Thread to talk about the actor Tom Hiddleston
I take it all back, the question was nuts. Though the main complaint seemed to be the rambling "I love you" intro which is a feature of many q&a, I would have thought.
TNM arrival and red carpet
>>2 Ugh. I'm not even going to click through and watch/read. I'm going to pretend it never happened, yeah, if I don't read about it, it's like it never happened.
>>4 if you stay away from that report Whatsinaname posted and just watched the video, it's very funny, Hugh made fun of her in a very comical way.
>>5 I still haven't watched the video; does it show the whole rambling question or just the answer?
>>5 I still haven't watched the video; does it show the whole rambling question or just the answer?
Sorry for the double, my phone connection was dodgy. How do I have it removed?
BERLINALE red carpet
>>9 well well well. She sure has her share of detractors on Tomblr. She defended the poorly behaved fans outside the Donmar for Coriolanus and has gotten into nasty name-calling threads with posters.
>>11 should serve as lesson to be more wary of these tumblr bloggers.
By the way, I didn't find this myself, it was posted at the teatime blog.
The Guardian interview with Susanne Bier
>>11 >>12 She is the one in that first tumblr link I posted (about him appearing at Berlinale) who said she NEEDED to know if he was definitely going to be there as she was going to drop everything and fly from London to Berlin if he was. When I saw someone asked the scratching question I nearly jokingly posted that maybe it was her. How right I was. She is a right oddball. But there are some bloggers who are normal and have good info.
>>14 I didn't make the connection, but I can't say anything surprise me very much at this point, beanup, frenchy, the bycycle, his fans are just plain crazy.
>>15 There is an apologia pro vita sua on her tumblr page which makes toe-curling reading. She thinks TH wanted to hear the question and Hugh Laurie rained on her parade. What it tends to suggest is that Hugh Laurie is a very good judge of character who knew where this was going in 5 words.
>>16 She lives in her own little world, doesn't she? But then that's always the case with these types, it's never their fault, TH is obviously always in agreement with them, it's other people that keeps him from saying so.
John Le Carrè writes about TNM,
It's never a good thing when the crazy fans are more vocal and visible than the sane ones. Sadly, the loons always seem to be front and center so often, especially in his fandom.
Here we were thinking that we all knew - too well - who the most infamous TH fan was, but now there's a new contender for wonkiest egg in the basket. Sigh.
>>16 I tried to read it, couldn't. I'll try again later.
The need for an apologia, especially one of that ridiculous length, suggests she's getting it in the neck big time from the online community. Good. I'd like to think HL's reaction - and the reaction of those on Tumblr and Twitter - would be a lesson, but I wouldn't put money on it.
>>20 She is one of the ones I was thinking about when I said at the tail end of the last board that the superfans love to take the others to task for disrespecting his art by joking about the Hiddleconda. This particular individual is one of the chief offenders. I think she intended the question as some very earnest question about character in Unrelated but failed to see that a q&a about a different project 10 years later is not the time (or indeed to appreciate that the people who joke online about the Conda have the self-control to realise that if they meet him they shouldn't ask for measurements).
That fan in question is insane and she has a long sorted history in the TH fandom.
Bit of background: a few years ago she defended several fans who were accused of harassing Tom and chasing him down the street after Coriolanus. She is fond of the term "fan shaming" and used it against those who were calling these out of control fans out. I am finding it unbelievable that people on tumblr are defending her for what happened several days and putting Hugh Laurie on blast instead. Yes because her question about Unrelated was the most important thing of all at a film Q&A for a The Night Manager and how dare Hugh call her out on her out about her ridiculous question.
I was the one who just posted that, not sure why it's marked "couch potato".
>>23 There is a nice and normal tumblr person called enchanted by hiddles who lives in Berlin and went along. She said it was mortifying, but that HL was actually trying to be kind by deflecting away from the crazy.
The most revealing thing was the comment by the culprit that the q&a was "my big chance". I have come across this phenomenon before. My mother in law bought a white outfit for my wedding day (no. I wasn't Bridezilla, truly, but just no) and when I called this into question she said in an incredibly hurt voice, "But it's MY BIG DAY."
When will rabid fans get it through their heads that they're Not. Special. Snowflakes. Who deserve attention from celebs whenever they please...arrgh!
Would they have got it if someone had asked a question starting "when you played Loki, did you....?" There seems to be a misconception that because she asked a stupid question about an arty farty film that was ok.
Ah well. I would say I have a lot of sympathy for her as she is now being surrounded by all the other tumblr wingnuts with their flaming torches, aniyuer aspect of the fandom that I hate. However she has been the ringleader in that behaviour previously so I can't muster up much sympathy.
>>25 it's the board, it names anyone Couch Potato when you don't give a name.
>>28 one girl did it at the q&a for OLLA in Toronto in 2013, I seem to remember people giggled there too, but the girl didn't press. TH told later in an interview that the girl apoligised to him in person after the q&a.
>>26 '...said it was mortifying, but that HL was actually trying to be kind by deflecting away from the crazy.'
Undoubtedly true, but Miss Unrelated can't blame herself (fan perfection) or TH (delicate and understanding artiste whose huge dong we must not mention), so HL it is!
>>26 'My mother in law bought a white outfit for my wedding day.'
That's when you send in your maid of honor - and you send her in like a Sherman tank. You don't even touch that, you pass it along to your hard-nosed, enforcer MOH. It's the only true and valuable lesson I've learned from wedding prep.
>>27 Never. Poor TH. Maybe the sun isn't responsible for those wrinkles. Maybe it's dealing with his less-than-stable fans that's aging him.
>>32 My MIL and a Sherman tank could easily be confused with one another, even in daylight. I made my husband deal with it. Along with their request that we not leave the wedding reception for our hotel until we had hailed them a black cab.
I didn't even realize a new thread had started because the last one got full. And here I am checking the link everyday and thinking "hmm it's so quiet but so many pics and vids came out!" The flu has officially short circuited my brain.
>>35 Adored only child of elderly parents, no daughter to fuss over and be mother of the bride to. You can see that she might be a trifle invested in the day. After some years of marriage, I can laugh about it. At the time I wanted to go after her with the steak knives off our gift list, believe me.
Anyway, away from bridal politics and onto a more important topic. Since TNM isn't coming out in the US for another 5 years or something, are you Stateside peeps watching it on Iplayer via a proxy server? Or is anybody waiting? I seriously don't want to ruin anybody's fun with unintended spoilers.
>>37 I have methods that have worked with overseas shows in the past so I should be able to watch it within a day of airing. There's no way I'm waiting until April.
If anyone is saving themselves for AMC I may have to employ Anon's patent spoiler-free weekly review:
>>39 We could always start a new thread specifically for TNM. That way we could have intense discussions about TH'S exact level of bum exposure without worrying about spoilers.
>>37 i'll be doing the same thing as anonsy. I can't remember the AMC U.S. start date but I'm not waiting that long. Tumblr Spoliers helped kill nearly every surprise in Crimson Peak, so I'm not going to let that happen again.
>>37 I'll be watching it live off the BBC (usingway away eoblockergay). The boy is working Sunday, so I'll be able to fangirl alone.
If enough people will be waiting, we could always use the 'Tim Hoddleston' thread to have spoiler-filled discussions. Those wanting/needing to wait could just not pop in. The Night Manager, starring Tim Hoddleston.
Tim Hoddleston may have landed in Vietnam!! Tim Hoddleston!
>>42 I love the idea of using the Hoddleston thread. Poor bastard wants us to talk to him and tell him what we love about TH. He won't know what hit him!
Qaz is in Lithuania and Couch is in - well, heaven I guess. NewAnon - are you rebelling against AMC's schedule also? N8 is hanging in North London near me, anonymous is (I think!) UK based and who else do we have? M, anon1 - I always miss someone from the list.
>>43 Tim Hoddleston! Star of Kong King: Skall Islund and The Naght Minager!
>>45 Anon and other Brits will appreciate: As Jenathon Peen in The Naughty Minge
Oh, Lord, now I want a porn version of TNM. I want it NOW.
>>47 I have learned the word "minge" today, thanks to you and Urban Dictionary.
He makes my minge want to be naughty.
Gifts? A branch? Maybe a local custom? My global IQ only extends to NATO countries.
>>44 I don't really mind spoilers in general so I won't mind any TNM spoilers. Even if it's in a separate thread, I'll still lurk and read them hehehe
The Vietnam airport pics! He looks so cute in them. Something about his face is so delightfully and adorably boyish whenever he's happy or excited.
>>44 heaven has the best reception :) Couch will use the underground world of the internet to watch the TNM.
Little reminder guys, do no post links to download the tvshow.
>>50 It's cherry blossom. It's more or less the lunar new year and Hanoi is renowned for its blossoms. I don't think handing them out is a thing, just that someone gave him some. The other thing he is holding is a traditional Vietnamese hat.
>>52 "Thou shalt not post download links." A Holy Commandment from our Couch Potato in Heaven. If we disobey, the 4-ch gods will smite us and ban our IPs for all eternity. And so it is written in the Forum Warning at the Top of the Page. Amen.
>>52 Don't worry, I had not forgotten this. Although I am in the happy position of being able to watch it legally. Payback time for getting the first series of Game of Thrones almost a year after it came out!
"Tom Hiddleston tries to sneak into Vietnam under the name Sam Long Fellow. Just in time for the 10:30 press event http://news.zing.vn/Loki-da-co-mat-o-Ha-Noi-de-hop-bao-King-Kong-post628131.html"
>>54 I agree.
My country has shown no signs so far of ever airing it (which surprises me a bit), so I sure am going to catch a livestream.
There's some video of the press conference here: http://m.soha.vn/giai-tri/loki-gay-an-tuong-khi-tu-tin-noi-tieng-viet-20160221143520407.htm
>>57 Presumably the whole sneak in in under another name ruse worked amazingly well until passport control!
#Tom Hiddleston# goes for a walk alongside a friend at the Bebelplatz in Berlin, Germany. 2016.2.19
>>62 Will you be watching live by one means or another? x
>>65 I didn't know you can get the live stream other than in the UK. Good news.
It sounds like most of us are watching live or aren't fussed about spoilers (except qaz who hasn't checked in yet). Is everyone happy with usinthis thread to discuss the bum count etc?
>>54 I recognize the conical hat now that a better pic has been posted. And the cherry blossom, too - in the fuzzy black and white pic it just looked like a branch! Which, given his fans, wouldn't be strange.
It can also be watched outside the UK.
I have been watching it live online on bbc one for more than 5 years.
In Romania, it will be broadcasted starting with february 22 on amc but my provider doesn't broadcast AMC :(
So, do we have a consensus regarding spoilers?
It seems as if the impromptu roll call suggests most people will be seeing it tonight or very soon after. So, do we need to employ the Tim Hoddleston thread?
T minus 2.5h. My poor husband has not yet made the connection between "Who's Tom Hiddleston?" and TNM. He loved Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (the tv version with Alec Guiness) and has been eagerly awaiting this new adaptation. Little does he know that he has signed up for one hour of spy drama and one hour of wife drooling over love rival...!!!!
>>31 By the way, the currency of Vietnam is the dong, so confusion may reign notwithstanding we aren't meant to mention certain things!
>>73 Did you by chance see The Big Quiz of the Year? Bad dong!
>>74 No, alas (though I do love Jimmy Carr). I have visited Vietnam and the name of the currency provided far too much puerile amusement to me and my hubby.
>>75 Bad dong was a running joke on last year's show - courtesy of Greg Davies.
Given TH's sometimes - all the time - immature sense of humor, I bet he's loving every minute of exchanging his dollars/euros (Christ, he's been around) for dongs.
>>76 I hope he is running around Hanoi with a million dong note saying "look at my enormous dong".
BTW did you see Torrilla's bromance pic of Olly and the other assistant sitting on the floor at the press conference with their heads on each other's shoulders?
My review - by the numbers:
Number of awesome opening sequences: 1
Number of slightly slow paced episodes: 1
>>78 One love scene - but one where we see his O face. Win-win. A+.
If anyone cares here is EO hiking in LA with a friend. Caption on my phone says "3 days ago" - Friday? https://www.instagram.com/p/BB88q8KgiTc/
Hello! I returned from deepest Cornwall back to London late last night so missed the TNM airing live, but caught up on it this morning. I really enjoyed it.
Will watch again this evening with my husband as he hadn't see it but I couldn't wait until tonight. Happy to chat on this thread but will try not to be too spoilery.
>>84 Oh crap, that was me again. Sorry. It's so frustrating that it does that!
That's the episode I want to see. How does he get so dirty to need to take a shower?
>>82 PS re spoilers. I think the straw poll suggested that most people were watching it live by one means or another - defiance to AMC and its crapulous schedules! Anyway the consensus is it's ok to chat here and that it won't cause upset.
On a totally unrelated and slightly heartless note, Torrilla has a video of TH speaking Vietnamese at the press conference. It is so bad that the tv station has put subtitles on it translating his Vietnamese into Vietnamese!
>>79 Did we? I completely missed it - must've blinked (yes, it's that quick!).
>>80 It was clunky, you're not wrong. Exposition in books needs to be turned into dialogue/action in movies/tv shows, and I don't think they did enough of that with the Pine/Sophie relationship, which is far more fleshed out (pun intended!) in the book.
>>89 Here it is, Dottie! http://lokihiddleston.tumblr.com/post/139749532787/a-real-snake
>>81 Girl, why aren't you wearing an 'Australia' or 'Vietnam' shirt? Come on, give us fans a little Arthy! Arthy us!
>>91 For that reason, although I know what you mean about it being too slow, it also in some ways felt strangely rushed. One of the brilliant things about the 1970s/80s adaptations was that they were unafraid of doing "nothing" from a plot perspective and using vignettes to build character. They drew them all so brilliantly that by episode 2 you feel like you have known them for ages. Also Ian Richardson as Bill Haydon. That man invented the meaning of the words heart eyes. He was utterly gorgeous.
>>93 I am beginning to think she hasn't been there and got the t shirt. Her appearances on that other girl's Twitter make a cheeky island paradise birthday/ late Valentine holiday hard to reconcile with what we know of his movements. Not impossible, but hard.
>>92 Ohhhh, to use a space shuttle metaphor, I took that moment to be 'entry' not 'landing.'
>>96 I have no idea - but research (!) indicates that the open mouthed, no tongue kiss may be a TH thing not a character thing (it's appeared in several places now).
>>95 No, I don't think she has either, but the only way she can un-beige herself in my eyes is to follow the teachings of the one, the only...Arthy.
This is my favourite part of that scene: http://whovianfloozy.tumblr.com/post/139755535423/i-think-well-all-have-smutty-sweet-dreams
>>99 But like this for example: http://hiddlesnlondon.tumblr.com/post/137367482745/lokihiddleston-this-day-had-to-come-weve
>>94 I feel like those days are gone. Audiences today just don't seem to want the build up. I mean the near-opening scenes in this adaption were riots with explosions and gun fire.
>>103 The pilot of Mad Men? But I agree the Beeb thinks they are gone. The first episode was wearing all its designer handbags on the same arm.
By the way in the opening scene I am pretty sure he is wearing his new watch and the shirt seen in the Australian chef's picture. I cannot imagine in a $35m drama they visited his home and asked him to contribute his own costumes. It looks like he has, as previously, tried to have off with costume items. They probably thought, "poor baby, he only has one shirt and one pair of trousers and that plastic watch. We'll pretend we didn't notice."
Tom travels again. I think this is the trip from Hanoi to Halong Bay: http://lokihiddleston.tumblr.com/post/139749532787/a-real-snake
Some set pics. Reeltours has a few more of helicopters and stuff.
Looking at some photos with TH movies I realized that most love scenes are with women that are older than him :)
Close up of biceps. People's ingenuity amazes me.
>>111 How many are there? Before TNM (20 seconds!!!) it was just DBS and CP, right? I wouldn't count the bed scene in OLLA as a 'love scene' - more a 'resting naked scene.'
I think we've been short changed sex scene wise. HR will add to the tally by all accounts. Do we think SI will have any romance? >>112 Even Kong wouldn't be able to resist that body. ;)
>>113 There was a flirtation in Unrelated I suppose....though very definitely not sex with her.
Is Sienna Miller older?
>>113 Maybe that's the hidden plot twist of Skull Island they're being so hush-hush about. Tom Hiddleston and King Kong, star-crossed lovers. Then they'll walk the red carpet together and Tom will take Kong on a tropical holiday.
>>115 No, Kong, no! Going with TH to a tropical island is the mob equivalent of going fishing with Fredo. Don't.
Kong, avoid tropical islands, photo booths and stay the fuck off twitter and IG.
It's probably safe to say that if Tom takes his current squeeze to a tropical island, the end is nigh. Enjoy that good bye bang, that breakup sex because it's the last you'll be seeing of the Hiddles.
High Rise and the love scenes with Jed have Tom sexing up younger women. There's also the I Saw the Light love scenes which have younger women in them. But these are recent developments. Its been mostly actresses older than him that he's done sex scenes with.
>>117 Going fishing with Fredo - gave me a proper laugh. Love it.
In which Tom Hiddleston wears every item of casual clothing he owns: http://news.zing.vn/Luc-khong-dong-phim-sao-King-Kong-lam-gi-o-Quang-Binh-post629142.html
>>113 ny love scenes i not only meand the sex scenes but all scenes that involve romance, in what concers "Only lovers left alive", I think that Tilda Swinton saw more of Tom Hiddleston than Aura Atika saw in "The night manager". There certainly was underwear under the sheet. :))
>>121 He was wearing white boxers in the love scene in TNM. Who knew he owned underwear.
"I bet this ends with a shot of Hiddleston's bare bum. And you know what - it does."
>>123 LOL. I don't think he'll sign a contract for a film unless they promise him a naked bum scene.
>>123 Nice bum; One day he may grace us with a full frontal, a la Fassy in "Shame." Not holding my breath.
>>122 I must have missed them. He has been photographed with underwear showing at least twice that I can remember. On my phone now so I can't find and link; one looked like boxer briefs, the other looked like traditional boxers.
>>126 I doubt it too. I am sure he is internet savvy enough to know that gifs if his bum are all over the Internet forever. If I were him I would want to retain some privacy. Personally I am not sure I want it waving to me every time I look at tumblr. It spoils the mystique rather.
>>128 agreed. Some things are just better left to the imagination. Let the fantasies thrive instead of trying to get too much realism in.
Celebitchy did an Elizabeth Olsen post where they poke fun at her and Tom over her praise for Tom and his ISTL performance. We'll probably more posts like this when the ISTL promo picks up next month. Maybe not from proper media sources but from the Internet and fans and posters in general: http://www.celebitchy.com/472835/elizabeth_olsen_tom_hiddleston_nailed_his_portrayal_of_hank_williams/
>>129 Sadly I'm looking forward to ISTL being over. I said this in a previous thread that though I wasn't too interested in HW I'd have watched to see Tom's performance, but after all the THEO drama I don't want to see the film at all. It really turned me off.
I feel like I want to do a THEO-themed drinking game for their ISTL interviews.
Take a shot when:
>>130 I know what you mean. Country isn't my thing but I was mildly interested in watching it for Tom. Now, I really could care less since all that talk about putting his heart and soul and hard work into Hank now just seems like hot air because it just looks like he spent that time wooing his engaged costar.
>>133 From the photos I saw of MA and EO, plus fan encounters, sightings, and the all important "body language," I think all of the internet would have been 100% sure they were a couple if it hadn't been for the THEO rumors and the age difference.
>>134 How many shots do we do when Tom talks in a southern accent? Or when he compares HW to Shakespeare?
>>135 lol the age difference was what almost convinced me that EO and MA were together. Being an Olsen trademark and all. She put on a convincing act that's for sure. Maybe that and pap night is why she got the ELLE actress of the year award.
>>136 to quote from Flann O'Brien, "at this, the old man cast away his glass and started drinking from the bottle."
>>136 comparisons to Shakespeare or any Shakespeare talk should be excluded from all TH drinking games because we'd all be dead by the end of the night. Seriously. We'd be doing shots in the middle of shots.
>>137 Maybe she couldn't get Tom to commit and was trying to make him jealous.
>>136 Yeah, we have to do the reverse: take a shot when TH doesn't speak in a southern accent.
>>133 I think the hand holding - and the 'they were so cozy at the HR screening' reports - smell of red herring. I saw someone on twitter swear that EO and MA were in Hawaii together but he wasn't pictured at the laser tag place. Okaaaayyyy, possible, I guess.
>>137 Elle actress of the year? Did I miss that post? For Avengers?
>>142 WHAT? Wow I missed the Marc Abraham in Hawaii sighting. Maybe EO is covering for the real secret relationship - TH and MA.
>>142 they claimed MA was in Hawaii too?? Hadnt heard that one! Yeah I think she was doing a red herring too. Or if you want to be really evil, EO tried to make TH jealous after he started distancing himself from her after pap night. She went to Hawaii in a last ditch effort but alas, Tom had left the building.
>>144 You and I both - because there wasn't one. After IG-Gate, the poster (and it wasn't our usual sailor of Da-Nile) was telling everyone that EO and MA were together in HI, they were the couple, TH and EO were just friends. Whatever let's you sleep at night, I guess.
>>146 I believe the ELLE awards are the kind you can buy for yourself or your publicist can negotiate for you. No real talent or style required. Just a publicist who can make the right calls at the right time. Similar to the GQ ones.
>>147 They should start doing an ELLE "Tom Hiddleston's Tropical Island FWB Dumpee of the Year" Award.
2014 Winner - Jane Arthy, for posing in restaurant photos and favoriting "Tom and his wife" tweets in Bora Bora
>>148 I wonder who the next lucky lady will be in 2016! Usually I'd say keep an eye on any single ladies in Tom's general vicinity but after the EO situation, it's all up in the air!
That was mean. But I couldn't help it.
