Thread to talk about the actor Tom Hiddleston
Oh bollocks. I knew this would happen sooner or later.
@Anon. 1000 in the last thread - I found her on tumblr. She's not a Hiddlestoner blog or anything but she's posted about Tom a bit, so I feel confident she'd recognize him.
>>3 Did you manage to unredact her tweet? I am such a Luddite with the technology, I swear!
>>4 I got to her Twitter through finding one of the replies in that screencap, and then found her tumblr from there.
>>3 Given the hair-trigger some of his fans have, she may have decided to leave TH out of the tweet. If she knows word one about him or his fans, then she probably knows linking him to a woman is like chum in the water.
She seems to have taken it down after people started to ask her questions/respond. Perhaps once someone mentioned the dreaded TH, she didn't want that sort of attention and pressed delete.
>>4 You just need to search for the quoted responses - as long as those haven't been deleted you can then find the @ twitter source. Like I said, THEO Anon needs to redact like the CIA does: All blacked out with only the date left - if that.
>>7 She's a Marvel fan to an extent, mostly the TV shows, but she's posted a some about Avengers and mentioned Tom by name once that I saw. Enough of a fan that she'd recognize TH from the movies (and probably EO from there as well) but not an entrenched Marvel Fangirl. She's more into other non-Marvel fandoms.
TH, not TH, PDA, mistaken identity - whatever - I still think they have each other's genitals on speed dial.
I think she was in HI more often than that one time. I think they saw each other in LA when he was returning home from HI. I think they very well may have seen each other - outside of the obvious promo work - in LA when he arrived from Vietnam.
>>9 Is there anyone in the US (or the known universe) who hasn't seen a really boring interview about ISTL at this point?
I felt the urge to bludgeon myself with my own iPad this evening. I am suffering from Too Much Tom. If I see one more interview with Tom looking bored except when he is hogging the mic, one more carefully curated outfit, one more tweet saying, "yeah, I just saw Elizabeth Oleson screwing Loki in the roadway" I think I shall scream.
This is extreme TH, you've been warned. He exhibits no shame and no filter in this vid.
>>10 I am not so sure it will go so swimmingly if they debut now - or later. Have you forgotten our feelings of major side-eye when she called the entire fandom loser bishes for daring to care about THEO? As you accurately observed at the time, people don't like to feel they've been played. However I will await with eager anticipation precisely how they manage to mess up going public.
>>10 I'm more likely to believe a random sighting on Twitter than anything printed in a tabloid. And - sorry TH and EO - I don't think there's going to be an awards season push for this film, so if they were going to make anything official ISTL premiere would have been the time to do it. Instead they brushed it off for what feels like the millionth time, so I think if the secret bronco ridin' is still happening, it's gonna stay secret until it's over.
>>11 Now, now, Anon, a street corner is super classy, just like the tumblr lady said, but a roadway? Loki and SW would never do that! And now I'm going to go search twitter for 'Oleson' because I've never searched under that misspelling!! ;)
I'm going to submit anything I find to THEOAnon, but I'm going to properly redact them.
>>12 This is the vid of the audio I posted on the last thread. He also exhibits no pitch. Anybody else notice how he tells the man off, pretty aggressively, and not the women who were recording (at least 3 that I know of)?
Preach it, sister! I do need to lather and rinse because I feel dirty. My brain has sucked up too much TomTat and now I need to wash it all away.
>>13 I found fault with the hypocrisy, but that's dependent on them/her/him having planted THEO stories in USWeekly. If she asked us to care (so they could debut or for the movie) and then belittled us for caring, that's not on. But if they do the 'We just weren't ready to go public, we never directly, specifically said that we weren't seeing each other/starting a relationship,' then it's hard to say that's outright lying - even if I personally think that's playing fast and loose with the truth.
>>18 A lot of fans are taking what she said as 2x outright denials. When people point to the sightings etc a typical response is "but she denied it so it can't be so". I doubt you'll be the only one who thought they played fast and loose with the truth.
If they ever did come out as a couple, I'm sure Michael K and Perez Hilton would call them out on their BS.
Seems his NYC visit will cover HR promo as well as TNM. https://www.instagram.com/p/BD1cKGfur90 Do we think he'll cross the streams and do a southern accent and yodel when talking about Laing?
>>22 Oh. Another carefully curated outfit. [incoherent screaming]
I preferred his own efforts. I know I laughed when he wore the same casual outfit 3 days in a row last September. But it was endearing. Come back, Casual Disaster Tom. All is forgiven.
>>23 Carefully Curated Tom is here to stay I'm afraid. He's really going all out for his American Debutante Ball.
Most of it is likely on lend so it shouldn't be too long before we catch glimpses of Casual Disaster Tom dining alone reading desolate prose. Or if we're lucky, he' and EO will do a pap walk with their hands in each others pockets and their tongues down each others throat, putting an abrupt end to being the dullest couple that never happened. Their denials have a whiff of Bill Clintons "I smoked weed but never inhaled" declaration. Riiiight.
>>3 Since she ended up deleting the tweet, she may have recognized him.
>>26 Someone said ED had come to the premiere dressed as penicillin.
>>23 His trousers are so tight. How does he even get his hands into pockets anymore?
>>26 He might have seen BvS, if only to see a movie more poorly put together than ISTL.
If he was there, it will see the light of day. There will be RC pics or a rundown from the after party.
>>21 According to this online event calendar that should be the end of the Hiddleston tsunami, unless he is attending screenings of HR at TriBeCa. https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=twh.news.tumblr%40gmail.com&ctz=Europe/London
Possibly the funniest review you'll read of ISTL:
Thomas, behave. If you can't behave, at least try to be subtle.
I know we say of people like her that they would look good in a potato sack, but it's one of those saying that shouldn't be tested. As usual, her skin looks otherworldly. She could become another Tilda with that skin.
I think he might be buoyed up by no more ISTL promo.
DM mentions 007 in title of an article where TH says that he wants the speculation about Bond to stop.
He stumbles, he stutters, he gives his stock answer on fame. I believe he knows that if he does have any chance at Bond, he's in the position of being hyped out of it at this point. The 'it hasn't come from me' if very telling.
I love this. It's the first spontaneous action I have seen for a couple of weeks.
No, TH, you're not really good at coming up with different answers.
>>41 He really messed up with that Daily Beast interview. It was very detailed so it wasn't out of context and he wasn't misquoted, I bet. Whoops.
>>35 No way he can chill. And that's not even his worst eyefuck (hello, Kat D.)
GQ gave him some love: http://www.gq.com/story/tom-hiddleston-red-carpet-style-ilaria-urbinati?platform=hootsuite
Kong: Shit Island! We're going to see a trailer for Kong: Shit Island! Spoiler: It may not be shit! The internet tells me the MTV awards are April 10.
The headlong slide toward oversaturation continues. Seth Meyers, April 13 (lead guest). I've heard The View on the 8th.
He attended a screening of TNM last night: https://www.instagram.com/p/BD4uwzCOowD/
>>45 I think it looks like he's at Tribeca with High Rise on April 15th and then an AOL Q&A the following week. I don't think he's ever coming home for a rest!
Another event, SAG for TNM. Shirt appears to be made by the $1200 polo top company, to judge from the logo. I think this is the first thing his stylist has put him in that is genuinely yuk (to me) - not keen on the fussy pockets and shoulder detail. http://getfirstlook.com/photo/CBV4Ew
For those who have seen ISTL and not HR: http://freckletriangleofdoom.tumblr.com/post/142410902053/tomhiddleston-gifs-x-ooh-an-extended-cut
Maybe if MA had done Ghost HW, ISTL would have been better
>>50 Is this BTS footage or does Laing give Charlotte a thumbs-up? Seems incongruous if the latter.
Pah - I've seen the movie that launched the greatest love story that has EVER BEEN. I've seen the roots of THEO, PurseGate, InstaGate, the saga of The Kitchen Door Sex Tweets.
>>51 Oddly enough there is a country song called "The Ride" where a ghostly HW picks up a passenger and tells him his life story. One journo suggested that would have made a better story, magical realism style.
>>52 The first four gifs are definitely from the movie - that tantalising 3/4 bum shot is burned onto my retinas! (I don't think we have ever had a full unimpeded bum shot - there are always trousers at half mast or some such).

The board is in a funny mood today. Wrong captcha, it said untruthfully, before posting twice!
This was when TH had just started filming ISTL. Who knows, we may see TH as ghost HW.

His stylist put him in a new color .... (drumroll)....
You can also see this in Torrilla's gallery.
>>62 That's a colour that does nothing for him. He looked great in the grey suits she had him in but this - not really.
>>64 It's a bit Butlins, isn't it?
Maybe it's a clever plan to make him look like he actually does work on a hotel reception.
>>65 My thoughts too. I was going to say Marriott but Butlins fits.
The stylist is not (according to her Instagram) owning up to "off duty Spanish Inquisition" suit - no "styled by me" pic has surfaced. Has TH, flushed with success at all the new outfits, gone off piste on his own?
She is now. Epic fail.
I just finished watching this interview - 70 minutes - with SAG-AFTRA. It's a welcome respite from the talk show tour and the vapid, repetitive questions about his bare butt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6IusZddtTM&
No Tom, just no. As a tumblr blogger remarked, these look like the kind of shades very old people wear that fit over their glasses: http://jennphoenix.tumblr.com/post/142554311447/lady-hiddles-ivivision-actor-twhiddleston
This did make me laugh. Not only is the red suit A Bad Thing, http://theoanons.tumblr.com/post/142519465266/i-said-it-a-few-posts-back-tom-looks-like-abut it is a hand me down from some nobody in Dawson's Creek:
>>70 Those are not his sunglasses. You can see in a video from the premiere that he was asked to pose with them.
>>73 Thank god - at least we won't be seeing them again, then.
No season 2 of TNM according to TH: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-36009765
Skull Island sneak peak! We get a little character and plot info, finally.
>>77 Thanks anonsy!
I can't decide whether I am going to like or hate this. It certainly makes me raise an eyebrow about TH saying this was a brilliantly innovative take on the King Kong myth. "People travel to apparently deserted tropical island and find that things are not as expected" does not sound that original to me. Also: Tom, stop calling him "Kaaaahng."
>>78 I still don't care about the King Kong story/myth in any way, but i'll keep perving off of TH's thighs in tight jeans and his pecs in t-shirts as long as the pictures and videos keep coming.
>>79 I feel the same. The concept is blah but I like his outfit. I guess we better enjoy the pecs while we can as he is already slimming down again. His body type doesn't stay bulked up easily I think.
Hey Anon., aren't you going to the Times Talk tonight? Hope you have a great time!
Times Talk, clocking in at 78 minutes : http://timestalks.com/detail-event.php?event=hugh_laurie_and_tom_hiddleston
Hugh talked a lot! The man is a legend. Tom wore a white shirt with vertical blue stripes, a dark blue jacket with blue squares, and blue socks with white polka dots.
A checked suit! I hate this passionately. I have longed to see TH in Etro. They make some beautiful and very unusual things - but this? https://www.instagram.com/p/BEFrkaVyqKF/
>>83 I think the new stylist has veered too far into Eddie Redmayne territory with this one. I wouldn't have minded it with a plain shirt, and the socks, but all three is too much on him.
>>84 I think it's the trousers that offend me. The jacket with maybe some dark jeans would have been fine. But we are saying the same - too much pattern! This is the trouble with having a stylist. By and large you look great but then on occasion you come out looking like the stylist was on crack when she chose the outfit. Mostly when she is trying to show she is a fashion genius and not just a personal shopper. "I don't just choose really nice 3 piece suits for him! I put together cutting edge looks!" Please, no.
>>81 I went. Will do a write up later. I found it to be okay - nothing spectacular. Wait until you hear my fiancé's opinion on the suit.
>>86 I can't believe this - the stylist, having posted the usual "styled by me" pic on IG giving details of the designers, has deleted it!! Presumably this was after it caused a lot of people on tumblr to go "eew, worst outfit evah, bring back the sweat pants with holes."
>>81 We almost missed this because of my inability to read emails or look at the fine print on tickets. I just assumed it was going to be at the NYT building - it was not. So, we were about 20 blocks away a few minutes before the doors opened. 20 blocks is A LOT of ground to cover in 30ish minutes on a rainy Monday in NYC. We picked cab over subway and just made it. There were single seats scattered around on the floor, even though it was supposed to be a sell out. But because we wanted to sit together we ended up in the balcony area, so no close-up TH for me.
>>84 That's it! I tried to think back to when I last saw something like this and it was that red one on ER. It's so...not exactly twee, but twee's more terrible cousin... Home Counties Etonian? And I would think TH would want to avoid that label with all his might.
>>89 It looked very woolly - probably the fidgeting was an itch to his ladyparts.
My boy has a couple of Etro shirts, bought before we had a mortgage (they are very dear) and they have to be deployed with care as they are very outré. He loves the look but knows that as a hulking great Englishman they aren't really made for him. "If only I were gay, Italian and 5 foot 6" he said dreamily.
>>88 Did TH try to snatch the mic at any point?
I feel like we have reached saturation point some time ago. Tom can only be the perfect dinner party guest for the whole world so many times.
This is from The Sun so take with a pinch of salt. However.....!
Snatch the mic in a literal or figurative sense? They were all miced, so he didn't need to share. Wise decision. But he certainly grabbed the mic as it were by talking a lot - no surprise. But HL held his own.
Oh, yeah, we're at super saturation. I think part of my blah reaction to the evening was that I'm at TH capacity. The best part of the evening was HL's volleyball quote and the vodka, but then they would be, wouldn't they?
This woman must be stopped!! I didn't/don't care about EO. She can have him, she can drape her beige colored cardboard self all over him - I don't care. But this stylist must be stopped.
>>94 "A fun unexpected look - style be damned." Well, quite.
Maybe EO is his perfect match. A woman who read books might find herself compelled to listen and (gasp!) disagree, and then we would get sad face Marc Abrahams has the mic times. But EO can probably just zone him out and think about her latest black sack dress or whatever.
>>92 Thomas, why? Cue the gay rumors. Cue new EO rumors to combat the gay rumors. Cue me losing the will to live.
>>96 Purity. I can't remember the author. He pretty much summarized the entire book. He said he'd never laughed so much or been so touched - his usual hyperbole. He said it was long but that he'd read it on his last long-haul flight - Vietnam to LA? UK to LA? He didn't specify.
>>92 I will only defend him this once. The naked wrestling was a necessity due to no wardrobe duplicates and the wrestling taking place in water. The notorious quick dry suit obviously didn't dry that quickly after all.
Also I don't think his stylist is entirely to blame for this atrocity. He would have had the final say and chosen it from a selection. Maybe all this time he's been drab he's been screaming to be fab.
>>100 That would explain it. I love the Sun's spin, however. Making it TH's idea was pure tabloid gold. TH best be careful, he's going to get a rep for naked wrestling with all his co-stars. ;)
LSA, when I lurked there, was always good for a few 'TH is gay' subscribers. I'm sure they're all over this article.
>>100 So they were wrestling in their pants in the water? That must have been a sight to behold!
Of course, the stylist didn't actually force TH to climb into that suit ("Now! Or I burn the sweatpants!") but she is the enabler. I hope she buzzes off soon, or we will surely see more awful combinations of her bad styling and his terrible taste.
Someone on here wondered if he would be on James Corden. Apparently he will, on 25.04. Will he ever return to the UK? I think he has chat show Stockholm Syndrome.
Random question - do people in the US watch all these chat shows? Or are there so many networks that people might only catch one? I just wonder whether non TH fans will turn on the TV and think, what him again? It feels ridiculous - but maybe it isn't given how large the US is. Do tell!
>>103 I've always found fight scenes so unintentionally hilarious on set I have ruined takes with laughter. They look ridiculous. It's a miracle if editing can sort it out. There would have been a lot of stressed crew members watching and wondering how they could fix it while the rest tried not to follow through their suppressed giggles with snorts.
Wish she would burn those hobo sweatpants. I'm giving her a reprieve for doing such a great job up until this point, the southern hick singing awards being an absolute standout.
>>104 People I know who regularly watch chat shows pretty much stick with their couple favorites. I personally have one or two hosts I like, but I'll only watch if it's a particularly great lineup or someone I really care about (hi Tom).
>>104 Not all; I go for weeks without them, then a fav does the rounds to promote a movie or book or tv show, and I'll catch them once or twice. Since they're on at night, many of the guests are usually more frank and raunchy than the morning/daytime chat shows. With Tom in the past month, I've only watched the recent nighttime appearances on Jimmy Kimmel and Colbert shows, and will watch Seth Myers and James Corden.
Tom now recognises that impersonating Robert de Niro for Robert de Niro was "a car crash": http://www.tv3.ie/xpose/article/entertainment-news/199475/Tom-Hiddleston-I-was-a-fool-to-impersonate-De-Niro
>>109 I stayed up late to watch that. It was refreshing to hear him say that, as embarrassing as that may have been to admit. Self-awareness is a good thing. And there was no singing - he was there to promote TNM only.
"Truthfully, I do actually know at the moment how many more times I’m going to play Loki, but I’m not going to tell you,” said Hiddleston. “It’s not personal it’s just keeping it fresh for all paying customers to enjoy their films."
At Tribeca Film Festival with friend/actress, Rebecca Hall: https://www.instagram.com/p/BESIWmHo3e9/
>>113 She's the lady who suggested he ditch all his possessions and live out of 2 suitcases isn't she?
>>114 Yes, one in the same.
His suit at Friday's TNM Q&A at TriBeCa seems to be a hit. Best thing his stylist has dressed him in all week. This link, if I copied it correctly, has good views. http://tom-hiddleston.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-31341
>>115 Apparently he asked photographers not to take pics while he was tucking in is shirt. One did and he go really upset. I think he's maybe getting tired of this tour. As are we all, it seems. When will it end?
>>116 I saw a mention of that but no pics or gifs. Yeah, shit's probably getting old even though TNM reviews are favorable.
This is everything I love about DM journalism. The belated discovery that Tom gets nekkid in HR, the failure to link to the trailer with the cock flash and the priceless caption on the pic of TH with Liz Debicki:
We will recall that one of Le Carré's sons, no less, hinted to the Radio Times (owned by a BBC company) that a second series was in the offing: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-03-05/bbc-in-talks-about-a-second-series-of-tom-hiddleston-and-hugh-laurie-drama-the-night-manager
Yesterday, someone posted a bootlegged clip of the HR scene where TH and Sienna have sex. There's an HR tumblr that started hunting down blogs that posted it to get them to remove it. It was too short to , IMO.
>>120 I didn't see. The scene is very funny in context.
>>120 ...too short to be really interesting...
>>119 Tom was quick to not attach himself to it, I'm guessing because he's got bigger game in sight. Either that or he's afraid of being asked to pee in someone.
From New York Magazine, scans on Torrilla's weibo:
"Hiddleston tends to wax philosophical about his work and dodge most lines of questioning about himself. (Of his rumored relationship with Elizabeth Olsen, he says only that 'some things have to remain sacred. You could write that I'm single. There's no ring on this finger.')"
>>124 I find this hilarious for some reason. I don't want to talk about it but...I am single, people! Or at least not in a serious relationship!
When he last said this kind of thing what he in fact meant was "I am seeing someone, but not in any way I am prepared to acknowledge." Followed by a Bora Bora bye bye. Are we about to see a repeat?
Here's the thing, if he comes right out and says "yes we are/were dating, no it isn't/wasn't serious" when he's casually with a woman, then when the day comes that he IS seriously with someone and he says "no comment" everyone's going to know something is up.
His "some things have to remain sacred" comment is confirmation that they're still involved with each other imo.
>>125 EO won't officially acknowledge the relationship either.
>>126 I wish he would just shut up after the sentence "Some things are sacred." That's all he needs to say ever about any relationship. He can never resist adding something though.
I haven't read this yet but I leave it here:
Also this: nice pictures.
A couple of gems from the Variety article:
Exhibit A: Suzanne Bier in "pants on fire" explanation of all the nudity:
Anna Wintour threw a party, guess who was a guest of honor? I hope this means we'll be seeing him at the Met Ball next month. On who's arm, is the question.
>>133 He won't be seen on any woman's arm! Not until she puts a ring on his finger! :-P
Please ignore this post
>>88 I finally got around to watching this (Times Talk, for those who can't be bothered to scroll back). I have to say I thought that it was a bit of a snooze fest. They both gave such very long answers. Saved by HL's intelligence and his snarky answer to every second question - he really hates these things, doesn't he? And by the beach volleyball response - to the very last question! I nearly didn't make it. What nobody mentioned was that the utterly boring book review of Purity was in response to a question about what pop culture TH was engaging with!!! He really has lost touch with the common man...
