanted to; and the Jeremy Renner character, a man with a bow and arrow, god help us. When I see him I think of that scene where Indiana Jones watches some bloke do a huge sword waving display and then takes out his gun and shoots him. If it was just Tony and Loki duking it out it would have been so much better.
>>594 Dottie, you are so naughty with your acronyms. In your honour we should henceforth call Thor simply, T.
>>590 Then have you seen those? Two of my favourite gifs of him ever!
Well, whatever official governmental thoughts in China re incest themes in art, Torrilla does not share them, as she has uploaded a graphic gif of the fraternal hand job scene. Lucille's paw is more deeply buried in his groin than I recalled!
qaz, we don't talk about that first gif. WE DO NOT MENTION IT! And we certainly don't make me look at it...because...ugh...he's too...I hate you, Tom Hiddleston. I hate you!!
Fraternal hand job...paw...deeply buried...groin.
This is the first tweet that came up in TH's search:
>>603 Hee hee!
Slow tweet day in the TH tag, I guess (or it is if you have blocked the worst heart eyes offenders).
Okay, after some intense research (watching the gif for several minutes), am I the only one who thinks that's more of a 'thigh job?'
>>606 The off to the left theory would explain the strange positioning of his bum in the sex scene! http://lokiperfection.tumblr.com/post/131326626354/lokihiddleston-x
Now you learn something new every day. I never knew what a Charley horse was until now.
>>606 and yeah, I can attest: whenever I get "tea shoulder" TH drops by my place for a handjob and a shoulder snog. Haven't you seen my Instagram?
It probably helps that it's going to be set in Oz - easy commute for her.
>>609 Oooh, I wonder if she'll be the Enchantress. That could be interesting!
Also, the latest:
>>610 The Enquirer! I see it dates the split from 30.11.15 which is the date that the Star article appeared.
Cate Blanchett is great - though am I right that there has still been no official confirmation that TH will be in TR (I am on an acronym roll now, there is no stopping me..!!). Didn't it come from a comment from Mark Ruffalo or something?
I was just idly browsing Twitter, tumblr etc, thinking it was a slow news day for TH-related news and then I saw this!
1) over the phone - OW!
2) on the same day as his best friend died - double OW! (And if she didn't know her fiancé's best friend had died, does that make it worse or better?!)
I still think it's suspicious that Elizabeth Olsen broke off her engagement the same time Marc Abraham divorced his wife.
>>614 I didn't know that! I like your gossip! I had thought that MA was a long time divorcé for some reason.
Ruffalo did mention TH and being in T:R, and he's on the IMDB page. However, I wonder how large his part will be. He's meant to be in disguise, remember. We may see more of Anthony Hopkins doing a TH.
Do not compare my queen Arthy to that piece of celery EO. NEVER!
I'm afraid to wander into the veranda (CB comments).
I wonder if EO knew about this article coming out (perhaps the author would have contacted her for a quote or touched base with her reps.)?
Maybe the 'He ended it' and 'I want to focus on my career' and 'he's living it up big time in Hawaii with the hula girls while I'm trying to recover' are meant to garner some sympathy for EO.
Michael K at Dlisted...take it away.
Don't slip on the verandah and accidentally deliberately get pushed into the bayou. The owner of the verandah is screaming "I told you she broke up with Boyd before the US Weekly article! I told you!" (ie the Perfect Disney Prince doesn't do overlap). This somewhat overlooks the month of 6h rehearsals.
>>618 Yeah, you're right. The jarthy would have been giving TH a Lucille style seeing to while grinning into the camera.
>>621 I love Michael K and would divorce and remarry him without question, (were I part of his stated sexual preference group).
>>623 I love that she gets a definite article. I agree that she deserves a definite article.
>>626 If Michael K wakes up with a sexuality-changing head injury we'll know whodunnit!
Did you buy the bag, by the way?
I did! Went with the cream. I've sworn an oath to reduce my carbon footprint in the new year!
The EO and BH story has been picked up by the DM - front page - right under the headline story - of the online US version. Same place in the UK version, but hidden as the second story on the scroll bar.
>>629 Cream! You can use it at your wedding to Michael. So versatile ;)
Yeah, I've found that suspicious too. It also struck me as a little weird that she held his hand at TIFF then walked arms around each other later. But with Hiddleston, she covered her face immediately during pap night and had a freakout.
People magazine and E!Online has also picked up the Boyd and EO story. Oh boy, is it going to be the battle of the exes now? And is TH going to be a casualty in it?
>>633 AND Perez and JustJared.
Poor Tom - I don't type those words often. Maybe casualty is too strong, as I don't think - neither do I think you do - he's going to come limping out of this.
>>634 (previous 2 not me - or, I think, "our" Couch. Where are you, Couch Potato? We miss you!).
He must indeed be so happy to be hidden away in the land where nobody photographs you even when they see you with EO (allegedly)(heheh!). It hasn't exactly panned out as someone hoped when they started leaking like a sieve back in May. Though if true, the circumstances of the broken engagement do provide some rationale for leaking - try and manufacture a sense of a decent interval, because otherwise the breakup story is even worse. Over the phone on the day your friend died AND because I've been cheating. I can imagine that she might have wanted to get ahead of that story by controlling the PR.
>>634 BTW the comments on those articles are interesting. I know that anyone who comments on an Internet article is to a degree "invested" in the story (to use that hideous word). But they are perhaps less of the fandom than Celebitchy regulars or (gasp!) us, and without any of the truly exhaustive analysis in which we have engaged, they have concluded: the engagement ended because THEO were shagging on set; they then milked whatever was going on for all it was worth while ISTL looked like it might be a thing; now ISTL is a dead duck, so is the relationship. I would say that if this is the consensus outside the fandom, it has harmed TH's image.
>>635 Isn't funny that I didn't think it sounded like you and said as much in my response? I thought, Oh, she's been at the mince pies and Sherry. I'll check IDs more carefully.
No it isn't Couch Couch - she's a blue link.
>>636 It is a reasonable and logical conclusion, and thus the most likely one for those 'less invested' observers.
Whether THEO started during the engagement or very soon after it ended is unknown, but I think 'the chemistry' between EO and TH certainly played some part in the engagement coming to an end.
But I'm not going to fault EO or TH for that - not that they'd care! We've posted about this before: even if her engagement was rock solid when rehearsing and shooting started - she's only 25, her fiancé is a 1,000 miles away, she's filming emotional scenes with a charming, handsome man who can work a British accent AND a Southern one. Then, because the town's so small and the cast's so small, they're going to cafes together and spas together and everywhere else together. It was almost inevitable under those circumstances that she would start to wobble in her engagement.
>>636 It will be interesting to see how this pans out image wise.
The He's a Prince and Can Do No Wrong group will explain it all away in some fashion or another. They're floating down De Nile and they like it there. So his image won't change with them - they'll still hail Kong as a masterpiece when it hits theatres.
Forgot to add - I wonder how Luke's weekend is going?
>>641 Haha. I wonder if Tom is going to just keep him around forever regardless of whether or not he does his job well. I think this EO thing has been a minor catastrophe for Tom, and though I'm not a PR expert I feel like something should be done about it. I don't know what, but pretty much anything other than what is currently going on.
>>640 Watch this space.
I don't personally think it is inevitable or even likely that a relationship would falter in the circumstances you describe. Brie Larson is also young, a long way from her boyfriend, in the arms of the charming Mr H., and on a pretty much closed film set, which I imagine is an intense and bonding experience. Will she kick her fellow to the kerb for TH? I doubt it, unless the relationship already has issues. My own perspective is that the engagement breakup was a sign that things weren't meant to be, sooner or later, and if it wasn't TH it would probably have been somebody else. No blame for that, and it's probably for the best in the long run (if I had married the man I was with at 22....don't go there!).
I DARE someone to tweet a link to this page to Luke!!!
PS I will still heart eyes when I see his bare bottom in HR though!
>>643 True. But BL is - as we've mentioned - seems a lot more grounded, worldly and mature than EO. And I've seen BL's man - he's a musician, dark, scruffy - and drop dead gorgeous. Boyd is pretty much TH (similar color, build, features - just with a smaller forehead). It's like EO wanted to do a straight swap. Switch the one that's not there for the one who looks exactly like the other but is around/new and shiny.
