Considering that the text art for all these characters originates from 2ch, I think calling them 4-ch characters is misleading. Squeeks is the only major original character to come out of 4-ch, tablecat is the only other AA with Western origin and he's from world4ch. That being said, the way AA characters are used on Western boards is somewhat different to how they were used originally on 2ch, seeing as our use of them is mainly copy and pasting old AA over and over again whilst 2ch actually produced original content.