"Guys I'm at a party with tom hiddleston what should I yell at him"
'I said kneel'- my fav response
Oh dear, Tom's looking orange again in the pics Torrilla posted of the HR premiere.

Interview with Business Insider. Interesting for 2 points. (1) Tom says he hasn't been home for more than 3 weeks in the last year - probably a bit of an exaggeration as I recall he had a couple of months off between filming TNM and heading off to TIFF. (2) Someone finally asked, in a nice way, how he felt about all the bad reviews for ISTL.
Slightly heartless - but I did laugh at the orange/white photo annotation!
Not great ratings for TNM premiere in the US: 0.93m :(
>>145 I'm actually not too surprised - everyone I know was watching coverage of the NY primary. I think a lot of television shows had unusually low ratings that night.
>>146 Stupid time to premiere their flagship series! More generally, Tuesday at 10pm?
OT: is it really going to be the Donald for the Republican nomination, then?
>>147 There's still a decent shot we'll end up with a contested Republican convention, which has the potential to be completely insane.
Some reading material for anyone interested:
>>147 moving it an hour up to 10pm would not have helped- the news channels broadcast about it all evening until close to midnight.
>>150 that's what I meant. New drama premiere on a Tuesday?

This is adorable:
A few clips from the show. Tom is nuzzling the kitty's fur!
Here's the whole BAFTA interview (I think we only had clips before). It's an hour long, if anyone formerly on here is still alive after the press tour that lasted a geological age:
Have you seen these?
>>161 I think these accounts are both fake. The Twitter has no blue tick and some of the posts are in such bad English that I seriously doubt it is written by her. I think also she has said she doesn't "do" social media....
Someone else wants to take credit for Shit Island! http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/legendary-warner-bros-sued-allegedly-888503
In other news: TH has disappeared from view. Anon., where are you? We need your Twitter skills to track him down in LA/Tropical Island Paradise/EO's clammy embraces!
Could he have gone back home, finally? He's scheduled to be on Graham Norton again on May 5th or 6th with Samuel L Jackson. I saw a tweet on the 27th with E at an airport but the pic was undated so..
<<163 Here ya go. I assume it's Heathrow but could be anywhere
Checking in. (Raises hand) 'Present, miss!'
I started a new project at work and it required travel to...a not nice place of the globe. Hence my time off grid. SOZ. But don't feel too out o' the loop, I didn't even tell my parents I was going. But it wasn't all bad: I now have a flak jacket. That, sadly, will probably come in handy in NYC.
Anooooooooon.! You're back!!!! So glad you made it through your secret assignment safely (how Angela Burr- like of you!). I was beginning to worry that the combination of Tom's boringness in the Times Talk and the tartan suit of doom had frightened you away from the fandom.
Tonight he's at the White House Correspondence Dinner - aka The Nerd Prom: https://instagram.com/p/BE1584WOr_7/
Here's a straight on shot. He's being sponsored by The Guardian. http://hiddleston-daily.tumblr.com/post/143654956030

Wow! Thanks whatsinaname for all the links!
>>167 I wasn't AB like at all. I wasn't bringing down the worst man in the world. I was just fact gathering! The guy that was originally meant to go pulled out when he found out his wife was pregnant. He didn't want to take the risk, which should have been my signal NOT to volunteer. But I'm stupid. What I was thinking before I went: This is going to be so exciting. I'm going to get a pay raise afterwards! While there: Crap. Am I going to get shot before my wedding? After: Never again.

>>173 The Corden interview was uncomfortable, and I'm blaming it on 2 things. One, the other guy, Hiddleditch, is as socially anxious in real life as his character and it messed up the flow of the interview. Example: He mentioned Improv Shakespeare in front of TH of all people, TH throws out a line, and you can't answer him back and just shrug? Come on... Two: Corden or the show's booking agent made a poor choice to have those two together. Too bad it wasn't his HR or TNM cast or anyone else in the MCU (tons by now).
This is all getting too weird for me: https://www.instagram.com/p/BE3cSYEEQOT/?taken-by=thefacinator
>>176 O_o Wut da fuuuuu- ?!
(After watching) Actually he's pretty good at it.
>>174 He needs to have a shock collar. More stick than carrot at this point - those are some long standing tendencies. Let's hope he's not going to get a snapchat. The sharing...the terribly awkward sharing!
>>174 Crap. Are we meant to have wedding insurance? Good Lord, I don't know what I'm doing. In so many respects.
>>176 Yeah, I saw this on a tumblr blog. She thought they might have been doing a dance off for Bond. Although, ain't no way Damian Lewis is getting near Bond. Remember when a blonde Bond was introduced, people lost their minds. Ginger Bond really isn't going to happen.
There are pics of TH leaving a party chez Anna Wintour in NYC yesterday. Met Gala today?
>>181 I wonder! But after their recent performances I am not sure. They have tried quite hard with the non-denial denials to deflect attention away from it , to imply it's not happening without saying so, and to say they don't like people speculating about it. Seems a bit pointless and also a tad embarrassing if they intended all along to attend this event together (and I am sure they both knew months ago they had invites). I bet they will be there "separately".
>>182 Yeah, I was just kidding, I honestly don't really think they will, but it's a fun thought. A great stage on which to end the speculation.
What I really want to know is what EO will be wearing. At her last Met Gala she wore this:
>>184 Oh dear. That is not bloody good. At all. She looks like she was asked to go at the last minute.
>>185 The awful thing is I bet she was asked months in advance. I am sure that it is all arranged ages ahead for seating plans and stuff - and so there is ample time to find the worst dress in New York and rub some dirt under your toenails.
Long time lurker here
The Met Gala! He has become a socialite with this promo tour, whatever happened to the guy who said "I'm not interested in the circus of being a celebrity"?
>>187 He acquired a stylist and (evidently) a better publicist in the US!
I think he has always liked a good party. There are pics dating back years of him attending freebie parties (the Mulberry Bond Street flagship store opening, anyone?). It's just that he gets to attend better ones now.
>>188 that explains it, I only started following him last year and from what he said about fame and celebrity I got the opposite impression.
He has most definitely said he doesn't like "the circus of celebrity". If you read the comments on this Celebitchy article you will see that nobody believes him!
Met Gala pics and video up on Torilla (and all over tumblr, I'm sure). He posed for a few with Elizabeth Debicki - he stood on some stairs so he'd be taller, gave me a good laugh.
Tom dancing with Taylor Swift to Crazy in Love
Looking decidedly uncoordinated, awkward, slightly desperate and completely out of his depth but GO LITTLE HIDDLES!
>>193 Oh god I see what you mean!
No sign of EO, though her sisters turned up looking like very wealthy bag ladies:
>>194 EO was conspicuously absent considering she was a confirmed attendee and has a talk show appearance in NY tomorrow
Her sisters... Grey Gardens.
>>195 I guess EO had to mind the gingerbread house while her sisters were out.
this video is even worse, he looks like that creepy old guy in clubs that insists on joining the kids
to avoid misunderstandings, I meant the video makes him look like that, not that he is. Going back to my lurker state.
Finally the wet Hiddles article and its a good one.
He has a cat called Bentley!
Isn't Bentley the cat he posed with for a photoshoot? Was that his cat? I thought it was a stunt cat.
And his sisters don't both live close by, one lives in fricking India. Esquire!
Nooooooooo! That was his cat all along!
No wonder they looked so comfortable together.
I wonder if Bentley travels the globe with him to destinations other than Australia
>>202 I shouldn't know that but his sister actually moved back to London last year.
I hope the cat bit is true!
>>203 >>204 I'm calling stunt cat, not TH's actual real-life pet. In that Shortlist article, the whole premise was that he was 'a cool cat' so they pictured him with a cat. But if you want to get across the idea of him being 'a cool cat,' why not mention that the cat he's pictured with is actually his cat, which the article never does.
>>206 I never read an article about something I really knew about without it being wrong in some respect. Even in the New Yorker - though admittedly rarely as their fact checkers are legendary. But a common or garden magazine article, even by a "proper" journalist - happens all the time.
There's yet more dancing with Swifty. Is he a little star struck? https://www.instagram.com/p/BE8mCj3o_kP/
Another pic from the Esquire photo shoot. I really like this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BE88tl5QQs6/?taken-by=ericraydavidson&hl=en
>>207 I'm now very sensitive when it comes to facts and fact gathering (and fact checking, I guess). In the office someone had the nerve to say 'I think' about an important issue. My response: 'But do you know because I need you to know!' Said the crazy woman.
>>210 My thoughts exactly! But my job also makes me a tad funny about facts being wrong. It matters, people!
>>205 anon1, I feel like you may be in my line of work. You always know how to find out the goods. And you always see the tweets I see.
Tom is home!
>>214 Ah, bet he's happy to see Bentley.
Here's hoping for a cringe-less GNS that I can actually watch. Wishes: NO impressions, mentions of Hiddlestoners, mentions of fanfiction, yodeling, singing, dancing, tit-like behavior.
Oh my god he's on the bloody news!
And really OMG OMG he apparently spent today with school kids for UNICEF - which I knew - but at a school which is visible from my house. How did I not know this? How did I not sense his aura? How did I mercifully escape seeing him when I sloped out for a coffee wearing jogging pants almost as worn and hole-ridden as his? (Though maybe he would have identified with this)
>>218 Oh yeah, he's been promoted to Unicef AMBASSADOR. As in: 'That's MR. AMBASSADOR to you, pleb.' I don't know why I'm screaming. And I don't think he'd call anyone a pleb.
PS Now Unicef - in true UN fashion - is going to end childhood poverty with a sponsored dance-a-thon featuring celebrities....hmmmm, who could TH dance with to end poverty?
>>219 Can you imagine the mummies at the school gates? I would think they would have been notified.
Why are you so dressed up today, mummy? Why are you wearing so much make-up? Why are we pretending daddy doesn't exist?
>>221 I'd have been like "the sun's shining and anyway I love my bikini and these heels."
Though it's really not that kind of school. I bet it's his first time setting foot in a state school. I think it was chosen because it is the rare combination of being near his home, being a state school and being diverse. He lives a lot closer to the state school that the Milibands went to but that's much posher and hence probably wasn't chosen.
>>224 It certainly looks like Taylor didn't want any gossip about her no longer being with Calvin: http://www.celebitchy.com/484177/taylor_swift_calvin_harris_definitely_still_together_despite_met_gala_drama/
Whether he cared one way or the other about getting publicity from the dance-off, or about damage control, I don't know. There is a no phones rule and he didn't look as though he was aware he was being filmed. He looked like he was a bit drunk and hanging out with the pretty popular girl on his last night in the US.
Judging by Torrilla's latest snaps, the $1400 grey polo shirt has gone back to the designer and he has bought himself a budget version. Aaaw!
It was all Swifty's idea, apparently.
Tom says trolls have put him off Twitter: http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/tom-hiddleston-trolls-put-twitter-944257.html?f=rss
Though for what? The negativity of too many heart eyes? I have heard that the blue tick verified accounts have a function whereby you can only see comments from people you follow; and his tag is full of hearts, heart eyes and even for ISTL not many poo emojis.
>>229 I've actually blocked a few people who regularly tweet terrible things to him. I won't mention usernames but if you've been in his tag I'm sure you've seen them.
>>230 I'm not a great Twitter user but I haven't seen them. Whenever I go to his tag I have only seen the "I love you" stuff and there's so much of that I tend to get bored and stop scrolling. Sad to hear if he does get trolled.
"She won’t discuss her love life: Olsen says it’s just something that is “in her bones” and influenced heavily by her notoriously private older sisters. “From an outside point of view, people have an interest in people they’ve seen grow up. But no one in my family has ever cared to feed into that or make it more interesting than it is because, really, it’s not.”
>>234 Not yet. For me, today, it was all about the Work.
>>233 Fan art. Chatty Man (whom I hate) did that and Couch Potato linked to it for me on the Chinese non-censored version of YouTube and I watched it while I was in China and nearly barfed.
I got about 30 seconds in. I love Mark Kermode. Front Row was a wonderful radio programme when he presented it. Sob, sob. Mark, what have you DONE? Also, getting musical here for a moment, you could use this rendition as a metronome. Every note was bang on the beat. The original version is such a beautiful song, at the interstices of country, blues and gospel. I've been listening to a bit of HW in advance of seeing the movie. More sobbing.
Oh my bleeding ears.
I'm going to celebrate the fact that finally ISTL promo is finally over. The turkey is basted.
>>238 I wonder if it's that James Ivory film adaptation of Richard II. He's been rumored as attached to the project for a while.
TH on GNS. Much better than the last go-round. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jSSRUcFz40
>>239 I wonder. I haven't listened to the podcast of Front Row but the tweet from the presenter didn't say stage, just Shakespeare.
And now for something completely different ..
IF the Richard III or James Bond gigs don't end up working out for Tom, he may at least have a small role to play in the new Star Wars films.
Tom is at the BAFTAS. TV awards only so it's a lot less glam, usually - looks like they are trying to make it about more than soap actresses in unfortunate pleather dresses.
>>243 Pleather is a beautiful fabric: natural, breathable, classy. You obvs don't know nuthin bout fashone.
>>242 There are Star Wars books? I'm not a fan, haven't seen the newest one and probably won't until it comes on basic cable. If he does get a role, I hope he's wearing an adult diaper when they tell him. Otherwise, Olly's going to have clean-up duties. He'd be that excited.
Great little interview from BBC radio.
He doesn't do a very good audition for The Archers - the accent and his impromptu both stink, but he let's out some sweet little gems throughout.
>>244 Anoooooooon.!!!!!!! How are you?
Did you see HR? Did you enjoy it?
I finally saw HR on the weekend with friends and we all loved it. I'm astonished it has been so divisive with audiences. Considering the amount of walkouts I expected it to be far more violent and controversial. My bf, who is a huge Ballard fan and has been squeeing with excitement since filming began, felt the film descended into mayhem too rapidly. He wanted a longer film with more focus on the build- up. The concensus was that LE and his porn moustache stole the show, especially his mad dancing and the soundtrack is phenomenal. It's my favorite TH film to date and I'll watch it again.
>>249 As an ex smoker who steals cigarettes only when drunk I feel we have an affinity
Oh god. Time to break out the puppy water spray again: http://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/baftas/news/a793392/tom-hiddleston-hits-the-decks-at-the-baftas-afterparty-ladies-and-gentlemen-its-the-night-manager/
>>251 Ha! I guess he finally released the valve after all those months of hard work. He really is 'that guy' at parties; close talker, obnoxious dj overthrower and occasional guitar twanger. Lucky he can dance.
Seriously, he screamed 'Ladies and gentlemen it's the night manager' !?! Sounds like he had some party twat enhancers
This kind of makes up for it: http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2016/may/09/double-agents-007-elba-and-hiddleston-bond-at-the-baftas
>>252 people probably died in his rush to get to the decks.
Oh, and a dance-off with absolutely my least favourite British actor: http://www.tv3.ie/xpose/article/entertainment-news/202347/Tom-Hiddleston-busts-a-move-at-TV-BAFTAs-bash
>>256 No I mean Martin Freeman!
Here is our boy as DJ. Cringe, cringe: http://twh-news.tumblr.com/post/144095160126/theres-our-night-manager-managing-the-night
>>257 Oops, that just occurred to me as you wrote it.
Oh, poor boy. At least when I behave badly I can undo most of the damage with a day of conscientious untagging on Facebook. He must be cringing in his mancave
>>258 "Cringing in his mancave" - genius! I bet he has a leather beanbag.
I've just inadvertently worked out how to emoji here
>>259 Yes, black leather, all wet and sticky from spilt whiskey and tears
It was attached to the twitter comment. Copy and paste from twitter. There's so many heart eyes to choose from!
'Fuck, it's terrific,' he says as he sweeps back his hair!! I'm glad he didn't do all the sound effects when he pulled it out in the film. I remember it being a quiet death.
>>247 I wasn't gone for that long!
>>247 >>248 I think people like me are the reason it's been called divisive. I won't be going to see it in the theatre. High-Rise got my $9.99 and that's it. I felt so discombobulated by...everything. And then I started to think too much about it. Do I feel discombobulated because the people in the building feel that? But the people in the building behave like everything's normal. Is this allegory or metaphor? What the hell? As I was doing that, I missed the paint fight, Laing humping on the pregnant lady and an orgy and had to rewind.
The look on this woman's face!!!
>>266 I spent a few minutes thinking "Tom has a big chicken? Wha???" before I got this. The emoji most used in the gay community is apparently this one: 🍆
>>267 Looks like a still from a horror movie.
She is airbourne and appears to be gasping for her final breath after being stabbed.
I had an uncle who used to literally throw his dance partners around in a similar manner. It was all fun and games till I threw up on him.
I'm so surprised at how few screens ISTL is on in London. Thought I might catch it at my local PIcturehouse or at The Arthouse this week. Will have to take a trip across the river or into town at this rate if I want to see it.
>>272 It's rubbish! Not showing at any of the Everymans or at the Tricycle. I am going to have to head into town I think.
>>273 I'm actually a bit shocked - I thought that it might be on at either the small groups like Everyman and / or Picturehouse, seemed to be right up their street. Really awful distribution deal. They must just not have bothered. Feel a bit sorry considering all the promo interviews TH has been doing.
>>274 It is on at Picturehouse Central - possibly not all of them.
>>272 Two - TWO - theatres on the island of Manhattan. A few more in Brooklyn and Queens.
They spent what must be a laughable about of money on promo but didn't then actually get it into many theatres.
There's now footage of the dancing. Just go to my original link >>267
He's a smooth bastard, but that girl was whipped around like a rag doll. Good on her for keeping her feet!
>>275 Yeah, only PH Central. I refuse to go to a cinema in the middle of bloody Westfield and wanted to go to a day screening.
>>277 I dance salsa a lot. I think you mentioned that you do too. That's the guy nobody wants to dance with.
Alistair Petrie tweets: "Episode 4. Watch it. No ifs. Some butts." https://(twitter).com/alistairpetrie/status/730055591473844224
This would be a funny joke were it not for the fact that AMC has apparently edited the arse out.
>>276 It's terrible, isn't it? I feel so sorry for him putting weeks of his holiday time into promoting a movie that it is virtually impossible to see. In fairness it has been showing at a small number of central London cinemas in the Odeon and Vue chains, but not in the art house cinemas where one would have thought it might attract an audience. Also for my purposes I need to be able to buy a dry Martini at 1.30pm to get me through the horror, not really a possibility at family friendly venues!
>>279 It's our couple-time activity!! I learned with the Italian, and then my fiancé and I took lessons together when we were going out. TH is actually the guy I would pick, because I would look sooo much better! He just needs someone to say, 'Stop. Stop. Breathe. It doesn't need to be this way.' Talk about internal decapitation. It wouldn't surprise me if that girl were in a neck brace.
>>282 What are you referring to Savvy? To ISTL tweets or Dancing Queen Tom tweets?
The replies to his tweet with the link to the Guardian article on the children from countries in crisis. There was a girl complaining that he "censored" her reply. She seems to have deleted the tweet now (probably because of his fans) but she did republish the tweet that he censored (but without mentioning him). It's absurd because all she did was comment on the article by saying "shame on the UK" (I saw it before she deleted it too).
>>282 I'm not sure I see that. I clicked on a few egregious "I love your eyes" type replies and they all said "in reply to @twhiddleston" at the top.
>>283 He's the guy who dances with you and afterwards your right arm is 6 inches longer! He needs the lesson about subtle leads.
He really needs some dance lessons.
>>265 PS I only just saw this. I think he says, "fuck it's horrific" - which at least sounds less like he loves his own noises.
>>285 That's probably because this sort of tweet usually brings out the 'I'm an intelligent, educated, feminist, humanitarian who happens to be really committed to the same issue as you, Tom' types and not the heart-eyes, teenager types.
>>285 I'm not going to link her tweet here but it's not difficult to find it. She wrote exactly the same comment on the new tweet.
Maybe he did it by accident and the poor girl thinks he didn't like what she wrote. She doesn't seem to be following him though.
So twitter tells me there was no 🍑 in last night's ep. of TNM. Twitter is REALLY telling me this - a lot.
Twitter is 😡 😡 😡 and ready to 🔫 a trick (this isn't Survival Knife Crime Island, it's Where the Hell Are My Bullets Land).
I'm sure this is available somewhere (without a eoblockergay) - Torrilla probably has it up, but I thought I would link this version here for those who can access it.