>>645 Don't forget - according to the Asia producer for AMC - the bottom makes at least one appearance in TNM. Maybe more. Hell, maybe he Porky Pig-s it through the whole six parts!
A Tom snippet from Jason Mitchell's IG.
So, Sunday Topic:
What tattoo would TH get? Where?
>>646 We've tried to answer so often and always Epic Fail. But I think the May article in US Weekly came from one of them (probably her). Nobody on nw3 or the bicycle could confirm they had seen them together in London before then, and certainly there was no rumour in the press about them as a couple - in other words that info probably came from within. I imagine at that stage it had more to do with managing the messy engagement breakup than anything else. Then the sneaky from behind pic - that originated with the bicycle so I doubt they had anything to do with it.
In case you'd forgotten how blessed this boy was bone structure wise.
>>648 TH wearing an expression that says "my body is a temple and I am NOT getting a tattoo" !!
>>653 I can't imagine him with one either but...
>>654 He'll also need to alter his own face, because this one says more like 'JA nevermore', and I can't have that!
Oh, and on this whole mess of a thing with EO, BH, TH, etc. - meh... IDK.
I'm not turning this into a Domhnall Gleeson board - I promise, but this is for qaz.
>>656 Haha, thanks! His acceptance speech and comments in the article are really funny, and I'm glad he's OK after that taxi accident.
I've also watched his BIFA RC interview a few days ago (I just partly forgot to mention, and partly didn't want to 'litter' the TH thread with him). I like him :)
He still doesn't do it for me, but I forgive you both the hijack for the back tattoo suggestion and for the revelation that qaz is in fact the Jarthy.
Actually I am having another "I am Spartacus" moment. What if the Jarthy is trolling this board and she is one of us? Is she me (used to live in NW3)? Lex (TH will marry her one day)? Couch Potato (gone quiet, possibly because on extended paradise island vacation with her lover)?
I love tattoos too, on the right man (come over here, Idris). But on TH? He is so vanilla. It would be wrong. Marginally less wrong than him getting diverted to the piercing section of the tattoo parlour ("I'm sorry sir, but we're going to have to charge double on account of the size"). But still wrong. I so hope he doesn't now to peer pressure and get one.
In theory, Tom could have a hidden piercing in a certain specific area...
>>661 Nah, JA and EO always seemed to be walking normally. ;)
>>662 I checked his twitter feed - 1,700 - yep, he must have tweeted.
Of those 1,700 tweet, about 70% are screen caps of the shower scene.
Oh, twitter, I love you.
The other 30% are gifs of the squash game - or Thighmageddon as I'm calling it.
>>665 If he had a Prince Albert surely we would see it twinkling in this scene! Also he is probably uncircumcised, being British, and I am not clear that such things are really possible on an untampered-with one - a bit like wearing a large necklace under a turtleneck ;)
>>667 I knew a rugby player once with one - just as God made him too. He was always worried it would be 'interfered with' on the pitch!!
But TH with a PA? Chances seem low!
>>668 Did you - what's the appropriate phrase? - use this facility? I have never come across one but I would worry about it somehow catching on the inside. Eek.
PS speaking of fandom meltdowns, it is an article of faith among the US-based nannies that he must be circumcised, because how could the Perfect Disnwy Prince not be? I have seen numerous hilarious wailings of "But his parents were rich! He must have been done!". So our blind item must state, in the memorable words of Hunter S Thompson, that he has "a throbbing uncircumcised c*ck" (sorry for salty talk - and it's only Monday, folks!!)
You've got a little something on you...
No, I did not!! And I don't think I'd have the nerve to take advantage of such facilities. Brave woman indeed.
No me neither, though my married state precludes me ever trying now!
Sorry that makes no sense! "Being uncircumcised is such a dirty horror" etc
I can never decide if Town Bike is a victim of the infamous Tom Hiddleston tumblr catfishers or if she's just an expert troll.
>>675 Oh I remember that! She had a dick pic she had been sent by someone - which she censored! Why she assumed that was him, God only knows.
>>676 I kind of feel she is a bit of both. She has had at least one genuine piece of gossip (the pic of him with EO) and I am sure there were more. But she believed and published some of the catfish stuff too I think.
Blink and miss it TH.
A little snippet on Thor and cuts to/restructuring of the Australian arts budget.
>>679 Do I read it aright that they are cutting the arts budget and handing the cut out as a subsidy to Marvel? How enlightened!
>>678 I am glad to see TH's impression of Darth Vader is no better than anyone else's, including mine!
That's what I took away: '...as part of $52.5 million in cuts to the Arts and Communications, $47 million of which it will redirect to major Hollywood film studios for Thor and Alien sequels.'
>>682 He has to be full frontally naked in every scene and showing us his tattoos and piercings for it to be worth greasing Marvel with $47 mil of cash meant for the arts.
>>683 The way he's been showing his bum around...it's possible.
A TUT - or Tweet until Tortilla! Paint covered TH from Total Film.
Torrilla - Auto Correct!!!
He's FEELING it! We wouldn't expect anything else.
>>687 I love this! Please tell me he and his mate are doing Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand in No More Tears
Saw a random comment from nw3 on a tumblr post so I dropped by to have a look on a whim and she's back! Nothing of interest to report; she has just posted lots of sparring with all her anons, some of whom think she was responsible for Kitchen Door Tweet!
The boy filming. Doesn't look very 60s to me! http://iconosquare.com/p/1142614458684295252_20001681
Oooo. I don't know NW3 that well. By the time I was knee deep, she'd deleted her blog posts and flown the coop. Then she came back and it was fairly useless/uninteresting things. Then she went again.
>>692 She is a funny one. Started her blog supposedly as an "antidote" to the stories about TH being a cokehead and all around nasty guy. Supposedly she was the nw3anon who previously gave a few items to the bicycle, though the bicycle was never sure if it was the same person.
>>693 Interessante. However, refuting drug and Mr. Nasty claims in her position seems a useless endeavor. She's 'anon' and - at the very most - a close acquaintance (if she did meet members of his family and was on speaking terms with him). What type of insider info would she have to combat false claims? 'I've never seen him do a line of coke' - well, neither have I. 'I've never seen him kick a kitten' - yep, that's an affirmative from me, too. TH is 100% not a kitten kicker.
>>694 I think she has in truth long left such high ideals (cough) behind. The blog has for ages read like a low rent version of the bicycle. She publishes the anons accompanied by her own put-downs. And she talks to her little coterie of more or less malevolent fellow bloggers. It's a bit like Celebitchy, only they have ditched any pretence that there is a verandah over the seething crocodile pit. I haven't seen a piece of actual information worth a damn on there since about March. Even before then it had got pretty sparse, as she had finally tumbled to the fact that if by some remote possibility he read it, he might realise who she was if she said "I saw him today when he was leaving the cafe and I was coming in." Having hooked her followers in with some grain of truth she didn't need to reveal more. Nonetheless it has been amusing to watch the blog die and then be brought back to life. It has been speculated that she has a relative who genuinely is well known in theatre who told her to can it.
>>695 I remember that, Anon. Someone sent her an anon ask saying something to the effect of (paraphrasing) " if your aunt knew about this blog you would be in trouble.'
>>696 'if your aunt knew about this blog you would be in trouble...the theatre world is small.' (Sorry I got cut off at first.)
I haven't seen this before. Special effects short (spoilers!): http://youtu.be/3CLxzNX-xzc
This was recent, in Honolulu at a club called The Republik: https://www.instagram.com/p/_fDQ3VkSSu/?taken-by=kt_kloss
And this one, from the Hawaii wrap party: https://www.instagram.com/p/_fp7N5Oshe/?taken-by=erinelairmoriarty
At least 2 tumblrs have mentioned that maybe this blonde was the one people mistook for EO from reported sightings. Similar look so if you're not right in front her, it's possible to mistake her.
Looks like the first pic is from the wrap party too - the Reel Tours Twitter said the wrap party was going to be at that club (plus it's tagged wrap party). And I could totally see someone mistaking that blonde in the second pic for EO, especially as the jumping ghost in the laser tag photo lol.