>>150 Could be that Tom and Elizabeth are truly over and so now her and Jade are being single gals together. One day, Tom will have a proper girlfriend and we won't have speculation or gossip to poke fun at anymore. And we can forget all about Internet sleuthing then!
>>151 That was what I was aiming at, but you express it better!
Torrilla has some pics of him white water rafting, which I reproduce via tumblr because on my phone I only seem to be able to link to her main page: http://ancientfinnishgoddess.tumblr.com/post/140022749185/hes-all-wet-like-the-rest-of-us-my-goodness-oo
>>152 He looks like Pine again! Damn Thomas! Back at it again with those big guns and bulge! Yes that was my failed damn Daniel attempt.
Did a quick glance at Celebitchy last night and wow, quite a lot of posters still believe TH and EO never happened and that it's all innocent single kids fun. I thought maybe after the JVR IG pic fiasco, there might be some different tunes but guess not. I wonder if this is how they first show signs that even if Tom gets married with kids, they'll think it's all some gimmick like some of the really scary Cumberbatch fans do.
>>153 I've certainly gone back and forth on this. That was mostly because EO said no at TIFF, and they were so awkward and miserable around one another that I tended to believe her notwithstanding any previous evidence to the contrary. However looking back now at everything that happened since July, and in particular the HI visit, there isn't much doubt in my mind, at least that they bumped uglies. When, for how long and with what degree of commitment is and will doubtless remain shrouded in mystery.
There's video. He officially has the most enormous feet ever: http://video.weibo.com/show?fid=1034:f9bc40570fba5eb0dbf4e26e9416a716
>>153 This is a phenomenon that has been a topic here a few times. I'm especially fascinated by it. Some fans will explain away every twitter sighting, every anon cup of tea, every tabloid article with a 'no picture, no proof.'
>>152 We shouldn't be talking about his body...unless it's his body of work. Respect him as an artist, please. ;)
>>157 but what if we want to talk about what a work of art his body is? Because I mean I'll respect the hell out of that ;)))
>>154>>156 Yeah it's a little worrisome how far some of them go to explain that Tom is just friends with the lady or that she's the pushy one and he's too polite to say no. I always thought THEO was on but went underground because ISTL bombed and people were starting to wonder if some cheating happened and neither wanted that kind of attention. Especially if they weren't really serious about each other and just liked hooking up. I still think they were hooking up on and off ever since they started working together on ISTL. And maybe they still might be seeing each other. They'd been good about keeping it quiet until the tabloids started reading. But it doesn't seem very committed or serious so far which is why I say on and off hookup.
>>158 The "good at keeping it quiet" part is another mystery. The US Weekly article wasn't written as a result of pap pics of them, which made it look like a deliberate leak from his/her people (that plus her having given US Weekly an exclusive previously). On some level someone wanted it out there. Which quickly turned into a disaster from a PR and personal perspective. So back they went underground. Interesting that they managed to evade the paps altogether in HI despite it being a popular location for celeb beach pics. I can't believe he couldn't have done the same in London had he chosen.
>>159 That initial article is likely the most accurate piece of information we were given - "they're hooking up, it's casual." I think that was really the extent of their relationship. Whether it's still happening is unknown, but based on the shift in tone of tabloid leaks and the amount of time they've spent apart over the last two months when they apparently had so much opportunity to get together, my money is on it being over.
>>156 There is quite a range of views on CB. There are the ones who are up to the neck in de Nile. Then there is one in particular who always says primly "we don't know anything because he has never confirmed or denied THEREFORE ABSOLUTELY HE IS SINGLE," which is denial about his relationship status and also about one's own state of mind. There are plenty who recognise that the evidence was all circumstantial but think probably yes. And there is one person who said firmly that circumstantial evidence isn't enough to convict anyone, which she will learn is wrong when she is prosecuted for arson after being seen leaving a burning building carrying a can of petrol and a box of matches.
>>160 Yes, accurate because she wrote it, cough cough. I don't actually think it was crazy fan speculation when we wondered on here if she was the more keen because the article and the second one probably came from "her people". Seems to be borne out by who did all the travelling to see whom.
>>159 that leak did seem deliberate and could have been an attempt at using whatever they had going on to push the movie when they thought it had a shot at the Oscars. I'm also in awe how they stayed under the radar in Hawaii. Definitely makes me believe even more that London pap night was staged and EO overacted a little too much.
>>161 I saw those! And honestly that is some serious hardcore committed level of denials. I'd think after the Hawaii confirmation of her being there might change some point of views but no way. Lex or whatever she goes by should feel right at home there.
>>163 I'm gonna be a conspiracy theorist for a moment and put this out there: what if the photo of THEO posted on Town Bike was planted? An "anonymous fan" happens to get a perfect photo of the two of them from behind, arms around each other, with EO's easily identifiable yellow bag from the week before hanging over her back. That pic was the warm up, and then boom, pap night. I think Town Bike is overreaching when she says Tom visits her blog, but any good PR in the age of social media is going to be aware of their client's fanbase, and I could easily see a savvy publicist using a blog like that to their advantage.
>>164 Can I just say I don't want anyone on here to think we are getting at them for not agreeing at various times that there was a relationship. There was no hand holding on the red carpet or snogging photo, and EO did deny it. You don't have to be a crazy fan to say, after looking at this clusterfuck, maybe not.
>>165 Your theory might not be far off. Cosmetic companies sponsor trips to tropical islands for YouTube beauty bloggers so that they can peddle their products to their subscribers. For someone like Tom who has a big online presence, it would make sense for his publicist to tap into that power over traditional media.
>>165 That for me is a bridge too far. Several people told the bike they had seen them together and she goaded them to take a pic "or it never happened", the usual. I reckon one of the lurkers at the cafe waited for them then followed them - it would be quite easy if he goes there regular as clockwork as is said.
>>166 That's what I mean. In the beginning, it was too vague and then you had clear denials so it made sense. Even I was like yeah it's nothing. After Hawaii, I would think some would wonder just a little. But like that one poster said some other celebrities like Damien Lewis and Gwendolyn Christie visited as well and EO could've done the same and it's all innocent. If so that's one amazing coincidence especially so close to the timing of their romance rumors.
>>161 I like this interesting approach to the law: Officer, offfiiiiccccceeeeerrrr, I was just holding this alcohol...in my blood stream....for a friend. I am not drunk and disorderly, thank you very much.
>>170 I am holding alcohol in my bloodstream for a friend right now. It's Friday night and we are just about to settle down in front of The People vs OJ Simpson. So no spoilers please as I don't know how it's going to end ;)
>>169 Did DL visit TH at his love nest in the backwoods of HI? That I missed!!
The thing with causal, on/off hook-ups is they're just that: casual and on/off. So, five-hour flight for a bang? Sure, why not. But a 14 hour flight - not feeling it, not even for birthday/Valentine's bang (even though they're the best bangs going!).
>>171 It ends with the Kardashian name becoming a household name - and that is like the bowels of Hell opening up.
TH and Khloe, anyone? I guess Kourtney would be more his 'type.'
>>172 In theory! Maybe half of Hollywood did. All of which means EO visiting was NO BIG DEAL!!
>>175 Really? Where did that rumour come from? Twitter?
The consensus chez nous is that E1 of The People vs OJ is way, way better than E1 of TNM. This from two lawyers who never normally watch anything involving a lawyer. I feel disloyal....
>>176 Let's start our own rumor: Tom invited Damien Lewis, Gwendoline Christie, and Elizabeth Olsen to the Skull Island set in Hawaii for a Kong-themed sex party! Monkey costumes mandatory.
I nearly ran over Damian Lewis just before Christmas. He walked behind my car while I was reversing into a parking space, tsk, tsk. I should have hopped out and asked him about his holiday!
>>172 No idea if it really happened. There were claims that you can see him in the go kart pics in the back but honestly, most of them also say it's not EO in the collage but that other Erin Moriarty actress. I would check those pics but I don't feel like it lol I'm sure if a pic came out from the Hawaii days with EO and TH kissing and cozy in the back, it'll be "a kiss is zero proof of romantic relationships. I kiss my dog on the mouth all the time, does this mean I'm sleeping with him? Of course not! Please stop jumping to conclusions!"
>>179 Are all these "sightings" only coming out now, or did we just not notice/discuss them back when they happened?
>>180 We didn't discuss them IIRC. I have no idea if they came out back in Oct/Nov. I never saw them and I never saw any reference to them in CB comments. I do recall an extensive comments section on tweets about EO shopping at the market etc.
>>180 From what I recall, no one on CB or anywhere else mentioned all these sightings. It was just discussion about sightings of EO in Hawaii at the farmer's market and the ethics of sharing those social media accounts that saw her and Tom together. It didn't even come up when the JVR IG collage incident happened. No one's linking anything either and I don't know if my tired blind as a bat eyes can spot murky blurry figures in the back and figure out if it's Damien Lewis or Gwendolyn Christie or whoever else they're now claiming was on the SI set.
I just had a thought. What if all these posters are thinking that Marc Evan Jackson is Damien Lewis? He's the only one I see in the go kart pics that could resemble Damien Lewis otherwise I don't see DL at all. If so, I think we just solved the mystery. DL was never there and EO was definitely there.
I'm going to guess that the GC and DL sightings and about two thirds of the EO sightings were fake. I think once a sighting is over three months old it's pretty much irrelevant anyway.
I can say for certain that the guy in pic 1 is not DL. Easy answer: way too short. And this I can say for certain because in addition to nearly running him over I have met him coming out of a shop in Belsize Park; he is a strapping 6 footer.
After this discovery of the supposed DL being Marc Evan Jackson instead, I'm now doubting there's a Samuel L Jackson interview out there where he talks about inviting Gwendoline Christie to the SI set.
>>186 Hey, I doubt that they are making a movie. I think it's just gone giant holiday.
PS I just looked up Damian Lewis's height: 6 foot 1 inch. I was bang on the money. No way is the guy in that pic 1 inch shorter than TH.
>>186 This? Sounds like he didn't invite her: http://www.interviewmagazine.com/film/gwendoline-christie/#_
>>187 Yeah, it's definitely not Damien Lewis. They just saw a pale ginger guy and assumed it was DL. Just like some of them still think it's Erin Moriarity and not EO in the collage pics. Well, hey, whatever floats your boat, folks. Now, that video of Tom rafting. I believe we need more pics and videos like that. It's positively criminal that they're all having this much fun and saying Tom the Dance King yet we have no video. POSITIVELY CRIMINAL, I SAY!
>>188 lol instead it's her inviting him to Belfast for a GOT set tour. This is exactly why this board is so much more fun.
I am eternally partial to a man with a pencil behind his ear or in his mouth. Sigh.
>>180 I'm sure they floated around various places when he was in HI and then when IG-Gate happened. But this board - sensible creature that it is - never gave them purchase.
Because, let's face it, it's all rubbish meant to somehow discount or diminish EO's presence in HI. Because, you know, if DL or GC showed up on set, that totally means THEO isn't a thing - reasonable argument!
>>189 I agree. More wet Tom! More dancing Tom! More karaoke Tom!
I - more than I should - want TH, while unbuttoning and dropping trou, to say to me 'Stand back, I know what to do.'
I want it. I want it.
>>194 HAHAHAHAHA! This is GOLD! I love it! Tom that golden retriever with a heart of gold! If someone had told me this I would think it was fiction but OMG! Too funny!
How is she delivering her lines? Or remaining conscious?
>>198 that Pine! TNM is gifting such goodies! I can't wait til High Rise gives us some more sexy times Tom.
>>194 OMG. 71 cheesecake shots to go along with a watersport fantasy. Someone at HuffPost has turned fangirls onto a new fetish. Pee on me next Tom!
>>200 Along with the watersports fantasy, a mud wrestling fantasy: http://mydigitaldaydreams.tumblr.com/post/140068862291/there-will-be-mud-another-news-article-chronicling
A twitter vid about why TH doesn't use his twitter. The answer won't surprise anyone.
>>202 Ah yes. The work [the nutjobs]. Although he also said, more interestingly to my view, that a NY resolution for 2015 had been to spend less time living electronically. His phone was pretty ubiquitous prior to this time.
>>201 IG burped up a video of some people in the mud caves (no TH, mind you), but the people in that vid said that the Kong crew were in the other mud caves.
Some people in the comments sections were saying that there was a 'naked option' in one of the mud caves. True or not, I think people were just feeding their naked, mud-covered TH fantasies (no shade thrown!).
>>203 He does mention trolls at the very beginning. I believe the 'work' thing, I believe he believes it. But, let's be honest, at the height of his twitter use, he was making THC, OLLA, TTDW, TPF (modern classic), doing Corio. - a five act Shakespeare play! Plenty of work was going on along with plenty of twitter.
OT - I just had a pop-tart and cold leftover brussels sprouts for breakfast. My fiancé looked at me with disgust, shook his head and left for work. I jokingly texted him to ask if he was still planning on marrying me. His reply: Yes but need to work on breakfast habits.
>>204 I imagine with his new-found Twitter awareness TH is not about to get his cock out anywhere where there might be a member of the public with a camera phone. It is a nice fantasy though. "I'll rub it on her, she'll rub it on me, we'l both rub it on each other!" as Jack Lemmon says in Some Like It Hot!
>>205 Has he ever been trolled as such? I doubt it. His problem is excessive and moronic expressions of undying love, plus a bit of stalking. It must get depressing to post a link to a song he has enjoyed and get 2000x "Tom I looooooove youuuuuuu hearteyeshearteyes." It must be nigh on impossible to say to the world "love me less obsessively please" hence I suppose he refers to "trolling".
Here's another thought. Mid-2013 to mid 2014 also coincides with the JArthy time. Did she show him any of what was said about her online, I wonder? Even though (as pointed out on board 1 here) she didn't really get hate on Twitter, she certainly got a lot of attention and have from elsewhere (eg bicycle). You might think, as a male Twitter celeb, that if this kept up you would never have a girlfriend again as nobody would be able to endure it - unless they shut down every social media outlet they had. That may have contributed to him pulling back.
"hate from elsewhere."
>>202 And there is a fan comment from 'Emerald Hiddleston' is still too self-obsessed to get the point, or else it's trolling.
Oh, and another eggpic fan who is 'sad.' That he wants to focus on work rather than Twitter makes someone sad? How would I be able to pay my house mortgage, my bills, my car, etc. if I tweeted rather than working? Are all of the twitter omgomghearteyes fans young teen girls who live with parents and don't work? Sorry for the rant.
>>211 I think a lot of them are (cf my earlier comments re demographic at the Nuffield talk, either teenagers or retirees). We are quite unusual in being in our 30s, married/partnered/divorced. Most are teenagers or very early 20s or well into their 60s (I think there are at least 2 regulars at CB who are grandmas).
Here's the jellyfish story for those w/o access to Wossy's show.
Are we all braced for tonight and the promised long distance bum shot?
We're having dinner out tonight, so I'll watch on catch-up when we get back and post my by-the-numbers review later.
Anon, you've got to post your non-spoiler review - you didn't last week!
The Reeltours guy posted about BL and TH not taking part in filming because they were returning to LA for the Oscars - TH as a presenter, I guess. His 'source,' however, was a dodgy internet translation of a Vietnamese article.
>>216 That seems pretty unlikely I would have thought, unless AMC has got him in to publicise TNM. But the Oscars is so movie focussed and his movies last year have not made any great financial or critical impact.
What does Olly's/Vogt-Roberts IG say about everyone's movements?
PS Brie has been at a lot of things and you would expect TH to have been at some of them, assuming they flew into LA together, which seems likely if they both took time off.
>>220 Here's a source dated the 26th: http://m.plo.vn/van-hoa-giai-tri/diem-quay-thu-hai-cua-kong-skull-sland-da-den-ninh-binh-614091.html
So in theory he could still have flown into LA for the Oscars, though it looks as though Olly is still in Vietnam. I think we'd have had an airport sighting or two by now, though. I'm going to vote no on Oscar Tom.
>>221 VP Joe Biden is presenting...have we ever seen those two in the same room? Hmmmm.
>>221 - good sleuthing skills!
He isn't on any list I have seen on Twitter as a presenter. In fact #Oscars2016 and #tomhiddleston searched together throws up one girl saying he is her perfect Oscars date and a few posts from October last year saying "no Oscar for ISTL now it's been put back." Sob.
Anon's patent spoiler-free review, ep2:
Tension: taut as a TH tummy muscle.
Plot: as twisty as a twisty turny thing (sorry, I do still think of Blackadder whenever I see Hugh Laurie).
PS and Torrilla has already screencapped the underpants scene. It is 6.20am in Beijing. She is a dedicated woman.
Number of biscuit consumption scenes: 1
Number of times TH had something powerful and purring between his legs: 4 (it was a motorcycle!)
Number of times TH beat up someone convincingly: 1
Number of times TH beat up someone unconvincingly: 2 (he'll need to work on that if he wants a shot at Bond)
How could I forget...
Number of tree based surnames: 3!
>>226 Love your reviews, Anon. I'll be watching a coughdownloadcough tomorrow.
No Oscars Tom, as far as I can see. At any rate, not on tumblr, which is full of people who stayed up the whole night to watch the predictable occur.
>>229 Oscar presenters were announced ages ago, and given that he has no connection with the films being honoured this year, assume that he is enjoying Vietnam.. or South Sudan.
Maybe next year.
Apparently, the reports of him attending the Oscars were due to poor translation skills from the Vietnamese article.
Photobomb Tom! http://m.weibo.cn/1270344441/Dk4zw3Dgx#showPic
>>230 >>231 Presenters don't necessarily need to be connected to a film to be invited. Some of the presenters have no business being there on talent, but they have big names or good agents, so they get the invite. Chris Evans? Kevin Hart? The Weeknd?!? This guy's name is a part of the week - and not even spelled correctly, but he presented!
>>233 Ah, maybe this is photographic proof of why he can't convincingly beat up a person: he's just such a silly muppet at heart.
>>234 OT: my fave was Cate Blanchett but possibly that's because I'm getting old.
>>236 Oh, hers was beautiful too! And Mark Rylance wore his pork pie hat!
>>237 I love love love MR. I actually own a portrait of him, which hangs in my office at work. He gazes down on me while I type. I should stick a little Oscar on it...
Back on topic (kind of). I noticed no EO at the Oscars either. That did surprise me, since she is local, reasonably well known one would have thought, and would go to the opening of an envelope at this point. Back in the day when I was a student and watched the whole thing, they invited everyone with a pulse who had made a half decent movie in the last two years. Has something changed? Do they fill up the spaces with models now?
>>239 He is wearing the hat in the portrait. Possibly he is wearing THE hat.
So, TNM question:
When Burr is in Pine's flat and they are talking about his father, she says: 'I heard they had to put his uniform back on before they buried him.' She does so with a half-smile.
>>240 I think the ceremony itself is restricted to nominees, guests of nominees, cast, crew of nominated pictures and their guests. Then presenters are thrown in there (presumably with their guests). That's a guess, I genuinely have no idea.
>>242 No idea. Was he too a soldier and a spy? Not in uniform while spying , did on the job, put uniform back on...?
>>243 I should say that 'crew' probably extends to directors, producers, DP. I don't think the boom mic guy is suiting up.
>>243 in the old days you used to see people like Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino and Tom Cruise in the audience even if they weren't nominated or presenting. I felt like there was hardly anybody of that calibrate there. Not even George and SpellingMistake Clooney.
>>244 Yes, his father was 'undercover in Northern Ireland' and served in the same regiment as JP. I thought maybe it was the undercover thing: that he was always out of uniform (as an agent) and thus only wore it at his funeral, but that sounds a strange thing to say.
CALIBRE, Apple spellcheck.
>>247 I think we are on the same wavelength. That must be what Burr means.
>>240 From what I know about the Oscars and the ceremony, anyone can go if they can buy the tickets. Same with the afterparties. They're expensive but if you can afford it, you'll get one. If you're a nobody, you get to sit in the nosebleed section at the ceremony and watch the awards. Usually other family members and other friends of presenters and nominees they bring along are sitting in the back along with other cast and crew mates from the nominated movies. I think whatever movie that gets nominated, everyone who worked on it gets invited as well. But yeah you can always purchase nosebleed section tix and afterparty tix as well. And if you're a celebrity, you can just get your PR team to get you in. So technically both EO and TH could've gone to the Oscars if they wanted. Though I think TH probably will only go if he's nominated or chosen as a presenter. But the BAFTAS or BFI, he goes all the time if he can, even if he's not nominated or not a presenter.
I love it when twitter vomits up these gems. Yes...psychic gossip!! And from a woman/man calling herself/himself 'The Seer.' It's got to be true!
>>251 If you liked that then you need to check out thiddyastro on tumblr. I'm not going to give away too many spoilers but she echoes the same sentiment as psychic gossip. Great career, dark personal life. Currently, she and a friend of hers are predicting loads of health problems for Tom and some "bad company". You should give it a read. Definitely search out the love and astrology tag on there and search for solar arc. Her whole take on THEO is worth a read as well. There's also some gems on Tom and his past life where he was a woman who married for money and was miserable and that's why he's wary of relationships and marriage. Like you said, you couldn't make it up.
>>252 Lord. I'm going to pass because just your summary makes it sound ridonkulous. I probably couldn't handle the real thing. Past lives? Sure. She's as delusional as Miss Unrelated who thought she had a Vulcan mind-meld with TH and he wanted her to continue with her mad question.
>>254 Something from FSOG was up for an Oscar? What is this world?
>>255 I think that was the only thing from the movie nominated. Found the song, it's called "Earned It." ACKKK I'm wrong, Danny Elfman won a BMI award for best score. And another song was nominated for the Golden Globes. There are more, and many are 'Worst' awards, appropriately. See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2322441/awards?ref_=tt_awd.
TBH, I respect him all the more so for not turning up for a nice bit of self-promotion at the opening of every envelope ..even if that envelope has "Academy of Motion Pictures" on the front of it.