Here he is on Virgin radio. It's a playlist sort of interview. Portishead's ABBA cover is at about the 10:45 point and Tom comes in after that.
Went looking for a link to a pic on one of the old boards and I stumbled across a link to a tweet from a couple of years ago from the meercat (remember her?). Saying she lived near TH in London. God, that one was in deep delusion for a loooong time.
>>293 Apparently the power of the people has caused AMC to back down. He Hiddlesbum will now be going international: http://nypost.com/2016/05/11/theres-big-news-about-tom-hiddlestons-butt/
>>298 more likely an attempt to improve the bad ratings with the live+3, the show hasn't been doing very well.
Tom inspires Turner Prize nominee?! http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2016/may/12/turner-prize-shortlist-anthea-hamilton-michael-dean-helen-marten-josephine-pryde
>>292 I know who she is. She tweets about him quite often and always shows up when we search his name. But she's always praising him and his work, which makes the alleged censoring even more odd. I bet she wrote the comment as a new tweet instead of using the reply function. It happens to me all the time. I reply to someone's tweet but for some reason it doesn't go through and then I just copy/paste the whole thing (including the tags) into a new tweet.
Why does my name show up as Couch Potato?
>>302 If you don't put anything in the box saying "name" the board will call you Couch Potato.
If you do pick a name, would you mind choosing a name other than Anon? The board already has an anon1, an anonymous, an Anon (me!), an anonsy, an Anonon and an Anon. (note the dot!). We all post here more or less regularly and we like to know who we're talking to.
Right. Sorry about that. :)
Do you know what's happening on that other Tom Hiddleston forum at Lipstick Alley? It seems to be inactive for a while. It says there's a new thread but I can'd find it. Maybe his people are really trying to control his image on the internet and shutting down the hot spots.
>>304 Welcome Anon2!
I never ventured to LSA. Others may know what's going on. If his people are trying to shut down hotspots either they think we're not hot (booooo!) or they haven't found us yet ;)
I'm not exactly new here. I'm a long time lurker. And I think you're hot. :) You're all very sane people comparing to the nuts over there at LSA who are always at each other's throats. They spend more time talking about themselves then discussing Tom Hiddleston's work.
Don't tell me the Fail has a scoop. Just when I thought the Bond rumours were dying down.
>>306 I used to lurk over at LSA too so I know how to navigate that hot mess of a main board they have, hence the link. I'm not there anymore; it's a - as my mother would say (she doesn't like to use the F-word) - a 'cluster mess.'
>>310 Thank you for the link. Ah yes another thing I like here is the sense of humour. :)
After the famous dance off with Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Swift makes a new ad for Apple Music in which she's dancing like nobody's watching. Our boy got jealous an started following everything Apple (from Apple Music to Apple TV). He's shouting 'Pick me, pick me!! I wanna dance for Apple too!'
>>307 Wasn't it always July? I think he's said as much in recent interviews. Can you divulge if it's now the end of July instead of the start? (If you're doing make-up...exciting!!!!)
I'm worried about Thor III simply because the director Waititi hasn't ever done a large movie like this and the concept of it as an interstellar 'buddy movie' with more of a comic bend makes my movie-panties dry like the Sahara. I understand that comedy is in Hemsworth's very limited wheelhouse, but come on!
Here's an article from The Toast.
>>307 Ick - too embarrassing. I couldn't get through the third paragraph, writer needs to take a cold shower before getting on her computer.
>>301 I didn't say she unfollowed him. I said she doesn't seem to be following him. Not sure whether she was his follower before. Frankly, I couldn't care less about her. The question here is whether he's trying to control his internet mentions or not.
>>315 If you have a peruse through Waititi's back catalogue you'll see he has a pretty good handle on humour and bro- bonding storylines. I have a bit of a crush on him actually and I'm looking forward to seeing if and how he can revive what has become a dull franchise.
>>322 Oh, yeah, he's got the buddy comedy down; that's his thing. I just don't want to see a Hulk/Thor comedy.
>>297 I forgot to respond to this, Anon. Wait for the next 'THEO' and she'll be back. I suspect that she's never too far from the surface. Was she around during Bora Bora/Arthy? Were any of us?
>>323 Maybe if we say there was a THEO sighting on Instagram she'll come back! I don't remember her making any crazy posts back during the Bora Bora days, but it's been a while. I think she was active on Twitter but hadn't found her way here yet.
>>324 I don't think she made posts on here until last summer. But she was tweeting ages ago claiming to be a neighbour in London. Someone on here linked to those tweets in all innocence - not knowing what we now know about where she actually comes from.
>>322 "Spokesperson"? Luuuuuuke, we see you!
I am not too worried about Thor 3. I am back in my box after how Shit Island looks to have turned out - a really good cast (probably better than the originals who dropped out) and all the evidence suggests they didn't take it seriously, which I now feel sure will come across in the movie and make it fun. (For the opposite effect cf ISTL)
Hilarious interview about HR, mostly because Ben Wheatley is a very funny man: http://www.salon.com/2016/05/13/how_high_rises_orgy_scenes_got_made_on_a_budget_game_of_thrones_has_pumped_the_per_person_cost_of_nudity_through_the_roof/
Non-iTunes version of a podcast he did for Awards Chatter, probably back in April. Goes into detail about his childhood, parents, schooling and getting into drama, Ken Branaugh, and acting: https://player.fm/series/awards-chatter/tom-hiddleston-the-night-manager
Not an interview, but a character study by an actual journalist(!) who wove TH's film characters together into a theme regarding his life: http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2016/05/12/tom-hiddleston-charm-without-cheer
This I thought was very texting and well-written. It's a lengthy review of his career to date which suggests he is staying too much within his comfort zone to be great: http://www.seventh-row.com/2016/05/14/tom-hiddleston/
Well, I finally went to ISTL today, despite the fact that the sun was shining. Fan guilt!
Due to a paucity of screenings anywhere, I ended up at a lunchtime screening at the Westfield (giant shopping mall in West London, for the uninitiated). This actually proved quite useful as there was a tapas bar right by the entrance, which helpfully sold me a giant glass of white Rioja to get me through the entertainment.
>>331 After that great opening scene (what did you think of that, Anon?) the rest of the movie was a jumble. The Luke the Drifter scenes barely had any context within the rest of the movie. I was in a theatre with only 8 other people on opening weekend. It was doomed.
>>332 I loved the first scene. The best in the whole film. Though all the live music scenes were great.
By the way, I did have a chuckle at one thing in the awards chatter interview. Do you remember ages and ages ago at the Nuffield talk, he talked about how at RADA they make you practice your weak skills over and over, but refused to say what his had been? I speculated it must have been singing and that 2 months after he finished filming ISTL he felt too sensitive about his performance to admit it? Well in this interview he confessed that it was - singing!
>>333 Yes! I caught that. Finally, an admission. Shoulda just owned it from the beginning and used the experience as an "I overcame it" anecdote.
>>331 I did almost exactly this Anon - I went to Westfield on Saturday morning, I was the only person in a dark cinema (I think they thought no-one was going to bother turning up) until just before the opening credits, then two other people came in and screen came on!
>>335 I did at one point think about sidling up to the other woman in the screening and whispering "N8anon?"
Good job I didn't!
>>336 That would have been hilarious! I'm kind of sad I didn't do the lunchtime one now. I could have met you AND had wine.
>>337 We should agree to do it for his next movie! Skull Island - will it be another stinker requiring wine?
>>338 I think if it is bad, wine will be required, if it's good lots of wine will be required.
so cute :))))
ISTL takes £17k on its opening weekend: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/7157900/Tom-Hiddleston-odds-on-to-be-007-but-his-latest-movie-is-a-flop.html
Yikes, you'd think someone was out to get him, these articles are harsh.
Here's your home wrecker Timor. There's a National Enquirer (US) article saying Taylor Swift left her DJ boyfriend to go with Tom. I have no link; someone took a photo of the page and threw it up onto tumblr.
"Timor" was supposedly to be 'rumor.'
>>343 I'm glad you cleared that up, I really racked my brains about Timor. TH has been playing it smart for so long now I doubt any real dirt will kick up.
>>343 I think the NE is behind the curve - she made sure she was papped with her dj boyfriend a couple of days after the Met Gala and also made sure to Instagram her private after after party at which Tom was not present. I take that as her way of scotching the rumours (or Timors!).
By the way, I know the Enquirer is a rag, but I did think it interesting that throughout the press the THEO rumours seem to have died a death as suddenly as they appeared. It's just an impression, but journos seem not to be writing "TH and rumoured girlfriend EO..." even though he has been in the press a lot as possible next Bond.
>>347 We'll never know if it ever was a meaningful relationship or just a casual hookup but it certainly appears to be dead and dusted. I agree rumors that persistent and prevalent are rarely complete falsities.
EO is currently referred to as an ex, if mentioned at all and TH has made a concerted effort to be seen flirting with the laydeez.
If I was in a long distance relationship and we were both on a hiatus from work, you can guarantee there'd be a dick storm. This is no time to play coy!
>>348 Yes, isn't the point about having a FWB that when you both have a week off work you hang out together and bonk each other senseless?
Of course we never saw him with the JArthy and then she popped up in BB. However given that they both live close to each other in London it would have impossible to even guess how much time they actually spent together. If TH is jogging in London and she is shopping in LA no hooking up is going on. Maybe they're texting a lot (looking at you, US Weekly!).
Here's the text of the article if anyone's interested (via Celebitchy):
>>345 my iPhone spell checker is full of fail. Also I thought the Guardian liked him - he was their White House Correspondence Dinner guest. Or am I too easily fooled?
Well, maybe Bora Bora is back on. EO is on her way to London: https://www.instagram.com/p/BFpiE3JgiS_/?hl=en
Or maybe not. This is the friend she spent her birthday holiday with.
The BBC has been coming under pressure to reveal the salaries of its stars. However due to a loophole it won't have to reveal TH's salary (because TNM was made through a production company so he wasn't officially a BBC employee):
>>352 Haha. Maybe I'm not like other people, but if I was going to London for a sex vacation with Tom Hiddleston I would definitely not be bringing a friend along... unless Tom is into that. We should start a new rumor, someone send a message to the Bicycle.
>>354 The friend is off to France as she has posted a pic of a guide book.
Comments on her IG suggest she has recently(ish) split from Tom Felton (why do strangers feel the need to post such horrible comments on this poor woman's page, by the way?). So my guess is that she and EO are holidaying together. I can't imagine she is dropping Lizzie at Tom's man cave and going on a road trip round France on her own.
>>355 I will never understand why people behave the way they do on social media. They (hopefully) wouldn't walk up to a stranger in the flesh and harass them about their ex, so why do they think it's acceptable to do it on the internet?
>>354 Why stop at a threesome? JArthy's still around the corner and Swifty's dumped her bf and probably bought the house across the road and let's not forget the drunk slapper who was swung like a pendulum at BAFTA. I'm certain he's organised an orgy. Involving a lot of really bad dancing. And Shakespeare. They will role play every Bond film.
That Instagram picture is not innocent. They know Tom's fans check that account. EO and her people are trying to bring back the already forgotten romance with Tom Hidleston. She's irrelevant and no one talks about her (apart from some planted photos of her doing some shopping or walking out of a SPA) but Tom has been all over the news for months. He's everywhere, especially with the Taylor Swift and Bond rumours. EO is chasing Tom Hiddleston and I'm sure she's already called him telling him she'll be in London for some days and would love to have dinner with him. Poor Toom is a gentleman and won't be able to say no.
I posted a comment on Celebitchy saying that EO is on her way to London (with a link to this forum) but it was deleted by the moderators. Then I posted a comment asking why it has been deleted and guess what... yep, it was deleted too.
I think they are tired of the THEO nonsense and have moved on. Their queen bish mod is over it and trying to hook him together with Taylor Swift = clickbait.
>>359 Speaking purely personally, I am rather glad the link to this forum got deleted. I know we have a wider readership than the number of regular commenters, but by and large it is a quiet little backwater - with good links and info of course! I'm keen to keep it that way. I'd hate it to get like CB with those endless back and forth "no you're wrong" "no YOU'RE wrong" arguments.
>>360 Welcome! I miss those old CB threads too. Some of them were hilarious - and much more good natured than they are now.
Or maybe they are being paid by Tom Hiddleston's publicists.
>>361 I'm with you Anon. Even though I came to the party a bit later, I prefer the intimate affair we have going on here to large forums.
'The very tall and handsome Tom Hiddleston spotted in Belsize Park and now I cannot focus on the weekend supplements'
Is he ever going on a holiday?
>>365 Hawaii, Vietnam and the Gold Coast. You're right - who needs another tropical island vacation? Especially since the SI shoot looked like it involved plenty of fun vacation-type activities (unlike CP - a gloomfest in Toronto in winter). And he'll be away for a long time for Thor 3 - till Christmas? I can imagine that another 2 weeks living out of a suitcase might not feel like much of a rest.
>>364 We are a very exclusive bunch - though we have some interesting lurkers, including I think a new gossip tumblr.
I confess that I've been lurking for some time. It's my sisters's fault tough. She's the one who discovered this site. But I swear that none of us is on tumblr.
TH having lunch with 'mystery woman' who (dare I say it) looks a lot like the JArthy with a nose job on the verge of tears. I do hope she's back (or never left) and I can't tell you how relieved I am it's not EO. Good to change it up a bit there TH, even if you are recycling
And if this is EO (which I think it is) it looks like she has already left London with her friend:
It's JA, I'm 90% sure and that's my conservative estimate
You know what, I think you might be right about it being the JArthy.
>>374 I hope Anon. is checking in between wedding prep to see the return of the Blessed JArthy. If you are, Anon., all those Hail Marys paid off! The JArthy is back!
Not to want to rain on anybody's gossip parade, but I wonder if this was a chance meeting. JArthy lives locally to the coffee shop and she has a laptop with her, which seems an odd think to take to a planned lunch. She may have gone there to work and met up with him by chance.
>>375 I think you may be right, blessed as this may be. It looked to be the tense and teary lunch of ex lovers rather than complacent idiot grinning freshly fucked lunch.
She has also made no effort to wash her hair or put on a face which is the least I would do (unless we rolled out of bed together)
I'm not 100% convinced. There's a pic of JA on Edith Bowman's instagram a few weeks ago and this looks a little different. She looks like an actress who I cannot remember the name of.
>>377 How awful to be an actress that people can't quite place!!
>>377 More to do with my appalling memory than anything else. Who knows, maybe it is JArthy. How exciting.
The return of JArthy rumors?! Those conspiracy theorists who think she and Tom are secretly married are going to be thrilled.
>>375 >>376 Now that I've seen all the pictures I'm inclined to agree with you both. They hugged after the meal (empty glasses on the table) and then left separately, maybe not even at the same time - there's no way to be sure from the photos how much time lapsed between the departure of her with her laptop and Tom with his tiny coffee cup, unless I missed something.
>>380 The last time I checked (months ago) there were still a few "he's still keeping her hidden from public" conspiracy theorists left.
I actually feel relieved it's her, tense though the meeting may have been. (The prayers paid off, huh?)
The only marriage rumours I heard were about SF. The Guardian published an article really early on in his career saying he was married. They then issued a correction. I always wondered if (like other newspaper stories) there was a grain of truth and that they were engaged or something. The journo must have got the idea from somewhere and there wasn't much info about him out there at that time.
It's clearly Jane Arthy. I don't have an opinion on her but I'm glad he's not with that dumb and annoying Olsen sister.
It seems this isn't the first time....
>>388 I reckon most people have this ability. There are some dreadful photos of me out there and some really nice ones.
I am not sure TH looks atrocious in many/any photos though! I never cease to be amazed how good he looks at any time and from any angle.
>>389 Sometimes his fivehead (or sixhead if you add the hair) is rather confronting. I frequently wonder what exactly it is I find attractive and then he dazzles with another corker. He is a bewildering crush and I can only surmise that it's this enigmatic quality I find attractive
>>390 Agreed - his hair does not flatter when it is swept back from the forehead, sticking up like Beaker and full of product. Or when it is cut very short. It looked great in TNM in the Devon scenes when it was longer and fluffier, and he really didn't look like he was receding more than any man of 35.
I also loved the HR longer hair that fopped over his forehead. It was so lovely to see movement in his follicles!
There's all kinds of clever hair products like Toppik that most hair stylists and balding men use (it's a bit of a disaster in rain though). I think some days he uses it, and others he clearly doesn't. He has worn fringe hairpieces/ wigs on several of his films- CP, Avengers, TDW, OLLA. You'd be surprised how many celebrities cheat with lace fringes. Perhaps they did in TNM? Otherwise it's a 'growth' treatment or shave it clean off. He probably has a few more years before he has to make a drastic decision.
Josie Rourke has just tweeted that there is mega Donmar Warehouse news coming up at midday today. Maybe some more theatre Tom in the offing?
>>392 I really don't think it looks much worse than it did in The Deep Blue Sea - he had it swept back in that and you could see he had receded. I think a lot of it has to do with wearing it unflatteringly short.
>>393 All female trilogy of Shakespeare plays in a special venue. No TH!!
Forgot to add: He's holding an iPad.
>>398 I saw a tweet from the 'mystery blonde' who is a well known historian, that she tried to shield him from the paps and ended up just getting in his way. There's nothing going on there, ha! He looks so drunk.
She's intelligent, beautiful, a humanitarian and in the media so it's kindof a shame, she sounds ideal in my matchmaking mind.
>>400 Yep, I just saw the tweet from her. If only I'd waited 5 mins. :D
I saw it the other night but she didn't say where they were so it didn't seem worth posting.
>>397 Whenever I read this headline it makes me think of The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good
Ah, Suzannah Lipscomb.
Another Suzannah :D
Business meeting, I'm sure....
Surprise, surprise. Now TH has been back in London for a couple of weeks the nw3 blog has started up again. She's a right attention-seeker, that one. And as usual has deleted all her old posts, now on the basis that they are all too boring apparently.
Huffpo fires back at The Sun for 'demoting' Dr. Lipscomb: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/the-sun-tom-hiddleston-mystery-blonde-noted-historian-dr-suzannah-lipscomb_uk_5746ef2fe4b0ebf6a32952ac?edition=uk&7ifev7uqhk31jaif6r=&_utm_source=1-2-2
>>407 Proper delusional weirdness there. Very attention seeking.
Very cute pic of Tom with the little girl whose story he read out at the Globe today for the 500 word competition. He took his specs off! http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-05-27/the-power-of-500-words
Supposedly TH is in "advanced talks" to play Bond. So say "sources close to the actor". Whether they are the same sources that denied he had met with Sam Mendes, only time will tell: http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2016/05/27/exclusive-tom-hiddleston-in-talks-for-bond-25
Faintly silly tweet from some interior designer that he must have met at a party or something, touting for business - now deleted of course. What possesses people to tweet this stuff? Hardly likely to suggest to him that he should use her!
>>415 Attention seeking, of course. But this is not as bad as that tweet from his hairdresser with a print screen of a private message from Tom. And that stupid Frenchie girl retweeted it. A private message should remain private even if it's just a twitter DM thanking you for your services.
>>416 I can't believe that crazy fan goes to the same hairdresser as well!
>>417 She's still inserting herself into his extended life circle? I thought she'd gone back to France already.
A genuinely interesting article about Tom's ancestors fighting in WW1. And a pic of a great uncle whom he noticeably resembles: http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/tom-hiddlestons-family-hero-who-8072263
'Just ran into man of the moment @twhiddleston @HeathrowAirport Can confirm he stayed super cool during attempted hair product confiscation'
I'm amazed stayed super cool considering his attachment to his hair product.
>>424 Maybe he is going to see Barbara Broccoli! Ha ha!