I looked at her IMDB page, and she's not in Kong - so she wouldn't have been filming in Hawaii along with TH. But she is in Jessica Jones. I'm not watching it, but every other person on the planet seems to be, and I remember that November was 'Jessica Jones' month at my work; that's all everyone was talking about when it came out on Netflix. A Zimbio search says that the premiere was 11.17 in NYC. She was there. 'EO' was spotted (at least the only 'verifiable' spot) that weekend >>290 .
The only thing is, that THEO in Hawaii sighting tweet was on Nov 13, the reason I remember is because it was the same day as the Paris attacks so it could have very well been the blonde girl in the wrap party photo.
The sighting itself was supposedly the day before, on Nov 12th but not tweeted about until the following day. This was the tweet that one girl deleted because some crazy fan was yelling at her and calling her a liar and what have you.
On Nov. 12 TH had night shooting. It was Thursday. They had night shootings on Nov. 11 as well, and on 13th they were making day shooting. He couldn't be seen with EO or anybody else because he was FILMING. Get over the fact that the poster in Twitter indeed lied for having attention and deleted her tweet because she was cought on lies, or was seriously mistaken.
>>702 this blonde is working in Kong movie. It might not be in IMDB but she is.
>>704 on 13th on Novemeber TH had a day shooting, and then he and director and couple of other guys went to burger place next to place where they both lived. The blond could be this girl, but def. not EO.
>>702 In theatre? Which one Do you mean? His sister's are blondes. His cousins are all blondes. Just saying. He for sure isn't dating anyone.
Re: Nov 12th. Even if he was shooting the film at night, that doesn't mean that he couldn't be spotted during the day.
Well, they've finished filming in HI: photos of the wrap party. http://ancientfinnishgoddess.tumblr.com/post/135557131550/kong-skull-island-wrap-party-x-x
We await pap pics at the airport.
>He for sure isn't dating anyone.
How do you know? I have to ask because you seem so sure in your statement.
For some reason the page just updated and revealed that these had already been posted. Apols.
By the way Anons at 704 through 711 are not me and appear to be 2 different people.
>>715 take a chill pill. I am not saying I'm somebody else. I'm just trying to tell you what was going on in reality without any corporation theories.
*Conspiracy not corporation.
Cray fan: Firebrenie, Meekrat, and she had another name a while back in Twitter but I can't remember it now. She had a horse in her icon. She was the one who caused that girl to delete her tweet, yeah cray to the squared.
>>714 I meant officially dating. The fact that we all know.
>>718 ahem. I told her she was a liar because I knew he had night shooting that days and he couldn't be seen with EO.
Nooooo! The Anon at 702 is our own Anon-with-Dot (she always posts as Anon.) She is not to be confused with lex/Firenbrenie under any circumstances!
@715 Her old Twitter handle was "Apple Pie For Tom". I didn't know she was over here, she was over on lipstick alley not so long ago, under the user name JDunn. Had her on ignore over there.
Re: the wrap party pics, love it how he looks so tanned and relaxed. :) he looks good...
Oops sorry @702, I meant that "nevermind" for Firebrenie/ @710.
It's late, blurry eyes and all of that.
>>722 We know Firenbrenie of old. She has been posting here since the whole EO thing blew up in July, under a variety of names including Lex, cabbage anon, and now anon. If you'd like to know a little more about who she actually is (as opposed to who she claims to be on her Twitter) I suggest you read upthread at 500 onwards.
I feel like Britney: Oops, I did it again. I posted - what I thought was a perfectly reasonable - post, went to bed, and then board exploded without me. I'm not a troll...I don't think...honestly.
>>704 Hello, 705! Welcome. Generally, you'll find less drama here than on LSA (I lurk over there occasionally). It's a condensed board here, with sane, reasonable women. Your posts suggest you're sane and reasonable - so you'll fit in nicely.
>>704 >>705 I should have been more specific - I was referring to the weekend preceding the 17th (the premiere night), i.d., the time frame when EO was seen. If she's not in Kong, i think that there would have been no reason for her to be in HI that week/weekend preceding the JJ premiere. Also, before premieres, the press usually have access to the stars for interviews. I just think it is more likely that she was in NYC in the days before the premiere (when EO was supposedly spotted) rather than in HI mixing with people with whom she's not filming a movie.
>>714 She doesn't know. Nor does she know what's happening with the production. She likes to pretend she does, but she doesn't. Her 'insider information' is stuff she's taken from the internet (mostly twitter posts) and concocted in her own mind. The made up stuff is based on a reality that doesn't exist but she wants to exist, so TH can't be dating anyone because then he's not available to fall in love with and marry her.
>>722 Yep, JDunn over there, lex here. She posts on The Town Bycycle as well. She keeps popping up under various aliases. Wherever there is a THEO sighting to be refuted, or a twitter poster to be badgered or a blonde who needs to be called a slut - she'll be there.
>>720 And there we have it - as if we needed further proof. Remember there was a time when you denied being FirenBrenie?
Maybe writing down your lies, denials and false identities would help you to keep them straight.
Honestly I really have to admit i'm an idiot. I still try to talk to bitches that dont want to see further then their noses. Its more interesting to live in your Bitch Universe and pretend to be sane - yet gossiping about TH on anon board and creating crazy conspiracy theories then just to accept simple truth. you prefer to make up crazy things about me and beleiveing it and troll and insult me then just to accept that I'm right.
Forgot to add to my response: Yes, he does! Golden TH is so lovely. I know the nannies are gnashing their teeth and crying out about his skin and sun damage, but I don't care. I want golden TH all the time. And now that he's heading off to Oz, it's only going to get better.
Honey, I've been called worse things by saner people than you.
New, old, rehash?
And here's the IG pic of above.
>>732 He is so pretty when he is all golden and smily. I thought he had maybe had a facial before TIFF as he was (temporarily) much less lined, so maybe he has learned about using sunscreen.
>>735 How funny, he's tagged a fanpage! TH as far as I am aware is u tainted by the mischief of Instagram. Comment makes the pics look pretty recent. Wrap party? TH is wearing his special party, er, v-neck tshirt.
>>712 No airport pics or sightings from twitter - that I've seen. I was actually at SFO yesterday, and am close enough today. He would probably go through LAX, but maybe I should shoot over and do a courtesy call for one Mr. T. Hiddleston?
>>736 I'm never sure what people who complain/worry about his skin are on about. Yeah, he's got lines and some sun damage - he's 34! But otherwise, I think he has lovely skin. I've seen fan photos of him in really unflattering light and with no photoshop, and it's like he has NO PORES - NONE. I'm younger than he is and have a fairly good skin regime, and yet I'm fairly certain Jimmy Hoffa's going to be found in one of my pores someday.
>>739 I think it varies. I have definitely seen some recent pics where he has noticeable pores on his nose. And he gets spots but it tends to coincide with the end of filming (eg not great skin at the Evening Standard awards last year, and in some CP stills you can see he has spots). I always put that down to the makeup, which to judge by the CP behind the scenes stuff was pretty heavy. I have never thought he has bad skin though. Just charmingly normal.
A happy thought just struck me. If we have another EO sighting in HI, will we be able to call it Hawaii Five-EO?
What I wouldn't do to that nipple! (I'm in SF and my fiancé is all the way across the country - so I'm especially susceptible to TH's nipples!).
Someone on twitter just spotted 'Loki' at brunch...with EO.
But you can have brunch with a friend. Maybe they're each other's Secret Santa!
>>744 Promo for ISTL has to start soon, so I'm expecting plenty of THEO shenanigans over the next three months.
>>746 Hopefully, between canoodling and being cozy - they will have a meeting about their - frankly - piss poor PR.
@744 I saw that tweet too, let the fun begin :)
We all have dinner I mean lunch, riiiiight Lizzie.
Yeah, I mean people are going to think what they like, right? She's also meant to be dating CE and JR, and she's seen all the time with them too...oh, wait.
Maybe they needed to have a business brunch to discuss how far they're going to take this ridiculous PR mess. Or maybe Tom was putting his foot down about how her team has been using him in the press. Or maybe they had sex up against the restaurant door and then were hungry afterwards. Or it could always be a classic Twitter troll for attention.