>>252 One can take or leave the astrology (it is an astrology blog after all!!) but otherwise she is pretty normal. Someone posted a long rambling comment about how they weren't surprised he left tumblr because a great artist cannot be distracted by their audience. She responded "Or my favourite theory: he realised that some of the fanbase who were trying to contact him 24/7 were batshit-crazy."
>>258 Sorry I mean left Twitter. I hope for his sake he isn't on tumblr. After all he knows what his own bum looks like.
I didn't know Wizard World was a thing but apparently it is:
>>260 It's 50 clams to get to Philly from NYC (Amtrak/bus would be cheaper). But I'd need to explain to the boy why I was buggering off to Philly and twitter is saying it's 500 clams (!!!) to meet him, i.d., get one of those sometimes cringy photos (I think).
Back, butt, leg porn.
>>261 It would be cheaper - and probably more fun - to fly to London while he's home and hang out with me in the cafe wearing homemade t-shirts saying "nw3anon" and "thetownbycycle". You can have first pick.
Hopefully this works. I'm on a loaner computer and the keyboard is messing with my mind!
>>265 it does. I have always liked the fact that he has a good sized bum.
>>258 honestly I find her to be a strange mix. When she does the whole "well I have his entire chart right here in front of me so I know how he is", I find that a little disturbing. That might be part of her showmanship to garner more interest in astrology though. But one thing I do admire about her is that she doesn't condone bullying other fans nor does she encourage or enable TOBY level salacious gossip about Tom. She shuts that stuff down pretty fast. Like you said she's harmless but it does make for an entertaining read when she forecasts his future or about his relationships. Regardless of whether you're into astrology or not.
>>267 The one time I visited that blog I saw her respond to anons who presented logical arguments based in fact with answers that boiled down to "well according to his chart you're wrong," which is a major peeve of mine. But I have no interest or faith in astrology, so I'm not her target audience anyway.
>>268 Yep, that sounds like most astrology adherents I know. Fact and reality often fall at the wayside when they don't jive with charts and past lives.
I think it's a bit of fun like most people, but I don't think it gives us anymore insight into TH than what shows up on other gossip blogs.
>>258 Are people repeating things from here or are posters here showing up there? It could always be that
I've given up on all boards except this one. The LSA thread, which was good for lurking, has gotten messy: one woman used a manip as proof that TH had a crush on CH. That was when I checked out.
>>263 I guess nationality wise, you'd be NW3 and I'd be townbycycle. But let's be honest, I'd only ever cross the ocean and set up camp in the cafe for Ave JArthy - a veritable pilgrimage.
It's March. Where has the year gone? We're knee deep in TNM, but HR is around the corner.
Contains some plot/movie details but not what I'd call 'spoilers.'
Getting a handle on this new computer, I swear!
>>265 Weeeee he really does look nice from behind.
>>270 People are repeating things. Remember I jokingly called the crazy Berlinale question lady's 2000-word justification her apologia pro vita sua? Not a phrase I saw widely bandied around at the time (or in life generally!). Well, somebody else just referred to it as an "apologia" in inverted commas. It could of course be totally coincidental.
>>271 Well she still lives round there, allegedly!
I was thinking last night that a hen party at a ComicCon would be amazing! Much better than whatever boring nonsense I did. Second only to a trip to Vegas or the dog track (50p each way bets available in London- how can you resist?).
>>261 Tumblr is also saying it is 500 bucks for a meet and greet, with photo op, autograph, "exclusive lithograph" (aka "print"), guaranteed seat at the Avengers q&a plus the right to ask whatever crazy ass question you want (ok I made some of the last part up).
>>277 exactly, I'd be really embarrassed. It would be such an odd experience, I think.
Speaking of things waving at one from one's tumblr dash:
I have identified that it is from the French HR trailer. Of course it is: http://youtu.be/77zO3ML1Na4
He struck me as a modesty sock sort of guy. I was wrong. Clap for TH. Braver than I!
What going on at tumblr? Is it chaos? Are the 'Give me that dick pic' group at war with the 'He isn't an object!' group?
>>280 Yeah, twitter caught on to its origins very quickly. Right now all of twitter is in LOVE with France.
I wonder if the edit will be different for the UK and US movie (not trailer) versions. Ain't no way that's getting into a US trailer (I don't think UK either). However, it might not even make it into the movie itself.
>>275 So, a few possibilities:
>>281 We may not be getting an accurate view because when they sit with their knees up it makes the old man point upwards due to pressure of other objects from below (if you know what I mean!). I think we are getting a telescoped view. The perspective is all wrong. And the glimpse is so brief!
>>278 Some of those con. photos are funny or clever (I've seen some great ones with Marvel stars, especially Hayley Atwell), but you're right, most seem uncomfortable and stiff - because of course they would be: two/three total strangers are taking a picture together.
>>283 One always worries that everyone else immediately says it's 3) and that I am big-headed for assuming that we are the smartest, wittiest fans in the Hiddlesphere (we are!! We are!!!!).
>>284 Given his propensity for excitement boners, I would wager on a modest cage!
>>286 one thing in those photos definitely won't be stiff. I imagine the poor hiddleconda retreats into the body cavity in sheer terror at proximity of so many nutty fangirls
>>284 I bet he does. I think this was an unintended (by him) flash which someone has put in the trailer as a joke. It is very quick if not slowed down and I imagine he thought he hadn't flashed.
>>285 I think we might be getting a decent view of what he's got - but that's just me. I'll see if I can stage an experiment later: just lay down naked on the bed, darling, while I accidentally drop this glass near you. Ignore the camera! This is research!
>>291 Hahaha! It is so fleeting I am not sure I would call it a decent view. Anyway they can vary so muc in size that it's rarely a fair comparison. I bet Fassy had the set heated to 100 degrees so his boy swung free. I also read that when filming the nude wrestling scene in Women in Love, Oliver Reed vanished for some "quiet time" before each take to ensure he was shown to his full advantage!!!!!
>>289 Not to be too nannyish, but were I TH, I would be bricking it at the prospect of these photos. What are some fans going to ask him to do? The last time he did something like this, he was giving people piggyback rides and they were jumping into his arms. One would think that they have certain rules, but if the organizers are going to depend on common sense and decency to dictate behavior, they've not met some of TH's fans.
Oh boy! That's a big boy! Actually for a guy his height, it seems pretty accurate. My captcha word is perfect for this moment. Fuck. Seriously. First word out of my mouth when I saw the gif. I wonder if this scene will make it to the DVD because like Anon. said above, I doubt that part of the scene is making it into the US version. I also don't think Tom would use a modesty sock for something like this. Sex scene or a facing his costar naked but something like this or Unrelated or Archipelago where it's too fast to tell much, he seems to just do it. Maybe because it's not a proper full frontal. That tease Hiddleston!
>>292 I was just thinking about that story! I was saying to myself, TH needed to do a better job of preparing little TH for his debut - just like OR! I think both OR and AR agreed NOT to fiddle before filming, but then OR didn't follow through on the bargain and AR was not happy!
I think this gif is being retweeted mmore thanhis actual tweet about HR. I wonder if he tweeted when he realized his dinky was making the rounds, you know, a quick reminder that HR isn't about The Willy, but The Work.
>>294 I feel kind of sorry for him. It does feel like he thought it was so fleeting that he didn't need a sock (she says having viewed it 4,872 times since discovering it). I assume in the editing suite they see it frame by frame and know exactly how much it reveals, but they probably then run it at normal speed and think, "yeah that's ok." I doubt this alone would get an 18 rating in the UK. If you blinked or were delving in your popcorn you'd miss it.
Seems like we're going to get TH playing tennis in TNM. That shirt of his has gotten the memo.
A little head-to-head between TH and James Norton (who doesn't ring my bell, but was/is great in Happy Valley).
>>297 I've been using that frame by frame post to answer the longstanding question: is he or isn't he cut? It would seem that as a European born man he would not be. Numerous bulge shots in tight suit trousers say he is not. And on the other side of the argument, of course the byke woman 'knows' he is circumsised because of her 'sources.'
>>300 And what is your conclusion? As a British person with a reasonable amount of "research" (hee hee) I would say it's vv unlikely. But I am not sure we can see.
>>302 I saw this on torrilla a moment ago after a truly shitty day at work and I was instantly hearteyes again. He looks marvellous.
I 'researched' a total of 5 men during my time in England: 3 Brits, one Scot and an Italian. All of them were as God made them, full and intact. Religion - and I guess medical conditions - really seem to be the only reasons for circumcision.
>>303 I wrote it in the last thread, sometimes I hate him he's so well put together and proportioned. He's really very David-like.
And as thrilling as a quick look at his dinky is, I'm more than happy with those shoulders and chest.
>>304 The only circumcised partner I have had was Jewish.
I think many Americans (at least those who have not carried out "research" on our shores...) have a hard time understanding just how unpopular circumcision is in the UK. People keep saying on tumblr "but his parents were rich!" or "but he looks so clean!" as if you would only choose not to have your baby circumcised if you were filthy and living on the breadline!
>>305 I am happier looking at his twelve chest hairs and his wonky left nipple than I am peering at gifs for an out of focus shot of his willy. I must be very vanilla at heart.
He's totally try to tweet our attention away from 'Liddle Hiddles.'
>>306 It's becoming fairly uncommon on these shores as well. A lot of people used to get it done because they wanted sons to 'look like' their fathers (fathers from a generation when nearly everyone in the US was automatically circumcised). But I think people have realized that this becomes self-perpetuating/sustaining, so they've just stopped.
>>308 Now he's retweeting all things HR! Boy's on a roll.
>>301>>304 I always thought he was uncut. Not sure if this is a joke...doesn't seem to be...a former schoolmate of th's came forward to confirm: http://gandering-gregory.tumblr.com/post/140422100148/hiddlestonluvr-hiddlestonluvr
>>309 A lot of American girls I met at college had been told that it was rilly, rilly hard to keep an uncut one clean, and were surprised to learn that they have fewer nooks and crannies than our own ladyparts, which nobody thinks are a bother to wash.
It seems that I decided to check up on this board at interesting times in TH's fandom, lol. Hi, guys! It's been a while.
>>312 Unless it's a very impressive willy :) Or the guy was very interested in TH's willy at the time - which is nothing wrong with that! But even if he does remember, I'm sort of side-eyeing him for enjoying so much his 15 min in this tiny corner of the Internet known as TH's fandom.
>>311 I'm not sure if I believe the guy. Not about Tom being uncut but about him knowing Tom in college. I'm pretty positive Tom is uncut, based simply on cultural norms of UK. But not sure I believe the guy about going to school with TH. It's possible he might have but I'm always wary of people who pop up on tumblr with claims of having some sort of personal connection with Tom. Or any famous celebrity for that matter tbh.
>>314 England's a small place and the prevalence of Old Etonians and Oxbridge grads makes it feel smaller if you move in those circles. For example: there is someone down the hall at work who is an OE who is about the same age. It's such a small school that they undoubtedly knew each other and he probably knows and is in touch with people who are his close friends.
I'm late for work, but....QQQQQQAAAAAAAZZZZZZ! You've been missed.
>>317 Yes, welcome back! Just seen your post in my coffee break when I had a bit of time to peruse the board properly as opposed to looking at the last post only. I hope that a peek at Liddle Hiddles revives your esteem for the great man!!!
>>319 Come with us to the cafe! Pick the name of your favourite tumblr nutcase for your tshirt (so many choices!) or maybe have one with a stupid question you'd like to ask him.
Or we could each dress up as one of his ex girlfriends.
>>320 I was hoping you'd invite me!
Yeah, so many choices.. But I doubt he knows any of them by (nick)names, so I think I'll just brighten his day by confessing I came all the way from LT to ask him about that mole he has and what influence it had on his acting career. After all, I'm all about his art nowadays!
>>321 That is a real pain. Only on the big screen will we be able to see Tom and Little Tom in their full but fleeting glory.
>>320 Has any taken SF? I can look perky but annoyed.
>>324 You can have who you like! Though I am sure Anon. would fight you to be the JArthy!!!!!
Personally I think SF is the best one because he'd put his hand up your skirt and snog you in public.
>>311 I would like to state for the record that I have always been a faithful defendant of Liddle Hiddles (now his official nickname).
When the door sex tweets appeared, I refused to believe that two minutes was all the puff Liddle Hiddles had in him - remember?
>>313 I think we're all enjoying TNM but have some sticking points like you - not least of all the brevity of the love scenes and the fact that his ass shot was filmed by a potato located on Mars.
This TH (and Liddle Hiddles) when they find out qaz doesn't love them anymore. ;)
>>319 Yeah, $500 and they sold out! Guess it will have to be the cafe hen party.
>>324 She totally had that look down. There's some TIFF behind the scenes footage where she's just waiting around for him. And while she looks happy enough, there's just something behind the eyes that suggests she's peeved.
From the Sunday Times. All painted with trouser legs rolled up...with Bond in his sights.
>>323 Of course he has 90 minute Skype sessions. Of course.
He said he was 'making a documentary' about S. Sudan. Perhaps we'll see that product eventually.
>>328 I saw today on Tumblr some fan who bought a ticket saying that it's a photo op with TH + Chris Hemsworth, presumably together? I don't know how those things work. So at least he'll probably get to share possible awkward moments with his 'brother from another mother'.
>>326 But here we are talking about dimensions. Then we were talking about duration....I have never doubted the humongous size of the Buckingham Phallus (as flappyhappyhiddles calls it).
There is worse than Sian. If we are getting into dressing up not just as girlfriends but as female companions, SOMEONE HAS TO BE LARA PULVER.
>>330 I glazed over a bit before I got to that para first time around. On rereading I see what you mean. Rather a more nuanced view on diversity and the arts (yawn - why is he expected to have the answers to this?). He was crucified in CB over the Guardian interview for living in his ivory tower (I paraphrase) but this interview was done at more or less the same time and probably not in "response" to criticisms of the Guardian piece. It suggests as we remarked at the time that the fault lay in the interviewer - or how she edited his response.
Sight and Sound has the longest interview ever. Torrilla has the screencaps. I think it was completed by an heir after the original interviewer died during his response about how he prepped by reading Ballard.
>>335 "it was completed by an heir after the original interviewer died during his response about how he prepped by reading Ballard" LOL! Your comment deserves an Oscar for Best Original Wit EVER! Superior comment ever!
>>331 Holy Captcha! It has 'air' in it because she floats on air like an angel - a fag smoking, ombre'd, foul-mouthed angel. And it's an adverb because she's all about the ACTION!
>>332 Don't matter. I believe in the holistic power of Liddle Hiddles. It can bring peace to the Middle East. It can defeat Trump for the Republican nomination. Tiny Tim don't need no crutch - he can use TH's dick. ;)
>>337 If Liddle Hiddles is a bigger dick than Donald Trump then it must be vast indeed.
>>336 Mwah! But I feel I have to bring my A game to hang out with you lot.
I don't know about duration, but Lil' Hiddles is not so little : http://lokislittlediva.tumblr.com/post/140357485840/quoting-shakespeare-to-ducks-hiddlesbiscuit. We don't see it all in that High-Rise peak.
>>334 Indeed. That's the best interview of him we've had in a while imo.
>>340 The best bit from that link is the comment by the little old lady.
After Tom's mention of UKIP in the Sight & Sound interview I read a thousand Wikipedia articles on UK politics but I still feel a little lost. Can someone give an American a brief explanation of the major political parties?
>>342 Ok I will try. No guarantee that other Brits on here will quite agree but here goes.
UKIP - usually accepted to be most far right party. Wants end to participation in EU, end to immigration (often thought to be appealing to covertly or openly racist views though they deny this), end to Human Rights Act, repeal of equal rights legislation for women, POC, disabled etc, support for broadening gun laws. Large popular support when counted nationwide but one MP due to vagaries of political system (votes split across hundreds of MP elections so almost no wins. I mention them first but they are regarded as a marginal party - extreme views, some grassroots support (like DT but much less successful in the event).
>>342 PS we vote for our MPs as you vote for egg senators - you vote for one candidate for that state (or constituency over here) and your vote only counts for that particular race. We call it first past the post. There is no transferable vote and it doesn't go to a national total of who got most overall. The difference is there is no separate race for PM - the post is filled by the party that gets most MPs. When we talk about a hung Parliament we mean that there aren't enough of one party's MPs to win a vote. We don't get a democrat President, a Republican Congress situation.
egg senators? Maybe I should boycott Apple ;)
Bringing this back on topic, TH lurves Corbyn, I think. Cf this Guardian interview (though he refuses to say how he votes). http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/oct/08/tom-hiddleston-interview-crimson-peak
PS this is one of my favourite interviews because I think it gives a sense of what he is like as a person. For example that he smokes - but like the Queen, is never photographed doing so. That said a lot to me about how he seeks to control his image.
Longtime lurker here. While this political discourse is fascinating, I feel the need to redress the balance with some smut. This image was miraculously overlooked in the excitement of the blurry flash of Little Hiddles. Thanks to a tight climbing harness, Little Hiddles is rather prominent and appears to be of a short and fat nature, generously padded by unfeasibly large balls. A big shout out to the climbing harness for leaving nothing to the imagination and a pang of jealousy towards the lucky person who strapped him in.
>>347 Was there meant to be a link? I am not sure I have seen a pic of TH in a climbing harness - let alone one that is tight about the bollocks...!
>>347 And welcome! We like our political and other discourse with a large side of smut. All tastes catered to.
>>347 Casualty? TH is so rarely in a harness...in public.
I used that link feature once and it wouldn't let me post! And it wasn't a Twitter link. What special margin does new Anonon have?
Welcome, magical one!
And QQQQAAAAZZZZZZ - I'm going to do it every time.
>>347 'unfeasibly large balls' was born out by my 'research' in the UK. Anon, what was your data like? What's in the water over there?
>>354 'Did you hear that?' - I asked my cat just now. 'I think someone's calling my name! It's probably Anon.! I should go right away!'
But, um.. You shouldn't do it every time :) I feel undeserving, with my disappearances and all.
>>357 Nope. You've become like Norm in Cheers. Your appearance will earn a shout - just maybe not with so many letters (pain in the ass keystroke wise).
>>356 No, you were actually using the link box for its intended purpose.
Forget TH's balls, I want to hear the story about the creepy old man! TH will probably become a creepy old man at some point; he's not shy with his reconnoitering of females, and once a person has that, it's only a matter of age before he hits creepy old man level.
>>346 I wonder if TH has ever really tried to hide any of his 'true self' - ugh, I hate phrases like that - or if we, the general public, just haven't seen it because of editorial choices (not TH choices). If he didn't want us to know about his smoking, he wouldn't have mentioned it in this interview. And we only have it because the author decided to put it in the piece. TH might have smoked his way through every single print interview since year dot, but journalists, editors, etc. haven't mentioned it - and not necessarily because he hasn't told them not to mention it.
A string of new ISTL pics on twitter and IG from the film's site.
>>360 I think that is the only photo I have ever seen where he might have been smoking. It was taken during ISTL so it makes sense if he was smoking a lot for filming and then struggling to give up, as he said in the interview. He has been depicted many times in cafes and on the street by fans and occasionally paps and I have never seen him smoking. That's what I mean about being careful. Someone smoking is order mentioned by journos as "local colour" so I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't smoke during interviews. Saying you smoked a bit for a role and have tried to give up feels a bit different. I think it's a fib FWIW and that he has smoked on and off throughout his adult life - he has the classic smokers' lines between the eyes and from the nose to the mouth.
>>360 As to his politics - I have long wondered whether he votes with his wallet. The proposals for mansion tax, had Labour been elected, would have cost him about £40k a year if Zoopla's valuation of his home is correct. And that's before any other tax increases. There are plenty of Tories who are socially liberal and economically conservative (low tax, low regulation, lots of incentives to grow business) - one stereotype, of whom I have met plenty, is the gay London Tory. Socially liberal with stacks of cash.
>>355 I've saved my "large balls" comment for late at night. Yes, I think it is a thing over here. I have no idea why. Also pendulous ones for some reason. Which our boy has. That much was very clear from the High Rise gif - though it is not as if we needed it after 4000 times when he has had to stow them down his trouser leg.
Before TH goes all cloak and dagger bad boy, let's flashback to a time when he was a curly haired goofball who wore really bad sweaters.
>>347 I'm fascinated by the male anatomy. How does one even walk with something dangling there, especially when it's as significant in size as Tom's? Doesn't it get in the way? When stowing it down one pant leg or the other, does it feel lopsided? The one time I asked a man these questions he just sort of shrugged and looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe they just don't really notice since they've always had to deal with it?
>>367 And it sometimes moves without you wanting it to.
I just asked my husband about the lopsided down one leg thing. He says: of course it feels lopsided. But it is only an issue if you wear very tight trousers. Otherwise (and I quote) the balls sit one either side of the seam. I am told that it is monstrously uncomfortable to wear tight trousers if you are well hung. This probably explains why John Hamm almost always wears slacks.
>>361 I'm wondering if his clunkerdar is broken. I work in the film industry have read many a bad script. It's screechingly obvious from the onset that nothing can save them. ISTL seems to have suffered from Abrahams' megalomania: script writer/ director/ producer. I wouldn't be surprised if he interfered with the editing. Only a genius can pull that off.
I meant >>369
Too many 14hr days in a row. Pass the wine please
Number of 'Worst Birthday Ever' parties: 1
Number of 'Worst Farmer Tan Ever' shirtless running scenes: 1 (he did look better in motion than in those stills)
Number of shirtless swimming scenes: 1 (so lovely!)
Number of times TH carried a child on his shoulders and my uterus ached: 1
>>369 No one can resist TH's Schweddy Balls - they're salty and mouthwatering. (Classic SNL!)
>>370 The Ball Bra - a product of Croatia (NSFW)!
>>372 I haven't seen it yet, but I am beginning to feel like a man (even without all this chat about pendulous balls). Every week one settles down with one's favourite cable show/goes to see a new movie, secure in the knowledge that a character of the opposite sex will totally gratuitously get their kit off.