Meanwhile, in case anyone thought TH was flying to LA for a lovers' reunion, EO is still in Europe. And on some special train for the Dior cruise collection, which looks amazing, I have to say: https://www.instagram.com/p/BGEq6dSAiVK/?taken-by=jadeolivia_g&hl=en
Arriving at LAX: same outfit again! http://hqbirds.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=1179
It was suggested on tumblr by the theoanons blog that TH might have gone to LA to audition for this Grandage-directed remake of Guys and Dolls (is nothing sacred?). This has a horrible ring of plausibility. TH has worked with Grandagr, of course, and he has mentioned only about 4000 times on the press tour that he was in G&D at school. http://deadline.com/2016/05/michael-grandage-guys-and-dolls-movie-remake-frank-sinatra-marlon-brando-1201764792/
Susanne Bier shortlisted for Bond directing duties: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/jun/01/james-bond-director-susanne-bier-night-manager
Apparently Tom dances Too Much: http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2016/06/01/yes_tom_hiddleston_is_a_crazy_good_dancer_but_the_media_is_turning_him_into.html
Preview of the Variety Actors on Actors with Aaron Paul. Ominous signs that this may be too much of a mutual suckfest to watch without second hand embarrassment. Also TH doing usual trick of looking bored when someone over than himself is talking. Anyway, link here: http://variety.com/video/aaron-paul-twitter-p-diddy/
OT: it is Wizard World weekend, so IIRC it's Anon.'s hen weekend. If you still are checking in here, hope you have a wonderful time! xx
Wizard World schedule. He must be looking forward to these 2 days like a hole in the head. That's a lot of time with people who are superfan-ish enough to pay $500 for a photo with you: http://twh-news.tumblr.com/post/145371258021/behold-the-corrected-schedule-for-wizard-world
Infomercial tweet from TH: has he lost his mind? https://twitter
>>433 Not that I'm looking forward to it....t will be interesting to watch his facial expressions in the inevitable pics posted on IG and TW.
Here's a familiar shirt: https://twitter .com/gia_conte/status/738980064361127936
>>436 It's as if the stylist had never existed! I wonder if she will pop up with "definitely not styled by yours truly" ?!! Looks like even most of the casual clothes went back. He seems to have retained only the grey boots, a couple of pairs of jeans and the Ralph Lauren quilted jacket. What on earth was in that huge case he was depicted arriving with a few days ago?
>>435 And yes, I will be watching the horror unfold with considerable interest. Tumblr seems to suggest there are some uber-fans going (for example the girl who runs cheers mr hiddleston, whose followers allegedly run into the hundreds of thousands). Do they have any idea how little "me" time they are going to get for their 500 bucks? It's going to be 30 seconds on this timetable, isn't it?
And the answer to "what will Tom wear at Wizard World?" is "what he came on the plane in". https://www.instagram.com/p/BGPH9ZCDyk_/
>>437 It was me in the suitcase. Tom packed me in there with as many scarves as he could fit. We wanted to avoid the paparazzi, and what better way than hiding in a suitcase? It's like a giant purse!
>>440 Gotta hand it to you, Lizzie - you're full of surprises.
The poor man was subjected to numerous indignities at Wizard World but I think this was the worst: http://maryxglz.tumblr.com/post/145498843117/when-we-took-our-photo-he-immediately-pointed-at
Poor man he must have been dying inside, though it sounds like he tried to laugh it off.
Here's one from the same outlet that gave us "sources close to TH say he is in advanced discussions for Bond" - maybe he isn't. http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2016/06/06/bondwatch-tom-hiddleston-doesnt-think-hes-playing-james-bond
Back in London already! https://twitter
>>443 I wish I could remember all the twitter pics that have been posted. A good number of cosplayers dressed as Loki, Thor; many women who requested a prom pose. Lots of sandwich hugs with Evans. I don't know how any of them do it. He was the best sport, as patient and good-natured with fans as he's been in the past.
>>447 He's so adorable with his fans. He really seems to be a very nice human being.
Tom heads back to London. Lizzie's BFF turns her instagram account into private.
Nothing to see.... yep.
>>449 I'm not surprised Jade made her Instagram private, she was getting a lot of negative comments from her ex Tom Felton's fans. If you're curious about Lizzie's whereabouts, she has been in NYC since Saturday.
>>449 No, she made it public again. I think it must have been a mistake. She has a personal one which has always been private. I can't see the benefit to her of making an account with 100,000 followers private when she has a separate private one.
>>451 no, my bad - all the pics were in NYC. Get First Lool originally had the Veuve Cliquot event as being in LA.
>>451 Ah! You are right ... yep. Nothing to see here. Move along :D
I've been MIA for so long. I missed you guys :( I thought the Bond discussion would be going strong here. Are we betting on Tom being the next Bond? What do you guys think? The speculation seems heavy that Tom had already been signed. I don't know how I feel about him being Bond. He doesn't really give me Bond vibes. And this is after having watched The Night Manager. He's too sweet and cute looking to be a convincing Bond but then again who knows how he'll approach the role if he does get it.
>>454 Welcome back, NewAnon! I personally am hoping all these alleged negotiations have been for Bond Villain rather than Bond.
>>454 We missed you too! It's been a bit quiet round here lately. He almost killed us off with 2 months of solid publicity.
Not sure how I feel about him as Bond. I doubt it will happen though, somehow.a
He was at Paramount pictures today which means work... it's not exactly a covert operation, whatever he's doing, but it is mysterious.
>>455>>456 Thanks guys! :) Yeah I'm in the same boat as you two right now. Either that they approached him to be a villain (or maybe another part in the next movie, not so much the franchise) but Tom as Bond doesn't seem to be clicking for me. Then again public appearance wise he seems to be following how Craig was before he got confirmed. Craig was all the talk for Bond then he denied getting Bond and then a few days later it came out that he was the new Bond. Kinda like how Tom is right now. Being Bond will definitely give him that mainstream recognition he's been working so hard for. It's going to be such huge news though if he does land the role.
>>458 I just don't know. I didn't like Craig - too unsubtly thuggish - and Tom could be a more suave, intelligent Bond. But have we ever seen him do sexy? Like really sexually predatory? He has done sex scenes I know but even in CP (where the trailer made it look predatory) the actual scene was all sweet and lovey. He's he guy you take home to mum, not the one you have unsafe sex with in the back of his car.
There's something wrong with the relationship between Tom and Chris H. Tom seems genuinely happy to be with Chris and is always trying to include him in the conversation and saying nice things about him. But I don't see the same attitude from Chris towards Tom. Quite the opposite.
I think Chris H is jealous of Tom'success with fans. In the Q&A almost all the questions were directed to TOM.
>>460 Tom said in an interview recently that when he was filming SI in Australia he spent one of his off weekends at Chris's home with him and his family, so I'd assume their friendship is strong enough to withstand Tom getting more fan attention - after all, it's really been that way since the beginning. Maybe Chris is just done with the whole Thor thing. Or it was jet lag.
>>460 I got the impression Chris just hated a Wizard World. He looks like a cardboard cutout in all his fan pics. Evans, Stan and TH were goofing around and being game, but it really looked like CH loathed being there full stop.
>>459 Yeah Tom is sexy in a secure way, not the bad boy type. So if they do go for him as the next Bond, it'll be interesting to see how he taps into it and how he plays him.
I've never read the books and quite honestly, this is the first time I'm even taking interest in Bond in general. I've only seen Casino Royale and enjoyed it and thought I'd watch the other ones when they came out but never really got around to them. I do know that if they cast a black Bond, I will DEFINITELY watch.
Is Tom back in NYC? Or did this person just spot him at Heathrow while she was in transit to the US? https://twitter.
>>464 Last time I saw a tweet like that it ended up that Crimson Peak had been the in-flight movie.
>>465 Yes it could well be! Or she saw him from her taxi or he was off somewhere else or who knows what. It seems so unlikely that he would fly back from the US overnight on Sunday - back in London Monday morning - and then fly out again on Thursday. He does have control over his own diary one would have thought so surely he could arrange to have a meeting in the UK scheduled so he didn't need to do this.
Just leaving this here: https://twitter
>>467 She tweeted a few minutes ago that the pic was taken when he flew into LAX on May 31, so unfortunately nothing new or exciting.
>>468 Oh how bo-RING.
NB that TH is hard to track due to wearing the same clothes every single day!
Well, according to today's Twitter sightings, Tom is fist-bumping fans in London AND running around with a pizza box in New York City - a testament to the unreliability of social media.
Social media gets most of his sightings right. There are a few misses though lol If the tweet about the flight to NY wasn't about watching a movie of his or TNM then he probably could be in NY and the fist bumping in London could be mistaken identity. What could he be doing in NY though (IF he is there)? Work related for sure. But maybe Bond related? A new movie? Anyone with a better grasp on entertainment and Tom's future endeavors wanna hazard a guess?
Okay he is in NYC. @Christy_kats on Twitter tweeted a pic of him when she snapped him.
It's just occurred to me, since he's in NYC I wonder if he'll be going to the Tony Awards on Sunday? His buddy James Corden is hosting this year.
It's just occurred to me, since he's in NYC I wonder if he'll be going to the Tony Awards on Sunday? His buddy James Corden is hosting this year.
(Sorry for the double post, it told me I entered the wrong verification code!)
>>474 Or maybe a taping of another carpool karaoke?
Probably a random guess from some tumblr anon but a rumour that he will be at the Tony awards: http://wthanon4u.tumblr.com/post/145763108730/just-heard-that-tom-will-be-at-the-tonys
>>478 Either that or one of our lurkers stole my idea!
Eh.. the bike site is saying that he was spotted (reported on twatter) in an west side village haivng a meal, in LIzzie's neighbourhood.
Surely Lizzie is enough of a reason to ditch his beloved London for NYC... ?
>>483 Doesn't she live in LA with a friend? I've only ever seen pics of her shopping for groceries etc in LA.
>>484 She has an apartment in Manhatten (per a five second google search) and given how much money she has, I guess a bicostal real estate is not exaclty out of her means..
>>485 Really? Here she is leaving a hotel in NYC recently: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3572040/Elizabeth-Olsen-grabs-caffeine-fix-cappuccino-coloured-mac-heads-NYC.html
Seems a bit odd that she would stay in a hotel if she owns a place in Manhattan.
Lizzie was photographed in Los Angeles on the 10th. She's not in NYC.
It was paparazzi so the pics are on a number of sites, date stamped and all. Here's one for reference.
>>485 >>486 She lived in a small apartment in the West Village while she was attending New York University, and then she and Boyd Holbrook moved to Brooklyn together some time after she graduated. He moved out when they split. No word on if she kept the Brooklyn apartment or not, but she hasn't had the West Village apartment since 2013 or 2014.
>>489 Eh. ok.
Tom is in NY for no good discernalbe reason what so ever.
You guys seem to be really obsessed with keeping THEO alive by tracking every movement each of them make. The funny part about this is they are probably dating other people now while the fandom is still caught up in "what was".
@491 I would say the opposite. Most here want to prove that they aren't a couple. Anonsy did a whole dossier on Olsen to show they aren't together and only shows up when they might be together to toss cold water. Others do the same. I have lurked for a year and its not a pro-girlfriend site for sure.
Really? The impression I get is an unhealthy obsession to keep track of their movements. This board is essentially THEO Anons's and Toby but without the Tumblr angle. A TH board where every other post is a version of: "where in the world is Elizabeth Olsen because if she's within 1,000 miles of Hiddleston well that's serious shiz yo!!!". Seriously?
Are people taking out their anger of not being able to figure out what TH is upto on this board?
>>494 This is probably the only board you'll find where people voice their opinions and speculate about TH and the gossip around him in a completely non serious manner. His career is discussed but even then in a fun manner. No one takes anything here seriously about TH gossip except for those who quietly lurk. They seem to be the only ones taking everything on here seriously then having a fit and lecturing. This is space hasn't been ruined yet so please don't start. There are tons anti THEO and pro THEO and only Tom & his career boards so please make your way there if that's your thing.
This is something I don't understand about the internet. Why put yourself through repeatedly going to a website where you get so annoyed by what's being discussed? I don't care for the conversations and interactions in the Celebitchy comments, so you know what I do? I don't read them. I personally think Town Bike and some other tumblr blogs are a bit ridiculous, so I don't read them either. I don't troll around on Celebitchy and Tumblr posting messages and sending anons about how I don't like what they have to say, I just ignore them and leave them to it.
Just popping by to defend this little corner of the internet (I'm away on holiday) but I post here occasionally and read often. It is definitely one of the sanest, light hearted places I've seen in terms of discussing TH and his work / life. We don't take things too seriously here, compared to the hysteria I've witnessed elsewhere.
Well, I have posted lengthy reviews of CP, HR and ISTL and have read with enjoyment others' reviews/posts about those movies. When TNM was airing it was pretty much all that we discussed - we couldn't wait to get on here on a Sunday night and talk about the latest episode. We've also discussed his work with UNICEF, his stage work and his taste in clothes. If that isn't "Tom and his career", I don't know what is.
>>499 Mr. I Allegedly Like To Keep My Private Life Private is officially dating Ms. Make Everything Public.
Well everyone, it's been fun but I'm out.
>>500 It's so ironic, yes. Especially in light of the 'squad' antics behind the scenes of the SI shoot. Now that he's joined the real squad he's about to be snapchatted and instagrammed by her and her squad like never before.
He suddenly seems less classy, I am leaning towards out too.
Oh jeez I really didn't think Tom would hook it up with Taylor. So much for Mr Privacy. This relationship is going to be epic in how much media coverage it's going to get Tom. He'll finally get the fame he craves. Also does he have a thing for women in relationships? First EO and now Taylor? He sure loves breaking up couples doesn't he? Not feeling it Tom. I'm out too.
>>502 It's also the second count of apparent "homewrecking" now, or he moves in for the kill as soon as a girl he likes breaks up with someone, or he's got a thing for vulnerable women - any of these are a big turnoff for me. When it was just EO I figured that it was a one-time thing, but this is two in a row now.
Oh Tom. You're that guy. Mr Trade Up. Mr "Every girlfriend is younger than the last one." Mr "All my girlfriends were with someone else until I came along."
Well, he will reap the whirlwind now. Like you have all said, his every move will be on Taylor's social media. But maybe that's what he wants. He managed to keep it on the down low when he was in New York (apparently she has a place in the West Village so I guess he was with her). Presumably therefore the decision to snog her in public on a beach right by her house was an equally conscious decision. Mr Privacy just became Mr Famewhore.
>>504 great minds...!
I am thinking homewrecker I'm afraid. She was still with CH at the time of the Met Gala because she was photographed with him a couple of days after. Then a month later she wasn't with Calvin any more. I wonder who'd been sending her Shakespeare quotes by text (or flowers, as a "source" has it) in the meantime? Total turn off I agree.
>>505 The timing of these photos is interesting. They obviously spent his recent US trip together in her NY lovenest and this Rhode Island mansion yet it's only once he returns back to London that they are released to the public.
Looks like a controlled press release to make it official before the homewrecker tagging starts. I don't see how anyone would believe he waited till she was single to take her on a date, especially after the Met Gala documentation and eyewitnesses saying they were also inseparable at the afterparty. I did think her squad afterparty shots were a desperate attempt to try to prove she went home alone/ with gal pals.
Couldn't resist this from Jezebel: "Serial breakup songwriter Taylor Swift and handsome snooze button Tom Hiddleston proved the old adage that what happens in Rhode Island immediately leaves Rhode Island, travels across the ocean, and finds itself on the cover of an English tabloid when photos of the new couple making out on one of the state’s teeny tiny beaches were published by The Sun late Thursday afternoon."
>>509 I'm just staying here to read the headlines, they are so funny.
>>510 The Sun said the pics were from Tuesday which is why I am slightly surprised he managed to get home by today. I did see that mention of him being on a plane. And also of him being spotted today in London! It is like playing Where's Wally. Or Where's Tom's Willy.
Oh. Sorry I was so cynical. Apparently Tom waited until she was single to text her and send her flowers:
"Tom wasted no time in asking Taylor out after he learned she was single. They were texting quite a bit and he asked her out.' Reveal magazine also wrote: 'Tom has had the hots for Taylor since the Met Gala. When he learned she was single, he texted her loads and even sent her flowers." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3643677/Taylor-Swift-Tom-Hiddleston-enjoying-secret-romance-pictured-kissing-beach-following-split-Calvin-Harris-fortnight-ago.html
>>513 it's like THEO except with better PDA pics. Back then Tom's PR said he waited for them to break up before he called the next day and Lizzie's PR said they were takin it slow and it's casual kinda like how Taylor's team is doing. Except this time the ex boyfriend is famous and he's probably going to raise a stink lol I hope Tom knows what he's doing. This is Taylor Swift. And she has a fanbase bigger and crazier than his.
>>513 Sounds familiar - remember the EO tabloid blurb about how he "texted her the very next day" when he found out she was single? You can't use the same damage control article twice in the same year, Luke! ;)
>>513 Oh I'm crying, this is ridiculous! He must be the best sexter known to mankind, managing to woo TS and EO with his magical fingers alone (and flowers). Thats some hilarious damage control. "We didn't cheat, we texted"
This one is an eye opener from VF (usually pretty sycophantic about its cover stars): http://www.vanityfair.com/style/2016/06/taylor-swift-dating-tom-hiddleston
They immediately assume the pics are staged. In fact everyone (apart from the Sun which is pretending they hid behind a rock to get these pics) seems to assume this is - what? A pap sit down (as opposed to a pap stroll).
>>517 I say staged too, or why else would the Sun wait two days to publish them? It's not exactly pursegate- maybe rockgate or seagate.
I'm guessing the love is real and they wanted it out in the open or if you believe conspiracy theorists they're both gay and bearding for one another. For a gay woman she sure has a lot of boyfriends...
>>518 In love? 2 weeks after she broke up with Calvin? I've had a longer relationship with pantyhose.
But the "wanted it out there" part I agree with.
>>519 I had friends who were engaged after two weeks, it can happen. They're still happily married too. Not that this is what we are witnessing, it's all speculation as usual.
My pantyhose rarely last longer than two days
>>518 It's Taylor Swift. She doesn't hide her romances when she starts. This is one relationship of Tom's that everyone can keep track of. So much for the "some things are sacred" lol I think Tom wanted a very famous girlfriend and when he got introduced to Taylor he went for it. I honestly didn't peg him as someone who'd breakup relationships though.
I love you Michael K. In fact I think you just replaced Tom in my affections: http://dlisted.com/2016/06/15/goodbye-tumblr-it-was-nice-knowing-you/
People magazine are suggesting a cheat scandal with the timeline!
Is it just me or does the Internet not seem too crazy about Tom and Taylor as a couple? There seems to be a heavy yawnfest element to them and people are all picking up on how desperately staged their coming out as a couple was. I think if it was done gradually and more naturally it might have gone down differently. Also the cheating thing puts a damper on everything. I personally feel like Taylor cheated and Tom can't help being a serial homewrecker in his pursuit of ultimate fame.
>>524 I would have expected the usual brokenhearted or outraged tumblr posts, or hating on TS, but instead it seems like it was just more of a general turn-off for Tom's fans. I think the serial homewrecker angle is a big part of it, plus the fact that the pictures are so obviously staged.
>>520 True love in two weeks from a standing start I can believe - I took a vacation in Italy with my now hubby 2 weeks after I stated dating him (we were students - no money but plenty of time, ha ha).
It's the true love 2 weeks after officially breaking up with someone else that makes me raise my eyebrows.
Social media feedback is not positive; as one person commented, he's a laughing stock: http://pugsrock77.tumblr.com/post/145997215685/hiddleshoneybunny-lemonade-time-funny
Twice they sad he broke up relationships...he is losing his gentleman status
>>525 The press reaction is the most surprising to me. The press seems completely over them. If Tom was looking for positive press with the Swifty romance, things are getting off on the wrong foot.
>>528 I agree. It's all normal Swifty behavior. And yeah Tom is coming off as the guy who likes to steal people's younger girlfriends or fiancés. First Olsen and now Taylor. He's looking like a sad joke, and the homewrecker thing is a huge turn off. I'm going to side eye every single thing he says now because he seems very disingenuous now.
Apparently he is back in the UK! Spotted at the Aladdin premiere last night (he wasn't in the Daily Mail pics of the event though - is this a case of mistaken identity?)
I am almost certain TH followed Swifty on Twitter right after the Met Gala. He has unfollowed her now because that will totally keep this relationship secret.
>>532 He's still following her, but it's a little less recent than I remembered it being.
I'm seeing more TS slandering for moving on too quickly (perhaps overlapping), it's only TH fans who are sideyeing him for serial homewrecking. Fans of both and the press are extremely underwhelmed to the extent that the coupling has become the butt of jokes. It doesn't help that the staged photos read like a cheesy romance novel. Authenticity is out the window and their chances of being a cool couple are dwindling by the minute. More like stinky gorgonzola.
>>533 My bad. I didn't /scroll down far enough. I thought it was recent. And those who follows who things on the Internet don't work, then!
It would be totally Jarthy2.0 if he unfollowed her!
So Durex China did this: http://m.weibo.cn/u/1942473263
I just read the news on Dlisted :D How are you holding up, guys? :)
I am in a cognitive dissonance here - loving it as a phenomenon and a hilarious gossip bit, disappointed in TH as a person and throwing up in my mouth a little from looking at these cheesy staged pap pics. I mean, look at Mr. Privacy! OMG... Oh well, he always said he wanted a role in a romantic comedy.