In all seriousness though they're probably FWB, and that's not something you tell the press.
Maybe they should stop with the tabloid shenanigans and admit that they are dating/banging/playing naked Monopoly whatever and get it over with. They will continue to get spotted because omgosh Twitter is everywhere, it's a global monster!!! Lol.
>>750 Hahaha. It used to be the kitchen door, in his own home. Now it's the restaurant door in fancy LA. Hollywood and fame have changed him so much!
>>751 I would take odds on this, too. Which would make sense given their half-assed denial at TIFF. And, I don't blame him. He has needs, and a fellow celeb isn't going to go running to a tabloid about Two Minute Tom (still don't think it's only two minutes!).
Someone asked "Did it look like a date?" Response: "Sure did."
>>754 Well, given that there were doors around - as anonsy noted - romance would have been in the air!
>>753 Well, it looks like something other than just friends. And FWB, or something more that he totally denies seems to be what he does. The Jarthy was in his life when he said it was nothing to write home about, and for some time after (not just Bora Bora as they were spotted in a bookshop over the winter when he was doing Coriolanus, and leaving true theatre together during the run). Maybe all that weird body language at TIFF was that of someone who is profoundly uncomfortable about having his personal life scrutinised in any way. Makes it all the more odd that he has taken up with someone who obviously has blabbed to the press to a degree.
And "arms around eachother"....
Hope the paps get to them out in LA, will be hilarious to see them explain this when the film gets released in a few months. Rehash of TIFF:
I don't think either wants to admit to being FWB. It's not a scarlet letter, and probably common with celebs, but also not something you go public with.
It's hard to determine what's going on because there are so many variables. We have a control - it's his relationship with SF. Open, took her to RCs, posed with her for photos, kissed her, was affectionate towards her. Normal relationship.
>>726 Good evening, Anon. . I have only made it through 2 episodes - it's really intense and I don't want to become desensitized to the violence - so I'm trying to pace it out. I'll watch another tonight. As for the actress playing JJ, her face was familiar but I never saw any of the popular shows she was in (just checked her IMDB and there's a lot I've missed like Breaking Bad and the Gilmore Girls).
>>759 I think work is his girlfriend, thus everyone else is "nothing to write home about" and falls somewhere in the FWB/casual category.
>>758 I can see that it is a FWB (I don't see him wanting to move to LA or let her move in with him in London). I also see why they wouldn't admit it to the press. Telling the press you have a casual shag is like telling your mother if you are an ordinary unfamous person - opens the relationship up to all sorts of unnecessary scrutiny and unhelpful questions.
>>757 Oh, they'll explain it away (Luke's probably typing up a script now if they're caught!). They'll hope the fans buy it, and as insurance, TH will quote a Roman philosopher on Facebook.
It will be interesting if anything shows up on Just Jared. As I said during PGG - JJ is just a conduit for PR now. He doesn't do true gossip or unapproved pap photos. It's all very much wink-wink and arranged.
So, will lunch turn into dinner? Will some pap photos show up somewhere? Is so, the question - as it always has been - will be if they are trying to introduce/ manage a real relationship going public or if they are trying to rustle up some momentum for a movie that seems to be DOA.
>>762 Yeah, I think we've determined that he's not really walking the talk he's talking.
But, I would imagine that like most imperfect humans, when asked 'Are you dating?' he feels he can say 'no' and have it not be a lie if they are FWB.
Well that tweet of GDT's that he RT'ed recently had my eyes rolling back into my skull and then they started rolling off and down the street. I prefer the ee Cummings version but still the "to be yourself" quote when you are not being honest about yourself esp to the press makes you look unauthentic. It he had just said "no comment" and just continued on living his life it would have been fine.
>>764 Depends if the pap photos look staged. If they are caught unawares it could be option 3: FWB and trying unsuccessfully to stay under the radar.
By the way, that Guardian quote: “I have tried with all of my power for there not to be any inauthenticity,” he says. “There is no version of me presented to you that’s been created or is artificial. The people I’ve always respected have an integrity that is unassailable.”
Okay - I've got to go out to meet old high school friends. I'm totally going to go to the bathroom more than necessary to check on this developing important news story!!
Also, someone earlier mentioned Chris Evans - he did get papped with EO once, not long after the rumors about the two of them started. Seems to happen a lot with her...
>>771 Or maybe Tom stopped of to see some friends and do some work in LA for a couple days and Olly went ahead on a different route? Why does everything have to be a conspiracy?!
It's tumblr logic. Everything's an ill-conceived PR conspiracy.
>>772 Olly probably did go home via Seattle. Quicker or cheaper or he had friends in Seattle he wanted to see. He didn't say he was with TH - people just assumed. As for tweeting this as a decoy - everyone on here seems to agree that his PR team would have difficulty organising the proverbial piss up in a brewery, so the idea that they have the wit to do this defies belief!
God here is a weird thing. The person who asked for details about the sighting has deleted their account. Devastated by the news?!!!
>>775 Did a certain someone - cough, cough - get to them? You'd want to delete and start fresh if attacked by a big hammer of crazy.
Or... It was Luke planting like little Johnny Appleseed...Twitterseed? (tumblr conspiracy theory of the day).
>>774 They could organize a piss up - but after the fact the spin would start:
'Yes, we were at a brewery, but it wasn't a piss up. People are allowed to be in a brewery without there being a piss up!'
So .. just to be clear:
He has people he worked on in movies feeding info on his day to day activities to his more over-involved fans, whilst he was working in Hawaii..
>>777 No they didn't (and anyway they usually attack the OP). By the way I saw an absolute gem on the bicycle from someone who follows their (currently locked) Twitter account and apparently they were saying they were at BIFA and if TH won they were going to accept the award on his behalf.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if he WAS secretly married to JA this whole time? And EO was just a cover?
Sorry, I can't help it - talking about JA just makes me feel like I'm back in the good ol' days.
My two cents on THEO:
I think they got together while/after filming ISTL. But something happened around the end of July / August and they either split or took a break: they seemingly spent the whole month of August apart and they were acting quite distant at TIFF, even at the premiere when they did not know yet that ISTL was a flop. When asked about the relationship, they denied it since they were not together anymore. (Sidenote: EO might have held hands with MA to make TH jealous?)
>>781 Oh I do miss the Jarthy! She was thirsty, but oh how she so obviously enjoyed the drink. She would have found a way to get pics of her in Maui to us. "Let's just pose for the restaurant owner [grip of steel on wrist]"
Just Jared still going with "Halle Berry picks up wrapping paper" and "Gisele carries a hockey stick". I feel sure that with the high quality of these stories as soon as he has a THEO pic he will run with it!
>>782 I would agree. I think TIFF was their 'weekend with the parents.' You're a couple and you spend your first weekend with a set of parents, and you don't act like a 'normal' couple: you're not as affectionate, touchy-feely and you certainly don't bang because they're in the bedroom next door and you're in your childhood bed. It's all so uncomfortable. You feel very watched and evaluated.
>>784 Gisele carried a hockey stick!! Wow. I have got to read about this!
Yeah, this is what I mean, JJ is very sanitized now. I don't think TH and EO would show up there unless it was pre-planned/approved. JJ will give us Gisele with a hockey stick but won't publish her beach photos with her new chest or her and her sister in burkas sneaking into the plastic surgeon's office.
OT: I just heard Wham's 'Last Christmas' for the first time this season. It's now officially Christmas time.
This is from the official GQKorea IG account. I wonder if he'll get the cover in the GQ UK or US versions. I can't be bothered to search for this. Does anyone know offhand about those covers?
>>786 Well, they are keeping us guessing at any rate.
We were pretty sure with the body language at TIFF that it was a no, and I can kind of see that period being the "off again" time that anon1 suggested. Then happy times in Nashville! We do know that he seems most content with an on/off relationship as the JArthy kept going under for months then surfacing like Moby Dick (not sure why I am on the Herman Melville metaphors here)(was it the prosecco I was drinking while prepping a pre-Christmas dinner for friends? Surely not!!).
Awww, look at MW standing on a box - always need added height with TH - and in her slippers!