>>370 There's a gif of TH jogging while freeballing it in Suburban Shootout that may answer your question (right before Ruth falls down): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULAj19fbSpE
>>373 *Schweddy. I was thinking of Alec Baldwin's face as I was mistyping it in >>369.
>>374 This looks more comfortable than a conventional jock strap due to the open space between the waistband and the cup. My friend wears one in lieu of briefs.
So what are we calling this latest thing (the HR unintentional crotch shot): Cockgate? Turtlegate?
We can't call it the Moneyshot, as I hear that's later in the movie.
>>380 I don't think you'd catch an Englishman referring to his membrum virile as a turtle. I'd say willygate...
>>375 This is totally SFW. I made mine NSFW because there's just a hint of cock in one of the pics.
I want to get my man a fur jock strap - so luxurious and useful!
>>379 I'm so bad with picking up accents that I'm too trusting with them. You say you're playing an America? Okay, you must then have an American accent - I believe you and your strange vowels!
>>377 I think the spelling can go both ways. There was a bakery/candy store on the UWS that used to sell Schweddy balls! This was a few years ago. You'd buy a few and then - in your best NPR radio voice - do the hit quotes from the skit: My mouth's watering thinking about your balls, I can't wait to get my mouth around these balls, no one can resist my Schweddy balls, etc.
TH and HL TimesTalk.
Here's the link for other NYCers.
I'm soooo excited. This is MY opportunity to ask TH MY question about MY favorite movie of his: The Pirate Fairy.
>>390 Make sure you hold a purse in front of your face, maybe you'll catch his eye! It's not too late to be FWB Dumpee of the Year 2016!
>>391 I'm a lady, so I'm pretty much going to act like the Queen would in this situation. I'm going to wear a mini-skirt, a tube top that has the words 'I'm a Hiddlestoner Slut' written out in rhinestones and 4 inch stiletto heels. Classy outfit for a classy lady.
TH as HW, courtesy of ACM Awards. I'm sure they'll do tie-ins with country radio stations and the like, so maybe a tie in with these awards is on the cards. THEO presenting? Oh, Lord, no. THEO presenting Cheaters of the Year? Oh, Lord, yes!
TH could surely use a fur jock strap. He has so leetle fur of his own. Maybe he has one and that accounts for the padded appearance of his groin area.
>>390 I am ridiculously excited for you about the q&a! Imagine me doing that dance that Snoopy always did in the Peanuts cartoons!!! Will you ask him about the jock strap for me?
Tom tweets himself playing his gee-tar and singing. For some reason I find this clip wildly embarrassing: https://mobile.twitter(.)com/twhiddleston/status/707453297981071360
The week between TNM episodes is so long. We need another dick flash or nipple shot or Purse-Gate.
Anon, have you seen HR yet? You're going to a screening, aren't you? Make sure you do a complete run down (on the Tim Hoddleston thread if necessary for spoilers) once you've seen it.
>>400 Friday!! I am very excited about this. It's being screened at the British Library. Ben Wheatley and one of Ballard's daughters will be there for a q&a afterwards.
My review will probably go something like this:
>>398 Are they like the Elle "acting" award that EO's publicist bought for her? Eheheheheh....
I haven't heard of them, tho country music is not really my thing.
It's hard to watch - corny corn-on-the-cob warning.
>>399 There is a new clip of ISTL in which Hank refers to the sex act as "bronco ridin' ". I feel unable to link to this for quality monitoring purposes. If this is a sample of the script I am unsurprised that it bombed.
>>401 Apparently, unlike CP, the cunnilingus isn't implied - yee-haw (to steal a phrase from another of his movies)!!!
I think Roger Ebert once wrote a similar review.
Am I the only one really turned off by Tom's southern accent? Not that it's bad technically, I just don't find Southern Tom sexy. At all.
>>406 I have to say that face down in someone else's minge is not my optimum viewing pleasure. Apart from anything else the naughty bits will be pressed into the mattress and thereby obscured...!
>>406 I seem to remember the phrase "slurping noises" being used in a Tumblr or Twitter review by someone who saw a TIFF screening.
>>403 That's some red hot chemistry. No wonder EO hid her face behind her purse scarf. Just kidding! But seriously, that tag line though, it's almost like they're trying to sell a sextape and not a proper movie lol
>>407 No I am turned off by it as well. I find it almost as embarrassing as the sangin'. The whole thing feels like a party trick to me. He sings! He plays guitar! He talks funny! I hate self-conscious acting and everything I have seen feels very self-conscious, possibly because so far from his experience.
>>410 For me the best chemistry Tom's had with an actress has been OLLA with Tilda Swinton. I loved them together.
>>415 Yes! They were all over each other at the premiere at Cannes. If she weren't 50-something they'd have made very gorgeous, slightly alien-looking babies.
>>415 Same here. I loved them together as Adam and Eve. That's the chemistry I'd expect a loving husband and wife to have. Then again Hank cheated a ton so maybe that limp fish chemistry is speaking to why he decided to "bronco ride" others lol though I don't think that's the angle SPC is going for here lol
>>412 I want to make a Donald Trump joke at this point but I can't because I am too depressed.
I sometimes drink before I go to movies - just to make them more palatable. I did it before The Revenant (I'm not a LdC fan but the boy wanted to see it); I had 2 good sized glasses of wine before and a mini bottle while there. I managed it.
>>419 A friend and I once sneaked a bottle of cheap fizzy rose into a Harry Potter movie and drank it out of paper cups like winos. We both then fell soundly asleep, not to stir till the credits rolled...
>>407>>411 I don't like his southern accent either. It actually takes that sexy edge from his voice that he has in British and normal American accent. What really makes me cringe is his live singing. The edited singing in the movie is not bad but when he did Wheatland and now in some of these behind the scene rehearsing clips, he doesn't sound good at all. His voice breaks when he hits the high notes.
>>421 MA himself talked about how TH would do 100 takes if a director let him, while he, MA, was more of a 2-3 take sort of guy. I think MA couched it in terms of 'passion' but don't quote me on that.
It might have been control issues or he might have had his Superman underwear on in an attempt to save the film. However, I wonder if this is less TH's control/perfection/save the day issues and more his confidence as a performer working with a director closer to his own level of fame and experience.
>>421 I do remember something of this. Doing lots of takes and being a touch pettish when told "no."
I reckon loads of actors believe that their genius will transform a shitty script. Especially if they see a part that has "Oscar" written all over it. He was kind of right in that everyone has praised his acting in that role. I personally would have been very cautious especially since biopics of music figures are notoriously hard, and Walk the Line set the bar so high. Joaquín Phoenix can actually sing. And (perhaps a controversial view) Johnny Cash was a better songwriter.
>>421 Anyone who has seen The Pirate Fairy (looking at you, Anon.!) or the BTS singing clips knows He Just Can't Sing.
I think i mentioned this previously but at Nuffield he said that in year 2 of RADA really homes in on the skill you lacked and made you do it relentlessly (eg verse speaking, stage fighting or whatever). Sam Hodges asked what his weak spot was and he refused to say!!!! I bet it was singing. I bet you any money.
>>424 Remember him at the ES Awards in Nov 14? Bad hair, bad skin, flat bum (he was constantly hoisting his suit trousers up). Even at the BAFTAs in Feb he still had a crap hairdo and that awful bristly beard that I HATE. Contrast with the golden haired muscle bound Adonis we see a year later...
>>422 Yeah, I remember MA talking about TH wanting a hundred retakes. I think it might have been more of a Superman complex because Tom may have felt he knows directing better since he's worked with Woody Allen and Spielberg and Branagh.
>>424 It's not a good look at all. But the skinny doesn't bother me as much as that hair. The greasy slicked to his head. I just hate that hair on him. I definitely won't be going out of my way to watch ISTL. I think his talents could have been used and recognized much better if he'd just waited a little bit. And he probably could have done without the THEO gossip lol Last year would have been very different for him if he'd skipped out on ISTL.
He reminds me of my tone deaf friend who just LOVES singing. So much so that she took up singing lessons and announced she was becoming a professional singer. While her voice certainly improved, it was mostly just louder and my ears still bleed. We all love her regardless and her enthusiasm is contagious. Like Germans and the war, we never mention the deaf tone
>>429 Is she properly tone deaf? I find truly tone deaf people so fascinating when they sing. The way they can't pick up and maintain notes amazes me.
My buttocks clinch when TH mentions wanting to do a musical. He's said a few times that he'd like to do Guys and Dolls - ummm, no. I love the guy, as much as is reasonable for a fan, but I only ever invested six minutes in TPF - and to this day I want those six minutes back. And the bad return on that investment was all about TH's singing.
>>430 A friend of mine gave me The Pirate Fairy as a gag gift, so I watched it. There was a lot of alcohol involved.
Imagine if ISTL was turned into a Broadway musical. EO and TH hitting all the flat notes as they romp their way through a choreographed bronco ride. Oh, the chemistry!
I hope I never see TPF. Ever. I'm sure I would no longer be a fan. Alcohol wouldn't be enough to get me through. Maybe psychedelics.. ooo look at the pretty fairies
All of this. All of it. He believes he can sing. He probably believes that the RADA immersion therapy cured him. He can't. It didn't. When I watched this clip my buttocks clenched so tightly my whole bum almost disappeared: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=342_GADqw8I
I went to the High Rise preview and Q&A at Curzon Soho last night. I'd been so caught up in Jonathan Pine that I'd completely forgotten about our wonderful Dr. Laing.
Really interesting Q&A too, Ben Wheatley brilliant as ever, and it was mercifully free of embarrassing "tell me about Tom's underpants" type questions. Second time I've seen the film and it definitely bears repeated viewing.
>>434 I saw a few tweets of BW's answers and it looked really interesting. I am going tomorrow to the showing at the BL and I can't wait! I was wondering what the audience demographic would be. Maybe without Tom there you get actual film fans and non-mad Tom fans.
>>435 Yeah, it was pretty mixed, fairly typical of the usual audience you'd get at that cinema. There were a couple of hard core fans on the front row. I'd have loved to go to the British Library event, just such an interesting venue for starters. Hope you have a great time :-)
>>436 It's where the JG Ballard archive is held, apparently. They are having a whole day of Ballard lectures and such on Monday and showing the film again.
>>437 I heard about that, yes, sounds brilliant. They were promoting it last night too. I'd totally have didn't have my bloody in-laws staying with me! Grrrr!
>>438 I really respect BW for putting the hours in to promote his film - he's been at q&a all over the UK. And they're trying to do innovative and interesting things to promote it. Seems like it is working as recent reviews are better than a couple I saw in October which described it as uneven.
>>439 I know what you mean. One of the interesting things he mentioned last night was that the scheduling of the movie, following it's premieres on the festival circuit last autumn, was pushed back to now, so that it wasn't competing with Bond Spectre and Deadpool etc. He said that at first he was pissed off about the long gap, but it has actually been a positive thing as the film has gained traction and support through building word of mouth based on personal reviews, social media, festival reviews etc.
>>440 It's also benefitted from not being lost in the noise of everything TH was promoting last autumn. And it helps that TH is currently all over the tv in a well-received series. I am glad it worked out well for them.
The publicists for ISTL could learn a thing or two about word of mouth. I still think they killed it off in part by telling everyone how amazing TH's "turn" as Hank was, even when it was still filming. Better to have let people discover it for themselves.
>>441 I agree. I just can't get enthused about ISTL at all. I know it shouldn't matter, but for me, it is overshadowed by the whole THEO debacle. I felt really uncomfortable watching the new clip that came out last night, like a bit of grubby voyeurism.
>>442 It matters because somebody somewhere made it matter, wit their idiotic leaks to the press about the affair.
I'd be interested to know whether as a fellow Londoner you think that Pursegate was a chance encounter.
>>443 I should say, not in the sense that Luke called the press. But that if you genuinely want to be discreet and have a lovely dinner there are plenty of places you can go.
New Tom interview here: http://www.heyuguys.com/tom-hiddleston-interview-high-rise/
Apparently some twit from The Times is telling the 'posh totty' to put their shirts on.
Shut yer face, shut yer damn face!! Mr. Hiddleston may take off his shirt whenever he wants.
I missed this little star in the DM. An article rating the shirtless totty appearing on tv.
>>446 Don't listen to them, Tom! Take off your shirt! For... equality! Yeah, equality! Oh, and, uh... feminism! Yes, that's it! Feminism.
>>448 I'd almost forgotten about that absolute crock he'd peddled during CP promo. Feminist icons: Pankhurst, de Beauvoir, Friedan, TH's ass.
And he can't even sell the 'you need to be naked to have sex' angle because that sad attempt at simulating sex could have been done fully clothed...with the two of them in opposite corners of the room.
Just to remind ourselves, here is the interview: http://www.stylist.co.uk/people/tom-hiddleston-naked-feminism-he-for-she-crimson-peak-jessica-chastain
Oh Tom. My ovaries hurt - because I am laughing so hard.
I also found this which could have been - maybe was! - written by someone on here. http://bust.com/movies/14795-tom-hiddleston-shows-some-feminist-man-butt-in-new-movie-crimson-peak.html
>>450 GAHHH! Take that thing back from whence it came! Horrid interview.
>>424 Every time I see a still or clip of him from ISTL with the big head and skinny body I can't help but think of a praying mantis. Ever since his involvement in the movie was announced, I've cringed, especially when I see the singing. The vulture.com clip wasn't sexy at all. Just, ick. I can't. Can not. I'll wait until it hits cable to watch. (I may eat my words, as my friend wants to see it.)
>>452 Like this you mean? http://www.freakingnews.com/Praying-Mantis-Playing-a-Guitar-Pictures-96981.asp
BTW, speaking of curled toes and clenched buttocks, when is ISTL Premiere Part Deux?
>>454 The shenanigans begin Mar 21st with a Q&A with TH, EO and MA the director. Then the premiere is the next day Mar 22nd. This is all in LA. I don't know if there's going to be anything anywhere else.
>>450 the feminist angle was so forced and annoying. Just the gothic strained sexuality answer would've been fine. Good thing he's pretty!
And when we saw Tommin his waistcoat with that smile we were all the guy in the orange jacket: http://cheers-mrhiddleston.tumblr.com/post/140848418151
I think JVR is making fun of TH's giant forehead reflecting light: https://instagram.com/p/BCqGD75gDb6/
Even a couple of the fan girls were chatting that he's just trolling.
High Rise tonight! I shall report back later in a non spoilery way concerning Tom and Tiny Tom. Although everybody already knows it's not great to be a dog in this movie, don't they?
>>457 This made it over to twitter a few days ago and the hilarious part was that there was a bit of a debate about its completed - or not - state. Some fans were asking, Is it loading for you? or Do you think he'll upload the second part?
>>458 Oooooo, I just realized: TH has been pretty bad news for dogs of late: the dog in CP, Sophie's dog, the tasty Alsatian.
Bitches of the world...be careful. Ruff, ruff.
>>451 Sadly, I didn't write it - ohhh, how I wish I wrote pop-culture articles for an online mag called Bust. Maybe in my next life. Good for her for calling him out. And, I guess, he did take up her challenge of showing his penis, but not on purpose.
OH. MY. GOD.
More to follow when home. For now, this was everything I hoped for and a lot more besides.
Ok here goes. Format copyright Anon.
No of dumb animals that met a sticky end: 3
No of times I thought that I don't have sex on my dining table or my kitchen island nearly enough: 2
As for the audience and the dreaded q&a:
No of hipster beards in the audience out of a total of 225: about 150
No of fanboys of Ben Wheatley: ditto
>>465 Wait - so the 'how much did he work out/Loki' question was from a fanboy?
I saw some pictures on twitter and all I could think was take a picture of the audience! Anon will be wearing her Anon shirt!
TH will be on the Today Show on March 24 (9-10 EST). It's for ISTL, no mention of EO or MA.
There's a theme for the day: My Big Fat Today Wedding. Yeah, I'm not sure either. Maybe someone from the audience will get to marry TH??
>>466 It was. He spoke in the hysterical tones of someone who has had a massive erection that he can't do anything about for 2 hours so I am guessing that TH has the same effect on cray-cray fans of both genders!
>>465 How was the soundtrack? I'm desperate to hear the Portishead cover of ABBA. BW must be a nice guy because he loves ABBA. ABBA lovers are always salt of.
Has your husband clocked to your TH lurve?
>>467 It was funny, violent, sexy and anarchic. I loved it and it felt very Ballard-esque. The boy loved it too. I don't want to go all TMI on you but he was definitely wearing his "wait till I get you home" expression by the end of the film.
>>465 lol im shaking my head at the Loki winning in the supermarket fight question. Did anyone bring up any classism questions? I'm curious to know if any controversial or political questions/ comments came up.
>>471 Shhhhhh, Anon is getting some! Go to bed, young lady!
>>470 Soundtrack was great. BW talked about how he used Twitter to stalk Portishead and get them to do the cover. He is so sweet.
As to my TH lurve, my cover is as well and truly blown as Sienna Miller was in the movie. My panties have flown across the room so frequently in the last 3 weeks that there is no longer any denying it.
>>472 One question about choosing ethnic minority actors. Answer: considered it but no, as the co-op would have vetoed BAME residents. As to class, BW's view is that it was more subtle than upper class, upper floor - Wilder is a documentary film maker but is on lower floor because he is less well-off.
>>475 Round 2!! Round 2 sex is the BEST. Go back! Wake him up (always with the falling asleep after)! Demand that he answer to the name Tom and not get huffy about it!
>>477 cough*already did that*cough (not with the name calling I admit).
Ok, I am quiet now.
>>478 Yay Anon! :)
OMG the ISTL PR stink continues: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3488515/Tom-Hiddleston-ambitious-won-t-let-woman-close-says-RICHARD-PRICE.html
I expect nothing less from the Daily Fail. Enough incorrect facts to choke King Kong.
OT: The Cloverfield movie was great actually. Scary and funny. John Goodman was excellent. Still wish it had been HR.
>>481 I was laughing too, between the image of Tom's tiny little bum cheeks and the caption: "Fans are expected to see the X-rated moment Tom reveals his bare buttocks."
(Fun side note, the first time I tried to copy and paste the above quote I accidentally copied and pasted the image. Since you can't paste images on this website, it pasted the image title instead, which is apparently "couple having sex against a wall on TV show" in case anyone was wondering.)
>>482 I do see your point Anon.
My POV: since we're getting close to the release of ISTL, any mention of both TH and EO in the same article is a promo of the movie, be it positive or negative in this case, thus 'PR stink.'
>>479 Wonder who the "friend" was or if it was totally manufactured - that stuff I haven't read before. Agree the rest of the article was a hash of other articles thrown together and not got quite right. It reads like the journalist knows someone from Eton or Cambridge who knows him a bit and has cobbled something together to go around the three or four quotes they were prepared to give him.
>>484 Yeah, just looked at tumblr and it has imploded. God knows why as you get a better look in CP - and knowing the BBC this will be all you get (cf trailer of the Sophie scene which revealed all there was).
We never have had a proper bum shot have we? It has been either impeded by trousers at half mast or under a waterfall 3,000 miles away. Such a pity.
It's starting to be annoying to see him so often showing his butt butt :)))
Bottygate is now front page news in the Daily Telegraph!
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2016/03/12/tom-hiddleston-the-new-poldark-reveals-his-bare-buttocks-in-epis/ (PS no pic but they considerately publish a spoiler - though we have seen from the pic who he is shagging anyway)
>>489 Anon, given it is likely for this trend to continue (this isn't going to be our last arsegate), you should know that it's spelled (spelt) booty. It might be boouty in your parts, or boote in the French. ;)
My favorite quote was 'naked, wobbling buttocks.' The gifs all but make themselves. Still, tumblr will make plenty.
>>487 At some point, his ass will become so overexposed (pun!) that we'll just shrug our shoulders when it appears and get on with life rather than devote so many internet megabytes to it!
The opposite might happen, however. In which case, he's setting a dangerous precedent. Soon we will just expect ass in every film. 'Where was the ass?' we'll ask if it doesn't show up. 'I didn't pay $15 to not see TH's ass!'
>>491 I like butt-butt. 'Naked, wobbling buttocks sounds like the description of an old man. So sick for seeing it now, though. And he's nowhere near as overexposed as Cumberbatch.
>>490 But "booty" and "botty" connote two very different things, no? Well, they both refer to the same part of the body, but I think one refers to one's bum as a "booty" when it is exposed in a sassy and sexy manner. Whereas a "botty" is an oo-er missus Carry-On type of exposure. The marvellous description of "wobbling buttocks" and the breathless references to a totally non-X rated letterbox shaped backside flash struck me as having more botty-like qualities...PS the bum in CP was definitely a booty (or it thought it was, cf attempt at Beyoncé-esque gyrations).
>>490 PS he does have a mesmerisingly large and fleshy bum, especially for a skinny guy who runs a lot. There were several scenes in last week's episode of TNM in which his butt cheeks ate his trousers.
>>493 That could be! I'm not au fait on ass synonyms/slang. Nor on Carry-On qualifiers! I'm going to trust you and start spelling it both ways.
>>494 I saw that! I almost added it to one of my reviews under 'Number of times TH's bottom was hungry and helped itself to a meal of trousers' but I felt it was too long!
>>495 Did you come across Viz magazine while you were on these shores? It used to produce an annual "profanasaurus" including such gems as "hungry arse" and (my personal favourite) "furry bicycle stand" (ladyparts). I was thinking hungry arse all the way through ep3...!!!
Interesting article on the final shoot week of SI
>>498 I like Tom's physique in TNM. Coriolanus Tom and SI Tom (from the look of things) are a bit too bulky for my taste, but I'd rather see him bulked up than ISTL levels of skinny.
>>496 I remember hearing Viz spoken about - spoof articles type of thing - but never read an issue.