>>537 Hello qaz! Nice to see you rejoining the prayer circle at this difficult time for all of us hahahahahaa!
I feel the same. Swifty is pretty, successful, hardworking and a bit earnest. The relationship itself I get. The desire on the part of Mr Privacy to go public after a couple of weeks at most - that I really don't get. I do think less of him for pimping out his private life like this. Is there anyone in the known universe who believes the Sun when it says the pics were the result of a lucky hunch?
>>539 Yeah, I agree. Celebrity and PR aside, I sort of get them together as a couple, but him chasing after her cough*fame*cough just after the split (IF it was AFTER the split), and this sappy erectile-dysfunction-ad-like (whahahaha!) photo shoot, and him agreeing to participate in it? I want to ask where's the real TH and what happened to him, but I guess this IS the real TH.
Or maybe the "real" TH has changed. Fame does things to people I guess. He has always been ambitious and a worker but now he is so close to possibly huge fame, with James Bond etc almost in his grasp that I am sure that changes his perspective. He's also several years further away from real life and into a world surrounded by an increasingly large entourage that tells him this PR crap is what you have to do.
>>490 I was wrong.
Tom was in NY for no good sicernable reason what so ever.
I think Tom hooking it up with Taylor is indicative of him losing out on the Bond role. Don't quote me on it though. He thought he was gonna land Bond and be famous but it didn't work out so he set his sights on having a high profile public romance. I think he probably always wanted to date like this but maybe wanted someone well known to do it with. And Taylor is certainly well known. Though I'll be honest, I don't see this romance lasting too long. I'll be very surprised if it makes it to a year. I wonder what they talk about. Like does he listen to her whine and moan about squad goals and her Katy Perry feud? Or does she remind him of being a teenager again and he's making up for lost time? I honestly can't figure out what drew him to her. Her falling for him makes sense since she dates whoever is in at the moment.
>>544 As someone else online said:
"her 75 million more instagram followers" aka fame.
>>545 That's a little unfair. She's more than just Instagram famous. Taylor is huge in mainstream. Even if you don't follow her or her gossip, everyone hears about Taylor Swift. She's not a social media celebrity. Her social media presence is big because of her celebdom and not the other way around.
I am not sure what you are getting at - my point was that she is hugely famous, as you have also pointed out.
just to add ... I do think that the guy is a very talented actor - I just find it a bit sad that playing the PR game is how and his team feel he needs to get to where he wants to.
Tumblr has thrown up the dirty gem that Luke has just started following Swifty's publicist on twitter.
>>547 oh I thought you were implying that she's only famous on social media and that she's not really famous. Apologies that I misunderstood!
>>549 Really? Oh this is going to be a very public romance. It's going to get shoved down our throats from every corner and angle. This is probably this generation's Bennifer. He's going to be in one of her music videos and then they'll have a very public engagement and then they'll breakup. Or at the very least, it'll be like Henry Cavill and Kaley C showmance. I'm getting so excited! Tom's first public romance. I do hope someone asks him why he changed his stance on being private and whether some things are no longer sacred.
Well... if somehow doubt that these are the headlines that either publicist was hoping for (apologies for the source)
>>551 lol this is backfiring pretty bad for Tom. There's no "what a cool couple! I wish I was them". More like "God I'm so glad I'm not them"
>>552 Well .. from her side .. if the rumours are true that she was dumped, then if she wanted to upset her ex, she seems to have succeeded if his reaction on social media is anything to go by.
For him though .. I guess he gets the much needed US publicity.
.. and truth be told, half the reason I bought THEO but am finding it very hard to swallow whatever this is, is precisely because it was so low-key (argh. sorry).
Called out by the trade journalists too ..

Saw this on Tumblr...accidentally.
The post says this photo was taken weeks ago.
Now, I haven't been following TH for a while, so I have no idea when and where this was. If not correct, my apologies for dragging it here.
>>556 Oh, did some Google search, and it's some Met Gala related party, so not really news.
>>558 Sony Picture Classics had a similar post yesterday about ISTL, tagging them both.
Radar got some fan made video of what is supposed to be Tom on Taylor's balcony http://radaronline.com/videos/taylor-swift-tom-hiddleston-video-day-after-kissing-photos/
Bit of a rehash and of course gets some facts wrong (the year of the Jarthy for example) but puts the finger on the oddity of the PDA - apparently the beach where the photos were taken was minutes away from the privacy of Maison Taylor: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/2016/06/16/does-tom-hiddleston-have-any-idea-what-hes-getting-himself-into/
Scrap all those London sightings. Here he is boarding TS's private jet- with TS.
>>563 I wonder how he will feel about having a GF on set (one that isn't in the movie). A new thing for him and I get the impression he can be a bit intense when working - the SI shenanigans seemed to be a new thing for him.
>>564 The greatest irony is that the SI antics were a direct copy/ parody of her squad. It still causes me great lols to think of TH now earnestly trying to join in with the real thing.
He is acting unusually publicly enamoured with TS and she has a reputation for obsessive cling. Perhaps the mojo is strong enough for him to enjoy her company 24/7 and she can always bring her squad along to Oz to entertain her while he's on set.
>>565 I somehow think hanging with her squad and getting instagrammed on a daily basis is going to get old pretty fast.
I also wondered when I saw him climbing into her private jet how he will cope with being the less dominant party. He has a Pygmalion-like tendency to go for lower status women. Apart from Jarthy they have all been younger, and they all even EO earned less, and were less famous and less educated. I think many men like to protect/dominate their partners and that the urge is particularly strong with him - he's vain and he likes to dominate any conversation (as we've seen so many times on chat shows!). I know Swifty is younger but she is so hugely successful and super rich to boot. Is following her onto her private jet like a lapdog going to lose its appeal after a while?
@566 Theoanos said something like this. I think you are both right if different ways. http://theoanons.tumblr.com/post/145994051396/why-doesnt-he-date-women-his-own-age-or-that-can P.S. She is calling the pap stroll rock and stroll. LOL
>>566 >>567 I am reminded of the photos with Kat Dennings which to this day remain the most wtf, out of his league, starry eyed, awkward deer in headlights of all his supposed romantic dalliances. Her fame surpassed his at the time. He is capable of puppy love adoration and appears pussy whipped enough to carry this on for a while.
Last night was "date night"
They held hands and she showed him pictures and texts on her phone! How long before they make their relationship Facebook official? Do you think they'll go to prom together? Maybe they'll be homecoming king and queen, all the other teenagers will be so jealous!
The press is really not having it. The tabloids are printing and reprinting but press like Guardian, Telegraph, Atlantic, even Daily Beast are just not buying it. I don't think Tom will be able to handle this for the long term. Everyone seems to be laughing at him. I don't know how long these two will last once Tom gets a full idea of how people are reacting to the news. I'm probably being cynical but if they end up being a long term couple, I'll be genuinely surprised.
>>569 I imagine he will have to spend an inordinate amount of time looking at and posing for her social media. The man does love selfies though.
Do you think he has only intellectual smarts- that in fact he's socially vapid, juvenile and entirely stimulated in her company. I think this possibility may the the reason my face keep contorting into a cringe.
>>195 I just remembered my ridiculous theories after the Met Ball and I think in hindsight they were not at all ridiculous!
Point 3 seems rather likely now and certainly explains EO's sudden and inexplicable absence despite being in NY and invited. It also explains why TH was a hungry bitch on heat smothered in Tay Tay glue at the Met. They'd already dirty danced.
"Either way, Hiddleston does not come off well in the relationship. Maybe he thinks this is a move that will help him make the leap to leading-man parts, or even score him that coveted next James Bond role. But lounging on those Rhode Island rocks, he just looks like he’s gone from the media’s dancing monkey ... to Taylor’s."
And actually a sensible comment from tumblr (no link as it was a quote within a quote so not sure exactly who it was):
"This is sad because the accolades that Tom was receiving for his acting and hard work are now being wiped away. Now he’s becoming known as Taylor’s PR-orchestrated love interest, side piece, and a career opportunist. This narrative is not being pushed by the fans, but by the media. The media always controls the news cycle and from the articles I’ve read (with the exception of a few) Tom is being written off as a desperate joke."
"My first instinct when seeing the pictures of Taylor and Tom is that they are definitely staged. But I’m friends with the paparazzo who is credited with those images and he is one of the best in the business when it comes to capturing sneaky pictures."
>>575 Very prescient!
I never actually saw a guest list, just rumours EO would attend, I guess because she was available and has previously been. if she did bow out I wonder if it was because she and Tom had recently split and she didn't want the attention. The timeline on that is pretty murky, non? One thing TH has successfully done in terms of "protecting his privacy" is kick over the traces of when they split. Is he just as much of a serial monogamist as Swifty?
>>579 The pap they interviewed in that article is basically like "you see, my friend who took the pictures is really good at getting sneaky shots... but a lot of times the celeb tips the paps off themselves, and if photos look really awkward they're probably staged."
>>581 He's basically saying they're so so fake while trying to avoid being sued.
>>580 I think my point 1 may have some validity too- that the change of hair color for TS signified an emotional ending with her bf.
All TH's relationship timelines are incredibly murky. He appears to spend so much time alone when apparently seeing someone it's a wonder he can maintain any sort of emotional attachment.
>>579 Fascinating. He hasn't 100% come off the fence, I guess because he doesn't want to deprive his friend of credit for the scoop. But he does give credence to at least the half way house scenario that TS's people tipped them off. So the pics look candid because the subjects don't know exactly what moment they will be taken, just that at some point they will be.
I have a question: is there any proof that these photos were taken when the paper says they were? It's possible they were from earlier and just released now, right? And I'm sure the employee/owner (I forget what she was) of the Date Night restaurant could be persuaded to hold off on tweeting about her frequent celebrity customer TS until a certain date. If this involved anyone other than Taylor Swift I wouldn't question it this much, but I know she has the influence, celebrity and money to orchestrate these things the way she wants.
>>585 YES!! The timing has been questionable from the start, now even more so. While it is surely being used to deflect from Kim K, he was in NY for over a week I think so it's possible they were taken earlier.
The only spanner in the works is that blurry balcony video apparently taken the night after Taylorgate by a fan.
He would have had time to fly back to her by then though.
>>585 I think he hasn't left the US yet and that the UK sightings were wrong. I say this for 2 reasons: first the Aladdin premiere was Wednesday night, and the DM did a big photo article on it. TH wasn't in it. Given the Swifty news a pic of him back in the UK supposedly the day after the canoodling would be big news, but the DM never posted one, leading me to think he wasn't there.
>>586 Even that video though - whichever paper published it (was it the Sun? I can't keep track) could have received it, say, last week, and then sat on it until the time was right for the narrative they were selling.
>>588 It was first published by Radar. The Sun stole it after (!).
>>587 Perhaps he avoided the red carpet. In and out the back door of the theatre. He's done it before.
>>590 Maybe. But then how does he get back to RI to be seen climbing into Taylor's private jet on Thursday morning?
Don't get me wrong, I am not at all dissing the possibility that the pap stroll pics were taken days ago and deliberately released Wednesday night. It's just that since then he has probably been hanging out at Taylor's mansion not being spotted, and that the Aladdin sighting was an error.
>>591 Were those definitely Thursday?
Here is a Tweet from the London vigil on Monday evening. Andrew Garfield is facing the camera in the bottom right corner, but the man on the left side of the photo is almost certainly Tom:
>>592 He's never been afraid of putting in the mileage. It must be a breeze in first class.
In light of recent staged pictures I would suggest that Tay Tay filmed his UNICEF video from her tacky mansion and they photoshopped his library into the background
>>593 Or maybe she flew out to London and picked him up in her private jet. ;P
>>592 Plane pics are from Splash and TMZ published them on Thursday. I would speculate that as soon as the story broke some pap went to RI to see what they could get. With the story huge all over the world there would be no benefit in hanging on to the plane pics for a few days so my guess is they were taken on Thursday.
>>594 I can categorically say the plane pics aren't London - left hand drive car in the foreground!
>>598 Laughs I think.
Please let this be fake, it's just soooo corny and gushing and OTT and unnecessary and does this mean he's about to do a whole spate of interviews on his new love milking it for all it's worth?
I'm calling BS if that's the case. In fact I may even swing to the double bearding camp.
>>595 Oh, just an impersonator, lol. I almost believed it :D
>>600 wait that wasn't Tom in the interview? It sounded like him...
>>Phew. I think the foreign language gave it a weird legitimacy or perhaps I dropped my brain on the floor
>>595 I think my brain just exploded. Did Mr Privacy seriously speak to Belgian (??) radio for no other reason than to confirm his relationship with TS?
PS he said lots of laughs I think. Presumably referring to all of ours.
There's a little note after the audio (I also didn't notice it at first) which says according to Google translate "(The real Tom Hiddleston was sure whether the answers follow the questions really, we can not confirm:.. P)"
>>600 Was it an impersonator? The laugh sounded pretty like him, though it is harder to tell on the phone. The boring theatre anecdote also sounded authentic.
Did they splice together previous legitimate interviews?
I guess we'll know soon enough cause every damn media outlet worldwide will be contacting him for comment and if he's started giving interviews they'll show up any minute.. .. .. ..
It's a really good impersonator if that's what it is.
Please don't make me join the double bearding camp Tom
That reminds me of this Tumblr
Really sounds like him, doesn't it?
Ok it's a splice together job using genuine TH comments from a different interview.
The bit at the bottom translates as: "this was the real Tom Hiddleston. Whether his answers followed our questions, we cannot confirm" - in other words, we have cut genuine answers from him into an "interview" we just made up.
>>609 Damn you google translate, you let us all down. Thanks Anon
>>609 That's a really good work! It would be so cringe-worthy if it were true. But isn't it telling that we pretty much believed it at first (me included)? This showmance was just so unexpected from him (but he did it nonetheless) that I'm basically ready to for anything.
>>611 I got it when I saw that google translate missed out the full stop. When you realise it is 2 sentences it suddenly makes sense!
So, if this is a pasted together interview, what's the explanation of his conversation with the hosts? Has he spoken to them before? Did they happen to dig up footage of Tom talking to people named Martin and Dorothy? I have so many questions. I wish I knew the language.
>>614 I reckon so. I think the comments "she's got a wicked sense of humour etc" may be from the post Met Gala interview with another outlet altogether where he mentions TS.
>>615 I actually googled Tom's name and the phrase "wicked sense of humor" and it's something he said about Natalie Portman during TDW promo. He may have said it again about TS as well, he does have his go-to phrases he likes to use.
>>616 I just looked up the post Met Gala interview I was thinking of and it wasn't taken from that. He said he'd watched her videos and that she was "cool". But I am very sure this is a cut and paste job.
>>617 Thank God it's not real. There's only so much of this strange new version of Tom I can take.
"A spokesman for Tom Hiddleaton said, 'we never comment on our clients' private lives' "
I think we were ready to believe this because everything Tom has done recently is so out of character.
>>571 I was going to answer this before we got diverted onto other things. Yes, I think it is entirely possible that he is "socially vapid, juvenile and entirely stimulated in her company."
I think he probably was uncool and nerdy at college - hence the good grades. He was also not that hot - massive hair, not great skin and his teeth needed fixing. I by he didn't actually get laid a lot. So I reckon he is on the one hand this slightly monkish, intellectual guy who spends a lot of time alone, but also he hogs the limelight and he desperately wants to be the cool kid he never was - I mean, he is trying at 35 to be the groovy guy who takes his guitar everywhere. The guys I knew at college who wore a lot of leather and took their guitars everywhere are all now investment bankers! So yeah, I think he is juvenile in that he doesn't have the self-esteem to be who he is: good looking and successful but also earnest and uncool. He has mentioned how uncool he is and easy to mock in enough interviews that I think it is a sore point. I imagine being with Swifty makes him feel like he is finally the cool guy, getting down with her squad. I am sure he can't see how she also gets mocked for being earnest and uncool.
I just tried to read up on TS since to this date I've found her music and public persona nauseating.
As usual the Urban Dictionary delivered gold:
>>622 I don't think it is just little Hiddles. I'd find that easier to deal with. After all, he's 35 and it must be the pits to be the internet's sexiest man and still not be getting laid. If he's screwing around and having fun, even with an empty vessel, then good on him.
I found them just for a laugh. Tell me these aren't staged - did a pap go to that particular petrol station on a lucky hunch and then wait and hope they stopped there instead of 50 miles down the road? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2965667/Benedict-Cumberbatch-indulges-passionate-pregnant-wife-Sophie-Hunter-shows-bump-road-trip-California.html
>>623 This is the second Guardian article on them isn't it? TH must be dying. The guardian is his newspaper of choice (he's been papped - genuinely - picking up a copy).
>>624 It's unfortunate. As much as I enjoyed speculating about his personal life, his desire for privacy and authenticity was a big part of what drew me to him. This social-climbing, tabloid shitshow has really disappointed me - I liked to think he was "above" this sort of thing. Oh well. I don't see it lasting more than a few months, but the fact that it's happening at all... I'm over him. Not upset, not angry, just... eh. Turned off.
>>627 Yes this. I enjoy the work, the fact that he's cute and laughing with you guys about the silly stuff like his dress sense, while also speculating about his love life.
But you are right, he always seemed to have something else. For me it was being a genuinely clever and intellectual man who when he gave a serious interview was interesting to read or listen to in a way that most actors frankely aren't. He seemed to have a niche whereby he didn't want play to the lowest common denominator - and didn't have to because he was successful in Hollywood even though he didn't fit the mould. I suppose he still is a clever intellectual thoughtful man. But the events of the last 48 hours suggest to me that he is also, in some way I can't quite articulate, an idiot.
The shock is such that I can no longer spell "frankly."
>>628 "But the events of the last 48 hours suggest to me that he is also, in some way I can't quite articulate, an idiot." LOL! Yes. I know exactly what you mean.
>>627 My 😍 have also been replaced with 😵 💩.
Disappointment is the word that lingers and the first word that popped into my head once I saw those photos. I gather that's a bit of a chorus amongst fans.
>>630 And I should emphasise it's not intellectual snobbery about TS because she doesn't have a college education. No flies on her. She is a smart and savvy businesswoman and he would be so lucky to have such a tightly controlled public image.
>>632 I absolutely get what you mean. It is all very teenage - which is part of her image and what appeals to the bulk of her fanbase, but it's not what we've been conditioned to expect from him at all.
>>628 An idiot. Yes, that's articulated perfectly. Juvenile idiot.
This is what happens when Luke isn't around to monitor him constantly.
It seems like the only thing he gained is the number of twitter followers, from 2.91 mil to 2.7
Did anyone post this one? I can't remember. Ouch again. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3645871/Has-Hiddy-REALLY-fallen-calculating-woman-pop-Taylor-Swift-dating-Tom-Hiddleston-bag-man-moment.html
2.7 to 2.91
Anyone want to take bets on the next PR pics?
New pics of rock and stroll http://theoanons.tumblr.com/post/146065365391/i-think-these-are-ones-weve-not-seen-courtesy
>>640 1. they look even more awkward 2.what's the deal with that rock formation? I see rock-thongs personally..
Peeks in. Waves. Hey guys. Real life hit me hard over the past month which explains my absence.
Married, honeymooned....knocked up. Yeppers. I was before I went to Libya but didn't realize it. Sorry I put you in so much danger, zygote, and exposed you to all those stress hormones! We already think the kid's going to come out suffering from PTSD. Thankfully I wasn't showing at the wedding so I didn't need to pull a complete Sophie Hunter with the dress.
Forgot! Hail Jarthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If only for a moment.
Welcome back! We missed you! So glad you're ok and that everything is well.
I was beginning to worry that the ISTL/TNM press tour had wrung out every last ounce of TH-related fondness from you (not to mention having to actually sit through ISTL).
Our first official statement from Calvin Harris, courtesy of TMZ:
"America's sweetheart my ass!"
>>647 Are we voting on baby names? If it's a girl, may I suggest Jarthy?
So great to hear from you, and such great news! Congratulations on all accounts. :)
At least Hiddleswift did one thing right - made you take a peak here!
>>647 Now you're pregnant can I have Michael K? http://dlisted.com/2016/06/17/taylor-swift-and-tom-hiddlestons-loved-bloomed-in-front-of-this-swan-pastry/
Also is it just me or does this swan pastry look like a cock covered in whipped cream? Did Taylor, order it because happy memories?
>>648 No - if it's a girl it will be Jane Arthy Surname. No questions.
>>650 I might have to fight you for Michael K. Every article makes me love him a little more.
>>650 No. He is still mine.