>>792 Whenever I see photos like that I think about how I'd have to stand on boxes all the time if I was ever in Hollywood movies. Just like Robert Downey Jr., lol.
I saw a tweet that reminded me of something... I remember reading that back when Avengers was filming, Tom and Scarlett Johansson went horseback riding together in California wine country or something like that. I think he was still with Susannah Fielding at the time, so it got me thinking about how he has a history of doing very date-like things with his female friends he's allegedly not dating.
>>793 I've never heard about it, but it's interesting if true. I only remember reading or hearing somewhere about her baking him muffins, or something, at her home while they were rehearsing.
Which only makes me think that it's probably quite a strain being an actor's SO, with them being away for a lot of time, all the chemistries with co-stars and 'intimate' family-like atmospheres at movie sets, etc. E.g., I'm not at all sure if I would be OK with my BF romantically horseback-riding with a beautiful colleague as a recreational activity, if I were SF.
New pictures of Tom at LAX departing for wherever (Torillia)...don't see an Olsen. Maybe she's just off camera hiding behind another purse??? Lol
He is such a creature of habit! These are so similar to last year's LAX photos that I had to look to check they were not from last year. They aren't - different bag and he has rung the changes by wearing a blue t shirt instead of his blue diaphanous shirt. Otherwise his outfit is identical even down to the guitar accessory. Has he turned into one of those men who takes his guitar everywhere and insists on playing it at parties?!!
>>793 You're right, there was a story - I think from TH himself - about going riding with SJ in NM. And he was dating SF during the entire Avengers shoot. And he's nothing but complimentary and tactile and affectionate with his female co-stars. I mean, the CP premiere with Jessica C - they looked like newlyweds.
Oh, qaz, I love you for your Christmas wish! Jane and Tom will always be my OTP - but you are definitely my second 'JA' and TH pairing.
>>796 Oh, you just know he's turned into That guy - think the guy on the stairs in the movie Animal House. He NEEDS to share his music with the world, read: EO. It's his Christmas gift.
Supposedly where he stayed in HI - https://mobile.twitter(.)com/reeltourshawaii/status/679182676796960768?s=09
>>801 yes that's the place, it fits with the photo Olly posted on instagram
>>802 YOU'RE BACK! This is more exciting than any tedious Theo sightings. We missed you!!
TH and High Rise nominated for Evening Standard film awards.
>>805 Do you follow Olly? His IG account is locked....
And yes, I followed the link to the other guy and wow! They are in lurve!! If we saw pics of THEO like that....(smacks own wrist)
>>805 Anon.! I will forever treasure your compliment about my English skills :)
>>804 I remember Sian - vaguely! I think being sandwiched between SF - a 'real gf' - and The JArthy meant that she was always going to be like the middle child and get very little attention. When I first joined the fandom and delved back into the TH archives, I totally skipped over all things Sian. Could not be bothered.
>>804 I hope you don't think we have gone too mad! (With the one exception of your and our favourite visitor, of course). Granted we have been dancing round the THEO bonfire, cackling and wearing antlers, I know, but in a self-aware way!
Some genius has identified that he is actually carrying the hoodie he was wearing in last year's LAX photos. I find it hilarious he has a Travelling Outfit.
>>809 the sepia IG filter, the one and only sign of true love!
>>812 haha, don't worry Anon, I know you guys enjoy exploring all possibilities because you love a good chat, but I read stuff at CB and some tumblr blogs and honestly their conclusions made no sense at all, very often contradicting the very thing they were trying to prove.
Is this 'new?' I've never seen it before - he looks so beardy. And his reflection in the glass is like a bizzaro TH.
>>815 the hair says to me Thor tour 2013. Also the jacket. Never seen him looking that beardy though.
There's been a Tom sighting in London. LAX pics must be from yesterday then, right? (If the sighting is legit, that is.)
Torrilla got them early morning UK time. I had assumed a time lag and that he had left LA some hours before she posted them. So he could easily be home. Should I drop by?!!!
>>818 Bring him his first - homemade - mince pie of the season! Ask him how lunch was on Sunday.
>>819 And a glass (or eight) of sloe gin. I like the way you're thinking, Dottie!
By the way, the last time I checked on the thread and I saw lex annoying you I asked the moderator if she could do something about it.
She eventually answered telling me that next time she causes trouble you can drop her a line at the spam deletion thread, it's the link I posted here >>3, and she will do something about it.
>>819 If you see an IG photo of him naked, tied to the bed and wearing one of those Alice bands with a pair of reindeer antlers, it's possible he may have let me in. Or that Olly was waiting for him on his return, hahahaha!
>>823 THAT'S why Olly went ahead to London on a different flight! He had to get Tom's holiday themed sex room ready!
>>823 Nooooo! Keep those special memories for the family photo album! If he let's you in and you have your filthy way with him - think 9 1/2 Weeks fridge scene but with mince pies and sloe gin and brussels sprouts! - then post a secret message in NATO alphabet. Maybe: Delta India Delta Hotel India Mike. (wink wink)
Here's the international ISTL trailer. I don't see that much difference. They've cut a lot out. Other than that, I'm going to assume that this trailer is international because it spells words like 'favourite' and 'colour' and replaces most Zs with Ss??
>>820 was this post "inspired" by a long rambling submission to the Teatime blog?
>>827 I don't venture over into that neighborhood. I went once and they were fighting about Idris Elba being a black James Bond and it was pretty ugly - worse than CB. I slowly backed away and haven't been back yet.
Did someone actually try to draw out info from the sun position in the pic? What? I made the joke in my post because you obviously can't tell anything significant from the sun in that pic.
>>828 I saw it at random on my tumblr dash. Our own resident troll has written another lengthy screed (including some remarks of other posters lifted direct from here) - but has also engaged in a detailed analysis of the time of the flight based on part on the sun in the pics. I read your post and was amused - serendipitous humour indeed!
She gets around, doesn't she. She went to a lot of time and effort to check flights and connections and put together an argument, but it's not a particularly convincing one. She could have just said that he's not seeing EO because he's seeing her. That's her belief, right?
Found this at CB, no link was given mayeb someone else can find it, consider it my Xmas gift.
Someone on tumblr that attended Brie Larsons Q&A for Room at Santa Monica Aero Theatre on Monday said that Brie during the Q&A also talked about Skull and about having lunch with TH on Sunday.
Actually I have multiple gifts, there's this post on fb
>>833 We'd all be so lucky to have lunch with BL! She bought one of those Chinese head sprout things that they're wearing and threw a picture of it up on her IG. I've got a bit of a crush, really.
I'm going to throw my hands up on trying to figure this one out. EO, BL, neither, both, booty call, business lunch, PR pow-wow - I have no idea, so time's up.
>>832 Yeah, the only reason to read her posts - anywhere - is for 'amusement' or to tally an inaccuracy count. If you're looking for reasonable or coherent in your arguments - look elsewhere.
>>836 I can't cope with this "maybe it was Brie." My brain is about to explode, and that was before I looked at brunch guy's twitter feed and saw - well, a lot of things that weren't really SFW.
I love Brie! She is funny and smart and a tomboy and doesn't take herself too seriously. I wonder does TH ever look at EO "I read a book once", smelling of fags and hiding her face in her handbag like she is an A list celebrity, and think, "I am shagging the wrong blonde" ?
On another note, I am off to see Kenneth Branagh in The Winter's Tale. Last time I was in the same theatre as him we were both watching TH in Coriolanus (there was a very luvvy one man standing ovation from Our Ken). I therefore have high, if illogical, hopes that TH will be in the audience leading a standing ovation for KB.
>>839 That's so awesome! Crossing my fingers for you.
Merry christmas everybody!
Merry Christmas everyone, here's a little news as my last gift
"Radio Times magazine, #TheNightManager is due to air in the UK in February."
Merry Christmas all! Let there be cakes and ale for everybody.
I too am about to disappear, into a land where there is no wifi and no computer (his parents; they are ancient) and where there is wifi but it is always switched off in case the Internet leaks out into the streets (my parents; they are bonkers).
Merry Christmas everyone! Here is a newly posted photo of prosthetic-faced Tom.