The moment when he got up from his sick bed to go see Roper was the 'hungry bottom' moment for me. Typical TH: no underwear probably.
>>497 >>498 That's the one. It was floating around both twitter and IG (and I imagine tumblr too) so I didn't bother. Some others are out. Seems like it was a wrap party with the now mandatory photobooth and props.
I won't link again because we all probably have it bookmarked, but Torrilla has some full body shots of the TimeOut photoshoot and...
>>501 Photo no 2/9 - I swear he has balls one side of the seam and cock on the other. It doesn't look comfortable.
His bollocks are absolutely massive but we already knew that: http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/tom-hiddleston/images/30986874/title/glamour-man-year-photo/b/30986874
>>502 That's exactly what it looks like. Maybe he's used to it? Maybe he wants to get the term 'moose knuckle' trending on twitter? Maybe EO needs to make a set visit - stat!
>>500 His bum got hungry again when it was wearing the swimming trunks and he got out of the pool - Torrilla has a pic of Corky handing him a towel.
PS Speaking of stalkers, your friend and mine from London/definitely not London has deleted her Twitter account. Was the forthcoming ISTL premiere #2 too much?
OT: I am going to Letters Live tonight. The line up remains a secret until the start of the performance but they have announced on Twitter that Benedict Cumberbatch will be performing! Apparently they had Gillian Anderson, Will Self and Tom Hollander on the opening night and Cumberbatch/Jude Law last night. If I see anything like that combo I shall be pretty pleased!
>>506 Enjoy Anon! Report back.
>>502 Also the Cannes photos from the OLLA promo: http://perezhilton.com/2013-05-28-tom-hiddleston-shows-off-big-penis-blue-suit-cannes#.VuWvD4wrLs0
>>506 We went last night. It was excellent. Cumberbatch, Jude Law, Danny Boyle, Carey Mulligan, Caitlin Moran, Toby Jones, who was excellent, and a couple of others. Hope you have an ace time.
>>508 We are going to meet each other soon, I swear! We need a special handshake or something.
Number of times Jed did what any sane woman would do knowing that TH was sleeping in a nearby cottage: 1
Number of times TH didn't need to bend down to kiss his love interest: 2
Number of times ED didn't need to bend down to kiss her love interests: 3
I should add:
Number of tweets in his tag: 1,200
Number of tweets mentioning or gifing the sex scene: around half
>>505 Maybe the overwhelming evidence of the existence - if not exact status - of a THEO relationship finally sent her over.
Or maybe she de-invested. Unlikely.
>>510 I am touched that I have somehow become a byword on this board for Hiddleston-fuelled romantic encounters. Nb: to truly "pull an Anon" you have to do him in the hallway before he's got his coat off. I'm sure you'll manage.
>>512 While we are OT: LL was excellent. Cumberbatch, Oscar Isaac (hot!! and reading a letter from Alec Guinness about how shit the script of Star Wars was!), Jeremy Paxman (best of the non actors by far), Hanif Khurwshi and Geoffrey Palmer, who read my favourite letter of the evening, from a British Ambassador in the Middle East in WW2, who had just been introduced to a Turkish colleague who rejoiced in the name of "Muatapha Cunt. Now we all feel like that on occasion, but only a Turl would put it on a card."
Re: asking directors for another take, yes, he did do that with Spielberg, and with Del Toro (reported by a journalist on a set visit), and with Alan Taylor (mentioned on the commentary). It seems to be his actual working technique - when he was talking about working with Spielberg he said he does it because once the director has a take he is happy with he understands what they want and feels like he can give an even better performance with one more take.
>>514 You know you've 'arrived' when you become a verb, Anon. :)
>>509 We really are! Secret handshakes would be very appropriate, considering the venue for Letters Live...
Number of guest appearances by Liddle Hiddles: ???
>>520 Are you suggesting we get a glimpse of LH (as I affectionally call him) in that scene? I think that might be ED's underwear/dress...but I shall investigate...for science!
Beyond that - let's be honest - that episode was all about LH. I don't think these episodes have titles, but if they did, this one would be 'The Exciting Adventures of Liddle Hiddles.'
I don't know!!! I have watched the gif a few (OK, 85) times for science and I can't make it out. It is sooooo frustrating, like the helicopter willy in the slumber party video. I think he is wearing a pouch - it looks like a pouch shape, all a bit neatly triangular. Also it is the BBC - I know they had a naked man in War and Peace recently but not in a sexual context. But then I think of HR and I wonder if he freeballs it in every nekkid scene. Help meeeeeee.
>>523 How do you think it stays on? Are there straps we can't see or is there a specific job for a person to stick it on with spirit gum? If the latter where is this job advertised?
My captcha was 'bone.' It knows.
>>522 'Help meeeeeee.' Oh, oh. The restaurant/wall scenes might have come too close on the heels of HR for Anon. Girl is fragile!
>>525 The capcha always knows!
Are we looking at the same thing? On the gif I linked to there is a dark triangular patch which looks to be too low down and too far over to the right to be anything she is wearing.
>>523 I will take anonsy (and her mad picture breakdown skills) at her word.
Here's someone auctioning his off. Seems this one uses ties.
Maybe one day the crazy Hiddlestoners of the world will be able to bid on TH's cock sock.
>>526 Yeah, he sort of put his nose and face towards it. It must be hard remembering the rules - what he can and can't do/touch/kiss - while still making it look natural and flowing. And do it while thinking of dead puppies so as not to get too excited.
>>528 For most British men I think it is Margaret Thatcher. Apart from the late Alan Clark.
>>521 I don't think that's Little Hiddles. Cock socks are always flesh toned, the whole point is to remain invisible, it looks the same color as the jacket. There appears to be a lot of fabric getting in the way. Damn those hideous whispy asymmetrical dresses.
Our boy - and his ass - were the open post on dlisted!
I'll keep it PG-13 with this quote, but head over for Michael K's take on straight sex and advice for TH! http://dlisted.com/2016/03/14/open-post-hosted-by-tom-hiddlestons-nalgas/#more-209319
>>531 I never knew what a Stottie cake was before now, but I have learned something. Thanks Michael!
PS imagine if the scene had been filmed in the style of Sons of Anarchy....
>>528 Thinking about the puppies didn't work with Corky!
And an interview about ISTL. Note hilarious "deliberate" mistake...
>>533 I saw that the other day when I watched it again...for science, but I don't think that's excitement. If you look at him getting out of the elevator when he's going to meet the IEA group, it looks about the same. This episode really was bulge-tastic.
>>535 I jest. I think that's just it lying there because there's nowhere else for it to go in those tight trousers.
As for the objectification: I think I said a while back that I felt like a man watching TNM, in that I know that in every episode a fit person of the opposite sex will get his kit off for few/no reasons connected to the plot. Suzanne Bier has been shameless about using his body for the tv equivalent of clickbait so I have no compunction about objectification! For example the showering under the waterfall scene - why? (and also if you are going to use his bum for ratings please have the courage of your convictions and get a bit closer).
>>534 Typical of some of these online 'magazines.' More laughable is the guy has got two comments pointing out his mistake and it still isn't fixed.
I doubt he had an actual face to face with TH, so going by some of those ISTL stills, it's not an unreasonable mistake!
>>536 Oh, I didn't think you were serious, but I wanted to point out that LH should get an IMBd credit for his multiple appearances and 'stunt work' in this episode. He was the real star - I'm looking at you, Stotti cake buttocks.
So, apparently some in the British press have anointed TH 'The man with the golden buns."
Say what you want about those tabloids...they know their way around a pun.
>>539 I actually only watched ep4 properly just now ( away with family at the weekend who yak constantly through tv shows). I am still mesmerised by how big his bum is relative to the rest of him.
Digital Spy did an interview with TH and have been releasing snippets. I don't think these have been linked here yet:
On his deleted TTDW scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjc1VrtgMD0
>>540 Or how small? As to mesmerized: I'm going to picture you - in your Anon t-shirt - with two big spinning Stottie buns over your eyes.
OT: I'm working from home today and using it as an opportunity to catch up on Outlander. Tobias Menzies does bad so well - both over the top and undercover bad!
>>542 Same! I am shirking from home as well hence watching ep4!
I know in the still pics you can only see what looks like a teeny tiny bum, but look at gif 1 of this set: he has a big butt. And as the Telegraph journalist remarked, it wobbles. Not the flat runner's bum one might expect him to have. And not a rock hard squat-created bum either.
>>543 I can't unsee those bloomers he pulls down in the first gift! And I'm calling it now: butt implants!! ;)
I did 2 years of bellydancing. It was a class I did in graduate school so as not to go crazy as I sat and looked at books all day. And that boy could have put all of us to shame, even the instructor. It's like his bottom half rotates on a ball bearing system.
BBBB - BallBearingButtButt!
>>540 You're right, I am losing my mind. Family trip was yesterday - not the weekend! I shall sue TH for buttbutt-induced injuries.
This is the reason I love the DM. How ridiculous is this!?! I would make a list of my favorite/most ridiculous parts, but I'd just end up quoting the whole article. If I had to makes Sophie's choice: that he's copying Bond by wearing a linen jacket to breakfast. Or that he has new blonde highlights. Or...see, I can't pick just one!
>>549 Wow, they couldn't even be bothered to spell his name correctly in the photo captions.
>>550 There are several typos/grammar mistakes. They may update soon, but the version I read had the well-known saying 'even the gentleman.' Like 'even after' but not like 'ever-steven.'
Insert facepalm gif.
>>549 Does this Tom is UBER FAMOUS now? Some of these pics with the fans came out earlier but the pap version is getting printed now. Wonder if his publicist sat on it until the time was ripe.
Speaking of good timings, that one tumblr user whose husband said he went to college with Tom is now talking about how many girls Tom used to bang in college. Which is well and fine (Tom's active sex life I mean) and all these claims are certainly making this tumblr couple famous among the fandom who are clamoring and asking for "what's his type spill the tea".
>>552 I was never deeply entrenched in the Hiddlestoner side of tumblr to really get to know anyone, so I could be wrong, but... I'm side-eyeing his story REAL hard.
>>553 As am I. Our misters are supportive of our crushes but I don't think my mister would ever be THIS supportive and THIS involved. This might be a case of two minutes of fame with a dash of troll bait.
>>549 I love this article. TH "living the life of an off duty 007" - accompanied by a photo of him spreading the contents of a hotel butter pat on a roll.
Random thought: we will never know if he does the walk of shame because he wears the same clothes every day anyway.
>>552 Showing your bum on BBC1 on a Sunday night will give you 5 minutes of fame in the DM. Über famous long term - not sure. Aidan Wossname from Poldark was all over the press for a few weeks for going shirtless but now they have calmed down again.
She is bonkers. Someone wrote a comment about a TH dom manip saying they preferred to think of him being more gentlemanly, and she had a (very lengthy) meltdown about how dear G was her dom and was a perfect gentleman, how they were "hating on" the D/s lifestyle etc etc etc.
>>557 PS he is not saying he was at the same college as TH.
Torrilla has all the pics of Tom Eating (a rather meagre brekker, it looked like).
>>555 But he's wearing a jacket - just like Bond! And Bond always butters his bread rolls. The comparisons are so obvious.
>>560 - The Man with the Golden Butter Pat? I see it now.
>>552 >>553 >>557 What a bunch of skeptics you lot are...yeah, I'm in total agreement. For all the reasons that have been mentioned and for the fact that these two blogs scream out for attention. I'm not going to doubt all the things that headline in his archive page: the D/s relationship, their recent loss of a premature child, her being tested for MS, unfairly missing out on a shelter kitten. I'm going to continue on in an existence where people don't make up those type of events for any reason. But sharing them on a social media blog isn't fully about 'connecting with people' or 'healing' - it's about garnering attention (that's how social media works). And while they may be looking for comfort from an unknown audience, or sympathy or empathy - these are all secondary to what anyone using a social media platform wants: attention.
http://www.bafta.org/new-york/whats-on/in-conversation-with-tom-hiddleston ISTL promo in NYC. BAFTA NYC is also playing the movie on 3.23, but it's sold out.
Seems like TH will be back and forth between the UK and US after filming wraps - on the 17, according to that well-established source: the DM! Next week in LA for ISTL promo and premiere, the week after that is NYC (see above). Then back here mid-April for the Times Talk and the Tribeca FF.
>>563 He's having a secret relationship with you isn't he? That's why he keeps going to New York. That's why you bought that handbag over Christmas. Admit it!
PS I saw him showering when I was at Cambridge. He is in fact the double dick dude from Reddit (who is multipally uncircumcised FYI).
>>562 I'm just heart-eyeing currently, cause I read this sweet exchange between them ('I'm with him!'; 'Yes, she's with me!'; 'I'm gonna order some food'; 'OK, do that'), and I'm just daydreaming about how they sit in the same room and blog gifs at each other. Absolutely not attention-seeking.
>>564 Yep. I was keeping it secret, but now I can reveal it to everyone. And, yes, he told me I should buy a big purse when we started our secret relationship; he said I might need it - don't know why?
And, we are the perfect couple because, like that woman on This Morning, I have two vaginas. It's a muracle (American pronunciation) that we found each other. And now we're going to run two blogs about our crazy sex life since it's technically an orgy every time we have sex because of the numbers of genitalia involved.
>>565 QAZZZZ! Yeah, maybe that's how couples talk to one another now? Crazy kids these days!
I'm excited too!! I'll be able to say I saw him in the flesh. I'm not going to ask any questions - not even about the scratches in Unrelated!!
>>565 You're back! We miss youuuuuuu!
If you've read back you will know that my young man has now rumbled me. Even so, and as a slightly hostile observer, he has conceded that the last 2 episodes of TNM have been "excellent", though he didn't think the first two were especially outstanding. There is good TH perving material in each episode to help you through any plot limitations.
>>566 OT: I loved that AMA. The best bit was the comment "I am so glad God didn't waste 2 penises on a prude."
>>568 I first read your post as 'My young man has now rumpled me' and I was all like 'Oh, yeah, I've read about that! Hubba-hubba and good for you!' :D
Anyway, I believe your guy's begrudging approval; those are the most valid usually :)
>>562 They blog a lot about their private life and in detail. Way more than those YouTube vloggers who live out their lives in front of the camera. I'm actually doubtful of the knowing Hiddleston this personally claims. Because I'm doubtful of anyone who says online they know a celebrity and then proceed to get internet famous because of it. It's definitely a big call for attention, that's for sure.
>>570 Yes, to the general amusement of the board, he did rumple me after seeing HR - speaking of sharing too much information on the Internet.... Good news is I know you were looking forward to HR and you won't be disappointed!
I am in love with the DM commenter who pointed out that the article described Kong:SI as a "$190 movie".....!
>>572 It's fine, Anon, I thought it was pretty hot :) And still not as TMI and cringeworthy as some of my posts on previous threads. Dreams anyone... Oh god. I blame fever.
You know what? I'm so going to pirate HR as soon as it's on the internet! I don't even feel guilty - I swear, I'll buy a DVD, or a Blu-Ray, or 3 Blu-Rays later! Just let me seeeeee it!
All this talk of purses brought this into my mind. Remember American Gladiators - or just Gladiators for Anon? They had a jousting event.
>>570 And he's going to stay that way! I once admitted to a Viggo Mortensen crush (which still exists!) and never heard the end of it, so TH will remain my dirty, little secret.
So, we won't be going to see ISTL or HR together - I think the possible moaning during HR would blow my cover.
>>574 What??? Did you share TH dreams on here? I missed those in my dive into the archives when I first found this board. Back I go!
Oh, I may as well, but I'm also desperate to see it on the big screen...for reasons.
>>576 I haven't heard the last of it yet by a long chalk. I was so merciless about the Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley crush that I am being made to suffer! (Mostly for pointing out that the idol has feet, and other body parts, of plastic).
>>574 Did you post a TH dream? Was it a hot one?? If one is not to have him in real life I'd like to think that one's subconscious would at least give value for money!
>>577 NOnonono, don't do that:) This was not an exciting dream, just a weird dream, no sexy TH, I don't know why I shared it (I still blame fever), and do those old threads ever disappear? Why don't they :(
>>579 Nope, it wasn't a hot one. My weird subconscious can't even do that much.
I would have posted a link by now so as not to seem teasing and attention seeking, but I really don't remember the thread and also...it's really not very interesting. Believe me!
OK, I found it now. It's in the 3rd thread, 800+ post. So embarrassing, and also full of late-night grammar mistakes, I think I'm not even going to link it. Whatever possessed me to share it, I don't know. Cringy all the way.
New allegedly exclusive i'vue with Cineplex about ISTL: http://www.cineplex.com/News/Tom-Hiddleston-talks-about-the-challenges-of-playing-Hank-Williams-in-EXCLUSIVE-interview-clip-from-I-Saw-the-Light.aspx?linkId=22297073
>>582 Oh god yes, I remember the dream. The Hand of Tom! I wouldn't be embarrassed - Anon. and I were talking about how he'd look in a fringed cowboy outfit!
TH is trying to answer questions in only 140 characters...it's not going well.
Questions are running the gambit: does he like tater tots, how does he incorporate gender equality into his work (we know the answer to this: bare ass), do you remember meeting me in Bangor?
His use of adjectives is out of control.
>>585 I just logged on and looked. Epic 140 character fail!
He has managed to stumble upon a question from one of the tumblr queen bitches, god help us. So tumblr will be full of vainglorious posturing tonight.
If you want MOAH Tom, this is an unedited version of his recent interview for Sight & Sound - original was pretty long anyway!
Now this kind of revelation I find interesting! http://youtu.be/awjgZA7h-IQ
Some set pics. Here is a boat:
>>591 Yes - though she forms part of Ms Unrelated's little coterie, and was eager to reblog the 2000-word justification without any suggestion that the question may have been inappropriate (or indeed acknowledgement that her chum might repeatedly have been a total cow to others). I tend to judge her by the company she chooses to keep.
>>592 It's definitely not lost on me that they're tumblr buddies. I never read through the explanation; Ms U turned me off long before that when she defended the bad behaviour of the Donmar post-show fans, referring to the criticism as fan shaming.
>>593 She's barely any better. I followed her briefly, then I read a vitriolic exchange with another blogger over the proper interpretation of TH's last article for the Financial Times (!!!). She tried to rub her enemy's nose in how clever she was. I hit unfollow when I read that. I had the privilege of being taught by some unimaginably clever people and the one thing they had in common was their modesty.
I guess we now await sightings in LA and/or with EO, in advance of Monday's screening.....
Seen not seen? Not by me.
>>597 Let's the funs begins!
I know that I'm the only one who wants to see ISTL. I think, I also may be the only one who wants THEO to exist. Yeah, to us she's about as interesting and cerebral as a piece of cardboard painted an off-beige color, and we all think he should end up with a cross between Rosie H-W (sorry, Anon) and Einstein - or Lex. However, it doesn't seem TH thinks the same.
>>600 Don't knock beige paint. It is very in at the moment ;)
I want a bit of hooking up, more purses and denials. It's all been going s,well. HR got great reviews, he is in every newspaper with ButtButt. Time for him/Luke/EO's thirst for a ree-lay-shun-ship (American pronunciation) to bring back the car crash!
>>600 I agree no guitar. Men who bring guitars to parties and insist on playing them to everyone - high scores on the twatometer. Men who travel internationally with their guitars for this purpose - very problematic.
>>603 And yet we know that he's the type! I'm almost certain that he'll do a concert thang like he did in Nashville after the LA premiere. I think the guitar went to Vietnam for practice and prep for that reason.
Maybe he and EO will 'rock up' during an open mic event at some LA club. They'll Sonny and Cher it with a few duos while making their love clear to all...I should be running his PR; I'd make it the proper circus it's always threatening to become.
>>601 Eeeek haha....I was not prepared for the first one in the massage table face rest (are these the 'relaxation treatments' or is he taking 'vitamin facials' from uh, somewhere), which looks like his just-woke-up face. Honestly, I wouldn't mind that face at the ass-crack of dawn....
>>605 He just doesn't seem to want what we want for him, so beige it is! Given HA's most recent boyfriend, I think TH may be too beige for her!
The Making of HR vid. TH at home? Maybe?
>>607 Positive ID. Compare books on shelves behind him with the books in this photo, which was taken at his home: http://twh-news.tumblr.com/post/129269659181/ancientfinnishgoddess-tom-on-facebook-17-sep
Both TH and EO will be on Jimmy Kimmel next week I believe. This will be fun. Let the THEO fervor commence!
>>609 Please baby Jesus let the mean tweets be the kitchen door ones.
>>610 LOL! I want them to be about pap night and her wailing. God, pap night was a performance indeed. Since they can't get any Oscar noms for ISTL, somebody give these two a new award FORGED especially for that display. At least, EO deserves one for all her hard work.
>>609 Together?!? Clapping hands ad infinitum! I don't watch JK, does he do mean tweets with every guest so that it's definitely going to happen?
>>611 Are they out of the game? I thought it had to be released in a certain number of theatres to qualify so maybe having pulled it in October they can say it didn't - and why would they be be publicising the Second Coming save for some remote hope of Oscar glory? It can't be for box office as it's clearly going to make about 2p!
Can someone please explain what is wrong with the kitchen door? ii keeps being mentioned here.... confused
For interest - a seriously poor review of HR in the Spectator, in both senses.
>>613 I don't think SPC have given up on this nag. I think they may be saddling her up and putting her in the gates. There are billboards up: ISTL on IG is running a 'Spot the ISTL Billboard' contest - so there's got to be a few. There are 3 different US trailers, all slightly different for different markets - that's planning, thought, money right there. They've got TH on at least one morning show, and now a major late night show with EO. I'm not in the know, but it seems a good push. They may even do the re-release during the Oscar bait Oct/Nov time.
>>614 The bicycle posted a series of tweets tagging him from last summer, from about a day after Pursegate, talking about hearing TH and EO having a row, her smoking in his garden and him running out to comfort her and them screwing against his kitchen door. Looked like the tweets came from a neighbour - or were fabricated to look like they did.