I'm sorry but that swan pastry looks like something I'd come up with not something you'd get at a proper restaurant. That cream looks straight out of a can....like their love.
>>654 That's exactly what I was going to say! I understand that it's probably a fancy restaurant and that swan even may be really delicious, but honestly, it looks so unappetizing. It looks like something of my own making! Where I would take preproduced and prepackaged ordinary store cookies, try to arrange them in some semi-fancy shape and cover that entire creation with canned whipped cream. Yeah... So good.
Wanting a male perspective, I asked my husband if he had read about the THTS saga (since it has made the proper papers like the Guardian). He had. I asked him why he thought a 35 year old man with a proper career would make himself ridiculous. "Well, it's obvious, isn't it?" said my hubby. "He's in love."
Back in NYC and looking a tad tense: http://getfirstlook.com/photo/Rw9GtZ
>>657 My brother-in-law is clearly much more jaded than your hubby - he thinks the entire thing is a fabricated sham.
>>659 I think my hubby may quite like the idea of Swifty! He asked who TS was (he's old and uncool) so I tried to explain. He was all "ok objectively I see the appeal for TH" when I explained about the songs and the blonde hair and the being 25 and the millions and millions of dollars. But when I said she had a reputation for being uncool and liked cats and antiquing in New England he got really misty-eyed and said he was now jealous of TH!!!!
>>660 I'm not sure how far back you've read in the 250 or so messages we have managed to generate in the last 24 hours.
I think in addition to fancying her, he is also very much infatuated with her celebrity, and how it reflects on him - being seen as cool, the guy who brings his guitar to parties (duet time!), the guy who is DATING TAYLOR SWIFT LOOK EVERYBODY ESPECIALLY THE PEOPLE WHO CALLED ME PUBEHEAD AT SCHOOL. Or so he hoped, though it hasn't quite shaped up like that so far.
arriving back at his hotel in Soho on June 17, 2016 in New York City
>>658 I would even say pretty pissed.
>>663 So he's not wearing the underwear again? I usually don't really pay attention to the Little Hiddles, but here..
>>658 Fool, you don't need the gym. You've got a blonde exercise machine waiting back at her place. Stop wasting time before Oz!
If that's Soho (I can't tell without more background) the West Village and TS are only a few blocks away.
>>661 Anon, I get the feeling your husband may be older than you...and you keep him young. Misty eyed at antiquing!!
>>666 I think that is the Crosby Street Hotel. See the distinctive bench in photo 8 of M's pics? Now compare: https://www.oyster.com/new-york-city/hotels/crosby-street-hotel/photos/entrance-crosby-street-hotel-v575493/
>>665 or thinking about Tay Tay :))
>>668 He's about to be 45. But he's always been a young fogey! It's the classics degree, cough cough! And yes, I am younger than that.
He's riding around in her car with her security detail. http://www.justjared.com/2016/06/17/tom-hiddleston-rides-taylor-swifts-car-to-new-york-city-gym/
I don't know if he's in love with her or her mega celebrity and her insane wealth. All the things he probably wishes he had.
>>670 Thinking about doing bae once he's done his crunches and squats 😆
>>672 Maybe - though JJ's facts aren't 100% in this article. He said this was TH arriving at the gym - it's actually picking up or dropping him off at his hotel.
>>662 I'm probably not going to get the chance to go back and read all those brilliant and probably spot on comments. What I know I got from E! News and the DM so you're all more up on it than I.
I think it's a real relationship. He wouldn't fly all over the place and stay at her place in RI for a week if it were fabricated. She is beautiful, tall, talented, wealthy - can I stop! - so what's not to be attracted to? She's probably fun too and since TH can sometimes be too serious and philosophical, it's probably nice to hang out with someone a little silly and fun. I think the staged photo op was the result of that attraction. She wanted it and he agreed. He's just as capable of doing stupid things because of attraction/lust/love/nookie.
I would love to see video footage of this encounter. From Torrilla's pics, qaz is dead right. He looks throughly pissed off. He's wearing his PurseGateGate face. But sometimes the footage tells a different story.
from torrilla again
makes a quick change of clothes and steps out in New York City on June 17, 2016
>>676 I don't think anyone on here thinks it is a fabricated relationship. But there does seem to be a feeling among the troops that when he recently said "some things are sacred" he misspoke a la Hillary Clinton and in fact meant to say "some things are sacred except when my new bird of approx 1 week is soopa famous and will get me on the front cover of every newspaper in the world." I paraphrase.
>>678 Whoa! He is giving it some blue steel in these photos!!
>>675 I think he has pics of both. No smoothie = arriving at gym. Smoothie leaving gym and heading to hotel. What do you think?
>>681 Yes I think you are right, although the the impression JJ gives is that he is going from unspecified location to gym in Swift's car, ie from her home.
>>675 Either way, it's her car and her security detail. Tom is rich enough to arrange his own car and security at least. Maybe it's just me but he's giving me kept man vibes.
>>679 Yeah I don't think anyone thinks this is a fake relationship. But it's definitely one where we're seeing Tom shed his privacy privacy please privacy! mantra and making it all public. Which is exactly how Taylor dates. She dates in the public eye.
In those last pics he looks like he just realised that this is his life now - riding in Taylor's car, flying Taylor's plane, and getting papped all the way.
I am just blabbering, of course - but yeah, it so clashes with his usual image. I guess, he will have to get used to it. For love.
I wonder if that brown envelope is full of clippings from the Guardian et al?
It's probably only now that he has had a chance to sit down with his laptop and have a proper look. Imagine reading all that about yourself. It's the first time he has ever been properly on the wrong side of the press, I think. From "hardworking talented bloke that everyone says is lovely" to "hungry famewhore/prize twerp" (basically the two options in the UK press). That has really got to hurt.
I think someone said they wanted the vid, has it been posted yet?
sorry - forgot to links. http://www.tmz.com/2016/06/17/tom-hiddleston-leaving-gym-taylor-swift/
I'd want to know how the photographers know it's her car. NYC has a bazillion black SUVs like that. At this point there may be more of those in the city than yellow cabs. Does it have unicorn license plates? Does 'her latest single play when you open the door? Cat hair everywhere?
Of course he is! He likes the attention. He's got a girlfriend who has what he most wants: celebrity and lots of money. He doesn't care if she has the mentality of a 16 year old girl (and dresses like one!) or if her music sucks. This is the real Tom - a fame-whore. And now he's Taylor Swift's property because she's paying for everything. He doesn't have the money to pay luxury cars with driver and security.
>>689 Wouldn't you be? Sure he's got to put up with some cameras but look at the payoff.
>>692 I was being sarcastic, I thought he looked miserable. Lol.
>>691 I wouldn't say he likes the attention or even craves it. Instead I'm going to say that he's willing to put up with it for the rewards.
I don't know TS from Eve but a 26-year-old who's made it so far in her profession and avoided the pitfalls that swallowed up people like Britney Spears and Amanda Bynes - that's no woman with the mentality of a 16-year-old. I think TS may have it together more than we think.
>>693 I was going to say. In that video he looks as hacked off as I've seen him. No word save for a "hey man" which I think was to a fan/bystander.
>>693 I think he looks fine. Just a dude walking down the street and keeping a straight face. He greets them but doesn't engage, perfectly normal behavior. He doesn't throw any punches!
>>695 Only one person in this relationship is acting like a 16 year old (he is currently in sulky mode). If the paps had caught TS she would have been impeccably dressed, smiled graciously and said nothing.
"A beautiful dinner somewhere lovely, with boat-loads of flowers, chocolates and champagne," he says. But he also has a more casual, yet equally lovely option. "It might also be nice to wrap up warm and sit on a roof somewhere, with a cup of hot soup and your girl, watch the planes come in over London and listen to the night.”
>>696 Really? I don't think so. Hacked off is when you give them a terse 'no comment' or a 'give me some room' or 'haven't you got anything better to do.' I think he's just got his poker face on - or his about to poker-her face. But Luke might have been on the earpiece reading the papers to him while he was on the treadmill. Imagine: those articles AND having to run. Screw that! It would piss anyone off.
I was wondering about the whole "how rich is Tom" thing recently. I am guessing he is on a par with, say, a partner in a top London law firm. Their net taxable is maybe £1m a year. I am sure he earns far more for some projects (I saw a VF thing which suggested for a $170m budget the star would get $8m - I reckon less for him as he is not yet A list - but still maybe $5m for SI). However that's not every project or every year, and he has a lot of overheads that a partner at a big firm wouldn't have to pay for - 15% to the agent, some for the publicist, the PA, the stylist, pension contributions etc. He is massively well off by the standards of the world at large but no way would he be in the private jet, multiple residences class like Swifty is.
>>699 Is that meant to them? He does seem to have a blue jacket on!
>>700 I just think he normally gives the paps a smile: http://www.celebitchy.com/403332/tom_hiddleston_wears_cowboy_boots_carries_a_guitar_at_airports_now/
Poker face I have only previously seen in the taxi with EO.
>>703 He even had a conversation with a pap a couple weeks ago in London. He avoided answering Bond questions but he was friendly and talked about filming Thor 3 in Australia.
>>701 That jet was her - no doubt. He didn't reach into the pockets for that. But he can manage a driver and SUV in NYC. If he is staying at a hotel, the concierge may even have deals with companies that provide the service at a reduced rate.
>>705 I have no doubt of that. And he's probably rich enough to travel first class everywhere even when the studio isn't paying, which takes a tidy chunk of cash. It's about £10k to travel to LA first class.
The fans who shot that video of Tom in her RI house the morning after the famous photos came out said that her security men all wear green shirts. The man who opens the SUV door to Tom is wearing a green shirt.
And I don't think he's staying in a hotel. He was probably there for a meeting with someone.
>>707 No, he's staying there. He leaves in his gym clothes, returns in his gym clothes, then leaves again in his regular clothes. Never carrying any bags, so the clothes must have been in the hotel.
We don't know these people. Maybe Tom likes his space? Remember after the EO pap walk she went back to her hotel and he went home?
>>704 But that was pre-TS. Nothing's going to be the same now. I think Bond and Thor are subjects he'd engage about but not TayTay.
>>709 Well I wouldn't expect him to talk about TS. He didn't talk about Bond either, but he gave the guy a smile and a "how are you doing" before saying he wouldn't answer. The paps outside the Ivy got a smile and a wave. This eyes straight ahead deadpan face we saw today is new - I guess when you're Mr. Swift that's how you do it.
>>685 judging by that face it's not going to last very long.
This is Tom all over. He gives it out (takes Jarthy to Wimbledon, PurseGateGate) he feeds the beast, and then he wishes he hasn't.
>>687 Where are our MANNERS? Hiddleswift, you will not destroy our welcoming board!!
Welcome, ??! Thank you for posting the video.
>>712 Oh wow, thanks for the greeting! Friendly indeed. Will do with the questions should they arise. Thanks again :)
So how do we think this is going to play out? Is it gonna be forever? Or is it gonna go down in flames? After all this bad press, will Tom be able to shake it off? When they break up, will they never ever get back together?
>>714 It's looking like one of those really intense love affairs where you declare your love within a week, have mind blowing constant sex, spend every second together and then you're suddenly horrified and freak out when they move their toothbrush in.
Based on absolutely no evidence only conjecture I do wonder if they can establish a true and lasting friendship beyond the honeymoon phase. It would be a first for Swifty and TH's track record ain't great either.
>>715 I tried to incorporate as many Taylor Swift lyrics as I could into my stupid pointless post at >>714. Then I realized I am really only familiar with a few of her songs and it wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be. But I posted it anyway. Ever have one of those days? I'm having one of those days.
>>716 Even if you had successfully incorporated all of her lyrics I wouldn't have recognised them! I tune out or leave the room when i hear her songs. Sorry for the ernest response to a joke, ha. I'm sure TS fans will find it funny
I'm only posting for you because like Mr.Swift representatives "I'm afraid I don't comment on the personal life of our child...client" With major stress on afraid as in "afraid of what I might say". Since I saw the news on the tv (yeah Mr Swift you made it to national news in my country) after months of not reading anything about him, I've been torn between laughter and disappointment.
There's speculation on CB about them recording a duet. Well, Tom's played Hank. I guess this will give him the opportunity to play Audrey too!
>>719 That comparison is probably more realistic vocally. OH SNAP!
I kid, he's not quite as bad as Audrey. ;)
Hey, anybody remember an interview a couple of months ago when Tom was asked about doing more Shakespeare and he said he hoped to have an announcement very soon? What happened to that?
>>721 There hasn't been anything more said about it, as far as I know.
Re TMZ video .. the gentleman doth protest too much. What was Tom expecting?
(and poor JA and Lizzie .. all those months and nary an acknowledgement in public other than "nothing to write home about" .. 14 or so days (if you follow the official script) and "girlfriend" ... it is very entertaining though..
>>718 Thank you, Coach! We're deliriously happy to the stage where we're going to get annoying soon. And I have fabulous hormone hair!
Don't be too disappointed with the man. He's just a man! Even Anon's husband seemed willing to pap stroll with TS for the promise of some antiquing!
>>724 Congrats Anon.! Are you getting the usual morning sickness or have you started craving weird foods yet? I couldn't handle any kind of animal proteins the whole time. Eggs, chicken, beef, just the smell made me throw up. And as soon as I have birth, I wanted a cheeseburger lol
gave* not have eyeroll thanks autocorrect.
>>725 Thanks. 3ish months in and no cravings, no morning sickness - just great hair! I think I didn't realize at first because everything was situation normal - not sick, tired, etc. I thought Auntie Flow hadn't visited because of the stress of the wedding and my work trip.
This was an amusing summary to help the TS fans get familiar with her new beau: http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/102187891.html
Be sure to click on the 2 links for the headers at the top of the post. The comments are great and run the gamit.
"Wait, what’s that? We have a video of them dancing at the MetGala last month?!?!?
Anyone know where they are now? It appears that now they have left the pap-infested Rhode Island and are back to the secluded safety of NYC they have completely disappeared, notwithstanding that every paparazzo in the world is now looking for them. Funny that.
>>731 It's anyone's guess where they are now but the odd thing about TH's little pap stroll to the gym and then to his mystery meeting in NY was that he popped into his old hotel to change clothes.
Must've moved his toothbrush in to Tay Tay's too soon.
Here's a fun little comment from the ONTD article:
>>731 Taylor has been MIA since the private jet pics. When last seen Tom was being papped coming and going from his hotel, but that was the day before yesterday. I'm thinking there's no way we're going to be able to find any sightings on Twitter or Instagram anymore, unless someone wants to volunteer to spend their entire day combing through Swiddletomlorston tweets looking for something relevant.
>>732 No I am just being facetious (it's the same Anon, from my holiday wifi hence different ID). It's pretty obvious that when they don't want to be caught, they aren't.
The theoanons blog pointed out that the beach is several miles from TS's house. So it isn't a case of the pap hanging around her place hoping to spot her in the immediate vicinity. The pap was somehow in the right place at the right time, in an area where paps don't usually hang out. Bit of a coincidence - like the pics I posted earlier of Cumberbatch and his wife making out having stopped at exactly the petrol station that the pap happened to be at, with all his kit.
>>733 eeeew! Still, he was 16 I suppose. My now quite dim recollection of my teenage years is that kissing a 16 year old boy is like congress with an enthusiastic but inept octopus.
>>730 and now a new set of folks via ONTD and tumblr are finding out about all of the embarrassing Hiddleston nooks and crannies, the Banana In The Vag incident is the first one up, followed closely by MySpace posting with Mummy.
>>727 Heartfelt congratulations, Anon. Mine snuck up on me too. I nearly fainted when I found out.
>>736 Oh good lord, not that quote again. It's fake. Every time Tom is seen with a new woman that starts circulating again, usually just on tumblr and Twitter. I think this is the first time it's made it into an actual publication.
>>739 Is that one about sitting in the roof while the planes go over also fake? I never did find the receipts for that one. There are a whole load of other obviously fake ones about lurve which the TS dans on tumblr are now reblogging crazily. As evidenced by the BananaVag anecdote, the real Tom may be at times considerably more coarse!
>>738 I haven't yet become so cynical that I think he would participate in a wholly manufactured relationship. Insofar as one can tell anything from the Met Gala video he looked keen. And she's pretty, successful and 9 years his junior. That would probably be enough for most men for a genuine thing (not sure if this yet qualifies for the definition "relationship").
>>740 I seen to remember the quote about the rooftop being real, but old. The other fake one is the one about "this generation has lost the true meaning of romance" blah blah blah. I can't remember if that's part of the same gifset as the quote the Guardian used. It might be.
>>742 Should be seem not seen. I have to correct myself.
"The fact that it all started with a dance. I mean, who on earth gets together at a ball in this day and age? It’s like something out of Cinderella, or Dirty Dancing, without the abortion or the watermelon."
Did anyone post this? The third Guardian article in as many days. It's marginally kinder - though the caricature makes them both look 40! https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/jun/19/tom-hiddlestone-taylor-swift-match-made-in-heaven-pr-stunt
They are taking the pictures with his phone.
silver with black case
>>749 Ah thanks, when I looked at the beach photos I missed the case.
>>749 there is a pic also of him putting a gold iPhone 6 into his back pocket. It looks like it has some flowery stickers on the back or some such. I am guessing that one is hers.
There are plenty of pics of him taking iPhone pics on his own account (I think on the set of TNM of the Matterhorn) so I am not surprised he has taken a pic of his new GF.
>>747 I find this rumour to be unpersuasive because surely he would have bitten their hand off! Considering the role?!!
>>757 LOL!!! Wow. Where do these things even come from? Maybe the commenter accidentally googled Tom Hiddlestone or Tim Hoddleston.
Sure everybody's seen this but over on theoanons is a series of posts from anons saying that until very recently TH was dating a brunette phd student. Apparently this was an "open secret" in London. Now either I move in the wrong circles....or it wasn't an open secret at all. It is amazing how these rumours surface within days of him being seen with someone new.
>>760 I did see that, and I think at least a few of those messages were sent by the same person (as someone else suggested). The question is whether the submitter is delusional or just a troll. And you're right, whenever he's linked to anyone in the press or seen with anyone who might be a romantic partner, all these anonymous people crawl out of the tumblr shadows to say they've seen him with a "curvy brunette." It happens every time.
Tumblr post suggesting that 007 Mag is a reliable source: http://insanely-smart.tumblr.com/post/146163317138/007-magazine-says-craig-out-hiddleston-has-offer
This is sort of related to Tom and terribly sad -
Anton's and Tom's characters had some of the funniest interactions in OLLA. I was also a fan of his from the Star Trek reboot movies - the next one comes out in July. He was charming and funny, seemed genuine.
Why is he fisting? Is this a gay mag?
>>772 I haven't laughed this hard since I first saw the beach photos.
This new shameless direction he is taking for self promotion is verging on Kardashian. Shame he didn't pour champagne onto his crotch.
Did the conversation go like this:
"OK Tom, now take your your suit off and lie on the bed."
Anyhow, I am torn between looking through my fingers and suffering from secondhand embarrassment.
He also looks embarrassed in the underwear shots. Who thought this was a good idea? I know we all enjoyed looking at the HR photo of him on the sun lounger but somehow that felt different, I suppose because it was in Ballard's book and also because it was an expression of the character. Whereas this is an expression of Tom, and what Tom is saying to us is "hello, I'll just lie here in my pants with my legs apart so you can all get a good look at my package. Especially you! Barbara Broccoli."
>>778 I did find this interesting (lawyer!) but I wonder what difference it makes in practice. You can sue in RI if there has been an unreasonable intrusion into your privacy. If the pics had been taken of TS on her private property it might suggest she consented because apparently this law means paps are nervous about taking photos of people in their homes.
Omg this is so not sexy...it looks like those photo gallery shots you see on an average budget porno actor's site. Omg omg omg so no sexy! He could've just stopped at lounging in the suit half done or something. That underwear doesn't even look sexy. And look they've used Taylor's name too instead of just Tom's. He's wearing his own suit, right? Is that his own underwear too? How slapdash was this photoshoot? Fameho GOLD! Tom you are so transparent.
The captcha says "butch" - now does it like the photos or is it being sarcastic with me?
Anyhow I read the pathetic journalistic fart passing for an "article" accompanying these pics in W magazine. I see that it has the immortal headline "Aeverything you need to know about TH, Taylor Swift's boyfriend." So that's another piece of publicity that hasn't quite gone as planned.
2,93 mil. followers on twitter.
220.000 new followers in 5 days. Not so bad :))
>>780 And some don't even bother to use his name beside hers, e.g.