No-one ever seems to consider the possibility that the general public are pretty rubbish at identifying actors, and misidentify them half the time. There's loads of pictures out there of people with 'celebs' that are actually just random people that look vaguely like someone famous. And every famous actor will tell you stories of being mistaken for a different famous actor.
>>847 or maybe gayporndude got it deliberately wrong :) - by the way, how can 2 right-handed people eat with arm-around-each-other? lol And is the sex that bad that instead of spending the few hours before he leave in bed they are out eating? lol
Alleged EO spotted in the Tube: https://twitter. com/staceybartlett/status/682543783083388928
>>849 Hmmm. Will await with interest whether the bicycle's little friends produce a photo of them together in Belsize Park.
EO on the subway? Was she following a Dior purse and got lost?
The assumption here of course is that TH is also in London, and he didn't pick her up with his jag? Or sent his car? Or a cab? He forced her to use the tube!
>>851 lol re Dior purse...
As I said, I will await an actual pic on this one (or multiple sightings). It seems odd she didn't take a cab, I agree. But I doubt he would collect her - only a saint would drive around central London on NYE - and as to using his driver, well he didn't on pap night either, which still mystifies me!
Oh! - also, TH was allegedly spotted in Oxford - alone. No idea which day it was this week. I don't remember which tumblr had that info , which I read yesterday, but it probably will show up in an anon on the bike.
>>852 I'd think the tube would be quite the nightmare for someone like EO, used to rich people and private cars and on NYE.
(he used his jag on papnight, Torrilla posted that photo of his getting on his car, clear sign the man wasn't thinking clearly, he was on a cab and still called for his driver to go back home)
>>854 He did use his car, you're right. I thought it was bizarre he didn't get it to pick them both up. Cuts out all that waiting and "which is our cab" nonsense.
I'd rather use a cab than the tube any day - especially with London on a high terrorist alert. However if a lot of people are thinking the same, waiting for a cab may be a less preferable option than blending into a fast-moving crowd. Also he uses the tube - and did on the way to pap night according to Twitter - so maybe he has shown her where to go. His house is very close to a tube station and there is no doubt it would be quicker than driving on a night like this.
>>851 He forced her to use the tube, AND it was 8 in the morning! So early! What a terrible boyfriend.
Placing bets that they become engaged in the new year...
Oh yes please the fandom reaction would be so beautiful: "but they denied it, they did, Tom would never lie oh no he's a Disney prince who poops rainbows".
>>859 Ugh that would be awful. I'm all in favor of celebrities maintaining privacy, and I understand that sometimes the truth is manipulated for PR purposes, but I'd even be annoyed if it came out that they were in a serious relationship and had out and out lied about it. They both explicitly denied being in a relationship at TIFF, when they could have just as easily given a "no comment" or not discussed it. The speculation was going to continue regardless, so it didn't really matter what they said either way.
>>860 I totally agree with all of this. The Queen's approve to PR was much maligned in the 2000s, but "never explain, never apologise" has a lot going for it as an honest but not revealing approach.
He can do much better than her ... Happy New Year!
It's nearly midnight here so I am going to sign off and go and drink champagne and watch some fireworks. Happy New Year everybody! See you all in 2016 xxx
Sad that I missed all the excitement on NYE. We got back home just in time to celebrate at JFK - in the ever romantic setting of baggage claim.
I don't know what's going on, and I'm too over this pairing to speculate. Fan wise, I've been ridden hard and put away wet. I's is done. I will await picture proof (get on it townbycycle!).
I will second anonsy's sentiments. I would hope he'd be less Bill Clinton-esque in his approach to answering questions 'honestly.' But maybe he now thinks that this 'truth through strict definition' is the only way to protect his privacy/ image.
>>859 Hahahah. When I checked on here and saw the bumper of new posts, I'd thought he HAD got engaged.
Okay, now on to some real business.
Some TNM bits from the Beeb's latest advert. This is from tumblr via twitter, but maybe someone had a youtube link:
Finally, I don't know what's happening here (I haven't read the book), but it's just awkward enough to bring me joy.
>>864 'Fan wise, I've been ridden hard and put away wet.'
Anon., you've expressed my alcohol-soaked feelings re: TH and this entire shenanigans like no one else. Cheers!
>>864 Perfection. We missed you over the holiday. Happy New Year!
>>870 Thanks. I missed you all. And I should have added: 'And get the egg timer - the girls on the message boards want to know exact times!'
>>869 If TH, EO or any of their PR team knew that what-what, they'd be pumping out pics like this. Because THIS is a pairing I can get behind. THIS is a pairing I want to see in a movie. THIS is a pairing I want married and riding off into the sunset together:
>>871 I heart them so much. I saw PS play Mark Antony in Ant&Cleo a few years back, and boy he was hot! I feel IM would have made a better and sexier Cleopatra than the actual actress who played her, who was wooden. They did Godot together but I missed it :(
>>824 I just read that one. I'd love to see a (fantasy) pic of that. #drunkposting
Twitter sighing and video of Tom in a restaurant, didn't see EO but then again maybe Tom got her a bigger purse to hide behind for Christmas.
>>874 HA! Based on all the Twitter sightings it seems like he was alone, or at least not with EO. Apparently someone followed him out of the restaurant for an autograph too.
what happened to the good habit of posting links around here? Anarchy! :)
Some restaurant in Hampstead..
>>877 thank you, I'm notoriously bad at finding things on twitter
>>879 Ah, video gone (according to the teatime blog). NW3 (for what it is worth, take with large pinch of salt etc) says she has been out and about a lot and hasn't seen EO.
>>880 yep it's gone, didn't think to post the direct link to the video that one stays even if the tweet gets deleted, same with photos.
Courtesy of Olly's new BFF:
>>881 It will show up somewhere - twitter (again), tumblr or IG - just give it some time. The internet likes to hold onto things.
>>882 Is he really hanging out with his PA and with the PA of (??) the director? Now I understand the attraction of spending time with EO...
>>884 I think this was an old pic (from karaoke in HI) but just posted today. But, as we've all seen, Olly seems to be his date of choice.
@880 Huge truckloads of salt where NW3 s concerned as she's lied about EO being seen around Belsize Park before.
The video was pulled down, interesting.
I don't think she lies.
If we accept that EO is in the photo, than it's sure that she was in the area. The photo was taken on Haverstock Hill, very close to his house. It can be verified on google maps.
>>888 Those are the pics from last summer (July?) that were posted on the Town Bike tumblr the week of Pap Night.
>>889 If you look at the date the tweet was made in July 15.
>>890 Thanks, I knew the pics were old news but I didn't think to look at the date on the tweet... it's been a long day, lol.
I first saw them on twitter but they were on many sites. They were made on the 20th or 21rst of july 2015, two days before the dinner at the Wolseley. Tt is possible that the photo was taken in front of the house near his place.
This is my observation. I only used the photo and google maps for comparision
>>892 I don't think anyone on here disputes that the girl in the pic is EO or that the pic was taken on Haverstock Hill (certainly not me, as I lived on a street just off H Hill for 10 years or so!).
However on here we tend to be most interested in new stuff - and we post it pretty promptly as there are some very good sleuths hereabouts! Those pics were posted here back in July. When you posted a link to pics of THEO in Belsize Park most of us probably scurried to the link hoping for a pic taken yesterday!
I think the poster was trying to prove that the nw3 blogger is reliable by posting those photos. Or at least I hope that was her intent, otherwise I don't see the point of posting photos that are 1 and a half year old.
Duh! I see what they mean now. Thanks. First day back at work so I have brain freeze.
I know. I only wanted to say that NW3 dind't lie about the fact that EO was in Belsize Park, and I bbrought arguments with that picture. The fact that NW3 has other sins that can not be contested is another thing.
I don't know if nw3 posted the pictures and I don't know if he saw them in the area. But if he sad he saw them, then he was right.
>>896 The photos weren't taken by the nw3 blogger, but by an anonymous person who sent them to the townbycycle, then someone took them from there and sold them to the Dailymail. They were taken in July.
The sighting the nw3 blogger talked about back in May when the first article about a possible hook-up appeared, referred to the end of Jan/beginning of February. No photos exist of those.