>>614 Oh, M!!! Anon should really report back as she's the one that discovered them. But on the townbycycle there were some tweets which seemed to be from a neighbor reporting on TH and EO. She/he seemed to be able to see into TH's backyard/kitchen and tweeted that TH first admired his naked self in a mirror, and then had sex with EO up against the kitchen door...but only lasted two minutes!
>>613>>616 The movie never released officially so this all seems obligatory movie promo to me. It's not even big. It's all taking place during the week of whereas if it was a big push, we'd see a lot more appearances, a lot more TV spots, a lot of everything basically. Whenever movies get pushed for awards, you always slapped in the face with all the promo and with ISTL, it doesn't seem that big. I mean if you weren't a TH fan, this would all be blink and miss.
>>618 I will see if I can find them. They were hilarious. The person never said they could see in and I doubt TH would screw where he could be seen, as you can get arrested for that apart from anything else, even if it's on your own property.
>>619 I must say I thought they would let it die more quietly than this. I think they still have some - unrealistic - hopes!
>>622 Didn't MA say ISTL was his dream project? That he'd been dying to make a Hank movie? He's part of the promo so I think he's still pushing at Sony for his baby and that's why it's getting the mandatory level of publicity a movie of that budget and size might get. In my humble opinion. He went and reedited the whole thing so he's still holding out hope.
>>619 True. Maybe it is all by-the-books level stuff - I have no idea. Any sane person wouldn't spend this much money on promo for a movie that's not been a critics' darling, but then studios aren't sane.
I'm going to go see it the moment it opens because I feel like it will hit theatres and then disappear quickly. 'One for ISTL, please.' My greatest shame?
>>614 Found them! I apologise to everyone for linking to the bicycle - though we all read it anyway on occasion and hey! it's Friday.
Anon. is right about the mirror and the 2 min part - I had merely forgotten these salacious details! The original series of tweets from the guy date from JArthy times. The second lot are from Pursegate times.
>>624 The house is in a private complex off the main road and has high walls - see the ice bucket challenge video. You couldn't see in from an adjoining property. There is a large apartment block behind but some distance away (see same vid) - I doubt you could see into the kitchen. You could probably see into the garden but you wouldn't hear a conversation. Hence my speculation at >>620 - if there is any truth in it at all. I did think it had the ring of an authentically pissed off neighbour though!
I don't believe those tweets or the JArthy ones for one same reason - they all came out after both pap night and the Tom&JArthy pub sighting had been made public very obviously and it'd been news for a while. I think I'd put more bank if these tweets came out when there were only whispers of THEO before the TOBY pic and pap night. But that's cynical me \(•~•)/
So the same neighbour saw both JA and EO, at his place?
>>625 Can you imagine if THEO had done the Bennifer level of public romancing?? A big fat rock on EO's finger with a grinning TH on the other arm. JArthy came SO CLOSE to that with Bora Bora. Standing with TH and two chefs in a known romantic restaurant at a known romantic hotspot as TH awkwardly hovers his hand behind JA is better than being ignored by TH as 6 hungry paps circle a wailing EO behind the Wolseley.
>>628 I know, I know - I mainly want to believe because they are so funny! THe self-love in front of a mirror, the 2 minute duration, the listening to her talking drivel in the garden. This is why Jimmy has to ask them!
>>630 Do you think JA came close? Bora Bora seems to have been a "thank you and goodbye" holiday. I love her for getting him to pose in that restaurant - perfect revenge. They may be about to split, and he is suffering from hover hand, but she WILL get that photo of them in island paradise onto social media. Sigh. I miss her. Even people on CB miss her. She would has done Pursegate right.
>>635 Enjoy your mini break!
There will probably be no further itty bitty buttock shots, tho preview photos suggest combats and fondling guns. If I have watched it on Sunday I might give a run down to keep you hungry.
>>632 That's what I meant. Even if it was a breakup holiday, JArthy got Tom and Bora Bora, closest thing to a confirmed something happened between them. Whereas EO got nothing. Even Hawaii was her showing up there while he worked and still many think it's not EO but Erin Moriarty. Girl can't get a leg up with TH anywhere unless her team leaks it. >>635 Have a lovely mini-break! And I knocked on wood and threw some salt over the shoulder while doing it!
>>600 I think we'll see a difference between who he has a good time with now (beige cardboard ladies) and who he ultimately ends up with (probably someone with a bit more substance). If he's 100% into his career and not ready to "settle down" into something serious, he likely avoids getting involved with women he'd be tempted to marry or move in with or whatever his idea of commitment is.
Pick, even. Damn you, Apple!
>>640 I think you're right. EO may be straining to bring this one home, but I don't feel it. I wonder if he might go for someone not in the business as Eddie Redmayne did. No competitiveness and it makes scheduling, childcare and having some kind of married life a lot easier.
>>641 Apologies I posted the wrong link. Here's the right one: http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwtv/article/Scoop-JIMMY-KIMMEL-LIVE-on-ABC-Week-of-March-21-2016-20160318
>>644 She's promoting ISTL and he's on it for Night Manager. It seems like it's more different projects than couple awkwardness.
But that's no fun! So I'm going to go with >>640 and >>643 stick with beige cardboard lady no. 2 (or EO) tried to wrangle him into a happily ever after after unceremoniously dumping her fiance but Tom aka Mr. Ambitious with Buns of Gold denied her offer and continues to focus on his work. His work. It's all about the work you guys.
OT (a bit - it is still TNM-related): The Sun has an article today entitled "Failed romances and party lifestyle of sex thimble Tom Hollander"....!!!!
New to me. Apologies if it has been posted before. TH interviewed by Empire in HR: http://youtu.be/teLC7_72B4Y
Interview in The Tennessean with TH and others: http://youtu.be/yC5VkT8afII
A couple of pics of Tom in Hanoi. https://mobile.twitter(.)com/reeltourshawaii/status/711093605658546176?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
>>607 If you were wondering about the origin of the rather dreadful painting at Maison Hiddles, this explains it: http://thelonegrasshopper.tumblr.com/post/141285691957/same-painting
>>647 Nice interview. I can appreciate the effort he puts into his long, drawn out answers in other interviews, but they can come off as arrogant. This time, he really shines in these short, to-the-point, intelligent replies.
New brief interview with the NY Daily News: http://m.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/tom-hiddleston-plays-country-star-light-article-1.2570741
>>654 "Bashful" about the social media attention to his arse? Oh come on, Tom. You snake-hipped those bare buttocks on purpose.
>>655 And when Liddle Hiddles made an appearance on Twitter, you tried to tweet-bomb us!
This just popped up: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDMsYbmLjov/
from British Esquire photo shoot at Casa de Arroyo in Pasadena, California. Looks like we'll be seeing another magazine spread soon.
I watched it - very hard to do this without spoilers so it is somewhat truncated, but:
No of times TH showed that he would be an excellent presenter on QVC: 1
>>660 Is that his ISTL suit? It looks kind of.....brown!
According to tumblr this is for an imminent edition of Esquire. If so I assume it was done in January when he was in Pasadena for whatever it was (TNM publicity? I can't remember) and is being dropped now as a teaser.
And the cause of the leak was - sending out pre-ordered DVDs several weeks early! How hopeless is that?!
>>661 Still haven't watched it. the final ep leaked, but I want to wait till next week to watch.
>>662 These might have been taken in Jan but TH is likely in LA because Eo was spotted having a PDA moment on a street corner. yep, that's how my reasoning works with these two! no confirmation it was TH and no pic. I won't link the account for reasons, but the person is not a fangirl or a gay porno pap!
>>666 I am assuming he is in LA for the premiere tomorrow and for Jimmy Kimmel - is it recorded in LA? That red carpet will be interesting. You don't snog someone on a street corner, especially when he is on every magazine cover in town due to his new tv show, unless you want the news out there.
>>666 PS I am in awe of you for finding this stuff because her tag is full of the most dreadful junk. It's not even heart eyes emojis - it's all spam for unrelated beauty products or celeb gossip sites!
There is an ISTL Q&A today with TH and EO so TH should definitely be in LA. >>666 the person saw EO getting cozy with someone today or yesterday?
>>661 How was the acting? I'm home. We left NH early to avoid the snow - spring, my ass. I'm going to watch it soon. Ready for the panties to fly at 'shhhh, shhhh!' That's my new favorite TH line.
>>667 I think they think they're undercover in LA as long as they don't go to celeb spots. Tweeter might have gotten it wrong, but I just don't think all these sightings are fake. Shoulder shrug.
>>670 No, I don't either. The "hooking up" continues!
I can't wait to see how he/she/they play it. The balance of power has changed a lot. In May last year a lot of people commented that she was a bigger name (at least in the US, and off the internet) and speculated that he had more to gain by this pairing than her. Now he has huge visibility from TNM and HR has been well-received in the UK, which bodes well for the US. He has a public image which I am sure he will feel benefits by appearing to be footloose and fancy free - and women lying on their backs as far as the eye can see. Will he hold hands/kiss on the RC? This is more gripping than ep5!
>>666 I've been through the last three days of her tag and I didn't see it. Was this an evil joke for post 666? Devil's number and all? ;)
>>672 Okay, seen it. I missed the 'shhhh, shhh' part, but I'll re-watch. Agree about TH - sometimes he gets it, sometimes it's a little wooden/forced/mannered. I don't know, perhaps he's being too cerebral and thinking back to RADA lessons rather than becoming the character in that gut way some actors do. Maybe he needs a pork pie hat like MR. Maybe that's the secret to great acting - a pork pie hat?
>>673 No, I didn't even notice that. :) I promise it's real. I suspect someone will stumble upon it soon but that won't be on me.
>>674 Did you spot the posh, slightly braying voice bit?
Unfortunately two of my most favourite to series ever were the Le Carré pair starring Alec Guinness. He is such a consummate performer - and they too were adapted from densely plotted novels - but somehow without feeling as though we were skating over essential character motivation that was there in the book.
I'm crap with accents. Was it after he and Corky were spotted on the slope? Before the 'crunch.'
>>678 Oh yes. Wan Hundred Per Cent!
Remember this? I found it after I'd been a fan for a while and I did think that IRL he was a LOT more like the slightly bleating Old Etonians with whom I work than I had initially thought. He has definitely got a deeper "acting" and interview voice which is also less honkingly posh.
>>675 Torrilla has some more shower shots. I love how the canvas camp shower has mysteriously lost its front panel mojo, sagging down to reveal his abs. I used showers like these on safari - put it this way, I didn't see any 3.5 sided ones! The gratuitous nudity has achieved joke status at this point.
>>676 Well, as it turns out, Marc Abraham is in Los Angeles and did at least one of the ISTL interviews today with Tom and EO, so maybe HE was the one she was PDA-ing!
A possible THEO sighting that supposedly happened but cannot be found by anyone else but one person on this board who isn't willing to share the link.
Sounds legit. Lol.
>>683 Anon. has been commenting on here for a long time. She often picks up tweets that nobody else saw, and she used to post links to those tweets. Unfortunately we acquired a troll who used those links to go on Twitter and harass and abuse the person who tweeted the sighting. So by mutual agreement we stopped posting the links to any possible Twitter sightings of THEO.
Sorry but I also went through EO's mentions going back months and there was nothing. Nada. Usually when there is an THEO sighting it's either in her tag or his and there's no special thing anyone has to do to find these sightings. They just appear. There are people who plant sightings just as there are people who bash THEO and attack the people who tweet the sightings. Just saying...
Besides all of these Twitter sightings don't matter. Tomorrow at the premiere I think they are going to finally come out as a couple and end all of the speculation. And you know what, good for them.
>>681 It certainly runs in the family. Do we want to place bets on whose hand EO will hold at the premiere? I feel like TH's lack of touchy-feely-ness with EO is almost proof of something between them; he's nearly fathered the children of most of his co-stars on the red carpet, and lately that of his female director. But with her, nothing. It's almost like reverse psychology.
>>687 They were pretty touchy-feely in Nashville, though, more like Tom's usual - the awkwardness and denials were pretty centered on TIFF, I think because it was so soon after Pap Night. It'll be interesting to see this week if they continue with the normal interactions like we saw in Nashville, or if they go back to the TIFF standoffish behavior.
>>672 Re: TH's acting - I finished watching all episodes tonight and I think I get what you're saying. He's too good of an actor (debatable, perhaps) to play Pine flat. He must have been directed to play a lot of his acting through his eyes but it wasn't right, and I kept waiting for the rest of his face to catch up, or for Pine to say something. When he smiled in some scenes, it felt out of place, or maybe it was the timing...hard to put my finger on it. Intimidated by HL?
Okay, EO on Kimmel:
>>687 My pleasure.
You've set a hare running though - someone has whizzed over to the bicycle asking her followers to find the tweet!
>>693 I still think it is/was casual enough that labeling it a "relationship" would have been an exaggeration, thus the denials coupled with the occasional sighting. Most people don't want to remain sexless for extended periods of time, and I'd imagine as someone in the public eye it's difficult to find a partner you can trust - and why invest all that time and effort in building trust with a stranger when all you're looking for is something casual? It makes sense that they'd hook up. They've known each other for a few years, they filmed together, they're promoting together, they're in and out of each other's home cities, and they're both very career driven at the moment and probably not wanting anything too serious.
OT and for Anon:
MR...naked...with a dead fish...and a pork pie hat. Yes, the DM will show up in your browsing history, but think of the rewards!
>>696 That's a tad more of MR than I want to see!
Where is TH in this photoshoot with his manhood encased in a giant scallop? I feel cheated.
>>697 HA! Giant scallop indeed! What would be his marine life prop of choice? An octopus with nine tentacles? Or just one gooey duck!
>>695 Black dress, peekaboo shoulder lace, high-waisted, pseudo-waif-manic-pixie-dream-girl aesthetic. Like she was going to a goth prom as a fairy but without wings.
>>700 I'm giggling - goth prom fairy! I have a feeling you did a perfect job of describing it! I'm going to go look right now.
She writes for Esquire, so maybe this will go with the wet suit pics.
He is turned toward her, but it looks like they're in TIFF-mode body language wise.
And finally...his 'groomer' is ill, so she's wearing a mask! She's either too precious for words or she's undercover playing out her TH doctor fantasy.
>>704 It's so she isn't recognised and chased with sticks for making him look orange on the red carpet.
I am always kind of sad when I see that even a man with only two pairs of casual trousers has a "groomer"
>>703 God, I hope she is wearing a beige top or that is one seriously low cut outfit! They both look pretty miserable. Maybe they've read the reviews.
>>703 That's some serious side- boob paired with King Kong's claw. My side- boob theories are:
a) On display to gratuitously flaunt what he can no longer touch. Revenge boob.
b) On display to lure Little Hiddles to 2 second wall sex. Seductress boob.
>>704 Damn, the pic is not viewable, and the account appears to be gone. Who was the picture of?
>>708 It is from my computer. Perhaps try a different device? I think it's his groomer. She's since posted a second shot. She also has/had a personal IG account from which she posted the odd TH pic during her travels/work.
>>705 I think she's a newer groomer, from the CP onward time (I think). Ugh - that Thor premiere! He looked positively tomatoey.
>>707 Surely she must have a shirt on?!? I think I can just see a delineation from her skin to the shirt. No way she would wear something like that for a press day - revenge or seductress boob theories (which are excellent) aside!
>>710 Thank you Anonon and Anon. I can see the first link from my computer now, but not from my iPhone earlier.
(Not so) hot off the presses - the RC: http://precursorpress.tumblr.com/post/141520631342/tom-hiddleston-at-the-los-angeles-premiere-of-i
And here's the FirstLook link. Besides for twitter, I've found pics tend to show up here first.
Happy Hiddling, ladies.
And finally (no, I really mean it), a periscope vid.
Lizzie thought she was going to the Marvel premier and dressed as Endora from Bewitched. I am grateful she has discovered red.
>>717 My bad gown prediction was right! I am a psychic. About the eye - I wonder if it's an eye lift gone slightly wrong.
>>717 I would usually say she's too young for an eye lift if her nose wasn't so dramatically chipped and her face didn't have the glow of a thousand botox needles.
The gown is actually so ill fitting sceptics could again argue she is deliberately trying to look pregnant. She's a strong contender for fug of the year.
>>718 At least it's not black. Color looks good on her. I find her style so strange - while I'm glad she isn't falling out of a latex dress like a Kardashian, she does have a lovely figure (as my grandmother would say), so I'm not sure why everything she wears is so ill-fitting!
>>720 It all looks like very usual behavior for Tom with a leading lady to me. EO does have a tendency to make that "I have a naughty secret" face in photos, so I'm not surprised to see it in some of the pics from tonight. Actually they both seem more like their usual red carpet selves, thank god... maybe because there's nothing to hide anymore?
Spoiler alert: Tom is wearing red socks with his blue suit, and he yodels.
And they showed a clip of him singing. Talked about Bernie Danders, Migel Faraj (blechhh). Mention of TNM, Bond, taking the time of Hank seriously and training to sing with RC. They ended with Jimmy persauding him to yodel.
>>725 According to Twitter and Instagram (and Torrilla photos) he arrived alone, a good half hour before EO. And by alone, I mean with Olly, of course.
Can I be controversial and say I don't like his suit? The fabric was stiff and I thought the stitching in the lapel and its shininess made it look cheap (I am sure it wasn't). Also is there no middle ground between really dull dark navy and knock your eye out blue? It somehow worked for the Reiss suit - but translated off a fun high street piece to high end designer gear I am not sure it does.
>>726 Can I just say for the avoidance of doubt that the General Election was NOTHING LIKE the primaries. Trump makes Farage look almost normal (no mean achievement). And the press treated him as a fringe nutter, albeit one who might do some damage in marginal seats.
>>729 I wondered about Nigel (bungled spelling earlier, sorry) compared to Trump. Who were his core supporters?
>>723 Maybe the red socks were TH's way of confirming a relationship: 'Yeah, I had white socks but then I washed them with my FB's red curtains, and later she made those curtains into a dress, so, yeah, we're people who sometimes wash their socks and curtains together.'
>>732 Whoa! Baby steps. That's for a post-engagement appearance!
>>730 That's an interesting question. The assumption before the election was that Farage would take voters from the right - however it now appears that more damage was done to the left (http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/may/23/labour-win-working-class-voters-ukip).
Okay, I'm not going to spend my last day of vacay searching his 1,400 strong twitter feed for anything juicy, but here are some links. I'm not as good at this as Coach, so it's not anywhere near complete:
A little dancing TH:
>>736 The one where he lifts his arm near his face. It's the first pic in the link - he does it all the time. He looks like a tit when he does.
The weather is gorgeous, from snow to sunshine/70s in two days! So, I've abandoned that whole productive thing and have taken up with a book and iPad at a cafe. I'm imagining that TH gave EO a goodbye shag last night and has already landed in NYC. I'm sure he'll be strolling by any moment now. He'll stop for a coffee, there won't be any tables except for mine, I'll invite him to sit, we'll fall in love and end up on a date tonight (I've brought my purse for just such an occasion)!
Perhaps the most extraordinary news to me of the whole day. Tom has a stylist. To put together this - https://www.instagram.com/p/BDTf_d4yqJ0/
How crap is he at shopping?
>>738 My thought equation on that one goes: male stars with stylists = some people have too much money.
Lainey talking truth to power about our boy and Bond http://www.laineygossip.com/Tom-Hiddleston-yodels-and-talks-about-possibly-playing-James-Bond-on-Kimmel-while-promoting-I-Saw-The-Light/43413
>>739 That is a good spot. I am super impressed. It is like one of those tumblr photos entitled "my cat is in this picture - can you see it?"
I did think he was wearing pants under the blue suit because it was riding quite high instead of escaping down his trouser leg like usual. Do we think the stylist bought them?
>>737 Oh I see what you mean. He wasn't quite doing it in the photo you linked to as the hand was at half mast. My personal bugbear is that he never takes his hands out of his pockets.
>>740 As for the stylist.....I couldn't agree more. Who would admit to having "styled" the most boring outfit on God's earth?
>>744 Heart eyes! (Again). You're on fire lately, anonsy.
Another funny article about how our favourite eager puppy runs in circles and then piddles whenever someone mentions Bond: http://www.vox.com/2016/3/23/11290654/hiddleston-kimmel-james-bond
He tweeted a pic of himself with Bernie Saunders. I don't know why this makes me cringe but it does.
>>737 That thinking man pose makes me want to hammer him into a cube. No. No. No. No. No!
I can only assume that as a creature of habit he was once told by someone he respected that it looked great so he's doing it all the time forever more. I noticed it's creeping into his acting in TNM. He did it on the scene in the plane and I cringed so hard I created a permanent wrinkle.
>>747 Preach! Preach! Heart eyes, Anonon, major heart eyes. (Is that your first official heart eyes?)
Twitter is alive with the Sounds of Denial... http://www.eonline.com/videos/247064/elizabeth-olsen-and-tom-hiddleston-talk-romance-rumors
>>746 I think he would have tweeted a pic with whomever the other guest was. But maybe it marks him as a 'man of the people' and not a 'man of Eton' if he's seen with a liberal politician.
Or maybe it's his Jeremy Corbyn love coming through. Bernie's the American Corbyn, or Corbyn's the British Bernie - take your pick.
>>748 How many times do you think they'll have to be asked before one of them snaps and starts shouting "IT WAS JUST SEX! LEAVE US ALONE!"
>>750 Yeah. I'm side-eyeing them both - biggie tyme. It's on twitter as "EO and TH laugh off those pesky romance rumors.' Oh, you silly, gossipy internet people - you are so ridiculous. We're friends. I mean, you can think what you want, but we're laughing them off.'
The final few paragraphs describe the 'semi-madness' TH descended into in order to grab himself some OSCAH (Michael K trademark).
This interview makes me think TH may be missing a screw or two. He's still using words like 'genius' when speaking about MA and this movie. Christ.