What the hell is he thinking...
Torrilla has provided the answer! She is a clever girl. She just posted pics of Tom leaving the Standard Hotel in NYC on 18 April 16 wearing exactly the same outfit (well, we can't see the pants) including the white shirt, which he doesn't wear so frequently. The photo credits mention Chateau Marmont but also the Standard. Looks like the pics may well have been taken then - which would make sense as magazines don't usually take pics and release them a few days later. They wait till the print issue is imminent (as Esquire did with the pool pics). W has probably been sitting on these for a while and after last week's shenanigans it saw its moment.
DM article, linked for the comments. An awful lot of "he looks desperate, eew" remarks. My favourite, however was:
Comment: Why does he always looks so worried?
Going back and forth between having a hearty laugh at Tom's expense and shaking my head at his poor life choices.
I'm still laughing at the power fist.
The thinking man pose has annoyed me beyond belief for so long but this is taking it to another level.
There is nothing accidental about this shoot. Having worked on plenty like it I can assure you both TH and his PR would have overseen the design and watched every shot in the monitor like a hawk. Nothing gets past them without their approval. If they don't like the shoot it's buried or reshot. I'm pretty sure the text and release date are their call too from conversations I've overheard.
>>788 Anon. also HATES the thinking man pose. I am agog for her reaction to thinking man when the thought is "where did I put my trousers?"
I don't disagree with you at all that TH and his people bought into this whole concept. It can't be like he goes into the room for a portrait shot and some sleazy guy says "now we drop all zee clozes onto zee bed". Sadly I think he thought this was a good idea. Though his expression suggests he changed his mind once his trousers were off!
Dlisted has a post already :)
Warning - very, very NSFW!!
But this is what we all know the W magazine shoot really is: http://catwinchester.tumblr.com/post/146207858821/i-cannot-be-trusted-to-use-photoshop-responsibly
"There’s nothing better than a topless dude photo shoot, but these pictures are where awkward and uncomfortable meet. In some of the pictures, Tom looks like he’s standing in the middle of an examining room in his doctor’s office and he’s extra nervous because he’s about to get his prostate checked and the Taco Bell he had for lunch has digested and is about to make a run for the border. In other pictures, he looks like he’s doing the “before” pose for an ad for a new erectile dysfunction med. And he also looks like somebody’s hot dad who is reluctantly posing for pictures for his new escort ad after deciding that he’s going to try hooking to get his family out of debt."
I feel like if the W pics had come out on their own, we wouldn't be laughing. We'd probably enjoy it and maybe have some gripes about the paper thin boxers that remind me of the modesty thongs they give you when you get a Brazilian. But other than that, it wouldn't be this level of ridicule. Combined with the Taylor Swift obvious beach pap shots, these pics just add to his thirst game.
I wonder if papa Hiddleston is still proud of his son's career.
What about his mother and sisters? Do you think they are worried about what's happening to him or thrilled about the prospect of living a luxurious life financed by Taylor Swift?
New photo from Met. Where's that body language expert?
>>795 I'll buy it. That does seem too cozy for "we just met last night".
Lol if they thought their couple would be met with oohhhs and aaahhhs, this ridicule combined with Kanye breathing down Taylor's neck might throw ice water on this romance.
>>797 Yes, and to top it off there's photos of him leaving said nightclub escorted by her security with TS right behind him whereby he apparently jumped into her car. I always suspected the staged after party photos with Haine were a deliberate ruse to throw people off the scent. that was the night after the met when he had flown home
I don't normally follow celebrities like, at all. But is it normal to have this much drama doled out so sparingly? It's like crumbs every day or every other day to keep the drama raft afloat.
>>795 A real cheating scandal... OR... fashions tin foil swan hat Tom already had the "boyfriend" gig lined up and they were laying the groundwork. The dancing videos taken on prohibited cell phones were planned ahead of time.
>>800 Oh, don't hold back pretty tinfoil hat!
Surely someone can up with an even more elaborate hat- every aspect of this rollout reeks of scandal.
>>795 Or, they met the night before and at the Met Gala, and got drunk together and were attracted and had a great time. Has no-one else on here had a really great evening with someone that turned into a first date?
I would buy that they got together the night of the Met Gala and that there is a cheating story in that sense. Also that the Sun might have got hold of it and that this prompted the photoshoot. But when did he have time before then to meet her? He was filming and then on publicity tour of doom with other love interest Mark Abrahams/his guitar!
>>800 I don't believe there was a contract before the met ball but this story afterwards shows they spent a lot of time together that ngith.
>>804 He did have time off in NYC before the Wintour dinner and the Met Gala. But the Wintour dinner seems to be the first time he met TS. There is a video of her leaving saying "nice to meet you".
A Gossip Cop article but one which notably fails to feature the one line that ever makes them worth reading ("x's representatives confirmed that the story is false"): http://www.gossipcop.com/taylor-swift-fake-relationship-tom-hiddleston/
>>805 Idris was there too. She could've been saying nice to meet you to him more than Tom. If the two had been staying in touch and getting to know each other digitally, then they could have figured out how to handle it all. Also the fact that some of these MET pics of her and him are coming out now that tell a different story than drunk awkward flailing means her team had made sure it all stayed hidden until Calvin was out of the picture.
Tom gets drunk at the Met Gala (we already know this happened). Taylor hits on him and they dance. She invites him to come back to her place when it's all over. He's thrilled at the prospect of hooking up with the "cool girl" and takes her up on it, even though she's still in a relationship with Calvin Harris. Someone gets photos of them leaving together, or him going into her apartment, or him leaving the next morning in his tux. They send the photos to the Sun. The Sun says hey Tom and Taylor, we've got some interesting photos we'd like to publish... unless you provide us with an alternative. So Tom and Taylor stage the RI beach shoot, pretend to be all lovey-dovey, and give the Sun a story to run in place of a cheating scandal that will still guarantee just as many sales and website hits. They cover up their illicit dalliance and will "part ways as friends" over the summer via a tabloid announcement from a "source" aka their PR. The end.
>>808 flappy inflatable tube man tinfoil hat!
If it turns out to be true I'm submitting this piece to all the magazines so they can herald you as the second psychic fan (unfortunately minus the smut).
>>808 anonsy, that is very possible and at the very least explains why he is staying at a hotel in NY after spending so many days at her house in RI or why all of a sudden no pap in NY can't see to find them. Too bad it was all for nothing, for both of them. From what I read these past days, Swift went on holiday with Calvin Harris after the Met, so the cheating aspect is even worse. As for TH, we all know what is happening to him.
>>806 GossiCop is the same one that posted this a month back, it seems to me they are TH's fangirls. And you called them out on it at the time Anon! Good job http://www.gossipcop.com/taylor-swift-dumping-calvin-harris-tom-hiddleston-breakup-split/
>>808 I would totally don a tinfoil hat in the shape of TS's plane for that rumour. There's no need to hypothesise they met weeks before the Met Gala. It would be embarrassing enough for her to be caught spending a night with TH having just met him, when she was still supposedly with someone else. Also makes sense of the otherwise warp speed progression to public acknowledgement if they hooked up on May 2 and have been engaging in Tom's fabled sexting ever since.
Did some lurking on LSA and stumbled across this gem talking about TH:
"My friend fucked him once or twice and I have met him at this artsy members club in London, he was very friendly and touchy feely. He also looks directly into your eyes when talking...like D.I.R.E.C.T.L.Y. It's creepy because I don't like looking people in the eyes. I feel like he is trying to figure you out or expose you. I can't put it into words but yeah. He looks right at your eyeballs. Didn't like that. He kept touching my shoulder which I hated because 'bitch I don't know you.' He didn't take anything further. It was just a nice convo about random things. He's really smart btw, which is why I am surprised at him for getting with Taylor. It must be PR, I can see him fucking someone like her but not dating. She doesn't seem to smart or deep and he isn't shallow or didn't come across that way on the night I met him This was a few months ago... I will ask my friend for the details on the dick report and make a thread. Yes, she's black because I know one of y'all will ask lol."
Recent events have made me reminisce about my all time favorite male centrefolds: Burt Reynolds and The Hoff.
>>813 Anonon I hate to be a spoiler but that LSA comment sounds suspiciously similar to past 'stories' I've seen posted in thebycycle, on ONTD, and datalounge. Take it with a grain of salt.
Popped over to CB and in among 400 "please put it away, my ladyparts dried up" comments are a few stans saying he was totes done over by evil W mag. Hilariously they say this because the TH shoot was meant to be part of a much larger feature of 12 TV actors also posing in their pants as if awaiting the proctologist. Apparently if the photos had been confined to that context this would all have been just fine.
>>815 I'm taking it with a grain of salt on salted cod standing in a salt mine. Maybe she mistook being eye fucked for fucking. Easily done
Another "exclusive" courtesy of the ubiquitous and very helpful "unnamed source"... is it three weeks already?
>>817 The "Tom slept with a WOC" is a regular-ish thing that I've seen a few times in different places. There is a corner of the fandom which is obsessed with proving that he is attracted to WOC. I guess it's analogous to the corner of the fandom that can't cope with him being attracted to petite blondes and palms he was seen with a busty brunette - in other words, the fandom always wants him to be with someone who most resembles whoever is writing at the time.
palms = claims in autocorrect land!
>>816 The photos aren't great but as I mentioned before, he chose to do this, nobody forced him.
Perhaps there would have been less ridicule in numbers. It does appear they've released this early to capitalise on his newfound infamy but I also can't see that happening without his managements approval.
>>821 well.. 2.5 weeks since Swifty "officially" broke up with her ex soo yeah.. fast and the furious or grade school fast. Can't tell anymore.
But seriously .. does the guy REALLY feel the need to do this crap to get ahead? Have any of his peers (looking at YOU Domhnall Gleeson) had to pimp themselves out to this extent?
>>821 Yes I agree with all of this! And even if he had no editorial control over the release date or the copy - well, he still chose to pose for those pics and hand all that control over to W. If you don't want W to sit on the pics and release them at an embarrassing time of its own choosing - don't pose for pics in your pants in the first place.
>>825 "They text all the time! That's how she knows he's the one! Omg!"
Remember I speculated upthread that he was probably uncool and geeky at school and didn't get the girls, hence he is so needy for attention and validation now? Well someone else has speculated the same and attributed it to an unnamed source (maybe me!).
>>827 That article says his parents were in teaching but that's wrong, isn't it?
I can believe the bit about the purple pants and tie-dye shirt - he's fashion challenged, no doubt, so that wouldn't surprise me. I can't imagine him trying to grow his hair long. Wouldn't it just sort of grow... out? Like a big floofy blond halo. Although just because he tried doesn't mean it worked.
Such cringe that he's dad dancing at a Selena Gomez concert. The things you do for love..
>>829 Are you f&#king kidding me.
Bye. It's been fun, everyone. I'm out.
>>832 Bye anonsy, I think we have all just reached the point of no return whereby it's just too embarrassing to admit we ever had this crush. I'm so grateful for the anonymity and it has been so much fun chatting x
>>832 You just went out slaying!
Selena stopped the show because TH and Calvin were brawling over Tay Tay.
Oh god this is so embarrassing. I can't believe Tom got involved in this juvenile crap. Taylor Swift must have loved it though. She's never had guys fight over her. I hope some videos come out of this brawl. I'm here to watch this insanity go down in a massive glorious ball of flames.
Drip drip drabble, there's something every day or every other day to keep both their names out there.
So wait was there a brawl or not? Is that girl making stuff up? Were Calvin and Kanye even there? I must know if this high school drama happened or not.
I can't find anything about a brawl between Tom and Calvin. Tsk and here I got so excited that we were finally going to get juicy drama.
>>838 I really doubt Calvin was there (last reported to be in Vegas for the weekend) but I so desperately want it to be true.
This whole relationship rollout has been a barrel of uncomfortable but hearty laughs. It's the only reason I'm still here.
>>840 Me too! But ywah I doubt he'd make the effort to chase after Taylor. He finally managed to get out lol
Taylor and her team are definitely on top of it - http://m.eonline.com/news/774704/taylor-swift-and-tom-hiddleston-dance-the-night-away-at-selena-gomez-s-nashville-concert?cmpid=rss-000000-rssfeed-365-topstories&utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=rss_topstories
Oh God, I' glad I started my rehab from this addiction 4 months ago, this is just...yuck!
>>827 He should have watched more American highschool films, the geek never becomes cool by dating highschool prom queen, that just makes him look more like a pathetic loser.
>>841 right, he went with her to Nashville, but he drew the line at the zoo, because that would look too much like he is babysitting.
There are plenty of vids at this (new for me) THEO tumblr blog (and boy the man is so stiff when he dances), has TH picked up smoking again? From this photo and a video of them walking away he looks like he is smoking.
>>844 It does look like he's smoking.
Most of the vids show a lot of stiffness. TS keeps dragging him towards the barrier where he's visible, he barely dances, looks nervous and withdraws into the shadows.
>>830 Anonsy, it's been such fun knowing you. I do hope you change your mind and stay for the giggles.
Sadly I think the brawling was a joke. Also wouldn't Calvin absolutely knock Tom for 6 if they were fighting?
>>844 Would they be allowed to smoke indoors at a venue? I don't know anything about the law on this in Nashville (I think it wouldn't be allowed in New York).
Ok I am feeling out of my depth here. I had to google Selena Gomez (no surprise - I bought a Ray Charles CD yesterday, folks, that's how old I am). But who are the nearly bloke and the girl in the blue dress with the curly hair who seem to have been videoing themselves dancing with TS and TH in the background?
>>845 he doesn't seem to be losing his shit, more like TH expressing a thought with more words than necessary.
>>830 big hugs to you anonsy, it's like you wasted all your time respecting someone that wasn't worth it, isn't it. And it doesn't help thinking that a few months from now it'll be all over. (let's face it, Swift isn't going to stay with a man that already looks so much older than his years when she has much younger options)
Just took a peek at CB, are they too stunned for words? Not a single mention of this, yesterday the apologists posse was out en mass after pretending to be cool with the mocking for a few days.
I have to admit I feel sorry for Luke, I bet he wishes his client were more like Redmayne. And Wimbledon is just around the corner.
>>849 I looked it up! Smoking is prohibited in all enclosed public spaces in Tennessee and has been since about 2008. There are a few exceptions like establishments which bar under 21s from entry anywhere on the premises (seems unlikely at a Selena Gomez concert), or nursing homes (insert appropriate joke here!).
I watched the videos here and on theoanons (who copied anonsy's links straight up - see, I told you a few weeks ago we had a new and well-known tumblr lurker!!)
1) the snapchats are labelled "TS and her new BF" !!!
>>853 Then they were breaking the law, because he truly looks like he is smoking and in that same photo they are drinking, wouldn't alcohol also be banned?
>>854 Their rigidity just goes along with the lack of lust and passion in those beach photos, no french kissing, no groping. Maybe they only dry-hump.
I also feel sorry for that shirt, apparently the perks of being Swift's boytoy don't extend to new clothes
>>849 That video of them leaving clearly shows him lifting his right hand to his lips so either he keeps blowing kisses or smoke
>>850 I know that jaw jut, my bf does it too when he's really mad. Or emphatically proving a point. Whatever TH said wiped the smile off her face and made her nod a lot thats for sure.
>>854 I noticed the THEOanons post with anonsys links but it was a submission that she just posted. You can tell from the dark writing what is her comments on the past. She didn't get the links from here but someone did. I think a few people go between this board and her blog because I sometimes see things posted there then posted a few minutes later here. Sometimes I'm trying to bring them over to share but someone beats me to it LOL.
>>858 "Tell you friend to stop filming me! I'm a serious actor you know! I was Coriolanus!" lol What could get you angry at a Selena Gomez concert? Aside from the concert itself.
Trust me, they will be married in a few months. He's enjoying her fame and money. Especially the money.
>>860 "I thought you said it was a Celine Dion concert!"
>>858 I think he has a cup in his hand. She has one two. If it;s not the cup hand he brings to his mouth to drink then he is just wiping or touching his mouth because he then holds her hand so there's not going to be a cigarette in that one.
>>860 I don't think he's angry either. They left holding hands and went to a bar together later so I don't feel they had a fight.
Just catching up on this whole debacle from a sunlounger in Greece. His antics are excruciatingly embarrassing. I'm gobsmacked.
>>863 I forgot about alcohol!
He's meeting the Fockers now so it's inevitable she will meet the Stoners before Oz. As if he could resist finally getting front row tickets to the tennis. He must be stuggling to contain Little Hiddles in public having that A- lister (by association) access all areas pass and billing. Dream. Come. True.
>>863 It's very hard to tell, but I think he starts off with a cup in his left hand. He is doing something with his right hand (?holding a cigarette). He then switches the cup to his right hand so he can hold TS's hand with his left hand.
>>867 with those shovels he has for hands it would be possible to hold both. Maybe it was one of those vapor cigarettes.
>>865 What a beautiful place to be in this time of need :) A disaster of his own making, who would have thought!
He should update his twitter bio. Instead of actor, he should now write "toyboy" or "whore".
I am on holiday too, as it happens very close to where TH's mother lives. Believe me, I have my eyes peeled!
But now a confession. When I was 24 I dated a man who was 10 years older than me. I am now cringeing inwardly at what our mutual friends might have said of that relationship behind our backs. But from inside it didn't feel so weird. We worked at the same place and in the same profession (he was more senior). I only really felt the age gap when we talked about music because at the time I knew nada about anything predating 1985. He felt it too because I recall him turning pale when he was playing "Jumping Jack FLash" and I asked who it was. But overall it was great - he had a fantastic wine cellar, he drove an e-type Jag and (since I'm deep into TMI already) the sex was far and away the best I had had up till then. And I think he enjoyed having a much younger girlfriend - the pleasure of corrupting me by showing me a range of life's experiences, hehehehe.
>>871 ooh a lovely part of the world. Have fun :-)
I totally get the benefits / attraction for both of them in this scenario. I just can't get my head around him destroying or distorting the good vibe and kudos that had built up during the recent press tour and positive reception of TNM.
>>871 But I get that, I think all women have that in their lives at some point or another, when you are a teenager you tend to prefer Uni boys, when you are at Uni you like guys who work.
The thing here is that Swift is a PR machine and her love life is part of her machine. It seems to me, from what I read about her, that she doesn't actually loves men the way you are supposed to love the opposite sex (no, I'm not suggesting she is gay), I don't see her interest for them, the wish to spend time in their universe to understand them, it's all centred on her and her world. She likes them the way you like a new accessory that fits well into your new outfit, as a means to an end, and when it's time to renovate she finds another. Which is fair because if I can see this by only reading about her history, it means it's evident.
And to atone for being serious and lengthy about something that only deserves hilarity, funny things that I read in my catching up:
1) TH mentioning Branagh saying that TH's thing is that he can't turn off his brain - that's because terrible things happen when he does, as we can all see.
>>871 I did the 10yr age gap too. Conversation and sex out of this world, it lasted 3 mostly great years till the age gap became overwhelming and the reality of living with a much older man with a Peter Pan complex set in. He didn't really evolve at the same pace, if at all.
>>875 They have both admitted that they rapidly fall into relationships; they're fast and furious. Then the moment it becomes too emotionally demanding they run for the hills. Give it time.
Radio for young people I suppose, BURN!
>>878 There's an early interview or two where he mentions he rushes too fast into relationships and I saw one the other day where TS said the same. Can't be bothered chasing receipts sorry, maybe someone else can?
>>876 where will he finds the time to nurture his art if he spends all the time at her events? Oh! I get it! He doesn't have anything else after Thor3! ;)
You know, I don't find attractive any of her past bfs, so I can't say I envy her at all (not even her present at this point). But that's just irrelevant me.
>>880 No it's ok, I think I remembered something similar he said in 2012, as NY's resolution he said he wanted to be more balanced because he had a tendency to go full throttle about things (it was in general though, not specifically about relationship)
"The name's Bond, James Bond.... and here I am at a Selena Gomez concert"
The Fail is delivering in the comments section
I've just read this at the new CB post
"Taylor owns a huge crash pad in Nashville too (if memory serves, it’s an apartment decorated with an Alice in Wonderland theme)"
LOL, I can just imagine him wanting to get laid in that, this story just keep on giving.
>>876 Yes, all of this.
He has all the "dating a cute 26 year old blonde" feels that most 35-yo men would have, plus the huge boost to what increasingly seems like a fragile ego of having TS dump Calvin for him.
"Is this a relationship, or a hostage situation?"
Daddy is dancing for his sugar mama
>>886 so this is greed for wealth? Someone who so proudly talk about his humble roots and whined about being asked about his posh upbringing? Then the man was always a phony.