@897 OK. Thank you for the information. I didn't know about the sighting from the begining of the year. I actually don't follow their blogs. I just recently entered to see why they were so contested....
@888, I was talking about things that happened with NW3 long before that sneaky pic of THEO was taken. She started to lie about EO NOT being seen in Belsize park because I don't think she liked being questioned about seeing her anymore.
>>899 And why would you think she has seen EO these past days? Why would you think EO was even in the area? Based on what exactly?
NW3 isn't the only one who lives in NW3.
>>901 and sharing now what you know would mean committing treason?
>>899 There we differ as I think she never saw EO at all in Jan/Feb and in reality had no more idea than anyone else who he was seeing. When the story came out about THEO she lied about having previously seen EO to give herself credibility.
@899 I got it. But I don't get why nw3 doesn't want to be interrogated about what is happening in her area. She wants to play and test the reactions? She has too much time to lose?
It's to much for me. I give up.....
Employee from the Donmar mentioned speaking to TH on Saturday. He was probs just there for some 'theatre' (pronounced in a fancy, dramatic way), but I'll keep my fingers crossed for some post-Thor III stage work.
>>906 She's in marketing - as opposed to someone more junior, say at the ticket office, etc. - so I'm going to allow myself to dream/hope big.
A few tweets coming in about HR interviews - seems he's still in London and doing some media.
Sooo, War and Peace just started on BBC1. It's six parts - I think - which would take their 'major' Sunday night programing up to Feb 7.
Do we think they'd launch into TNM the next week? I'm hoping so, as then we can 'honestly' say that we spent Valentine's with TH (even if just via tumblr gif set).
>>909 I like your thinking! Auntie Beeb's programming has little logic though. They put Mad Men on at 2am on a Tuesday or something ridiculous.
This tumblr always seems to get the goods first. She was the one that had the HR reel first (though she was then asked to take it down).
>>911 You beat me to that link. TH writes the way he talks during interviews - long, expository sentences. Remember his written interview with Natalie Portman 3 years ago? This TNM article is better.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts on his way to Australia to start shooting again. Is TH filming this segment, or will he be joining them in a few days? https://www.instagram.com/p/BAIo0oDgDXM/
I would think TH - as the lead - will be involved with the Oz shot.
But before, I think he's getting in some TNM (hence the tweet and article) and HR (interview tweets) promo work. Same with Brie (we're totes on a first name basis) and Jason Mitchell who are both working the January awards circuit. I would think the director would be on the ground first, followed (shortly) by the actors.
>>914 Oh I can't wait for all the "sightings" of EO in Australia, especially the ones that happen when she's at an event on the other side of the globe. In case anyone is wondering, the latest tumblr THEO nonsense is that someone posted a scan of magazine pic from the October BFI gala of Tom Hiddleston sitting next to Anna Friel, cropped out the names in the caption, and said it was an exclusive photo of Tom with EO at a NYE party. Someone called them out on it pretty quickly, but still... people are trying to stir up trouble.
>>916 Oh, that is too good. Really? Please link it, PLEASE.
I'm going to do a mock up of them at an altar getting married by an alien priest. President Obama will be a groomsman, and a giant scarf will be maid of honor.
>>917 Don't forget the customary Olsen Wedding Bowls of Cigarettes, otherwise it won't be believable.
Here is a reblog of the original post by lokilovie (which is now deleted):
>>919 I think my grammar's going due to sugar deprivation. Qualified! The priest!
Okay, Anna Friel totally looks like EO (in that picture).
Guys...Tom is dating Anna Friel!!! She was in HI, she was on the tube NYE. After EO dumped him, he sought solace in AF's arms.
>>921 He totally didn't! All this time he has been in the sex dungeon with me and the reindeer antlers. I did let him out briefly to buy more mince pies (now on sale!) but he naughtily went to that restaurant on his own.
>>919 Michael K calls Bendydick Cumberpatch the Lizard King. I think that about sums it up perfectly.
BC will NOT be invited to my maniped wedding. The guest list only includes the POTUS, the giant scarf, bowls of cigs and the alien priest.
>>923 Since we're in Photoshop land can you add in William Shakespeare as some kind of baldy beardy bridesmaid? A wedding wouldn't be complete without a rumour about the groom secretly fancying a bridesmaid and TH wouldn't look longingly over his shoulder at anyone else.
Update on the theatre (again, said in a fancy and dramatic way). Seems he was just there to see the show. He was alone and stopped into the box office to talk with the staff during the interval.
I'm not going to cry for him, Argentina, but I think this is a little sad. Dude shouldn't have to go to the theatre alone and then stop off in the box office for company.
>>925 >>926 maybe EO makes him feel even more lonely, didn't Crowell nicknamed it Mr Lonesomelot while filming ISTL? Hardly the impression you'd get if someone were happily hooking up with his co-star.
Here's a screencap from that 10 seconds vine video of him at restaurant that was deleted, which in truth sums up the whole video. I'm only posting the link to the image not to the owner instagram page.
>>927 Oh, I'd forgotten that nickname. Coach, don't make feel bad for the scamp - I'll hold back when taking him to task!! ;)
Short sleeves in January: what, is he being heated by some internal rage? It's not like he has any natural insulation.
HR twitter account says 'official trailer' will be released tomorrow (1/7).
A nice Thursday treat.
>>928 Remember this is his Outfit (with or without black turned up collar jacket) worn on a very cold March for Letters Live, then in July for Sneaky Pic, then in Toronto. He will probably be wearing the same thing in boiling heat in Oz!
LAX, the op says a few hours ago
AMC is doing its TCA in pasadena and on Friday they are presenting TNM, according to Variety only Hugh Laurie was in attendance but it could be old info.
"VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has said that the Kong: Skull Island film crew has completed its survey in Vietnam to start shooting the film in Vietnam in February."
>>932 This article is brilliant! "The Lord of Giant Gibbons" "Starring Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson"
>>931 Haha! Nw3anon said yesterday that "from what I gather I think they go [to Australia] next week" - as usual, uninformed but she hopes plausible speculation dressed up as insider knowledge.
>>935 people would totally pack the cinema with this title, at the very least to understand what the movie is about.
But lucky for us, since this is a period film, that means TH won't be in the Godzilla vs Kong disaster.
Article about Thor 3 http://screenrant.com/thor-3-cosmic-earth/
I know here we already pointed how Loki is impersonating Odin so likely there'll be more Hopkins than TH, but the addition of Ruffalo to the story in his bromance journey with Thor, the fact that Ruffalo knew more about the script and director than TH, Hemsworth and Feige latest on this film, makes me think that Chris is taking back ownership of this franchise by moving the spotlight away from Loki and that Feige agrees with that.
>>931 London--> Brisbane via LAX?
The scenic route definitely ... or one that I would take only if I had a week of engagements in LA.
>>938 If he is attending AMC's TCA for the TNM there was no choice. Or maybe production organised a flight for all the actors, Samuel L. Jackson also landed today in LA.
>>939 Sam Jackson lives somewhere in America though ... not likely to take an eastward scenic detour through to Oz via Dubai ...
I assume that he has stuff to do in LA. Promotional stuff. For Reasons.
>>942 Repeatedly posting as couch ...
Because: Name left blank.
Another one from the same girl
direct link to the photos, slightly larger.
>>941 that's my point, TH is the only one on the other side of the pond, Samuel L. Jackson says they are all back on set on Monday, so given that Brie is doing her award campaign, it makes sense to gather them all in one place on one flight. All the more if TH is going to attend the AMC even, even if unannounced.
More from David Marti: https://www.instagram.com/p/BAPZzJxmQ2e/
I think it depends on flying conditions and paths and so on, but as I understand it, the time difference between 'via LAX' and 'via Dubai/Singapore' is only a few hours. The jet stream really does help coming westward across the Atlantic.
>>937 We did mention this, as you said. At the time, I - and I think others - was all for TH weening himself off Loki and the Marvel franchise. He's had some teething problems with the last few non-Marvel movies, but if he doesn't make the break soon, then he might end up being known as 'the guy that played Loki.'