At the very end EO talks about TH being at 'the finishing up of Marvel land.' She may just be talking twaddle, but maybe she's in the know and Thor III is the end for TH.
>>753 I wonder about him sometimes. Is he trying to talk up the movie to get people to see it? Does he view his projects through rose-colored glasses? Is he in denial? Does he just have poor judgment?
Scarlet Witch will be in Infinty War, so EO very well may already know that Loki isn't involved. I'd personally be glad to see Tom out of the Marvel universe, so hopefully Thor 3 will be the end for him.
>>748 In addition to calling MA a genius, he is calling EO a great actor.
The interview question about dating was whatever is the exact opposite of "going for the jugular". "Exactly how stupid were those poxy dating rumours that your people planted with the gullible tabloid press?" If EO is still riding the Hiddleconda she better be very sure the relationship is going nowhere because they are going to look very silly when they announce their engagement and forthcoming birth of baby Hank.
>>756 I couldn't help but read your faux Tom quote in the petulant child voice he used in the Josh Horowitz Worst Party Ever video - "He doesn't like it! Go away, Freddie! We don't need you anymore! Why doesn't he like it?!"
He's going to be on Colbert on Monday - did we know this? First slot, apparently.
>>761 Crap. We can only hope someone in the audience has a tranquilizer gun in case he starts to go hyper.
Hopefully, they won't talk about: yodeling, Bond, his naked bottom, possibly breaking up a co-star's engagement, British politics or Eton. Although I think they may poke fun at his bottom again. It does seem the obvious topic of late.
>>755 oh, it is totally rachet, but I love it, maybe even lurve it! Michael K is my gossip blog hero. His THEO posts were comment heaven. I remember one saying TH's hairline was the stuff nightmares were made of and that EO looked so old in her Morticia Adams dress that she was following in her sisters' footsteps and heading for 'Trollsen territory.'
>>762 "Hello, is that the Eton bursar' office? We have a "Damian Lewis bum out" voucher that we'd like to redeem."
She's right - we are strangers talking about something we don't really know about. And all we can do is speculate based on what's thrown into the public arena. But as Anon said >>757, the first rumors - in a quasi-legitimate magazine which she'd previously used as a mouthpiece - seemed to come from a camp.
>>765 She hasn't said the speculation is untrue I notice!
But yeah, I am starting to really dislike her and her "mind your own business, losers" approach to this. They (she?) fed the beast twice (maybe three times f you count the "it's over" article) and as I have said a bazillion times before, if you want to have fun and be discreet in London it is easy to do so. A lot of famous people live here and they rarely get papped.
The look on their faces at 2.05 sums it all up. They even had to edit that ramble.
>>767 God that was so dull. Is the Today show a breakfast show in the US? Did people have to ensure that without their morning coffee?
And we know that Rodney was gagging to enjoy 6 weeks of bromance and more, so stop this humblebrag about how nobody wants yo ass in their house.
Endure, even. The blood has stopped flowing to my typing extremities with the boredom.
This is an interesting one. I linked it above with the comment that it said it was 'official' but seemed to just be his groomer taking some BTS shots.
>>770 "The official Instagram for the adventures of Tom Hiddleston and his team as we cross this crazy world" - yes I think you are right. She wouldn't be doing her own social media featuring him without his agreement - for example Olly doesn't tend to post pics of TH.
>>766 Well, no, because they already tried that...and it didn't work.
I think hypocrisy tends to hit most people in the gut - hard. And that's what this is: Look, notice, be interested...few months pass....no, we don't want you to look, notice, be interested. Ugh, addressing these silly rumors is so tiring for us...why did we ever start them!
>>770 PS he is posing by a signboard to the Orange Room. Brave man!
I popped over to CB to see what clickbait they made of the latest (non)denials. Nothing very exciting (she thinks EO is lying and I don't think she is terribly impressed), but I did see a link to this delightful illustration of Just How Bad that Dress Was:
>>765>>766 I don't like how she goes overboard with her "denial" and starts bashing the fans and gossip readers instead. They made it our business by first leaking it on US Weekly otherwise no one was thinking about THEO. Then the tabloids continued. And now they're acting like it's all other ppl's fault for being nosey and not theirs for starting it and continuing it. If you want to keep things on the downlow then don't tell the tabloids about it. Tom wasn't so anti fan in his supposed denial but EO goes really does overact in her denials and dismissals. Pap night included. You asked us to care and when the cheating came up and the movie flopped, now it's all our fault. If they are in a relationship, it really makes no sense to hide it like this. But if all they're doing is hooking up whenever the mood strikes well then they can't exactly come out and say we're just fucking because I don't think that'll jive well with the squeaky clean images both are trying to project in the public. Lol instead they'll blame the same people who they were targeting to carry their tabloid rumor and make them talk of the town.
>>774 That dress was all sorts of wardrobe malfunction in the hi def pics. You could not only see thru the dress but thru the bra as well and clearly make out the shape and size and color of nips and bits. If you catch my drift. Innocent or for someone or something's benefit who knows.
My, you've all been busy! This is the first chance I've had to peek in at work today.
>>768 Yes, the Today pill, I mean Show, is a tranquilizer for unsuspecting humans. It sucks. I recorded it but really it's gotten to where I dread his press tour interviews for all the reason you've all written out above, no need to repeat. Sycophant is not a good look on you, TH. Surely he can find something original to say about ISTL and country music besides what he keeps repeating.
There comes a time in a man's life when he's asked to yodel.
>>774 Oh, it's worse. One boob-centric blog pointed out that with the flashbulbs, her nipples are visible in some shots. The color was nice, though.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BDVlutyqGK1 The film center is a half-mile away from my apartment. I sort of what to go stroll around Houston and Broadway and see if I can spot him on Friday, but I think that might put me too deep into fanland...like Jonathan Pine deep.
>>777 The original things I want him to say about ISTL:
1) The movie is shit and I made a mistake.
2) I'm banging EO on the down low. What of it?
I might be in the minority but after seeing the ISTL premiere's live footage, I don't think TH and EO are even banging anymore. However much they were getting it on, I think it died down after Hawaii. But that's just me, I could be wrong.
>>782 EO hates you for caring. LOL.
I didn't watch the footage so I don't know. It can present a totally different impression from still pictures. But whatever your view, that's cool. The best thing about being around here is that there is no party line. Having read lots of vitriolic CB threads and crazy tumblr exchanges I can't say often enough how important that is. FWIW I am pretty sure anonsy agrees with you!
>>781 I don't put all my faith in Rotten Tomatoes (Con Air - only 54%!), but it's a fairly accurate measure of movies. ISTL is now at 19%. Gods of Egypt is at 13%. This movie is only 6% better than Gods of Egypt. And yet, he's out there like a true company man, spreading the gospel. It must be so hard for him to let the dream die.
Another premiere? Showing? https://www.instagram.com/p/BDWvFEyL6CT/
He's meant to be on the Charlie Rose show tonight. There will be links up tmr.
Whatever they had, whether they still have it - we're not meant to care, and we're not meant to talk about it. Otherwise, EO will send her sisters after us; they'll suck out our souls and use them to construct awful clothes.
There was a screening tonight. Wrenn Schmidt is wearing Self-Portrait. I actually have this dress - I like their stuff a lot. I think girl paid for this dress herself - it wasn't lent to her, it wasn't a freebie. And she probably styled herself. WS is all of us!
>>783 that's exactly why I love this board and keep coming on here. No one attacks you for your opinion and everyone has a good laugh! On EO painting herself into a corner, yeah if whatever they have turns serious it'll be fun to volley those questions :P
I saw an IG comment that he smelled really good; I've heard that before from some of the fans. Are we ever gonna find out what he wears? Is it something high-end like Clive Christian, or is it bespoke and we'll never know the formula?
Someone asked the new stylist, in one of the comments on her IG , if they can get an address to send a basket to her as thanks for dressing him so nicely. ....
>>792 Don't do it, Stylist! Don't tell them! They'll show up at your house!!!
>>791 Yeah, I give it to her for this look. It's great. The waistcoat is what I'd call a very traditional old-fashioned English, Savile Row style. Love to know who it's by.
Not sending a fruit basket just yet! Torrilla's pics of the Today suit show that it as shiny and didn't fit over his new muscle manboobs. Also that he was wearing a shiny satin tie. My dad used to wear those in the 70s and it was not a good look then.
I thought he wore Farenheit by Dior. It was during while he was shooting CP and meeting fans and someone asked and his assistant on set mentioned it was Farenheit. I've sniffed it once when I was in Sephora and it was a very clean crisp scent. Even if you put on too much, it doesn't overpower.
>>795 I hadn't heard that. I will go sniff next time I am in Selfridges.
After a bit of googling around, I found this tumblr post:
Summary: the two scents people usually mention Tom possibly wearing are Farenheit by Dior and Armani Code. The above tumblr poster met Tom, smelled both colognes at a later date, and settled on the Armani. But - a lot of people do change his scent depending on the event or season, so it's very possible he uses both.
>>797 Should say "do change their scent" not "his scent." That's what I get for not proofreading!
I think this is new. And contains some original thoughts: http://youtu.be/nbyAk2B7gDg
Watch to the end for a more original way of asking about THEO!
Apparently he was on Charlie Rose. There are a lot of chat shows in the US! And he is doing all of them. I am surprised that they are pushing ISTL so hard.
Seems that suit is by Ralph Lauren. How big is his entourage now? The cheeseboard personnel seems to be different from the stylist and I count at least 4 hangers on (sorry, helpers) in their pics. Here is the stylist. She also styles Ben Affleck, whom I hate: https://www.instagram.com/ilariaurbinati/
I scored 100% on this: https://www.yahoo.com/movies/tom-hiddleston-elizabeth-olsen-test-221209190.html
That's not her bra, DM, that's part of the dress. The visible bra was on the other co-star.
>>799 Nope. We need:
>>794 Maybe part of being a 'top stylist' is knowing how fabric 'shows' on different mediums. It was a shuper shiny shuit in pics - but didn't look it on the tv interviews he did that day.
Also, maybe he just really wanted to emphasize his man-boobs!
>>809 It is like catnip for women - and men, on my limited experience. I am so glad you verify its universal appeal!
>>809 I saw a pic that showed his shoes with the shuper shiny shuit. They were a dove grey suede. They were cute. I wonder if he will now wear a different outfit for every appearance.
But who are all the other people in the team? I still want to know what they contribute. God, it must be expensive being an up and coming movie star to drag around all those people.
Have you seen this?
>>811 The red head is the groomer. The African American woman is PR - she was with him during CP. I have no idea who the dark haired woman is - maybe the PR woman's assistant? Maybe a back-up groomer (heaven forbid his hair loose height!). And we all know Olly - TH's lady maid.
>>813 I saw a clip which - I think - led up to this moment. EO was speaking with her minder when TH walked up. Watch EO's face and how the minder is for-got-ten!
>>812 QAZ!! I've never tried in on myself - and I'm sure it depends on body chemistry - but it werked on Mr. Foreign Office. Bond 9 is another classic. Maybe TH will start to wear it in an attempt to get THE role!
Happy Easter! I'm so ready for the end of Lent.
>>813 Yeah I saw that happen in real time. It's interesting how this interaction looks isolated in a GIF compared to how it went down.
Happy Easter everyone!
Oh, yeah, they's iz pushing this. Screening in Chicago with Q/A after with MA and TH. He's also done radio interviews today. And he and WS will be at an Apple store - I think in Midtown, although there are about a dozen in Midtown - to do a Q/A.
>>819 Classic! I ate all your bees!...Have I joined a cult?...My oven can cook bits of oven! I still re-watch often - along with Father Ted.
From our old friends at Elle - although this is the US Elle, not UK.
>>822 The exotic appeal of the flyover states! The sequestering himself away with Rodney! The wearing of the feminist t shirt which turned out to have been made in a sweatshop by a woman earning 80p a day!
We are in for a lot more of this. It's like the TTDW tour only without a decent movie to promote.
>>824 The lower one could also be his iPod. He still has one (so retro!). When he is on the RC you can see one in his suit pocket and not I think two.
>>824 New grey polo shirt. Boring. I actually like his own choices better.
What have I said?
He says the only singing he's done is in Cymbeline. Ummm, someone's forgetting his Oscar-worthy turn in The Pirate Fairy.
>>827 Olly has to listen to the drunken singing at 11pm while they're on the road.
Now this is an adorable selfie for his Twitter q&a!
>>820 Yep, SPC are giving it a fair-ish chance. Aint-it-cool-news has always had a lot of pull with the geek crowd. Comic book movies, action movies, horror movies, sci-fi movies, remakes of comic book, action, horror, and sci-fi movies - you get the idea. (Just go to the link in >>820 and look at the topics on the right sidebar.) Harry, the geek guy who runs it, gets into advanced screenings all the time. His positive reviews about an early cut of a movie really matter to the movie producers. So they'll get him to announce these free ticket event promos for many movie openings.
We re-watched ep5 tonight as a preparation for the grand finale. Caption: "Contains distressing scenes." Husband: "Hiddleston's putting his clothes back on, then."
Oh, I'm just catching up, so much goings on!
New shoes (I like!), new grey polo, meh.
>>820 I can shed no light on PR or promo, I'm in the biz on set only (and some pre- production) in the trade that is supposed to make faces match necks and hands.
>>832 All I know about Bustle is from an article about its slightly controversial startup. It does have a staff of permanent writers/editors, but no editor-in-chief. Also, a number of its contributions come from freelance 'authors' - think, underpaid interns. These 'authors' are the ones who tend to write the laughable (TH) articles. Some are little more than a series of tumblr gifs with captions. I would imagine, therefore, that this is a permanent writer who has enough pull to get a quick sit-down with EO. Bustle does get a lot of hits and has established itself as a 'feminist' online mag, so getting a quick sit-down wouldn't be too hard.
>>833 The seductress boobs had done the job so she put them away?
<objectification> I must confess...my favorite part of him are his thighs </objectification>
Here's the 'whole' vid of the gif M posted. I haven't checked Torrilla in a while, she may have it up as she had the gif.
>>836 Thanks, I hadn't seen either until now. It looks a lot more innocent in a normal speed video than it does in a slowed-down gif.
Yeah there's nothing spectacular or sizzle worthy chemistry when you watch the video. It's below the usual cuddles and flirting and hugging TH normally does with his costars. That's why I figured whatever they had is gone. OR if Anon's theory is right then the less physical interaction Tom has with a female, the more likely it is that he's banging her! Or maybe he's just scared that if he squeezes her in a hug the twins will pop out of her dress. By twins I mean her sisters. Not the other set of twins that are already winking at us.
>>838 I feel like his behavior here falls somewhere in the middle of his usual red carpet spectrum - not as comfortable as when he's with Jessica Chastain or Tilda Swinton, but a little more friendly/familiar than the ladies from High Rise, for example. Even the Nashville premiere was within his usual interactions - I think the reason it seemed so over the top was because of the stiff awkwardness we saw at TIFF.
>>839 Most likely. Though I will go on record and say I did side eye EO at Nashville because she seemed to be copying Chastain from the CP premiere. I'm definitely guilty of over analyzing because I did compare the LA premiere to the NY one and to me TH appeared more warm and friendly with Wrenn than he did with EO.
>>840 I wonder how much all the gossip affects their interactions. It has to at least cross their minds that their behavior is going to be analyzed. I think that was part of the reason they seemed so awkward at TIFF - it was the first time they were publicly together since Pursegate, and they had obviously decided to put forth a "we are not dating" vibe, regardless of what their relationship actually was. So yes, I agree that he did seem more comfortable with Wrenn, but they don't have "careful where you put your hands, people think we're together" running through their heads.
>>841 I'm sure it's on their mind and dictating a lot of their behavior. But I mean they did leak and tease the initial rumor to get people to wonder about "are they or are they not" so it's part of the monster they created. No one was really thinking it before. Not saying TH and EO deserve abuse or anything vicious over it but if you're going to tease and leak rumors like that, they end up taking on a life of their own and you have weather the fallout. And their ambiguous denials just help the shippers and haters from perpetuating those rumors. Yay gossip and celebrities lol
Is there any video from the NY Q&A for ISTL?
The BBC and its delusions of grandeur: https://twitter(.)com/bbcone/status/713413608793747456
>>843 Here's the tag for the Angelika Film Center where one of the post viewing Q/As took place. No complete video, only snippets. I'm not checking his twitter feed too closely - there's too much! - but one might pop up there so have a gander.
>>844 Goodness, talk about perpetuating the talk. People are going to keep asking him about Bond - he needs to come up with better answers than what I've heard so far. And he needs to ditch the 'awww shucks' way of answering it. When an interviewer on the RC suggested he could make a good Bond, TH actually blessed him for saying it. If he wants to be Bond (I think he does), well, Bond doesn't bless people.
>>846 He wants it. That's the problem. His little face lights up whenever anyone suggests it. He is obviously thrilled to be mentioned in the same sentence as Bond and I don't begrudge him that especially while he's flogging the ISTL dead horse and seeing his dreams of Oscar glory crumble.
>>836 I watched this and she seems strangely immune to the blinding effects of the flash, even without a bag. That's all I got.
>>847 For the first time in a long time, he didn't wear his boots with casual clothes. He wore those dove grey shoes. I know we made fun of him for his lack of new clothes and those boots - but there was a nonchalance about it that was appealing and manly. Perhaps I'm being too fickle.
Longer vid of the Q/A.
>>849 He wore brown shoes at TIFF with his pale grey jacket and trousers. That outfit was all from Reiss so I am sure he picked it himself. He looked nice - he can do it without a stylist!
I like the grey shoes and I am not sad to see the boots being given a rest. They snuck in a couple of days ago with the other polo shirt.
Yet another post screening q&a yesterday at the Lincoln Plaza. He must now have watched the movie more times than any other person in the world!
I hope he has today off to eat his Easter eggs.
Or hang out with BC and wife, who are also in NYC for some reason.
Does anyone know the official reason why Wrenn replace EO on the Q&A panels?
He is on Colbert tonight and doing a live BAFTA NYC q&a (too many acronyms!).
>>854 I am not sure EO was ever officially doing these events. Work with Jeremy?
>>855 I forgot about the movie with Jeremy Renner.
FYI: TH is on Steven Colbert tonight, if you're in the US, to promote both ISTL and TNM.
>>855 wow I am so groggy I didn't even see you posted the same thing. Back to bed for me.
Apparently he is hitting the road this week all across the US to promote ISTL at screenings and on local radio:
To look at TH in these pics, you'd think they were taken on the same day. Looking at JH, you realize they weren't - TH is just wearing the exact same outfit.
>>858 Nope - they are not letting it die!! TH is currently performing mouth-to-mouth on the horse while EO and MA attempt open-heart massage.
I think this horse is going to pull through!!
Well I suppose as Loki, he learned how to make a horse feel frisky (hem hem).
>>860 In other news, the finale of TNM thrashed a documentary about the Queen at 90 in the ratings. My husband shocked me yesterday by referring to the Hiddlebottom!
>>858 It's actually only playing at one place in NYC - The Angelika theatre where they did Q/As. Limited release is really limited! I think I'm going to wait until it's in a few more theaters on Friday.
I will be buying a ticket for another movie and then going into this one. I will be drinking before and during. I will be ordering an 'I Survived ISTL' t-shirt.
>>863 Shame! You have to contribute your fifteen bucks to its hundred thousand dollar gross!
I agree about the drinking though.
BTW the official Instagram is shite! They have so far posted 13 pics, several of which are of the entourage. Half his events haven't been depicted. Some way to go on this social media thing I think.
Usual snoozeworthy stuff till the last ten seconds, then - aaaaah! http://www.ew.com/article/2016/03/25/i-saw-light-tom-hiddleston-hank-williams
Some links from twitter (which he dropped a bomb on by re-tweeting JH):
For those of you who love your TH blurry, then shaky and at a very low volume.
>>868 Bilious. I've eaten too many Easter eggs. Can you tell?
Have you seen ep6 yet?
According to tumblr that grey polo shirt cost about $1200!!!!!
>>870 I've paid that much for a dress (not the wedding dress). It's much nicer than a polo shirt and has seen me through 7 years, and if I maintain my weight, I'll be buried in that dress. Even if you have the money, that is too much for a shirt.
At BAFTA NY: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDhKEs8utZG/
The Charlie Rose interview is up. The hat makes a second appearance. I may hate that hat. I imagine he might have worn it when sexing up his co-star. Yep, try to get that out of your head.
>>873 He probably did it in character as Hank. Hat. Accent. Inevitable relationship failure nagging at the back of his mind. Bronco ridin' references.
Colbert wasn't as cringe-worthy as expected. TH's has a new nickname - Spoonman...
Second series of TNM confirmed.
Singing, more hats and spoons.
>>873 I am impressed that Charlie Rose is available internationally! Way to go, Charlie! Other thoughts:
1) Earnest men sitting round a table mansplaining Hank Williams.
>>876 Put into context: apparently the blue Alexander McQueen suit was $1600. Also, he has 2 of these polo tops, one in navy and one in grey. I would give anything to have been a fly on the wall when the stylist was explaining why he needed to spend $2400 on knitwear. I do hope she got him a discount.
>>876 Call me a cynic but they knew this was on the cards from day 1 didn't they, given that [SPOILER] they changed the ending from the book?
>>878 I highly doubt TH has paid for many of his clothes over the last few years. He has clearly been sponsored by labels and most likely had a stylist who chose his capsule wardrobe. It's only now that he has a high profile stylist who is leveraging her own profile from the collaboration that we are finally becoming aware.
I must say, the bi- annual tennis parade has become somewhat of a cheesy advertisement, on par with strategically placed coke bottles in movies. Wearing Lauren in the Lauren stadium and posing backstage in the Lauren marquee. What a shock he is wearing so much Lauren on this tour!
Did he play the spoons? That scene in Archipelago was almost worth sitting through Archipelago.