The gems from the E! article linked to earlier:
Taylor was hesitant to get involved so quickly after Adam but she she felt that Adam was not giving her what she wanted for some time so she was ready to move on towards the tail end of their relationship anyway.”
>>890 yeah he had doubts about it after he spent the Met Gala dancing with her while she was still in a relationship. I'm starting to think he is the one on the rebound.
>>889 That's a little harsher than I intended. I think many people, not just unduly materialistic ones, might enjoy a taste of how the other half live. I don't think that makes him or anyone else greedy for wealth. I don't think he went into the romance for that.
>>892 hmm, I don't know Anon, he was the one who acted resented at when he was asked if he had a private chef, someone who might want a piece of that world would have said something like "That would be nice". Besides he always ran in exclusive circles, Wimbledon, the polo games, horses races, fancy hotels.
>>893 I always assumed he got those because of his fame. The organisers inviting him and a load of other stars to events, or the studio paying for his hotels.
Out of curiosity, has any of Swift's past bf ever be met by so much negative press? Somehow I doubt it. Plus, someone like Calvin Harris might have profited by their relationship because he is in charge of his work, but TH isn't, he still has to go through the process as usual.
Damage control seems to have started .. http://www.people.com/article/taylor-swift-tom-hiddleston-dating-more-in-common
"Tom's a very smart, attractive guy with a fun personality," a pal of the Night Manager actor tells PEOPLE. And although "dating the most famous singer in the world feels slightly out of character" for the charismatic Brit, the pair have may more in common than meets the eye. "
>>896 indeed it has, after all he's paying big money for his PR in the US.
I love how they are admitting it's out of character (read: it contradicts everything he ever said) but they have plenty in common (read: we couldn't find a better explanation for our client behaviour). I'm surprised they didn't make a list of all the amazing things they have in common.
lol, now I want English bookies on this!
http://theoanons.tumblr.com/post/146308010756 No cigarette that I can see.
your armpits are why you don't go to a concert with a blue shirt TH

A couple of tidbits in here:
1) Rock and stroll photos taken by the same agency TS has used before.
Michael K is on a roll: "What’s next? The paparazzi are going to “catch” Tom and Taylor nuzzling against each other’s faces while wearing matching “T Heart T” t-shirts as they push her cats in a stroller during a walk with her squad? Will the producers of the Bond movies give Tom the role already so this madness can end? Actually, can they wait a few weeks before doing that, because I really want to see pictures of Tom wearing a “T Heart T” t-shirt while pushing Taylor’s cats in a stroller."
>>902 Great minds, ha ha! Where is Anon.? I am beginning to worry that she will reappear after several days MIA, making out on a rock in California with Michael K, with "f* you Kareha bishes" written in pebbles on the sand beside them.
>>901 He really does look like dad here - "Come on kids, mom is waiting in the SUV."
And pretty uncomfortable at being papped, although there is one really cute shot where he is smiling at her.
And PS she is like Amal Clooney - always looking for the camera.
This is utterly heartless, but I love it. Not the usual E! arselicking:
This is such a glorious time to be Hiddleston fan. I really feel like this is history in the making. I am loving every minute of this now. Give us more ToTay!!! I hope the next tabloid piece that comes out is about Taylor buying a house in Australia so she can be near Tom. I hope she takes her homebaked cookies to the set of Thor and plays with Chris and Elsa's kids with Tom by her side and it gets papped like mad! And of course the social media antics. Instagram selfies of her and Tom and her and Tom tweeting each other back and forth with songs of the day and kisses and lovey dovey messages.
>>909 I am hanging out for Michael K's vision of them pushing her cats in a pushchair. Celebitchy did a hilarious article today about the cats being introduced to their new dad but still missing Calvin: "it's always hardest on the cats."
And Calvin and Taylor are following each other back on Instagram again. This has taken an interesting turn. Could be nothing but in Taylor's world these little details mean EVERYTHING.
My husband has now seen the "anxious standing in my pants" photos.
His comment: "He looks like a sad little boy who has been debagged by the mean boys at school"
Horse riding. Of course, she would! So excited for the pics! She's totally renacting her Romeo & Juliet song with him. So cliche! They are so cliche I love it!
>>913 Fingers crossed for a Magazine spread:
"The message has been delivered by the people of this A+ list singer. You make the A+ lister a victim in this breakup and you play by the rules set or you won’t ever get an interview with her again. The rules include several key words and phrases that must be used when discussing the singer and her relationship."
>>914 that would be beautiful. This slaps you in the face ToTay romance is making up for all the guessing games and non denial denials during the JArthy and THEO era. I love that we get live updates on the couple and previews of what to expect in the program tomorrow.
>>916 I bet they Googled 'relationship goals', 'how to prove you undying love within two weeks' and 'the 5 best age inappropriate dates for beginners'
The best thing about this bitchfest from Jan Moir (the DM's resident Rottweiler crossed with a cow) is the unintentionally hilarious caption under the pic of Calvin Harris modelling Armani: "Tom Hiddleston modelling for Emporio Armani". After all this the DM's caption writer still cannot tell the difference between one of TS's boyfriends in his pants and another!
>>917 They are really fast tracking this relationship. Every date is getting papped. Maybe Tom really wants to settle down after all those questions he got about being single and how his friends are all married. Will we get a summer wedding or a fall one? She's going to make sure her proposal is also papped.
>>918 HAHAHA! It even says that they're much different than the ones he wore for the W shoot LOL!
>>906 and since it's pretty much everyone's first comment it can't even be said that we are mean, because clearly that's really what it looks like!
The 32nd TCA Awards ceremony will be held August 6th at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles with Jane the Virgin’s Jaime Camil is set to host..
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN MOVIES, MINISERIES AND SPECIALS
How much do you think it will last guys? I don't think it will end as soon as he leave for Thor3 (whenever that may be), they need to sell the idea this is a true love story now.
I also think that PR wise TH hasn't profited much, not just because media, facetious and serious, on both sides of the pond panned him, not just because his own fans panned him, but because at the end of this week the initial burst will be over, if the purpose was to acquire new people interested in his work it was a major fail. TayTay has what? 80mil followers on twitter? 1% of that is 800000, TH didn't have such a strong jump forward, not even of a 0,5%.
I have just read that when TayTay wa sdating the Kennedy boy she bought a house near the Kennedy compound. Do we think she is going to buy G&W?
>>907 that she does, but like I said yesterday I don't believe for a moment she has actual feeling for him. But I noticed he did that a bit too, he kept looking down while exiting the concert except when he noticed camera then he would looked at her. A bit different from the prideful stance he had last year during papanight.
For those like me that don't have much knowledge of TayTay and are looking for an article not so biased in her favour
And this is so much fun, it makes up for the sinking feeling that TH will end up there (and believe it or not I'm finding these gems at CB)
Taylor Swift Boyfriend Orientation Video
>>926 I'll correct myself, I finished the article and it gets a little too introspective and not fun at all.
>>903 but it's not PR it's true love I tell you!
>>924 I want him to buy her a pony (or some kind of tandem horse that they can both ride) and her to completely remodel his wardrobe and hair into Harry Styles #2. Something along the lines of this wonderful floral suit:
Then I want her to buy a stylish love nest within walking distance of his house and decorate it with declaration of love doilies and a themed bedroom inspired by her rudimentary glance at the cover of one of THs 1st edition Shakespeare anthologies. The cracks will begin to show only once she hand embroiders a misquoted sonnet on their duvet cover and after that I don't care if they split up or marry
A couple of things to add to the pile:
Harris went back following TayTay's borther - no idea what that means in highschool drama land, but wouldn't be ironic if TH gets dumped by TS for her to go back with CH?
>>925 Calvin is just as drama prone as Taylor and petty. Who knows what he's doing by following her again. Some think they're starting to talk again because Taylor is regretting getting with Tom based on the public's response to him.
>>932 I hope she either goes back to Harris or turns out to be 2 months pregnant.
This relationship is so many shades of beige I'm even tiring of the beige glitter they throw at me in the form of a grown adult pretending to enjoy himself at a SG concert. It's fun on the night and then it smears and contorts into ugly face and contaminates anyone within a 5mile radius.
>>932 Is Luke following TS on Twitter? I can't see the follow...I see him following her publicist Tree Paine.
I don't know how reliable Hollywood Life and its sources are or if reps even leak to them but they just printed that Calvin might be worried Taylor's new beau is using her. Which is not hard to believe since everyone is calling Tom a kept man with how Taylor takes him around in her jet and SUV with her security guards and how he chills at her many mansions.
>>933 as I wrote yesterday and today I don't see any pros so far for TH, only cons. I don't even understand how he could be so insecure at 35 with so many people telling him how goodlooking he is and how awesome he is at his job. Truly it's not like he was coming from a bad period. I'm also curious to see the aftermath of this one. I would understand the money factor if he accepted to make a stupid movie for much money because the money would be his. But here it's all Taylor's, when she dumps him (and she will) he will go back to his former budget, and people will still make fun of him.
>>933,934 Harris and Taylor were perfect for each other (it's not a case it lasted so long), both are petty, vindictive, childish and self-absorbed. In the event they went back together, I could buy that the reason might be that TH was just to make Harris jealous or that the bad press made her rethink her plan.
(Personally, if I had just become TH's gf, we would only be doing one thing and seeing one place:the bedroom)
>>933 I forgot to add that you are right about the serious UK's press, that's the real problem. Normally Luke would go to one of them for a puff up piece for his client, but he can't. There hasn't been a single positive article about TH so far in his home country. And Taylor with her This is The One narrative ruled out the option of a summer fling. What a trainwreck, funny but a wreck.
'Taylor & Toms Romance: The Real Story" on newstands Friday.
Tom urges us to vote in the EU referendum. I wonder whether he (a) has flown back or (b) had the foresight to get a postal vote given that this little vacay in the US was probably unplanned?
>>940 Oh and if he is voting, he is voting remain because he followed a Remain account.
From a Guardian interview last autumn: “I’m not in the business of being politically divisive. I don’t want to set a precedent. It’s a private matter.”
>>940,941 he's doing a 180 about everything. I'm not surprised that he would vote to remain. I'm surprised he still thinks anyone gives credit to anything he says though.
The time of the tweet is more consistent with someone being in the UK than the US.
>>942 It could have been a dawn tweet from Corolla NC where he was last seen frolicking with horses.
I bet there's not so many heart eyes in response this time
>>942 Desperately trying to get back on message. Is this the equivalent of the famous "it's all about the Werk and I love you guys" Facebook message after PurseGateGate?
PS yes re time zone as Nashville would have been about 5am when he tweeted. However he was seen yesterday horse riding in TN. Did Taylor fire up,the private plane to drive him home?
He posted it around 5am central, 6am et so it's super possible he's still stateside.
At least IMO.
>>943,944 Is Corolla in North Carolina or Tennesse? Because in the first case, NY wouldn't be that far away, in the second I find it unlikely. Like Anon says it depends whether or not he knew he wouldn't be in the UK, how much in advance he would have had to ask for a postal vote?
>>944 Oh yes, the facebook post! And then we got the Seneca quote. Good times!
Couch, you asked how long we thought it might last. I am putting it in the 6-9 month category. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, so Australia might prolong the relationship rather than curtail it. And, as I said upthread, he may be defiant about being made a fool of and that might also make him hang on tighter.
So there's a quote that's been hanging around my head for a while.
"“I’m bound to have a downturn at some point — probably sooner rather than later.”"
>>949 Basically, he jinxed himself. Or he knew he was headed for the Sunset boulevard and he wanted to go out with a bang. Or it's his last attempt to make it big.
Another attempt at not making it look like there was no cheating.
Finally, the Harris shade is thrown and it's marvelous.
>>951 It is a long time for her, but she has just come off a long relationship and she seems to be in "I am not a loser teenager I can have a properly long relationship" mode.
>>953 No, E does say that it may be a fake and that they have "reached out" to the station for comment - ie they know full well it is but wanted the clicks.
Honestly .. though the PR is fake as hell .. I have to know concede / pray that the sentiments on both sides are real cos the amount of burn and damage this guys is now getting cannot be worth it otherwise.
Needless to say, my respect for EO and her evidently non-PR hounding ways has grown exponentially in the last week.
>>956 Swift is doing her usual game, her sentiments are real in a self-serving way.
As for EO she was author or complicit in the PursePurseGate, she gave quite the performance that night, but contrary to what he looks in these photos with TayTay, TH that night looked pissed. Besides, after Hawaii the articles were shading TH not her, so she played the game for a little while. The difference is that I don't think she did it for PR purposes, but to push TH to commit. Either that or they both had the most lousy PR in the US.
The interview is irrelevant but there a little video of the 2 of them getting into the car after the concert.
True to Taylor form, every date is documented!
>>959 "were by themselves on the date, but surrounded by security," lol
>>951 I don't think they'll reach 6-9 months. I dont even give it her average 3-4 months because of how fast this is going and how she's releasing something everyday, either in pics or leaks. It's easy to tell Tom's team isn't doing much. It's Taylor and team leading and molding the narrative. There is an endgame here but I haven't figured out exactly what yet beyond her not wanting to appear pathetic that she got dumped again. Some of the things Calvin released (or leaked) after the breakup made her look really clingy and not very flattering. She doesn't like people pitying her or feeling sorry for her. She plays the "I'm a victim but I rise" card. And when she was papped with Tom in Rhode Island, there was the rise. Taylor rising above her ex's insults and fate smiling on her and blessing her with the perfect British gent who'll do whatever she wants because all he wants is to make her happy. Her stans ATE IT UP and have been applauding her for sticking it to Calvin since then. She doesn't care Tom is a joke right now because she doesn't plan on being with him for that long. Just long enough to get the upper hand on the media narrative again that Calvin upset with the breakup.
I have to say, all this is slightly taking the joy out of being a TH fan. I used to enjoy the sleuthing that people here did and the pleasure of finding the occasional sighting or pic when he wasn't busy or was hiding out on set. It was like being a fan of the Scarlet Pimpernel (and he does look rather like Leslie Howard!).
>>962 It has become rather On Demand. ToTay On Demand. ToTay Now.
That's what you get when you become tabloid fodder though. We joke around that we want to see them go whole hog but now that they are and we're getting something everyday, the burnout is very real. Most feel the same way (except the stans, they've erected tumblrs, IGs and whatnot dedicated to ToTay).
I forget. Is it ToTay or TayTo? I think it's TayTo. I've writing ToTay this whole time lol! I can't even keep these ships names straight 😆
Apparently Calvin is answering fans on IG and has more or less confirmed Taylor dumped him for Tom. He writes the reply then deletes it after a while. The screenshots are all over IG under his tag.
Calvin is just as much a drama queen as Taylor and they both love it. They're like a high school version of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
Lol Calvin. They're causing a storm on IG right now I'm really hoping this aren't doctored or fake.
Ha, Calvin got a bit ranty on Instagram. My tinfoil hat is coming off, there's no doubt she cheated. He's doing everything he can to say it without getting sued.
I've heard a bunch of theories on when TayTo got started. A lot of people support that it was digital and then took off when they finally met at Anna W for the dinner.
>>969 A phone leak would just make my day. A full transcript of THs sexting.
Meeting at the Met and falling in love on the dancefloor is as believable as the staged photoshoot on the beach. They're a curated fairytale
>>970 Wouldn't that be something? Her entire empire would crumble. Then she'd be laughed at just like Tom is right now.
Lol she was on tumblr and used it to connect with fans. What if she stumbled across the fanfic of her and Tom and decided yes this is what I want and then proceeded to find him and get it on? He is tumblr famous. I just always thought it was hilarious when the tabloids were plastering that fanfic everywhere and saying "it predicted TayTo! It's in the stars!"
>>972 Lol their story is too sanitized. And the way the media backlashed, people are tired of being taken for fools. Then again it's celebrity gossip. It's all about the soap opera!
Okay I was joking before but now it's getting ridiculous. Every single outing is getting papped? There was dinner from last night but now we have lunch from that day too? She always makes sure to look at the camera and smile lol
DailyMail published the lunch pics and added the new info:
"Meanwhile, the Avengers star reportedly also wants to get serious with Taylor, with a source telling the publication that he has 'wanted to settle down for a while.'
Damn ladies. We might just see Tom and Taylor get married with how lovestruck they both look in those DM lunch pics. Either it's been going on for a way way way longer than the official story or this is Bennifer 1.0 on steroids.
I am truly confused now. He looked a bit dead in the eyes after the dinner at Ruth Chris's steakhouse and after the concert as well. And truly uncomfortable with the entire situation just walking outside of the restaurant where he held Taylor's hand so loosely. Now, he's kissing TS's hand and leaning against her hand at dinner? What? And he stares at the paps as he leaves the restaurant dead in the eye! TH, that was bold.
>>961 Let's just say that I hope you are right at this point, and I agree that his PR went AWOL (after saying you don't comment on your client's love life you can't do much), but personally I'm afraid of sticking to a theory too much because I feel my wish for him to be able to save a little of his dignity and brain might make me bend facts to theory and not viceversa.
>>974 while instead he always pretends he doesn't know paps are there, he really is blinded to her real nature isn't he?
It makes me smile when I see him struggling to act like he is protecting her, while surrounded by her security, and he gallantly holds the door, of her car. Maybe that's why he has no new clothes, they are the only thing he is still in control of. Maybe a part of his brain is fighting for reason.
Good point about sticking not sticking to a theory. Vacationing with a man at the beginning of a relationship (not usually quite this fast) is a high. B/c you are free from work entanglements, and you can just have fun together 24/7. And you bond incredibly quickly. But if the relationship starts at too furious a pitch, the man just freaks out after the vacation and needs, "space." Sadly, long vacations with couples at the start of relationships lead to breakups b/c of that very thing. Or he freaks out before he wedding like Ben Affleck did with Lopez, when he felt swept away by the momentum of their courtship.
>>978 The longer being papped keeps him in the press with TS, the more he achieves widespread name recognition in Middle American. It may get him another villian role but after 3 box office duds I don't think he going about it the wrong way.
after 3 box office duds I *do think he going about it the wrong way.
Is there a job still open at his PR company? This is a flaming disaster. Anything that comes out regarding his career is, for right now, being seen through the filter of the relationship, and it all starts to feel cheap.
I predict an engagement photoshoot by next Friday.
He still lokks like an uncle with his niece. Too bad MichaelK. didn't notice he had his eyeglasses with him at the concert, or the handholding chain they did.
>>978 Calm yo tits ladies and remember TH is an AKTOR!
He knows the cameras are on him, none of this is genuine.
Not to say the sentiment isn't true but what we are seeing through the eyes of personally assigned paparazzi is unlikely to be mirrored behind closed doors.
Just generally speaking, regardless of whatever Tom and Taylor are like, it's too soon to be thinking of settling down. You at least spend a year together before deciding " hey this could actually work pretty well long term and maybe for the rest of my life" What's the reason behind such a fast tracked narrative? I don't buy the crazy in love reason, it's too juvenile. Is it really so Taylor can one up Calvin in this high school breakup drama while taking attention away from the Kanye debacle? Is it a mutual pairing where she gets to be the winner in her Calvin drama while Tom gets more visibility? Like Anon said how does this get him more roles? Unless this fling is his audition for How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days the sequel.
>>989 she looked familiar! I remember when Swift followed Tom in 2014 we joked she wanted him as her next prey. I can totally see her sucking it up to TH telling how amazing ISTL was and him thinking "Finally someone that understands how awesome this film is"
Gotta to say I can't imagine someone willing to date him after all this, not right away at least. Who would trust his feelings or anything he says? Unless we are talking about another PR creature or someone after his money.
>>992 No way. There'll be a rush on sloppy seconds. Like when the hot girl falls for the guy you all thought was a douche and suddenly everyone wants a piece. Not saying he's a douche.. or am I..
>>993 yeah but I'm not speaking of his stans or the likes of TayTa's squad members, I'm talking of him maybe meeting someone who actually can be the one. He would have to work double to justify this behaviour, I know he would have to with me. For instance I wouldn't be able to stop laughing.
>>991 snort the true way to TH's heart, gush over ISTL and what a misunderstood gem it was.
Her looking at the camera thru the window and playing to it is kinda creeping me out.
But when could they have met besides the met ball? During Nashville during the filming of ISTL? TS is stalked by paps and fans most of the time. How would they work that out? Maybe they just did a lot of texting, and saucy skyping after the ball, before hooking up over this past week or so.

>>997 I think the only script that could save him now is one of scathing mockery along the lines of Kaufmans deconstruction of Malkovich