>>949 But CH hasn't escaped because he can't act. When I saw Thor I thought he was pretending to be a knuckleheaded blonde beefcake confused by the world around him. After a time I realised that he is a knuckle-headed blonde beefcake confused by the world around him.
Just been examining the Torrilla screen caps, for science. That's a very lowcut magazine he's wearing.
>>947 I have such high hopes for this movie at this point that I am almost afraid to be disappointed. So far it seems right up my alley and I can't wait. I've read the book and I quite liked it (not to the point where I would be screaming 'masterpiece' though) but this seems even better.
>>950 Oh, yeah, I agree. CH is never going to have critical acclaim, I don't think. I think he got closest with Rush, but critics praised the movie as a whole more than his performance. Still, he's not even managed to find commercial success outside of Marval - they've all been stinkers/box office poison.
>>954 I think an English degree turns one into an unutterable pervert. Or ot does if you do it right.
A collage from IG. Recognize anyone?
So, we've got the answers to at least one question:
Was she in HI? Yes.
>>958 But it's her.
I'm never right about these things but... I feel as if they've dodged and denied because of the timing, i.d., the end of her engagement. She doesn't want to be accused of having an affair, and TH doesn't want to be seen as 'the other man' who broke up an engagement.
I can't really tell because I'm on mobile but is it definitely EO and not Erin Moriarty, actress who was at the wrap party and looks a lot like EO?
>>960 Definitely her on the top left pic. Not sure about the one on the top right. That might be the other girl who looks a bit like her, though the pics are so tiny it is hard to tell. But she is definitely in some of the pics and if that is from the wrap party that says to me, girlfriend. You don't bring someone to a work "do" unless they are what a friend at my work charmingly calls a "non transient other."
>>962 Okay I've been looking at pics from HI and this collage is from the laser tag night - everyone is wearing the same clothes. Which means it WAS EO jumping up behind Tom in the gray jacket, which can be seen in the top right photo of the collage. Guess there was a photo booth at the laser tag place.
>>961 That's definitely EO. Besides, Jordan Vogt-Roberts follows Moriarty on instagram, so he would have tagged her too in the pic if that was her.
>>963 Ooh good sleuthing skilz! I was looking at TH clothes which is moronic I know as TH only has one tshirt, doubtless chiselled off him by mum over the Christmas hols for a good wash. When was that? At the time she was seen in HI or at another time?
>>958 No, I was being serious! You've read the book, you commented on the book. While I'm here like: pretty pictures, naked TH, sex scenes!! You were completely high-brow.
>>965 Marc Evan Jackson posted his laser tag photo on 11.21. The sighting was the weekend of the Paris attacks, so 11.13/14.
TH only showed up in a few of the laser tag photos that went around. He wasn't in every laser tag photo because he was off tagging EO!
I agree, definitely her. Maybe OP feels the compulsion to just deny deny deny and hope that then it goes away :)
Sooo.. I too wonder if she gets to become someone to write home about, at least at some point.
>>965 I think most of the EO sightings were within a few days of laser tag, so she must have been in Hawaii that week.
I'm still putting my money on FWB but we'll see. Whatever level of relationship JA was, I think this is the same - maybe slightly less as of now. He brought her to a few events, went on a tropical holiday with her, said he was single... same old same old.
>>968 Just to be clear - I wasn't talking about the original poster Jordan Vogt-Roberts of course, but about that lady from the link saying it's not EO.
>>970 Jordan VR appears to be deleting comments asking if that is EO (according to the teatime blog). That says to me pretty clearly that it is (as if we needed any confirmation)
Poor JVR! I wonder if it's going to be a tense set now that the director maybe spilled the beans on his star's secret luver.
>>971 I think that person may have been comparing the comments on JVR's post and the fan repost. All comments about EO have been on the fan repost, but I haven't seen any on JVR's post appear or disappear.
>>969 Oh, she'll pop up at the townbycycle. I predict a long letter with insider knowledge from her friends and people who know the truth.
Either way - everyone that jumped down her throat owes that girl on twitter an apology!
>>972 One hears JVR has the emotional intelligence of a peanut so I am not surprised he has let the cat out of the bag. If there really was a cat. We did think she was probably in HI (or all of us except one...!) and as anonsy has demonstrated this photo dates from then. Not a return visit for the wrap party.
>>975 Oh, Jarthy. I never thought I'd miss you, but here I am.
>>975 Me too. She would have rocked pap night. Blow job in the cab while somehow still wearing that Cheshire Cat grin!
>>975 Oh, she is GOING to show up in Australia. She's already got the tickets booked. Hell, when's Australian fashion week - that's the perfect excuse!
As you said - the thirst is strong. And, remember, you can't let the man you turfed out your fiancé for get away without a fight...to the death! She's going to be white-knuckling this one.
>>978 whispers I confess I secretly kinda liked her, and especially to watch her efforts to escape the obscurity TH put her into. sigh Good times.
And that's the only confession any of the churches are ever getting from me.
Okay, I've got to go food shopping - the cupboard is bare!
If I come back to their marriage license posted on IG, I'm just going to shrug my shoulders!
What a shit show.
One more and then I'll go get food.
>>980 Yes, qaz!! He totally put baby in a corner when he should have been Dirty Dancing with her.
>>980 What's up with that bold font! Meh, I really need to read those instructions for posting on this board someday.
And I'm off to bed. I've already stayed too late out of the excitement for this development, lol.
Putting on my tin foil hat for a minute... has anyone noticed that every time some THEO nonsense happens it coincides with some film promotion or damage control for one of them?
Update: Jordan Vogt Roberts is indeed deleting comments about EO on his Instagram post. It's getting pretty vile over there.
>>975 I said back when I said it, July or August that there were a lot of similarities with JA, except that EO has not only the money but 3 times the ego because she has a name, she is prettier, she is an actress.
(the post above was mine)
It certainly is strange to fly to Hawaii for the weekend and spend it with the film crew at a laser tag game. It doesn't smell of gf exactly.
>>989 The comments at JVR are like ours over the last 7 months (less eloquent and witty obviously). "Why lie"; "I never know about this relationship till they brought it to the centre" and (my favourite for its pithiness) "just makes them both look inauthentic, fake, silly and guilty." None of this would matter particularly if TH weren't obsessed with telling us all how authentic he is in his public persona.
>>991 I agree with that, my point was that TH was on set from Monday to Friday so if you can only spend 2 days with your gf after not seeing her from some weeks, maybe you don't go straight to a laser tag game with the film crew. But it's a personal opinion of course.
Well. LAX makes sense now.
Ok, this might turn into an exclusive for you guys, so back in November SLJ posted a photo of him on set with Miyavi (the Japanese actor in Jolie's Unbroken), I thought it strange since he wasn't announced as part of the cast but today he posted a photo at Brisbane airport https://www.instagram.com/p/BAQgqw6yWuf/ so maybe he is also in the film.
>>991 I don't think Tom is particularly social media savvy. I'm sure he knows that people will take pictures and post them on the internet, but I don't think he necessarily considers how much people post and that his coworkers or director might think nothing of throwing a bunch of pics up on Instagram that he expected to stay private. Tom may have thought he was being discreet.
>>995 After Tahiti and Papnight you'd think he'd know.
Either he isn't as intelligent as people would have us believe, or since it truly looks like EO is following him around trying to escape obscurity, like qaz put and the photos certainly support that, it may be it was her last attempt at something more than friend - whether she succeeded it's left to be seen.
JOrdan Vogt-Roberts took down the the photo.
Not that it matters since it's everywhere on the internet but maybe this way the media won't be able to make an article on it?

>>997 Wow, what a mess. I'm thinking he probably took it down because of all the fighting in the comments. It's still up on another Instagram related to Kong so it was likely that rather than Tom asking him to remove it. No crazy comments on other Kong person's post as of now, so it'll be interesting to see if they leave it up. I hesitate to post their name so as not to direct any fandom wars in their direction... you never know who's reading this board.
>>999 Could he have close the comments? Not an instagram expert.
Anyway it's the middle of the night in LA so unless TH got a call from Luke I doubt he was up to see this mess. He will, because one of the twitter fan account he follows tweeted it, as it did a twitter fan account for EO.