>>880 I am sure he hasn't paid for his suits and all those dinner jackets. I also never thought in a million years he chose the RL sweaters he's been seen in over the last 6 months so someone has been helping. But I bet he paid for and chose a lot of his casual wardrobe up to TIFF. A lot of it seemed to come from Reiss and there was so little of it and it was all pretty cheap stuff. I thought it looked authentically chaotic!
>>877 Charlie Rose is the good stuff when it comes to interviews.
Yes, our version of drinking beer is sad compared to, well, the world. Skinny bottles of piss water, really.
>>876 I always side-eye the second series of a tv show. Broadchurch was brilliant; Broachchurch 2.0 - not so much.
No confirmation of who will come back. Burr seems to be likely (after maternity leave). Maybe Steadman? So much can go wrong with TNM2: Roper gets off, but has suffered amnesia at the hands of the Egyptians; this then allows Pine to just do exactly what he did before but in ever so slightly changed circumstances.
>>880 I've wondered about how designers 'lend' to male stars. For women it is a case of lending just for the occasion, as they likely won't wear it again. I remember EO standing in the rain at TIFF and worrying about that terrible dress and saying, 'I don't own this dress!'
This is the tweet of the IG pic Whatsinaname posted last night. It actually has two/three pics and the caption's hilarious - as is his reaction to what she says.
>>885 I've noticed he's been wearing (under)pants a lot more recently. (Confirmed by the position of the junk and the waistband peeking out). This makes me think the recent suits are on loan. You don't go commando in another man's fatigues.
>>884 OT: I hated Broadchurch season 2. The legal stuff was laughably inaccurate (http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-01-14/broadchurch-legal-what-does-a-real-criminal-barrister-think-of-the-court-drama). The interesting thing is that such inaccuracies seem to have made it "feel" wrong and implausible even for those who aren't from that world.
>>880 PS The previous time he was at Wimbledon (with the JArthy!) he was wearing the blue Reiss suit. My recollection is that last summer was his first association with RL. I think RL has a hospitality tent at Wimbledon (in common with other sponsors like Veuve a liquor) but Centre Court is Centre Court - there isn't enough money in the world to get the Lawn Tennis Association to rename it the RL stadium!! So maybe not a totally obvious product placement.
Torrilla has pics of him leaving the Colbert recording. There's a lot more moose knuckle going on. No wonder he never used to wear pants.
Yee-haw! I guess we can count our blessings that he's not performing...seriously, start counting our blessings because....
An angle not in the GB edition. What excitements await you in the US version?!
Talks about Shit Island (apparently it has a trailer - Comic-Con, anyone?), shoehorns in The Work by answering a question the interviewer didn't really ask, rubbishes Sherlock rumors and says that the wall sex scene was 'an integral part of the narrative' - it really wasn't, but we liked it, Tom!
I loved the Colbert interview. Finally some endearing spark and originality in amongst the scripted claptrap.
>>882 Nothing screams casual as much as that fan photo taken on the Gold Coast with at least two gaping holes in his wardrobe. He wasn't even jogging. I can't help but wonder if his natural inclination is to imitate a hobo and he has always needed a helping hand to coordinate chaotic casual.
>>899 The country awards are in Vegas...Utah is very close to Nevada...
Remember when I linked to the psychic gossip site that said TH would have some hard times and the comments were mentioning drugs? >>251 And it was so ridiculous...
He may be on drugs...or the dancing bear has come out of hibernation. Even MA is thinking, 'Shit, I'm not willing to go this far to save this damn film!'
>>901 I'd say he's on a high from the success of Colbert and just like the psychic predicted, has believed his own PR. It's a shame he didn't let it lie, it was great once, cringeworthy twice. If there's a third repetition I will have to moon walk away
Apparently there was drama at the DC Screening/Q&A on Tuesday. Talk of people entering with fake tickets which barred people who bought real tickets from getting in. http://fandomnerd66.tumblr.com/post/141943701086/gitsie007-allthyvexations-wthanon4u#notes
>>903 Of course there was. Seemingly, there always is with TH. That link, however, reminds me of Miss Unrelated: he helped me through a dark time, I wanted to ask him a question I've had for so many years, my day was ruined (even though she herself seems to have had a fake ticket) by thoughtless other fans.
I saw Colbert and I was impressed - again! I have to hand it to Colbert - he is a very good interviewer (an underrated art). Original questions, not afraid to show he is intelligent and the man can sing! (Colbert, I mean).
I liked the anecdote about the spoon damage, and TH's telling of it - "It's a nice memory now - or so she claims". When you get him off "I spent 6 weeks living with a gifted musician whose name is Rodney Crowell" he is a charming, clever and witty interviewee.
Interesting article in the Daily Beast. Contrary to CB this is not the full article but hs some nice tidbits about TR:
>>906 OT: Ha! My boy and his brother were at LCD (he has terrible taste in music). He said there was cowbell - is that a staple of dance music? - and the light show made him slightly nauseous. I'll let him know that BC was in the crowd - even though neither know who BC is.
>>905 I finally caught up on the Horowitz podcast and Colbert last night. I thought both were great. Listening to the podcast, I can see what TH might have see/did see/does see (take your pick) in EO. She was funny and interesting - and her voice/laugh sounded much better than they sometimes do!
>>907 A sense of "their diversity and all those lovely things." Oh GOD. I was all warm inside from Colbert and now this?
IG and twitter are throwing up some gems! Here's TH, a tv producer and - of course - TH's testicles.
>>910 They're like one of those pictures made of dots that the optician shows you during your eye test.
"When you close your left eye what can you see?"
Torrilla recoding of "My favourite song" - I sometimes have problems getting her embedded links to play so here it is: https://soundcloud.com/daisyjj/tom-hiddleston-on-my-favorite-song-with-john-benjamin-hickey
>>911 Maybe this is why he's so unfailingly happy/enthusiastic/joyful. Maybe he loves the seam of his trousers subdividing his junk. I was thinking it looked painful...maybe it's his greatest and cheapest thrill.
>>912 Ugggghhhhhh. And I feel like that's about .0002% of the total number of times he's done it. At some point, some terrible person told him that pose looked good and 8,594 times later, he's not yet retired it.
>>914 My husband says it is ok in baggy trousers (think Mad Men and John Hamm's eeee-normous package). In tight trousers he says it is agony.
>>907 The Standard missed the - to my mind - most interesting bit of the Hello i'vue: http://october-green.tumblr.com/post/141978456384/wendy7777-tom-hiddleston-hello-magazine
>>916 Are you thinking of something in particular, or just in general?
>>917 I don't know which part Anon was referencing, but I personally loved the first half of the response about marriage, which didn't make it into the Standard. Such sass!
>>918 Oh and the talk of personal possessions was interesting, too.
Also, was he casting a little shade at BC? Interviewer says will you marry like BC? He responds, yeah, I will run out and grab the first woman I see....!
Longish and quite interesting interview on radio in NYC. Some familiar stuff, but expressed in a much less hackneyed way. At about 8.00 he denies point blank being a smoker and at about 11 denies having sung ever previously...! http://youtu.be/T6pe9h-5P5w
>>921 'I did not have sexual relations with that cigarette...or Tinkerbell.'
If he's quit I might believe he and EO are on the outs. I think his 'I smoked with Hank' answer earlier was really a 'I smoked while spending a lot of time with my smoker co-star.' Damn, I was actually hoping they'd get married in Vegas, in white fringe. Okay, single, female country music stars - he's headed your way, make your moves!
>>922 Yes, you articulate what was lurking unformed in my mind. Speaking as an ex smoker, it is very context-specific. If I had married a smoker I still would smoke.
Did you listen to it? He said - exact words - "No, no, I'm not [a smoker]" and that he didn't smoke real cigarettes while playing HW. Conspiracy theorists and fans of metaphor may find it amusing that he previously said to the Guardian "I did [smoke] a bit when I played Hank. A stupid idea". So how we know that in about September last year he thought that dating a smoker was stupid. See, it all fits in with that "they broke up" story in November...!!!!!!!!! (I'm joking here)(maybe).
Tom Hiddleston does the weather forecast in Chicago:
>>924 I am now officially lost for words at the extent of this publicity tour.
Interview with TH and Ethan Hawke to discuss what it's like playing musicians in biopics (Ethan is playing jazz trumpet player Chet Baker). Watch and compare: http://youtu.be/wPg3n5fYtX4
>>926 Great snag, Whats. TH's face at the 0:17 ff mark! 'Please like me. Please be my friend. I can be with the cool people, yes?'
>>929 He is struggling with the words to My Funny Valentine!
>>923 I haven't listened. Once that Guardian article mentioned smoking, I was convinced something went on during filming. TH seems the sort who would take up smoking - if only a little/ socially - to spend time/connect with someone who smoked.
I am starting to think my bilious feelings are due to too much TH (and not entirely too many Easter eggs).
The amazing thing is that that tiny piece about women's lovely things has generated nearly 200 comments on CB (most of them batshit crazy), even after almost daily click bait articles on him. I feel the need to lie down in a darkened room. It's like 1984. I feel like I will turn on any radio channel and hear his voice.
>>930 yes! That look! Ethan is one of the cool kids, and an Oscar nominee. I was hoping someone else would catch that (it's what I meant by 'compare').
His twitter tag had over 3,000 posts today. He tweeted, so that was part of it, but can you guess what most of the traffic was? Yep, no more Loki!!! Some Loki-lytes are at DEFCON 1. Think heart-eyes turned to crying-eyes.
Alternate pool scene:
>>936 I know it's mostly thin. I think I liked that one because it was 20 minutes and didn't feel rushed like these 5 minute tv slots. Getting desperate!
I tell you what, I did listen to the Favorite Song broadcast with John Benjamin Hickey (I only had time to post the link before). If you want a meaty interview that's your one. JBH is another good interviewer and very knowledgeable and passionate about music generally - as is TH, slightly to my surprise. It was a pleasure listening to him talk about a passion instead of dutifully plugging the product.
>>936 Nebraska! Antarctica!
Where will he publicise TNM in the US? Please tell me he won't just do another round: Kimmel, Colbert, weather programme.
Maybe he'll hit up James Corden's show, and they'll reminisce about TH dancing on Chatty Man.
"@JimCarrey, @jennarusselluk, @twhiddleston & @LPittPulford to star in a new musical adaptation of #PrivateLives @DonmarWarehouse !"
>>940 I think April Fool likely. If it was true it wouldn't be announced by some random on Twitter first.
Has anyone actually seen ISTL yet? I looked at Rotten Tomatoes and the reviews almost made me cry. Sample: "If you've always thought, as I have, that Tom Hiddleston was such a good actor that he could salvage any movie, well, welcome to ISTL."
>>940 Oh, god. As unfunny as TH can be...Loki'd, anyone? - Jim Carrey is even unfunnier. April Fool's is also good for showing you what terrible things can be dreamed up. Let's pray it's a joke.
>>942 It was at 12% at one point, but is now at 16%. The guy from the Globe gave is 3.5/4 stars and called it better than Walk the Line. It could become a little Marmite with time.
It will be interesting to see with whom he's paired.
>>942 I'm not planning on seeing it but I checked out of curiosity if it's showing in any of our movie theatres. And guess what - of course not, lol.
It does not surprise me at all though, American country music is absolutely unpopular in LT. If not for TH, I would still have no idea who HW was.
Tom spent Thanksgiving alone [read: with the Lady's Maid] surfing in HI
The boots are in the movie! http://i-wanna-be-toms-body-pillow.tumblr.com/post/142135171159/i-wish-i-had-never-come-here-ill-try-to-spot
Oh, look at that 'casually unbutton shirt' - I'm sure he and the stylist had a 30 minutes convo about it. I think he may be in danger of hyping himself out of Bond. He and Luke need to play this one carefully, which we all know is in neither's skill set: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3521247/Tom-Hiddleston-teases-casually-unbuttoned-shirt-television-appearance-alongside-Aaron-Paul-fans-call-James-Bond.html
I link this for rhetorical purposes. I find this interview so fascinating from a journalistic standpoint. So the original was in Hello (it seems), then the ES did an edit of it, then Anon posted a tumblr scan of what we thought was the actual Hello article, but this one - from the Philippines - has more than the Hello tumblr scan.
>>950 I am guessing it was either a group interview and we are getting a second version of the same answers (not very well transcribed. Something about this makes me think it was transcribed by a non English speaker. Sounds too curt to be him, apart from anything else. And the idiom sounds wrong). Or, it was one interview which has been sold to lots of people and cut down by them.
>>949 I cannot believe the stylist is owning this outfit. I am sure she helped him to buy the items but the combo is not good (blue fancy suit jacket with black jeans, grey boots and different blue shirt - fairly uncoordinated if you ask me). It looks like what I suspect it is - TH opens suitcase and selects one shirt, one pair trousers, one jacket, one pair shoes and puts them all on. Or do we now believe she appears at his bedside every day and lays out his clothes? (shades of Louis XIV)
>>946 QAZZZZ! I wouldn't think ISTL would show up on the radar in LT. It's a strange one - it's playing in a few places in Queens and Brooklyn, but only one place in Manhattan. Does Sony think Queens and Brooklyn are filled with country music fans?
>>952 Is she really owning it? I was making a joke about the 30 minute convo. I hope he also has someone putting toothpaste on the brush and flossing for him...he must be groomed properly!
>>954 According to her Twitter she styled him for Variety! Actually all joking aside I think she is reaching - what she means is "I chose these items for him".
I now know more about Hank Williams, and about regional US news outlets, than I thought possible.
>>958 That is SUCH good news. It is a great movie.
I now feel I have heard and read so much about ISTL that if it is ever released in the UK I ought to go and see it, just to express my admiration for TH's efforts in the publicity department. He said on Radio 2 that he hoped it would be released in the UK in May. He will be resting before starting to film TR so I have hopes he will attend 200 or so screenings here....
>>960 Is there anyone in the solar system who doesn't know what happens to Hank at the end of the movie?
I also want your review of ep6 of TNM!
>>960 I thought the remark was maybe about all those terrible reviews for ISTL - which nobody has dared ask him about, I notice. You pick your projects, you do the work and you don't pay attention to people's opinions.
>>961 I haven't watched it yet! I got wrapped up with Easter: two church services (he's not Catholic and always wants to keep up the Protestant side!) and then Easter lunch with friends followed by Easter dinner with family. I read the DM's account, so I know what happens. I'll do it tomorrow after work. I'll use it as a palate cleanser after ISTL!
>>962 I will always connect The Work to The Personal Life because it first popped up a few days after Pap Night. Remember the Facebook post: how grateful he was for The Work and that people enjoyed The Work. Read: Ignore that I have a FWB, ignore that she hates photographers but loves gates, ignore that we may be leveraging this relationship for the film's benefit.
>>964 I wouldn't expect anyone to sit down and say "I saw ISTL and it was dire." But I wondered if someone might ask "do you read reviews? how do you deal with bad reviews?"
Here is our boy at the ACM awards: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDwcRPIB8mK/?taken-by=cbstv
>>966 Hope there aren't any rude Hank 3 fans in the audience.
Tom won UK National Film Academy award for High Rise - Best Actor. Sign of good things to come, I hope.
Can't read about it without the link: http://www.nationalfilmacademy.org/winners-for-the-2nd-annual-national-film-awards-uk-announced/
Quick review of ISTL. The opening scene of Tom signing was the highlight of the movie; it was drastically better than when we first saw that Wheatland video. All the actors did well. Cherry was excellent. The common review highlight about the editing and leaving out key chunks of his life - true. The Luke the Drifter persona was creepy.
>>969 I don't know what my best part of it was. I can't even say TH because of the writing.
There were five people in the theatre (one couple, two singles an Yes, it was 10:00 on a Sunday night, but five is still piss-poor for any movie in NYC - no matter day or time. The place itself was fairly busy with only a few empty tables in the cafe and couches in the lounge.
I want to know what prompted this face! Maybe Whats is psychic and there were Hank III fans on the RC!
>>970 No, but tell us how you really felt.
Sob. What a waste of a good cast and a great life story/music.
Thinks: "I am sitting 10 rows behind Keith Urban and Nicole."
Breasts!! Not that you need this clarification given the context.
Speaking of TH wresting the mic from MA, take a look at the link I posted yesterday to the Bay Area interview. It is unintentionally hilarious - TH looks bored and resentful every time MA talks (maybe he has now realised that MA can't direct and that everyone is calling the movie I Saw the Shite). Then at 5.30 he loses the will to live and starts flirting with the camera!
He looks strangely young here - I thought it was from Thor times but it is from filming ISTL: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDyhPFATIba/?taken-by=caseybond
>>972 I feel as if I've done my duty - I even bought the ticket for ISTL, I didn't fudge by buying a ticket for another movie.
>>973 Funny you should mention that. Someone on twitter spotted him in the crowd and said he was sitting with the D-Listers! So ten rows behind Keith and Nic sounds right. I don't even think he got close to Dolly's Double-Ds!
https://twitter(.)com/BAFTALA/status/717064057543479296 Seems he's back in LA.
Has he crossed the country twice in two weeks? Is that right, I can't remember. Either way, he'll do it again as he's due in NYC next week for TimesTalk and Tribeca.
>>978 And then he'll be back on the east coast in a week for more Night Manager promo, right? He's going to need a week to sleep off the jet lag when this is over.
>>978 Oh, you've already said what I just said. That's what I get for posting while drinking. :P :P :P
>>973 They are beasts. :) Poor guy - who signed him up for that show? Bad decision. I fear it was made months ago, before the poor reception at TIFF.
>>970 yes, the writing could have been better - I'm being very generous here - especially when Luke the Drifter made an appearance. That was cringe-worthy. The people next to me laughed.
A new pic from the Sudan trip last year: https://twitter(.)com/_val83_/status/717207999966744578
Unfortunately, I suspect this was a relatively recently booked gig. Before TIFF the plan was for the movie to be released in September, all the publicity done at that time, with hopes of Oscar nominations this February. Back in July/August last year there would be no perceived need to book TH to appear at an awards ceremony in April, way after the movie had been released and all the acting awards ceremonies were done and dusted. My guess is that this was booked more recently as part of the March/April publicity tsunami. No get out for it being a bad decision!
I felt a bit sorry for him. There were pics of him milling around on the RC with all the other country d listers looking a bit lost. They also interviewed him and asked who he most wanted to see perform, and he had obviously got no idea! It must be pretty grim to attend a 3h award ceremony for music you know nothing about on your own, and have to make polite chat with people who don't know who you are, or who think your project sucked. It must be a lonely life at times. I'm not sure he's the type to fill his hotel room with Las Vegas hookers (looking at you, Prince Harry!).
Is he having a pants on fire moment here? I am sure he said Thor 3 was the end but here he is a touch more coy: http://youtu.be/gLKR7YURSno
Oh yes, he did: Thor 3 "will be my last time out of the gate." http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/03/29/tom-hiddleston-on-his-bond-moment-in-the-night-manager-finale-and-loki-s-future.html
He'd make a terrible as Anon. said.
Politician. My typing on the mobile is so poor, sorry.
>>984 With nearly 12M viewers in the only demographic possibly interested in paying see this turkey (dedicated fans aside- I admire your gumption), I'd say TH willingly threw himself on the grenade. I've never seen him break into such as sweat as when he presented the award. He was a hot mess.
It was the country music equivalent of Loki at Comic-Con; such a company man. Is it arse- sucking or desperate self promotion or is he really just too nice to say no?
Lurker but I thought this would interest you all
>>989 It is interesting. Thank you for linking.
That tweet is easy to search for because of the misspelling of EO's name. It has either been deleted, or it is not the tweet referred to on here, and someone has manufactured it after reading about it here or at the bicycle (probably with a view to trolling for followers for manufactured gossip to come). I see that the blog was only created on 26.03....
>>989 So the tweeter is a "bona fide LA resident who works in showbiz" but only recognized/mentioned EO and not Tom. EO must have been making out with Marc Abraham then. ;)
>>983 Awwww. I bet he would have loved to be next to Nic. He could do his Ozzie accent for her.
>>983 I'm not going to cry for Argentina. He's got to play the promo game - even if it's a dirty one. He'll probably spin it in his usual overenthusiastic manner and look on it as money in the experience bank.
>>990 That's the one I saw. If it's no longer there, then she erased it.
>>991 I love that the tumblr got the Latin right - no 'bone fide' which you usually see. Like a good investigator I checked her other tweets when I first saw this one. She does live in LA and seems to write for tv shows. If you think about it, she would probably recognize EO (maybe she's met/seen her at events, maybe they live in the same neighborhood) but recognizing TH is less likely. He's just not that well known, cf. seating for ACM awards!
This matches up with the twitter posts I saw about EO in Hawaii. I didn't see any IG posts but the tweets I saw were from times other than mid-November/laser tag weekend. I wonder if she has these too.
But the source is wrong - they met long before they started work on ISTL. So I call bullshit.
>>993 I've been to her tumblr, and I really think she would have recognized Tom. It still doesn't prove anything either way, though.
>>994 We already know they don't "get together as much as possible" and it's pretty widespread on the internet at this point that EO was in Hawaii. I don't think this "source" has any more valid information than the "source" that said EO dumped TH to focus on her career, or the "source" that said TH dumped EO so he could sleep around during SI filming.
Clue: it isn't the answer to that question.
>>988 I think often 'meet' is Hollywood speak for 'worked together.' Sure, they actually met back in 2011, but that was a fairly brief, transitory meeting at an audition and if they only saw each other in passing - at events and the like - then working together on ISTL might be considered a proper meeting.
>>997 You've been to her tumblr or her twitter? It's easy enough to find her twitter now with the responses un-redacted. THEOANon needs to do a better job of protecting her sources.
I can't say if she'd recognize TH. As I recall, she seemed very TV focused, so not recognizing TH wouldn't be unlikely. Maybe she even got the EO sighting wrong - who's to say?
